Arctic was woken up by her phone buzzing. Groaning, she picked up her phone. She was surprised to find missed calls and texts from her brother Natsuo.
Natsuo: Heather please come home!
It's important!
Heather, call me back!
Sighing, she dialed Natsuo's number. She didn't want to admit it, but she missed her siblings.
" Hey Heather, we need you home now," Natsuo spoke, his voice urgent.
" What's wrong? Is everything okay?" Heather questioned, panicked.
" T-Touya's dead, Heather,"
Heather hung up, throwing her phone at the wall. She covered her mouth with her hand, trying to contain the sobs. She had just seen him a few months ago, he was fine. Pulling herself together as best as she could, Heather put on a new pair of clothes and headed out of the bar.
" Where are you going?" Shigaraki questioned.
" I have a score to settle with the old man. Don't worry, I have no intentions of spilling your secrets. I'm just going to give the number two hero the humbling her deserves," Arctic growled.
" And how do I know you'll come back?"
Sighing, Heather took off the chain she had on her neck. Looking at the silver T made tears come to her eyes. She pushed them down, setting the necklace on the bar.
" Don't m-mess with it or I'll fucking kill you," Heather growled.
Heather stood in the doorway of her house, hesitating to open the door. She was afraid of what memories would resurface, what would be missing.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Fuyumi pulling her into a hug.
" Thank goodness you're okay! What were you thinking? We were worried sick!" Fuyumi scolded.
" I'm sorry, I just couldn't take it anymore," Heather replied.
" Please, come in,"
" I-I don't know if I can,"
She felt tears streaming down her face, freezing as her emotions got stronger. She pushed Fuyumi away, getting dangerously cold.
" I-I'm sorry, I'm too cold," Heather sobbed.
Fuyumi looked hurt for a moment, making Heather feel guilty. She wished she could be hugged, she needed to be, but even their mother couldn't touch Heather when she was upset.
" Oh… right, let's try and get you warmed up," Fuyumi said.
Heather followed her sister, only half paying attention. As much as she wanted to put her walls up, but she didn't have the energy to. She quickly found herself sitting on the couch by Natsuo, the fireplace nearby.
" I'm sorry you had to find out like that," Natsuo apologized.
" H-How did it happen?" Heather questioned.
" We don't know exactly, dad never told us much. Apparently he was training too hard, his room is completely burnt. This is the only thing that I could find in the rubble,"
Natsuo handed her a chain with a dainty little H on it, just like hers. Heather sobbed harder, remembering when she bought them.
" Touya! Touya, I have something for you!" Heather exclaimed, running to his room.
" What is it?" Touya questioned.
Heather placed one of the necklaces in his hand, beaming with excitement.
" Mama let me get these when we went out earlier. We have to keep these hidden, father doesn't know about it," Heather explained.
" But who do I get the H? Aren't you supposed to have it?" Touya questioned.
" Normally yes, but father likes to separate us. Now we'll have each other's backs, even when we can't see each other,"
Heather felt her brother gripping her dress, soft cries coming from the fabric. She hugged him tighter, not knowing the next time she'd be able to.
" H-he took it off," Heather sobbed.
" So, you've finally crawled back," Enji growled.
" Fuyumi and Natsuo asked me to be here. Touya was my brother,"
" Touya was a failure, just like you,"
Heather felt herself getting colder, seeing Natsuo moving away from her. Her fingers turned purple as she balled them into fists.
" Do you not feel grief? How can you not see Touya is dead because of you?" Heather shouted.
" Heather-" Fuyumi started, worried.
" No, I can't keep holding this in! You pushed us all past our limits for your stupid goal of surpassing All Might. You treat us like we're nothing because we don't live up to your expectations! Touya only stayed because he wanted you to recognize him! He hurt himself so you would acknowledge him! Do you even feel guilty?"
" Don't come into my house and disrespect me!" Enji roared.
Heather felt her cheek sting, the feeling quickly replaces by numbness. She felt ice crawling up her arm, knowing it was going to leave damage.
" Is that how you solve everything, old man? When are you going to learn? Violence isn't heroic!" Heather screamed.
Heather swung her fist back, hitting her father in the jaw. She turned around, heading towards the exit.
" I knew I shouldn't have come back. I'm not going to let you walk all over me anymore!" Heather spat.
She left despite her sibling's cries. She couldn't be in that house any longer, it was too painful for her.
She made it a few blocks before stopping in an alley, breaking down.
Touya's POV-
Touya sat in a tree, not far from his old house. He was surprised to see Heather there, before remembering how he escaped that hell hole. He noticed her starting to freeze, losing control of her emotions as she sobbed in Fuyumi's arms. He wanted to be the one to comfort her, but it would blow his cover.
He was supposed to forget his old life anyways. This was his goodbye, his last chance to see his family. After this, he would erase them out of his mind for good.
He noticed Heather yelling at Enji, feeling proud. She had finally learned to stick up for herself. He had to hold back his chuckle when she decked their father.
As he watched her storm away he noticed something frozen in her fist, the necklace she gave him when they were kids. He did realize he took that chain off, he just wanted to leave evidence behind.
Touya followed her, watching Heather collapse in an alleyway. He noticed the tears frozen to her face, the icicles getting thicker by the second. He heard her whimpers and sobs, feeling sadness wash over him. He never wanted to hurt his sister, but he needed to get out of there. She would've understood.
" F-fuck, I'll kill you old man," Heather sobbed.
I'll help you, Touya thought.
