The evening was nigh when the bounty hunters made it to the cantina the fob had lead them to.
"We'll split up inside. Here's a com so we can communicate."
Isla puts the small device in her ear and both of them walk in to survey the place. It was busy there was barely any walking room.
It was then Din spotted their quarry sitting at the bar.
"I found him. He's at the bar." He said into the com.
Isla, without being obvious, looked and saw who they were looking for.
"I got this. Meet me in the alley way in ten minutes and lay low in the mean time."
"What?"
"Just do it."
Isla made her way to the bar with Din watching her from the back of the cantina.
It took the twi'lek maybe a few seconds to look at her after she sat next to him. He spoke first but he couldn't make out what they were saying. With a push of a button his helmet began to emmit the clearest audio of their conversation he could get un the crowded building.
"A pretty woman like you shouldn't be drinking alone. May I buy you a drink?"
"Id be much obliged, thank you."
"Well, that's a first."
"What?"
"You're the first woman to accept my offer tonight."
"Well that's quite a shame. You're a very handsome gentleman."
Din's blood began to boil and he clenched his fists tight. It took almost everything inside him to not push his way to them and rip the twi'lek out of his seat. However now was not the time and he needed to keep his cool.
"You know, my ship isnt far from here. I could take you there so we can talk better. Its very loud."
"Sir, you are quite forward."
"In this life we don't exactly have much time to waste, do we?"
With a smile and a nod, the two get up and make their way out the back to the alley where Isla said they would be. It was a dark and smelled of dead rodents. She walked behind him as a safety percaution and kept her eyes peeled for where her partner may show up.
Suddenly the twi'lek turned around and punched Isla square in the face. She fell to the ground stunned due to the blow being unexpected but got back up fairly quickly. She swung a punch that hit him hard but he shook it off.
The knife in her waist band came out and with a sharp lunge she managed to slice the Twi'lek's arm as he jumped back. He roared with anger charging full speed at her. Isla was grabbed by the neck and wrist before being pinned against a wall.
"Bitch, who sent you?!" He hissed in her face as she gasped for air.
The Twi'lek's grip tightened and he lifted her to where they were face to face which took some doing as Isla was very short. Her legs kicked from being around a foot off the ground along with the feeling of the oxygen leaving her body as she struggled.
"Now, you're going to tell me who put a bounty on me or I'm going to fill you with holes."
The familiar sound of a knife being pulled from its sheath entered her ear canal
"You know what, instead of filling you with holes I think I'll just fill one myself.
The twi'lek cut the leg all the way up to the waistband of her pants as well as some of her thigh. The pain was followed by the warm, wet sensation of blood soaking the fabric to her skin. Just as her vision began to go blurry he pulled her pants to her ankles with a sharp yank. All of a sudden gravity pulled her to the ground where she landed with a hard thud.
Isla barely noticed the struggle happening before her as her lungs gasped for air. Her throat burned and with every breath she coughed and wheezed. A blaster shot began to bring her back to her surroundings. Using the side of the building to brace herself, Isla pulled up her ruined pants to cover herself best she could.
"Isla?"
An all too recognized modulated voice filled her ears in the darkness.
A painful moan came from a few feet away. Din left her side and went to cuff the bounty that had just assaulted her so he couldn't move. Almost immediately he came back to her side.
"Are you alright?"
Din put his arm around her causing her body to replace her adrenaline with rage.
"Where were you?!" Isla screamed or at least tried and gave the Mandalorian a hard shove.
Any attempts to console his partner were thrawrted by by her trying to physically attack him. The pain in her leg crept up on her suddenly giving him the chance to get her to listen to him.
"Isla, I'm sorry. Come on, I'll get you cleaned up." Din softly says to her trying to get her to accept his touch.
When she finally let him touch her she was shaking like a leaf. Din scooped Isla into his arms and made his way back to the ship leaving their injured quarry behind.
The trembling of Isla's body stopped right before they reached the hanger the Crest was sitting waiting for them. Once inside, Din sat her down on the floor of the hull and began to inspect her face.
