Chapter 3: Till we meet again.

The Cup, he remembered the feeling of a hook pulling at his navel, tugging him away from the hedges that surrounded him. The dreaded tombstones in rows. The familiar cold voice that came out from Lord Voldemort's mouth. The unfocused eyes of Cedric Diggory. The helpless sensation that enveloped him as Pettigrew resurrected the Dark Lord. The pain that could not be bested as he tortured him.

He shot straight up from his lying position, eyes bloodshot, breaths heavy. Everything around him was bright, he felt a soft and comfortable material under him. A cool breeze was comforting him along with a soothing melody that came from below. Harry Potter let out a deep breath; it was only a nightmare. He squinted, the walls around him were coated with a homey beige colour and the soft material was a bed, he noticed, and a very comfortable one at that, a duvet covering his pyjamas. Wait? Pyjamas? Where was he? He blinked, drawing up a blank as he tried to recall the events of last night. He looked around, everything was a blur, realising something, Harry slapped himself, of course everything was a blur, he wasn't wearing his glasses. He looked around again trying to recognise the black rimmed glasses that he had owned ever since he could talk. He saw it. The pair of glasses was sitting on a nightstand to the left of him. Harry Potter quickly grabbed it and put it on his face. Everything quickly became clear around him. As if a switch had been turned on when he put on his glasses, everything he had been through last night rushed back into his mind. Demetors had attacked him and Dudley, he was thrown out of Number 4 and he had went to the Peverells for help. Is this where he was then? The Peverells. Harry stood up, the source of the breeze was from a window. He walked up to it, the view was of a backyard, one which would have made Aunt Petunia jealous, the grass was so evenly cut that if you simply glanced at it, you would have thought that it was a carpet. Flowers of all kinds grew in it, organised in such a manner that it simply looked wild and tamed at the same time. Simply breath-taking.

As Harry was enjoying the view, the door opened, breaking the quietness of the room and making Harry jumped. Instincts making his hand go for his wand instantly, which to his horror, wasn't there.

"Your belongings are in the drawer where your glasses was." Aderyn said looking at Harry patting his pockets trying to find his wand. Harry went over to the nightstand, his suitcase plopped beside it, Harry opened the drawer and let out a sigh of relief. There, on top of his clothes from last night's fiasco was his wand.

Harry looked to where Aderyn was standing and muttered his thanks to her, who simply nodded and handed him a glass of water. "Here, drink this and get changed while I tell dad that you've awaken. There should be some clothes your size in the drawer. They're from when Cor was still younger."

Harry's face reddened in embarrassment, despite being the same age, Corvus was a foot taller than Harry, courtesy of the Dursleys. "Thanks" he muttered again.

The girl smiled happily at Harry and left the room.

Harry gulped down the water quickly, he hadn't even noticed how thirsty he was until Aderyn gave him the glass. After curing his thirst, he changed out of his pyjamas and put on a grey shirt along with some jeans. Aderyn was right, the clothes were indeed a perfect fit.

Harry gaped as he stepped out of his room, several items that Harry could only think of as priceless were lined up in shelves that was placed along the walls of the stairwell: A katana from Japan, a headress of some sort, an antique Russian doll and others that Harry was unable to identify. He headed downstairs where now the music was louder, Harry turned his head towards the sound, Corvus was playing a piano that was placed in a corner of the living room. Hands not breaking contact from the keys, Corvus looked up at Harry, breaking into a smile. "Ah, Sleeping Beauty has finally awaken, would it be too much of a coincidence that Addie was the one who saw you last before you woke?" He asked, poker-faced. Harry scowled at his implication. "Get your mind out of the gutter. She did not kissed me."

"Who didn't kissed Harry"

Harry's face reddened unlike Corvus who paled when they realised who had spoken.

"No one." "A friend "

Both of them said simultaneously.

"Okay. Well... There's some food in the kitchen, considering you've been out for 2 days." Aderyn said slowly, looking at them carefully. "it's right through that door"

"Wait, what? I've been out for 2 days? so it's the 4th of August now."

"Yep." Aderyn grinned, "It's no big deal, you didn't missed much."

"I guess you're right"

After Harry had eaten, Aderyn told him that Cygnus wanted to talk to him in his study, she pointed out the direction for him.

Harry looked to the direction of her pointed finger, there was a hallway to the right of the stairs, at the end was a door which she pointed to. Harry started to walk towards the door but paused, his brows wrinkled anxiously. What did Mr Peverell want anyway.

Noticing his hesitancy, Corvus looked at Harry who was shaking slightly and emotions leaking from his eyes; Worry, Fear and Nervousness.

"Calm down mate, dad isn't going to eat you, he just wants to know why you suddenly showed up at our house looking all beat up and carrying all your belongings with you."

Harry took a few breaths, composing himself and continued walking towards the door. He reached it and knocked.

"Come in." the reply was almost instantly.

