"I'm sorry," Ritsuka sighed, looking at the man cloaked in red light. Around him were the bleeding bodies of the human staff, being aided by Asclepius who was farther away then he would have liked but they were not dying...not at the moment. "But I can't agree to those terms. I am not the type of person you think I am...even then, those you think of did those things under duress...even if it didn't seem like it."
"A pity," he sighed. "Then I have no use for a world saver like you...or your organization. It's a pity though."
"RUN SENPAI," Mashu yelled as they stepped away from the man. "CONTACT THE OTHERS-"
"Why do you not agree with me? I have heard what you think of this world-"
"KIARA DEVOUR HIM! GRAMPS KILL HIM," Ritsuka yelled as he motioned the other servants to gather the bleeding staff. "SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!"
"Of course master," Kiara was serious like before in the Ooku, though this time she was too busy with the person before her to even think about depravity.
"I will sever thine head," King Hassan roared before vanishing into flames.
'Fujimaru we need to go-ACK,' Goredolf screamed as a bullet pierced him.
"DIRECTOR," Ritsuka screeched before yelping as Mashu pushed him out of the way. Something connected with her shield and suddenly he was blinding, seeing nothing but Mashu and her shield.
"Master they are being enhanced by something else...someone else!"
'Not another alien god," Ritsuka growled. "We don't have the time to think of something!"
"I...It might be…" Mashu whimpered as the strain against the shield became too much.
"We need to leave-"
"RITSUKA," Da Vinci yelled as a tendril of darkness attempted to get to him.
"DANTES!"
"SENPAI," Mashu screeched, getting in the line of fire. Blood sprayed everywhere, she fell with a thump…
Blood...Warmth...Blood….Blood…..BLOOD...BLOOD….BLOOD!
"MASHU," Ritsuka yelled out, bolting up in bed as he thought about those final moments of the first fight they head.
They were caught off guard, they nearly….he nearly lost everyone.
He still could lose everyone.
"Master," a dark voice murmured, a hand going to him and gripping tight. "A memory?"
"Goetia," he murmured, laying back and turning his head to the side to look into the doe eyes of the beast of humanity.
He had, similar to Kingu, forced his appearance. But he didn't hijack a summoning, he forcefully made one for himself and waited outside his door for hours until he woke up, begging for a contract and to be useful.
And he was...even if he was a bit strange.
"I am fine," he swallowed, breathing in shallowly as he placed a hand in the golden tresses of Beast I and smiled at the cooing of a particular Bast IV.
"Master...I...I don't want you to go to UA...I don't like that place...it's filled with a false light," Goetia murmured, Ritsuka tightening his grip on the golden hair.
"False how?"
"Superhero ideals, they want to be better...all the things seen in books and films...they do not translate into real life...All Might is the worst of them yet…"
"I know," ritsuka admitted. "He is the paragon of Superhero Idealism. He is the cookie cutter mold that all others try to follow and in the end that will be the collapse of this society….because he is a Symbol that is mortal."
"Kill a symbol before someone else emerges...kill the hope."
"But we won't do that lest we actually draw too much attention to ourselves," Ritsuka murmured, allowing Fou to rest on his chest as Goetia laid his head on the bed. "We best change this generation from the inside...thankfully Kiara and Kama are happy to be in Seraphix for the time being…"
"Beast III/R is still upset about the staff and Mashu?"
"Corrupted she may be, the King Kiara is still there and her failure to protect them...to protect us hurts her terribly," Ritsuka admitted. "She is a kind person beneath her depravity."
"I don't trust her...but I trust your judgement."
"I will be speaking with her and Kama soon...but please," he turned to look into the sad eyes of a lost soul. "Make sure that Dantes has my coffee ready?"
"Of course."
"And send Ashiya in."
That had Goetia faltering.
The two hated one another for whatever apparent reason, Goetia was like an angry or threatened cat at the mere sight of the Onmyouji. While the Onmyouji always threw some sort of jab or cursed the way of the Beast. Ritsuka knew of their hatred, but knew not of its cause. He was content to let them vent it out so long as they didn't actually harm one another.
