Sisters of the ISS Enterprise stick together.

"Oh my, Mister Spock, that's a mighty large weapon you're wielding there."

Spock pivoted away from his sparring partner to see Lieutenant Uhura standing in the gymnasium's doorway with a wide eye look on her face. He bowed to his partner and approached Uhura still holding said weapon.

"Lieutenant Uhura, why are you here? How did you get past my guard?" Spock looked over her head to stare at Stenn.

"Mr. Stenn and I are old friends." She waved a hand in dismissal. "And I'm here because the ship received a message from Vulcan."

"And you found it necessary to deliver it to me personally? Are the intercoms not functioning properly?"

"It was a coded message addressed to you personally. I don't know what it's about, I couldn't decipher it."

"Yet I have no doubt you tried."

"You are correct, knowledge is power. I intercepted it before the captain was aware of it. I didn't think you'd want it falling into the wrong hands. A coded message from Vulcan could be valuable to someone."

"Yes, indeed it could," Spock said. He hefted the blade he was practicing with and with impressive control let the business end stop just shy of Uhura's face.

"This is the Lirpa," he said calmly. "My forefathers have used this blade to vanquish Vulcan's enemies for centuries."

Uhura took a step closer to Spock and the blade he was pointing at her. "Can I touch it? Your um... weapon. The Lypa right?"

Spock studied the lieutenant for a moment. She didn't fear him which was a mistake. The Lirpa blade was razor-sharp and mere inches from her throat. In one simple flex of his muscle, he could decapitate her.

"Lirpa. And it's quite dangerous," he told her.

"That's alright, I know how to handle a blade." She pulled out her own stiletto and showed it to him.

Spock knew she carried a blade for protection and it posed no real threat to him, but still, Stenn should have disarmed her. He resisted the urge to smile at her humble offering. "Mine is considerably larger," he told her.

She looked him up and down with a cheeky grin, "I should hope so."

"Lieutenant, you have a message for me?" he asked returning to the subject at hand.

"Oh yeah," She bent over slowly to tuck away her blade and to emphasize her assets to Spock no doubt. She reached into her cleavage and pulled out a record tape.

Spock reached for it and she quickly drew her hand back. "Mister Spock, I risked my er..." She looked at the lirpa in his other hand, "neck to bring this to you."

"Thank you," he said, his hand was still extended to receive the tape.

"You can do better than that."

"Thank you very much?" He said.

"What about dinner?"

Spock quirked his brow, "What about it?"

"What about you invite me to dinner as a reward?"

"Lieutenant Uhura, why are you pursuing me?"

"Why shouldn't I?"

"I am a Vulcan."

"You are a man and I'm a woman. Life begins with just one man and one woman. Simple."

"You are a human woman. Nothing about you is simple."

"So? Spock, are you xenophobic?"

"That is illogical."

"What is illogical is you being afraid of little ol' me." She pouted.

"I do not fear you."

"Then have dinner with me. I won't bite. Unless you're into that kinda thing?" She raised her brow in question.

"Lieutenant Uhura-" Spock didn't know how to respond, women didn't proposition him, they usually feared him.

"Nyota. My name is Nyota."

Spock sighed, "Nyota you are incorrigible."

"Oh, I don't know. I think you could corrige me. Anyway, you're welcome to try." She handed him the record tape but still didn't release it. She held on long enough for their fingers to touch. "Don't say no just yet. Give it some thought."

Spock had thought about Nyota Uhura more than was logical already. He was not immune to her considerable charm and she was very attractive.

"I shall consider it."

"Hey, Charlene! Tell me, what do you know about Vulcans?" Uhura asked her friend when they met one night in her quarters.

"Not a damn thing. Why?"

"I'm just interested in them," she said.

"Don't tell me you've managed to snag one of Mr. Spock's elite guard? I didn't even think they liked women. They all keep to their own kind."

"Psh, no. I'm not interested in any old guard, though Stenn is fine. No, I'm after THE man himself."

"Mister Spock? Why? He's just like them only more so."

"So, why not Spock? He's hot."

"He's a Vulcan that's why. Everybody knows you don't fuck with Vulcans."

Uhura crossed her arms defensively. "So what? You were down for it when you thought it was his guard."

"I wasn't down for anything but you have to admit Mister Spock isn't exactly friendly even for a Vulcan. Besides his guards are at least built like a brick house. Spock, not so much."

"Spock has a sinister kind of beauty. I like it."

"I bet you do. Well, I don't know anything about Vulcans except the rumors that go around the Empire. If you really want to know about him ask Dr. Chapel."

"Dr. Chapel? You mean Christine?"

"Yeah."

"Since when did she become a doctor?"

"Rumor has it she bumped off M'Benga a few weeks ago. He disappeared anyway."

"Oh? Good for her. He was a prick. But why didn't she knock off McCoy, he's the real bastard?"

"He's still under Kirk's wing. He'll get his one day no doubt."

"That day cannot come soon enough. So you think Christine will know about Vulcans?"

"Sure, she's the ranking xenobiologist since M'Benga disappeared. Just be careful with her, she's a Sister."

"A Sister?"

"Yeah, she likes women."

"Oh. Well, I'm strictly dickly so she'll have to look elsewhere. Besides just because she likes women doesn't mean she likes every single female. I don't see you trying to jump down my pants."

"You just haven't been paying enough attention," Charlene joked.

"Hush, I already told you what I like. You don't have the right equipment."

"Ooh baby I've got all the equipment you need back in my cabin, and it's rechargeable too. We can play all night."

"Stop it, Charlene. You don't have everything I need. You lack a little hair on your chest and your chin."

"Now you're just being picky. Why do you want to bother with those old smelly men? They're dangerous."

"I don't want to, it's not a choice. I was just born this way. I wish I could be more like you though and not have to bother fighting for a man to survive this hellhole."

"You don't have to have a man. You can be whatever you want."

"I want to be Spock's woman."

Charlene rolled her eyes. She just didn't understand the obsession. "Okay then. I'll do everything I can to help you get him. Sister or not, I've got your back."
