Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Witch and Warlock. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own ReZero, Tappei and a few others do.

Landon knew for a fact that Echidna was not to be trusted. He knew the witch was someone that enjoyed keeping secrets while saying nothing more about anyone or anything.

Still? He didn't fear her, Echidna had sought her out. Not vice versa. That meant she needed something that he had… It still fascinated him that the witch of knowledge didn't know something.

"My, you are something special, aren't you?" Echidna asked while looking at the warlock. "Someone that holds such power, yet never uses it." Echidna stated which caused him to chuckle with amusement.

"And yet you still have knowledge… But not what I know." Landon stated which caused Echidna to pout. "And yet you act so about everyone… Yet you don't know everything at the moment." Landon said while pondering to himself.

"Don't forget you only live because I demand it." Echidna stated which caused Landon to hum. "If I wanted, you would be dead, and there would be nothing you could do to stop it." Echidna added while Landon held up his hand.

"The book of the abyss doesn't belong to those who corrupt and pervert it's gifts…" Landon said and pointed at Echidna. "I don't burn down villages to get what I want, Witch of Knowledge. You will not get something that you did not earn…" Landon said and turned away.

"And what is it if you I want?" Echidna asked, leaning over Landon who blinked. "A servant, someone who would act in my best interests… Tend to my needs, hmm?" Echidna purred before Landon ripped himself away.

"Don't you act like that!" Landon said, blushing as he cursed. "I cannot believe that anyone would be like this… Your not getting the book, Echidna. I don't want a single bit of yammering from you… It will NOT effect things." Landon said and slowly backed away with frustration.

"Don't think you can escape these lands, Landon…" Echidna stated and crossed her arms, everything in my dimeson is under my control… Just like everything will be either under my leadership… Or destroyed with everything else." Echidna added which was greeted by Landon turning around.

He walked away with interest. Landon could only ponder what would happen next. There would be far more things to cut them down.

"Ugh, your hurting my head, witch." Landon added while he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

Landon could only ponder what she wanted. Landon knew for a fact that she wanted something… But he couldn't tell what she desired, and that scared him far more than anything should…. Then anything could.

Landon could only hope Echidna left him alone, but the witch looked amused… Like Landon trying to fight her amused her more than anything. That was a scary thought that could not be shaken.

"Run along, Landon… I will find you sooner or later." Echidna added while she looked to the side. "You will not leave at the moment… Not till I have what I desire… And you know that will not come anytime soon." Echidna added while chuckling to herself.

Landon said nothing and walked away at the moment. He needed to get his head together. Echidna's words burrowed into the back of his mind.

The witch said nothing while allowing her prey to escape. She enjoyed Landon trying to fight her. They were evenly matched, and that meant she could defeat him by simply allowing him to wear himself down.

Besides, there wasn't an escape from her realm. She could only escape this world, nothing else could at the moment. Landon would simply wonder the world, unable to find a out… Because she controlled the outs.

And she wouldn't allow it. Landon had knowledge and power that she wanted… But he would not give it up. Something would break sooner or later, her patience, or his sanity.

"You will suffer, Landon… And you will be mine." Echidna stated while tapping on her hands. "I will cut you to pieces if I have you, but that book? YOU? I will break you sooner or later." Echidna stated and tapped on her teacups.

Landon would return, and she would await him. By then? She would have broken him. Nothing would allow him to think of anything else at the moment… Escape was impossible at the moment.

"This game of cat and mouse would be impossible… And it will be PERFECT." Echidna stated as Landon hummed from far away.

Landon said nothing, pondering what came next. There would be far away such things to prepare for at the moment… Yes, such wonderful things that hopefully could be dealt with soon enough.

Landon sighed and rubbed at his temples while shaking his head.

Landon paused for a moment, curious as to what was cutting through his head.

He had a feeling these twisted games were only just beginning… And such things?

He couldn't ponder.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be delayed soon and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Landon and Echidna talking more and showing how different Landon is from her and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