"I need to speak with him."
"Very well," Goetia nodded, moving to head out the room.
Not a moment later a shadow in the room formed the sight of a very tall and intimidating man.
"Master," he cooed with a bow, smiling his usual grin before it dropped. "I unfortunately have nothing to report...nothing good anyways."
"I fear as much," Ritsuka admitted, smiling as Fou whined and went to lick his cheek.
"I went out in my usual garb as you requested, immediately I was flagged down as a suspicious man and potential villain within 10 minutes of walking. The use of my Shikigami...that caused a bit of stir when I went to help with a burning building situation," he pouted, said shikigami floating around him. "They seem to not think...very outside of the box," he shrugged. "When I went to explain Mana and Chi...I was regarded as a bit of loon."
"So no one believes in a supernatural force in the thought of one's quirk?"
"All Genetics I am afraid. I also went to the old shrines I worked at in my youth and days of service. I even went to Abe's," he sneered out the name. "All in similar stages of disuse and decay."
"No one visited?"
'No one's bothered too it seems," he admitted.
"Good," Ritsuka nodded. 'Have Raikou and the Shinsengumi head out and find a few secluded ones to make hideouts and potential 'agencies'," he began, getting up as Dantes entered with a tray. "We need to keep up this farce as long as possible so long as I am in UA."
"Teaching an entire school is not going to be easy...the teachers will no doubt hinder your lessons."
"Not when we're in the museum," Ritsuka smiled.
"It is only because of our reputation that they cannot go against us," Dantes cautioned.
"I know," Ritsuka's smile fell for a moment before going back up. "I have been tutored by Gil and everyone else in the game of politics. The HC cannot go against us so long as we have the UN's backing and the Governments."
"How long will it last though," Ashiya interjected. "Be that as it may, the Government seems to be second place in the eyes of the people and more and more people from the Commissions are making their way into the government. One might say they are one and the same."
"Who knows," Ritsuka shook his head, taking the delicate china from the tray into his hands.
"You do," Ashiya offered up, the two servants looking at their master who smiled.
'Why do you say that?"
"Why do you think?"
"I think that you're placing me on top a pedestal so high that if I fall...it will make the plunge Icarus did seem survivable," he giggled, opening his eyes to reveal sharp sapphires.
"Maybe."
It was silent as Edmond moved to get Ritsuka dressed, Ashiya finished his report dutifully as Goetia went back into his master's shadow.
"Edmond just because I called you for a meeting here doesn't mean that your punishment is over. I expect you back in France once your done here."
"Fuck."
LATER THAT DAY
"Wow," Midnight swallowed as they approached the compound. "It's...ornate?"
That was one way to describe it.
Rumor had it that there were over 300 contracted heroes under Chaldea and while they were stationed in nearly every country in the world, their hub was Japan so it was natural that their HQ would be big...but this? It was fucking ridiculous.
The office area wasn't an office area, it was a fucking foyer made of marble, greek columns, famed Greek statue recreations with a staircase that split off into two going to the left and right.
It was gilded in gold and silver, a crystal chandelier was over them with golden candelabra lighting the area they were in. The Plush velvet rug beneath their feet screamed opulence and they felt out of place.
"Ah you're here," a voice called to them, and they turned to see a woman...dressed even worse than Midnight when she first debuted. She had two little flaps to cover her chest as her tight geta sandals rushed to them, her katana on her side as she smiled at them. 'Hello! I am Ushiwakamaru! I was instructed to bring you to the meeting room," she smiled as she gave a bow.
"We were instructed," a male voice sighed as a man came forward.
He was wearing a Hakama with two katanas at his waist. He no doubt had other weaponry that was covered by his familiar light blue and white Haori.
'Ah! Hajime-san," Ushiwakamaru grinned. "I forgot! Forgive me!"
'Tch. Man Vice Commander is gonna have my ass for helping them," he grumbled before jerking his head to the stairs. "Meeting is on the second floor."
