Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Reaper and the Warrior. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Overlord, Kugane and a few others do.

Gaidar lunged forward, locking blades with Zesshi as sparks flew from their weapons as Gaidar leapt backwards. He dodged a strike at his head as blocked another strike which raced towards his ribs.

"Your good at this…" Gaidar stated as he turned to the side and started to circle Zesshi. "I know there aren't many people who know the ability to fight like this." Gaidar added as he flipped his blades in his hands.

He knew for a fact that this wasn't an easy fight… And that excited him more then anything. He enjoyed this combat; this fight was more then he could believe.

Zesshi threw herself forward, a grin etched on her face as Gaidar parried the hit to the side. He smirked as she brought up her scythe to block a hit which would have taken his skull apart.

He was sent skidding backwards as he hummed and looked at Zesshi with interest.

She wanted this fight as much as he did. He was glad. It was enough to shake him to pieces.

"Your enjoying this…." Gaidar muttered in a whisper before bringing both of his blades down. "Your consumed by this fight, aren't you?" Gaidar asked while sparks flew from their weapons.

"You want this fight just as much as I do." Zesshi said and licked her lips. "Theres never been one to give me such a fight. Everyone who usually fights me is killed by now. I've never met someone who can put up such a struggle… Are you the one?" Zesshi questioned as she twirled and ducked Gaidar's swords which passed over her head.

She kicked him back. Gaidar spit out blood, he stood after moving backwards and digging his swords into the ground.

"The one to what?" Gaidar questioned as he cracked his knuckles. "Defeat you? At this point? I don't much care… This fight is more then I asked for." Gaidar stated which caused Zesshi to hum.

"I've waited for one to be my mate…." Zesshi said while dragging her scythe across the floor. "The only one to defeat me will become mine… Forever." Zesshi added as she smiled demonically.

It made Gaidar blink. She wanted whoever was stronger then her… To become the father of her child? That confounded him, but he would not yet question it. He wanted this battle and to have it now? He'd accept that idea if it meant they could have a single clash to the death.

"Fight, words mean nothing without strength to see them through." Gaidar stated as he stepped forward and rushed in at her. "Besides, battle is how you learn the most about someone…" Gaidar stated while he planted his feet on the ground.

Zesshi greeted him as more sparks met the ground, he deflected it with a simple swing of his sword. They continued their dance of death, his swings parrying her scythe every time it drew close to cutting him.

Zesshi enjoyed this thoroughly. It was something that she could rarely enjoy. Most people would be broken by now. Ground into mulch by her sheer power before she could fight them.

She continued to cut at him as Gaidar let out a heavy breath, it was ragged. He was tired, he was growing exhausted by how this fight was coming.

"Heh…" Gaidar muttered as he paused to take a breath. "Do you want me to point out how far you've pushed me to win?" Gaidar questioned as he spun his swords, planting one after another in the ground.

"I have not pushed far enough if you are still standing to defeat me." Zesshi said as she hummed and looked at the warrior. "But I'm eager to see how this fight will turn out… It's pushed me a bit further then I thought it would, I'll give you that." Zesshi stated which was greeted by Gaidar humming as he continued to look around.

"Perhaps, but this fight isn't done yet and you know that." Gaidar responded as he brushed off his armor. "You know for a fact that this that this is becoming tiring at this point… Not in energy, but how long this is dragging on at this moment." Gaidar stated which caused Zesshi to hum and look to the side.

Gaidar watched the woman smirk as they continued to circle each other once more. He wanted to make sure that this battle ended sooner or later.

Gaidar lunged forward to end this due in one clash… One final strike that would hopefully put everything to rest. If not? Then he'd be able to rest in peace once more.

Not that it concerned him at this moment… Only the fighting to the end.

This would end with one victor, even if it took everything, he had to end it… Even if it ended up killing him? It'd be worth it in his eyes.
