Chapter 3

Discovery

Gaius: Good you are up...now I can give you rules since you are staying here.

Merlina pulls herself up in excitement but gets a rush of pain in her head*

Gaius: careful kid you collected a lot of visions but rules; No wandering, No talking to royalty, No touching my stuff, you have to work for me, and last but least no using your magic whatsoever.

Merlina looks at Gaius crazy and laughs. Gaius looks at merlina seriously*

Merlina: Magic?*laughing*

Gaius: Oh no...I guess your mom did not tell or train you like I said she is always trying to do things by herself this is why you are in trouble now! Now I have to prepare you. That is probably why she sent you to me.

Merlina is still stuck on the magic part. Gaius rambles on about her mother and how she is so secretive and unprepared.

Gaius: Merlina snap out of it! we will talk more about it in the morning but don't mention who your mother is and what you can do or the word magic. Do you understand?

Merlina: *confused*... Uh yeah

Gaius shows Merlina to her room. Merlina then heads to her room and Gaius stays up a little longer. She goes to lay in her bed and the bed is filled with dust. She coughs so hard she felt the table shake she then ignored it and believed it was the earthquakes that have been happening a lot recently. she shakes the bed off and goes to lay down. She stares at the wall thinking about what her uncle said about her having magic she felt as if her whole life was either a lie or Gaius was lying but she does not know him well enough to determine whether he would lie to her or not. Merlina then feels a bit sleepy and heads into her dreams. She goes into a dark dream seeing dark black sand and a catacomb filled with bodies the fear in her body spikes up. she starts to walk forward towards the catacombs and starts to sink into the black sand she looks in front of her and a deer with many antlers appears in a distance and starts to rush towards her as she sinks she screams and closes her eyes and wakes up from her dream. She sees Gauis in front of her.

Gaius: WAKE UP!!... It is getting worse.

Merlina: what is getting worse?

Gaius: Nothing. Get up you have been sleeping all day time to wake up and train.

Merlina: It's very early...

Gaius:So...And you are already up so let's go, we don't got much time, the sun is running .lets get going!

Merlina: okay! okay!

Merlina gets dressed and heads out with Gaius. Trying to keep up with him every step. She passes by the door she fainted in and sees they put a lock on it. she feels guilty that she has made them lock a door but the only thing she can do is go about her day with Gaius.

Gaius: Come on now merlina!

Merlina: I am coming!

Merlina and Gaius finally get to their destination. she looks out and sees a bunch of guys training. They all stare at merlina as she comes in and laughs at her as she walking through the training yard.

Merlina: why are they laughing at me?

Gaius: well not many girls come through the training yard. They believe only men should train here. But they should be leaving in a couple of minutes so we can train here….Stay right here while I get something. Do not move from here merlina!

Merlina watches Gaius walk off to the sword room. Merlina thinks about what Gaius said about not moving but wants to see how the boys fight and move little by little around the circle training ground. she watches one guy fight observing the moves he makes she feels her heart rush as she watches the two boys fight. The boy hits the ground and Gaius taps merlina shoulder the whistles goes off and the training ground starts to clear ups. Merlina then turns around to Gaius and sees a boy with him.

Merlina: Who is this?

Gaius: This will be your training partner.

Nicholas: Heyoo… I am Nicholas

Merlina: Hi, I am mer….*interrupted*

Gaius: no time for introductions lets see what you got merlina.

Merlina goes to the platform with Nicholas. merlina then Gets into an active stance so she can move around easily. Keeping most of her weight on the balls of her feet and bending her knees slightly so she can move around quickly Nicholas goes to hit Merlina. Merlina remembers the fighting from the guys fighting before and flips Nicholas on the ground. Merlina then rolls to the ground takes Nicholas's arm and almost breaks it he then taps out. Merlina gets up to help Nicholas up but he refuses. She looks atGaiuss and he looks pleased.

Gaius: Good job Kiddo! You do got potential after all.

Merlina: uh...thank you My feelings are not hurt at all *jokingly*

Gaius: Now I want you to go get that bucket of rocks to do 36 laps while carrying it around the circle lungeing and I want you to sweep up all the training mats till the sky turns dark.

Merlina: WHAT! TILL NIGHT! Ho….

Gaius: Stop wasting time get to stepping.

Merlina walks towards the bucket of rock and goes to pick it up almost falling she does her first lunge and proceeds to do the rest. 3 hours later merlina finishes her first lap and falls to the floor. she looks up at the castle's window and sees a man in the window staring and he closes it fast she doesn't get a good glimpse. Merlina gets up and starts to sweep the mats the sun is going down little by little. she by her self and she starts to hear noises coming from the outside of the training gates .she drops the floor to the ground and goes to follow the sound she touches the gate to open it and sees the deer she saw in her dream she starts to back up slowing and the deer starts to run at her leaving a black ghost trail. Merlina starts to panic and feels electricity in her body it lights up the ground creating a big blue halo on the ground around merlina. Gaius then grabs merlina to walk her up. Merlina gets up from the ground and looks at Gaius in shock.

Gaius: What did you see again?

Merlina: again? What do you mean Again? Has this happened before?

Gaius: Yes it happens when your sleep just like your mother….What did you see merlina?

Merlina: I saw a deer with huge antlers it had black ghost dust coming from it and Its eyes were caved in.

Gaius: It is coming faster than I thought.

Merlina: whats is coming?

Gaius: Nothing…. let's go inside we will be training earlier in the morning before the boys start their training.