"I thought we weren't allowed into the rest of the compound," Mic asked as the two began to head toward the stairs.
"You're not," Hajime nodded. "This is our visitors area," he nodded to the area around.
"I thought you'd have more security or heroes milling around, for protection of your agency," Aizawa commented.
"We have no need for that," Ushiwakamaru laughed as she back flipped onto one of the statues lining the rail of the stairs. She landed cleanly on its head and giggled. "What fool, civilian, hero or villain comes here without an invitation?"
"That's just asking to be attacked," Aizawa pointed out, ignoring the warning looks he received.
"Oh," Hajime smiled. "We invite them to try," his tone was...off.
"Hey! Were going to be late," Ushiwakamaru gasped. "Come! They don't like to wait!"
'You were the one who was late," Hajime yelled as she jumped from head to head up that staircase. "Stop doing that! Those things were not easy to commission after all! Those fucking stingy bastards charging us so much for these things," Hajime cursed as he stomped up that stairs.
The four faculty members followed in silence, trying not to let their eyes wander too much as they passed by very little doors. Nezdu narrowed his eyes as he noticed they all had symbols…
One door had that of a skull mask...another the skull of a horned beast...one had a horse with a wheel under it...another a burning meteor that looked like a skull...the scales of balance…
Strange.
"Oi! Master! We have them," Hajime called as they stopped in front of an ornate door that held scenes of vicious battle.
"It's only Vice," a softer voice called. "Very good Saitou, let them in."
"Right," he nodded, opening the door and with a sweep of his hands motioned them in.
Before them was Ritsuka Fujimaru, Vice Director of Chaldea and possibly their new fellow employee. Next to him was a man with slicked back navy blue hair, he had a myriad of magnification spy glasses around him as he smoked an old clay pipe, fingers interlaced as he leaned in his chair, eyes closed. Beside him was a woman with a rather robust form, brown hair and kind eyes, she wore a rather colorful dress and had a mechanical bird perched on her shoulder as she tinkered with someone before her. On the left of the Vice Director was a woman with purple hair and manic eyes as she typed away on a holographic computer, grumbling to herself as she angrily hit a few keys.
"Welcome! Welcome," Ritsuka smiled as Saitou closed the door. "If you would please sit! I will introduce my fellow workers and heroes!"
Now that got their attention.
"They are heroes as well? They aren't just support or management," Mic asked, curious.
"Hahah! We much prefer not to see combat! But if needed we can...well me and this one," the brown haired woman explained, pointing to the smoking man who had yet to open his eyes. "Her...eh," she shrugged as she pointed to the purple haired woman.
"Ahahah! Well it is a bit strange. But everyone pulls their weight," Ritsuka shrugged. "Now! As you know I am...how about a game of who's who?"
"Of course," Nezdu smiled. "Of course I am the Principle of UA Nezdu. This is our English teacher Present Mic, our Modern Hero Arts teacher Midnight and our Heroics Teacher, Eraserhead."
The man scoffed, but didn't open his eyes, only moving to sit up and remove his pipe.
"Well, it's nice to meet you three," Ritsuka bowed, the three doing the same. "I have our head of Support here, Leonardo Da Vinci," he motioned to the tinkering woman who smiled.
"Lovely Lady Da Vinci with the grace of the Mona Lisa is here for all their needs," she nearly yelled, flamboyant and jolly.
That...was not what they were expecting from someone from Chaldea.
"Our head of PR, well co head,' Ritsuka smiled. "Konyonskaya isn't here right now, she's in Russia at the moment. But we have BB," he motioned to the purple head.
"Hmm," she regarded them with boredom before going back to her work.
"And our head of Management, Sherlock Holmes...I thought I said no smoking," Ritsuka sighed as he looked to the man who still had the pipe.
"I wasn't listening at that time," british?
"Of course not."
The two women began to giggle as the two got into an argument.
"If only you weren't so important i'd have shipped you off back to London to bug the Knights over there. Maybe Lancer would have stabbed you or Robin would have shot you in the head."