The darkness of the alley camouflaged the entirety of Isla's injuries. Isla's mouth was caked with dried blood and there was a cut on her swollen, lower lip. He could tell she was blocking everything out just by her facial expression.
"Hey." Says din softly trying to get her attention.
He turns her chin so she would look at him. Her eyes refused to meet his so he resumed tending to her.
Cleaning the blood from her face made him feel so much regret. He should've stopped her from luring him outside. Now she was beaten and possibly going to be upset with him for a long time for not being out there to prevent what had transpired. It wasn't his fault, a few whores saw his beskar and tried hard to keep him around them.
The cut on Isla's leg wasn't deep.. It didn't take long to disinfect and dress it. The bacta spray would have it healed quickly so she wouldn't be in much pain.
Just as Din lifted her chin to look at her neck, Isla stood up with a wince from the cut in her thigh.
"You need to sit."
Ignoring him was one of the things she was very good at but this time he would not have it. Gently, Din took hold of her arm so she couldn't go anywhere.
"Do. Not. Touch. Me..." Isla spits wrenching her arm away from him.
The door to the pod closes with her inside of it and Din wondering as to what he could do. One thing popped into his mind. It would be quick but he would have to leave Isla by herself.
With a quick pound to the door, the Mandalorian announced he would be back soon and left the Razor Crest blaster in hand.
Isla ignored her partner calling to her from outside the door and sat on her bunk to try to take care of herself. Gingerly, Isla removed her pants to see how badly they were cut. They were able to be mended but it would look a bit trashy not that she really cared.
It was then she noticed that her dressing was soaked through. Upon removing it she saw why.
"That dumb..."
Her cut needed sutuers and Din had not told her so. Then again she could've looked after her own wounds but even she knew that her brain was in a fog before. Isla found her satchel and pulled out a small pouch that contained a curved needle and thread.
Five painful minutes went by before the job was finished with as much precision as possible. Afterwards her body made her lay back from the exhaustion that hit her like a ton of bricks. The events of what had occurred replayed her head and it made her face hot with anger.
How could she have let him subdue her so easily? It was mortifying. Granted Din shouldve been out there waiting for them otherwise there wouldn't have been time for the Twi'lek to attack her in the first place.
What really bothered Isla however was how close she was to being violated by the alien. He had gotten her pants down and was only a minute from having his way about her. It made her feel disgusting. Even though Din had stopped the rape from happening she still felt very violated and she wasnt sure why.
Rather than ponder about the serious blow to her self esteem, Isla began to dift off into a much needed sleep. How long she slept was a mystery to her but the feeling of being watched is what woke her up. When she opened her eyes Din was standing over her causing her to jump and pull her fist back from instinct.
"What the fuck, man? What do you want?" Isla demands.
"I was checking on you."
"Well I dont need you to."
"Oh well."
Isla sat up and rubbed her eyes before attempting to get up.
"We're about to land on Navarro. I think you should get dressed."
Confusion stuck her.
"What? How long was I asleep?"
"About nine hours."
Din sat down next to her and brushed a lock of hair from her face. His fingers tilt her head so he could look at the forming bruise around her neck. Her lip was still swollen and there was another bruise forming on the corner of her mouth. Seeing her bruised up made him feel shitty. Very shitty.
"I'm sorry. I was delayed and I didn't mean to be." Says Din softly.
"Its done with. I'll be alright once I have a drink."
Drowning herself in some spotchka would do her wonders right about now. As would being able to ge off the ship and smoke some green leaf. Can't smoke on the ship unfortunately.
"Its not okay with me," The Mandalorian tells her cupping her cheek, "I don't like seeing you hurt. It hurts me too."
Hearing his words made her attitude soften.
She leaned into his touch wishing that she felt skin rather than leather.
Beeping from his vabrance interrupted the tender moment and Din left to go land the ship. Isla sat there on her bunk and sighed heavily before putting her pants back on. Her heart was swollen and heavy and it had been for a long time. There was a secret she held that she wanted to share with him but could not. Its been a secret kept too long but there wasn't an easy way to tell him as she was too afraid to tell him when the secret first came about.
One day. That's what she told herself. One day.