Harry opened the door, the room inside was filled with bookshelves, a carpeted floor, three armchairs were placed in the middle of the room. "Come Harry, please take a sit." Cygnus signalled for Harry to come closer.

"Now Harry, if you think some of my questions are too personal you are very much in your power to not answer them, I also no not need details, a vague understanding of your current situation will be enough. Any questions?"

Harry nodded, "Just one sir."

Cygnus signalled for Harry to continue.

"Are Corvus and Aderyn not allowed in here?"

The older man smiled "Your only question was about your friends? I daresay you have much loyalty, but do be careful in who you place your trust in. You'd never know when they might backstab you. To answer your question. Yes, they are allowed in here but they wanted to give you privacy. If you want I can call them in."

Harry nodded his head, "that would be great, sir."

Cygnus Peverell got up and walked outside the room. Leaving Harry alone for a few seconds, before coming back with the twins, both of them with unreadable expressions.

The trio of them sat, the twins sitting on the armrests instead of the chair itself.

"Ready?"

Harry nodded.

"Why did you show up with all your things on our doorstep?"

"My Uncle kicked me out."

"And why did he do that?"

"Umm... We were attacked on our way back and Dudley was severely injured." Harry saw Aderyn stiffened "No, it wasn't you, Aderyn. It was somethi-someone else" Cygnus raised an eyebrow at his daughter but said nothing.

"And for some reason my uncle decided that it was my fault that caused him to be hurt, so he kicked me out." Harry continued.

"Bit harsh" Corvus said. His father nodded in agreement.

"Were you attacked too?"

"Yes"

"OK, that was the last question and you can stay here for the rest of your holidays."

"Sir, I can go somewhere else, I don't want to be a burden."

The twins scoffed, and their father smiled at them, like what my children are thinking right now, you are not a burden to us and you never will be."

Harry smiled, for the first time he felt welcomed just like at Hogwarts and the Burrow."

"Come Harry, let me give you the tour. You coming, Cor? " Aderyn said dragging Harry with her. Corvus, looked at them and shook his head. "No, I need to discuss something with dad."

"Come on then, Harry"

"He's abused." Corvus said softly after Harry had left. "Not too serious or he wouldn't be telling his story to us, but enough that he cuts out parts of it, that or he's actually a serial killer on the loose."

Cygnus chuckled, "I'll never know why only you got your mothers perceptiveness, can't ever hide secrets from her. So... abused you say."

Corvus nodded

"Anything else?"

"No."

"Alright, you can go join them."

Crovus left his father's study to find Harry. He found them talking in the backyard. "Hey." Harry waved at Corvus, who waved back. "What're you two talking about? "

"Just about the house."

"You sure you two are not taking about something else?"

"What do you mean?" Aderyn raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know, maybe something like wedding plans." After saying this Corvus immediately broke off in a run.

"That prat." Aderyn scowled as she ran to find her brother. "I'm going to kill him."

Harry smiled to himself, amused by the twins' antics.

Dinner was a extremely memorable experience. His good dinner experience had always been with a large group like his housemates or the Weasleys. This time, it was different, it felt like he was actually at home, the four of them having a good time. No Draco Malfoy to pester them, no Weasley twins pranking them, Harry actually felt like a proper family and he was happy with it.

After dinner, Harry decided to organise his room, right now his suitcase remained unpacked upstairs. When he entered the room... No, his room, Harry's eyes fell on a owl on his bed. Apparently an owl had been sent to him with orders not to be seen.

The owl hooted impatiently and glared at him. Harry snorted in amusement picking the letter up from the owl. It was from Sirius, Harry smiled, it had been a while since He had receive a letter from his godfather.

Harry,

I hope you are doing great and those muggles are treating you well. I know it has been a long time since I wrote to you, but worry not, after today I'll be able to see you again, stay safe.

Padfoot.

Harry wrinkled his forehead in thought, what did he mean by I'll be able to see him tomorrow, he's not planning to break in, is he? Harry shrugged, deciding to worry about that tomorrow, as long as he didn't hurt the twins. He was fine with whatever Sirius had in mind, Right now he was going to sleep and he didn't have a care in the world.

Harry woke up to the sound of Hedwig hooting, she had came back from hunting last night, Harry looked a this watch;9AM he sat up and started mindlessly petting the snowy owl, who hooted happily. Today was supposedly the day that Sirius was going to see him, he seriously hoped that he would not hurt the Peverells. Harry grinned at his own pun . He would just wait and see what Sirius's plan was.

A knock on the door had made sure of any remaining sleepiness that he still had, gone. "I'm up, I'm up." Still wearing his pyjamas, Harry got up from his bed and made his way to the door, Cygnus Peverell was standing in front of him when he had opened the door slightly. "Good Morning, Harry." He smiled.

"Good morning, sir." Harry stood at the small crack that the door had.

"I hope I didn't wake you?"

"No, sir" Harry replied quickly.