"Wouldn't be the first time I've earned the ire of my comrades nor the first time they have tried to kill me," he smiled, turning to a putalent Ritsuka who looked ready to give up.
"Honestly Sherlock," he grunted before shaking his head. "Now..a look over my teaching plan correct?"
"If you would," Nezdu nodded as Aizawa took out their requirement sheets.
"Here you go," Ritsuka smiled, handing over a rather robust folder. "We have all day, so take your time."
"They either don't like what's in that folder or they don't understand half of what's in it," Sherlock spoke in Ritsuka's mind as he continued to smoke his pipe and think about...something.
"It might be a combination of both," Da Vinci interrupted. "Only Nezdu and Midnight reacted, if barely to my name and Sherlocks. So they do know who we are...but were so far into the past…"
"Well this is certainly a surprise," BB chimed in. "Nezdu is an escaped experiment with a penchant for wanting to hurt humans."
"Did he make those feelings public?"
"Unfortunately yes."
"Damn," Ritsuka thought as he continued to read the memos he was getting. "Mother is getting anxious the longer they are here...she might soon make tremors."
"We should have left Tiamat in the Middle East," Sherlock began before Ritsuka silenced him.
"We can't let the Beasts away from me for too long...same with foreigners. I am the only reason they are sane to a degree."
"And yet you let the avengers run wild," Sherlock shot back, opening his eye a crack to look at Ritsuka.
"What?"
"Lobo was nearly shot today," he began. "They thought it was a mutated quirk user that had gone rabid," he explained. "Once Lobo spoke to them did they back down...but the damage had been done and the men slaughtered."
'And those men?"
"They were human traffickers...but don't steer away from my thoughts. You aren't keeping a tight leash on our dearest Avengers," he reiterated.
"Sometimes to get the message across...some chaos needs to be done."
"Well I don't deny that...letting Avengers have free reign to do it?"
"Would you prefer I let the Alter Egos or Foreigners do it," was Ritsuka's quip back.
"It would speed things along...but I can see that's not your end goal. You don't want to make this fast...you want to drag it out," Sherlock allowed himself a smirk as he saw his master's hand hesitate for a moment before continuing scrolling through the memos.
"What is your plan master," Da Vinci interrupted for the first time in a while. "After all...you only ever keep a tight leash on people so you can have them run wild unabashed later."
"Who knows," Ritsuka quipped back.
"I'm afraid you're a bit too well trained now in deception and politics," Sherlock shot back, pursing his lips.
"Well the Mages Association and Heroes Commission is no joke. If nothing else it's best to keep things to myself for now," Ritsuka grinned to his tablet.
The three felt uneasy for a moment before it all faded away.
Ritsuka had changed after everything, he was more...cold and calculated when it came to things that needed plans but once things calmed down or became...normal, he was the same as ever. He was confident in his plan then they would be too, even if his need to antagonize the heroes at every turn was becoming a bit of a problem...to the heroes, they honestly didn't care.
Maybe they wanted to antagonize them too.
"This is...intense," Midnight commented as the four left to speak to a dark green haired man who looked at them in annoyance. "It's going back thousands of years," she breathed.
"It's going into religion too," Mic commented. "It's ballsy."
"I'm more concerned over what he's starting with," Nezdu sighed as he placed the file down. "I've never heard of the religion or the person..Zoroastrianism and Angra Mainyu?"
"Zoroastrianism...it was one of the oldest practiced religions in the world that focused on cosmic duality. Focused particularly on the triumph of evil from good...Angra Mainyu is said to be the world's evils personified…" Aizawa read from his phone.
'It makes sense, it's the beginning of things and makes sense for a hero school," Midnight commented before shivering. She looked around, something in the room was making the atmosphere...off.
What the?
"What is your impression of Mr. Fujimaru?"
"He's...strange for sure," Mic leaned back. "He's got an aura around him that's all nice and open but it's definitely holding something dark back."
"All of them are," Aizawa commented, not bothering to straighten up from his slouched position. "They are all hiding a deadly aura, it's only that Ritsuka had one that was...more veiled than the rest."
