"Are you certain that it was wise for them to go, your majesty?" King Solomon allowed his hand to fall to his side as his trusted advisor, Mahad, appeared from out of the shadows. Even with the long robe he wore that was decorated with various charms he had gathered from across the seven seas, his built physique could bee seen when a current would cause the cloth to hug his form. He was a part of the long thought extinct race who were with sea horse tails, the most skilled practitioner of the lost arts known in the entire oceanic world, and most trusted advisor of the royal family. "Are you sure that you do not wish for someone to follow at a distance to ensure their safety?" A light shriek sounded as he deftly reached behind the nearby pillar and revealed a disgruntled young woman who pouted as he released her. "And I am surprised that you are not already tailing them, my star pupil."
Mana stuck out her tongue in her master's direction before focusing upon the king who chuckled. "I still can't believe you allowed them to leave!" She too was of the rare species her master was but unlike Mahad, her tail was covered with a pattern of dark mocha spots that stood out against its honey colored base.
The aged king regarded them, their words not surprising him one bit. All knew of how protective he was of his precious grandsons. He wondered though if his affections were doing more harm than good. "For children to grow into adults, they must learn to discover themselves. They had done all they can from within this kingdom's wall. Now it is time for them to test their limits." His chest puffed with pride as he recalled how much both had grown since he had taken them under his fin. Both were fine young mermen and would surely make him even prouder when they returned.
"I know they just left, but anyone have a clue of when they might return?" Mahad quickly shushed his curious apprentice as their king's eyebrow twitched.
