Hi so here is my fourth submission for 9 days and I just wanted to warn people that I've been making some of these submissions a mix of just fluff and then some that are angsty and I think this story is the most angsty thing I've written so far which has been fun. So anyway, I hope everyone enjoys it and is doing well. Oh, and the song theme for this chapter is Hold onto me by Mayday Parade.

Feeling his body shake from the impact of the blows Jaune barely managed to lift his shield in time to block the strike from the crazed man as he kept his eyes on his arms, certain that his wrist blades were deadly. The force of the blow still knocked him backwards reverberating into his body even though he was doing his best to keep his footing and not slide backwards.

Luckily for him he wasn't alone and the rest of team Ranger were making sure to keep Tyrian pressured the moment the gap was created Ruby zipped forward as a burst of petals using an overhead swing with Crescent Rose that he was forced to block, but was then unable to block Nora's strike as she hit him with Magnhild sending him flying to the ground. He skidded for a bit caught off guard from the attack before he rolled back onto his feet.

He had caught them unaware when he attacked them while they were on a mission and Jaune was sure that he was on the orders of Salem to bring her Ruby, but he refused to let that happen, they refused to let that happen. Looking to his three teammates fighting Tyrian currently he went forward ready to help them.

It was time to Tyrian just how much they had improved together.

When he got close enough, he had been there just in time for Nora to be knocked back but by spring boarding off his shield she had come close again quickly smashing her hammer against his face to daze him from the impact. Which was when Jaune surged forward using his semblance to augment his strength he bashed his shield into their opponent's arm knocking his guard open as Ren kicked him towards Jaune giving him the opportunity to slash at Tyrian dealing a clean hit as he sliced into his chest.

With aura he wasn't able to cut into him but he was sure to do damage to his aura, before he quickly raised his shield to block the strike from Tyrian's new augmented tail causing Jaune to be knocked backwards, Tyrian then tried to attack again but Ren quickly stepped forward to buy Jaune time slashing at Tyrian with his blades before he was kicked away his aura breaking as he hit his head against a wall leaving him dazed.

"Ren are you okay?" Nora asked in worry calling to him as she looked towards his still body, Tyrian took advantage of her distraction by slashing at her with his arm blades leaving deep cuts against her midsection making her fall back holding her waist with one hand barely being able to block the next attack in time. Ruby then made sure to cover her as she fired Crescent rose to boost her momentum slashing at his back making him focus on her.

Jaune quickly pulled himself up as he stood looking to his team as he made a snap decision "Nora go check on Ren, make sure you two stay guarded" he ordered them knowing that they just needed to buy time for the Ace Ops and Qrow to get here as he moved inwards to the fight seeing Tyrian about to hit Ruby with his tail after he managed to parry one of her attacks.

Luckily for them Jaune had managed to get there in time and instead of his cybernetic tail piercing through Ruby, there was instead a loud ding of metal against metal as Jaune deflected the blow breathing heavy as he felt a pain in his chest. The thought of losing Ruby made it hard for him to breath like there was a weight on his chest.

Tyrians crazed cackle filled his ears as Ruby gasped knocking Tyrian away from them. Moving forward as Jaune got ready to re-join the fight before he felt his body seize falling to the ground like a heavy stone.

"Jaune" Ruby called out in worry dodging Tyrian's attack while Jaune began to slowly lose consciousness his hand going to his chest as he felt a felt a warm liquid coming from an inch away from where his heart is, the smell of copper filling his senses as he thought of the family he wanted to have with Ruby.

His hands numbly moving closer to his chest he as cold blackness began to seep into his vision Jaune did his best to keep himself awake clenching his fist around a heart necklace Ruby had given him for their anniversary, he had always been wearing it close to heart to match the one necklace he had given her, now he just hoped that she would forgive him for letting it get broken.

Hey so hopefully people had enjoyed the story and by the way this is more of a part one thing with part two being tomorrow's submission hope this was liked had a very different theme to what I've been doing recently.