"It's best to go along with what he wants for now and then ease him into allowing us to observe his classes. They are going to be watching us and our movements as we will be watching their's."
"It feels like we're falling into a game...their game," Mic added.
'We are," Aizawa assured him. "And I know they know we know."
"Chladea, while blood thirsty and violent, have shown to have resources and intelligence that is not to be trifled with," Nezdu breathed. "We cannot afford to make an enemy of them."
"Have you seen what people in Europe and America have done? Protests and rallies to get them disbanded," Midnight hissed. "And they haven't reacted at all!"
America had not taken kindly to the rather...violent approach that the hero known as Billy the Kid had taken when in a shoot off with some other villains. Some say he executed them before they ever heard a bang, others say he was itching to shoot someone.
In the end he lived and those men died.
The hero named The Count of Monte Cristo had taken to nearly burning his captives alive with his black flames. He was not kind to those he captured and more often than not they were begging for death, Count merely smoking as the villains cry for the release of death.
Rallies had been outside of the France Branch of Chaldea for months due to Count's behavior. But he was never reprimanded and he was never taken off duty..at least not for very long.
"I honestly don't think they really care too much. Besides they've solved so many cases and stopped so many people and children from being hurt...they've contributed to many foundations and research that had previously been abandoned...they are doing more humanitarian work that most countries," Mic shrugged. "So while their heroes are off the charts crazy when it comes to how they handle their villains...they do care."
And that is precisely how they are getting away with their actions toward said villains.
It was going to be an interesting year for sure.
Unbeknownst to them, a certain Zoroastrianism deity watched with raised brows.
"What Kingu," Ritsuka asked as he looked at his brother.
'How are things with those slaves," he asked, Ritsuka closing his eyes in an attempt to calm himself.
'Kingu-"
"What," he demanded.
"Do not call them slaves please," Ritsuka begged as the three servants behind giggled.
"That's what they are," Kingu protested. "Slaves to this society that placed black and white as the only two shades to fall under. they are calling for Billy to be jailed for simple self defense! Stun bullets? Rubber bullets? What bullshit is that."
"Can we please not get into this RIGHT NOW," he hissed, glaring at his brother who huffed.
Ritsuka understood, Billy was getting heat right now due to his stand off with some villains the other day and his reaction was to use Thunderer to get rid of them quickly and end the standoff that had 50 hostage, classic bank situation. Of course the people inside the bank had seen the men all drop down like flies as felt their blood on their faces and labeled Billy as a villain. It hit him hard because he liked saving people from those that would hurt them, but he had no choice...besides the Wild West was shoot to kill. It was his instincts...and he's not going to risk getting shot himself.
"Whatever," Kingu huffed, drawing Ritsuka out of his thoughts. "Mother is getting antsy. She wants them gone," he spoke of Tiamat. "She's beginning to strain against mine and Enkidu's Chains."
"I see," Ritsuka nodded. "I will hurry this meeting along then. How long do we have before we begin to feel the tremors?"
"30 minutes at most. 20 if we are unlucky."
'I will get them out in 10 then," Ritsuka grunted as the other's sighed in despair. "I will get the details of the teachers meetings and send them along their way. You three head back to command and keep an eye on the riots and protests outside our American and French Branches."
"They are calling for Dantes to be arrested and tried for crimes...or even institutionalized."
'No doubt he did that so I would take him out of France and back to my side," Ritsuka felt a headache. "Fine, his punishment was almost over anyway. Send a message to him telling him to get his ass over here?"
"On it," Da Vinci nodded before heading off.
"Dantes doesn't want to be far from you," Sherlock reminded Ritsuka. "He is your most trusted after all."
"I know...I would rather he not try and kill Shakespeare or anyone else who annoys him...but that's his nature," Ritsuka shook his head. "Let's end this meeting..I'm tired."
They merely nodded, heading away as he went back to the...heroes.
Heh...what a strange thing to look at them as they didn't even have real weapons on them.
It was going to be a difficult year.
