Chapter 3: The Hurrican

"A hurricane coming!" A man shouted. Ariel and I gasped when we heard a storm was coming. I have never been in a hurricane before. I remember being in a tornado before I came here but I have never been in a hurricane before. Ariel and I held on,

tightly to the boat, as the ship was being washed away by the strong winds and waves. People were running to get to a safe place. Scuttle was holding onto a rope. "Woah, the wind is all of a sudden on the move here, yo!" Scuttle cried.

Scuttle was blown away as he was screaming our names. water was splashed onto the ship and the ship was tipping over. Prince Eric ran to the wheel and grabbed it and tried to steer the ship. Ariel and I were doing our best to hold on tightly to the ropes,

on the side of the ship but we were blown away by the powerful wind. we were swept into the water. Ariel and I were able to swim up to the surface but we were surprised to,

see the lightning strike on the ship, causing it to catch on fire. our eyes widened in fear. the crew and the Prince and the princess got safely to the lifeboat but the Prince went

back to the boat, for his dog who was left behind. The prince threw the dog to the lifeboat and the dog was safe but the prince was stuck. the boat was then blown into pieces.

Ariel and I,saw the prince and the princess floating onto one of the boards, but he fell into the water. we dived down into the water and I grabbed the princess and Ariel,

grabbed the prince. we kept swimming and swimming until, we reached dry land. for the first time, I felt the ground. although I had a mermaid tail, I can still feel the land.

I still miss being a human. Scuttle flew up to us. "Is he dead?" Ariel said with concern. "Is she dead too?" I said pointing at the princess. Scuttle opened up one of their eyes,

which was gross to watch. "It's hard to say" Scuttle said. Scuttle went to his feet and lifted up one of his feet. "I...I can't make out a heartbeat" Scuttle said. but Ariel and I,

could see the man was still breathing. "No look, he's breathing! he's so beautiful" Ariel said. "The princess is still breathing too! She's really pretty" I said. Ariel then,

began,singing to the man. I started singing to the princess also. we heard the dog barking and the prince and the princess were starting to wake up. "Come on, we have to hide" I said. We dove into the,

water and we hid behind the rocks. Ariel was singing again.

it's the next morning Ariel and I was really happy. I was staying in the layer with Ariel's five sisters. we all had our own rooms and Ariel and I have been in our rooms all morning, humming happily to ourselves. we had seaweed for our doors in our rooms.

"Ariel, Lana dears, time to come out. you girls have been in your rooms all morning" Andrina said. we came out of our rooms, still humming. "What is with them latley?" Adella said. Ariel grabbed a flower and smelled it. as we were swimming away,

we accidentally ran into King Triton. "Oh morning daddy" Ariel said. "Morning your majesty" I said with a smile. King Triton smiled. Ariel and I swam away humming happily to ourselves. we kept swimming until we got to Sebastion's layer. "Okay, so far so good.

I don't think the king knows. but it will not be easy keeping this a secret for this long" Sebastion said. Ariel and I were debating whether the prince loves us or not. then,

we giggled and cried, "I knew it!" Ariel and I said. "Princess Selena loves me too!" I said. "Ariel, Lana, stop talking crazy!" Sebastion said. "We have to see them again tonight!"

Ariel said. "Yeah, we have to see them again!" I said. "Come on Ariel, Scuttle knows where they live" I said. we started swimming away, but Sebastion stopped us. "Ariel, Lana,

please! will you girls get your head out of the clouds, and back in the water where it belongs?!" Sebastion cried, pulling out our tails. "We will swim up to his castle, then,

Flounder will splash around to get his attention. and then we will go!" Ariel said. "Down here, is your home! Ariel, Lana, listen to me! the human world, it's a mess! life under,

the sea is better than anything they got up there" Sebastion said. Ariel and I sat down. we were disappointed. "Please Sebastion, I was a human, well I am basically. I wanna,

get back on the surface again and become human again" I said. Sebastion then started, singing. I rolled my eyes. when we got the chance, we swam away. after a while,

Flounder came to us. "Flounder what is it?" I said. Flounder was swimming to our secret, place. "You'll see, it's a surprise" Flounder said. when we got in our secret room, we gasped when we looked ahead. a statue of the man, Prince Eric was in the middle of the room. "Oh Flounder, your the best! it looks just like him, it even has his eyes!

why Eric, run away with you? oh this is all so sudden" Ariel said and she giggled. what Ariel didn't know was King Triton was watching her. I nudged her a bit to try to warn her. she turned around and gasped when she saw him.

Flounder and I hid behind the walls. "Daddy?" Ariel said. King Triton had a dark look in his eyes as he glared at his daughter. "I consider myself a responsible merman. I set certain rules, and I expect those rules to be obeyed" King Triton said.

"But dad I..." Ariel was cut off. "Is it true you girls rescued a man and a woman from drowning?" King Triton said. "Daddy we had to" Ariel said. "Connection between the human

world and the, mer-world is strictly forbidden. Ariel, you know that! everyone knows that!" King Triton said. "they would have died" Ariel said. "two less humans to worry about"

King, Triton said. what King Triton said offended me because I was a human too. I was about to have a go with him but Flounder held me back. "Just let it be" Flounder said.

"You don't even know them!" Ariel said. "Know him? I don't have to know him! they're all the same! spinless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters! incapable of any feeling"

King Triton said. I was getting angrier and angrier by the second. my face was turning red. "Daddy I love him!" Ariel said. Ariel gasped and hid behind the statue of Eric.

oh no. "Have you lost your senses completely? he's a human! you're a mermaid!" King Triton shouted. "I don't care!" Ariel shouted back. "So help me Ariel I am going, to get through to you, and if this is the only way, then so be it!" King Triton shouted.

King Triton raised his trident and began to destroy Ariels collection.