"Good, I'm just telling you that the twins and I are heading out to do some business. It'll be a few hours before we come back. Do try not to get in trouble." He roughly told his plan to Harry.

"I'll stay in my room." Harry informed.

Cygnus looked at Harry suspiciously. "No no no, you're welcome to explore the house, just don't snoop in my study and you'll be fine. One more thing, there's food in the fridge, use the microwave as you please."

Harry nodded silently but smiled.

"Well I'd better be going now." He turned and headed downstairs

Harry had to wonder how much trust the Peverells had put in him that they'd let Harry stay at their house alone.

Not knowing what to do, Harry decided to change out of his pyjamas first, as he got up his eyes fell on a stack of books that he had put on his suitcase. An idea struck him, since Voldemort had come back, it wouldn't hurt for Harry to study more, especially now that the Dursleys didn't lock his school things in the cupboard under the stairs.

Two hours had passed since Harry started reading ahead on Transfiguration and Charms for one hour respectively. He was now close to passing the third hour studying Potions, Harry was determined not to let Snape have any chance belittle his potions, it was a good decision albeit a little late on his part. By this time Harry's stomach had started to grumble. He sighed, looked up at the clock, it wrote 12:37. Harry shrugged and went downstairs to heat up the food the Cygnus had left for him.

A plate of cold spaghetti was waiting for him in the fridge when Harry opened it. He put in the microwave and set the timer for 1 minute, by the time it had finished heating up Harry was feeling extremely famished, Harry put the plate on the dining table, but before he could start eating a knock interrupted him. Grumbling incoherently to himself, Harry opened the front door, his face of annoyance quickly changed to one of surprised.

"Professor Lupin, what are you doing here? "

"Shush, Harry. Is anyone home?"Remus Lupin silenced the teenager.

Harry shook his head.

"Now, if you would kindly take me to your room."

Harry, still speechless, beckoned the man to follow him. Who went inside the house and locked the door behind him and started following Harry up the stairs.

"You still haven't answer my question sir." Harry found his voice as they entered his room.

"Please, Harry. Call me Remus or Moony. And to answer your question, I'll be taking you away from here, Dumbledore requested it."

"Away? Where?" Harry asking as he packed his belongings.

"A safehouse if you will. You'll get all your questions answered when you get there." Lupin replied simply. "Finished? Good. Now if you would hold my hand. The first time can be disorienting."

"What?" Harry looked at him stupidly.

Remus slapped himself, "Of course, how stupid of me. You are going to be side-along apparating with me, it's a form of magical travel."

"Okay.." Harry nodded, unsure of himself and started to reach for the werewolf's hand.

"Wait." Harry suddenly pulled back his hand. "I need to tell the twins that I'll be going away."

"Twins?" Remus asked surprised. "You mean this isn't your relatives' house."

"Nope, this is my neighbour's house. They took me in after the Dursleys kicked me out." Harry grimaced at the memory.

"I see, and you are close with them?"

"Yes, they'll worry about me if I suddenly disappear." Harry picked up a pen and a piece of paper and started to write a short letter, he signed his name and folded it up, putting it neatly on his bed.

"Okay, we can go now." Harry held up his hand for Remus. With a swift crack both wizards apparated away.

The Peverells arrived home a few minutes after Harry's departure, only to step foot in an empty, quiet house. "Harry?" Corvus called for his friend, frowning as he saw the plate of spaghetti on the table. He held her hand above the plate. "There's a plate of spaghetti and it's still warm." he announced

"Harry?" Aderyn called as she went upstairs, no reply. "Harry?" she called again, this time opening the door to Harry's room. She looked around, a folded up piece of paper caught her attention, she hurriedly picked it up from the bed.

Aderyn and Corvus,

First of all, I'm sorry if I scared any of you, don't worry, I'm fine, my dad's friend came over and picked me up today, I'll be staying with him for the rest of Summer. Stay safe, till we meet again, I hope.

Your friend,

Harry Potter.

"Dad, Cor, come quick, Harry's left a letter." Aderyn called.

Sounds of running footsteps could be heard running upstairs.

"What's it say." Corvus asked panting.

Aderyn smiled sadly and gave Corvus the letter. His face frowned as he read through the letter.

"What did Harry write." Their father asked, arriving last.

"He's safe...that's good, and he's Harry Potter... Of course, he's a wizard, I mean I had some suspicion that he was The-boy-who-lived. Always wondered what he looked like." Corvus facepalmed as he handed the letter to his father.

Aderyn shook her head, "To be fair, we've only known about him for a few weeks. At least he'll be safe."

"Yeah... at least."

"I hope you two are right" their father said, his face unreadable.

Crack

"Ughh, that was horrible." Harry said in between pants.

"It'll get better with time." Remus said sympathetically.

"I seriously doubt that. Where are we anyways."

Remus Lupin didn't answer but instead handed the raven-haired teenager a small piece of paper.

The Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix can be found at Number 12 Grimmauld Place.
