Chapter 3
In an airship with three other members of the Phoenix clan, Kuni had her arms crossed, leaning against the wall of the ship. Glancing around, Kuni made notes of the team she had with her.
Reed the typical 'hacker' type that you would see in spy movies, leaned against the far wall of the ship. He was the guy behind the monitor. Tech savy, bit of a smartass, always thinking ten steps ahead. His attire spoke differently, though. Wearing casual clothes, a red hoodie with holes in the hood for his raccoon ears, loose fitting black jeans and sneakers. Reed wasn't exactly the social type. He'd rather be inside his own head than strike up a conversation.
Mick, on the other hand, was the 'thief'. Always wearing dark clothes. He was the one who'd get in and out of a building before anyone suspected a thing. Quick and quiet.
His fluffy cat tail only added to the stereotype.
Now lastly, Natasha, she was the 'tactician'. If you want a job done right, do it yourself. Unless, Natasha was with you. Her mind was always working to evaluate any given situation. With her guiding you, your odds of success are damn near a hundred percent.
She donned a violet tank top, dark blue short shorts, and lilac sneakers. A set of fluffy, white, wings were folded behind her, and a pair of glasses also sat on the bridge of her nose. They held a special mechanism that allowed Natasha to see the inner workings of any building in her view.
This team was hand picked by Ai. She wanted to guarantee the success of this task.
Taking a look out the window, Kuni saw that they were quickly approaching Beacon.
Minutes later
Arriving at the landing pad, the four Phoenix clan members left the ship.
"Never been to a Huntsman academy before." Natasha said. "Pretty gaudy."
Kuni took a glance around, seeing countless other students, from other Huntsman academies, visiting for the Vytal Festival.
"Come on." Kuni began heading for one of the many dorms. "We're here on a mission, not to sightsee."
"Right."
A few hours later
After a brief introduction to the school, as well as an explanation for the Vytal Festival, the students were free to explore. The Phoenix clan members used that time to gather as much info as possible.
Which wasn't much.
Other than the usual facts about Ozpin, no one really seemed to know much else.
Sitting in sparring class, among countless other students, Kuni and the others blended in. After changing in the dorm room they were given, the four of them sat in Haven uniforms. While waiting for the teacher, Kuni's fox ears were suddenly, and violently, pulled.
Yelping in pain, Kuni turned around to see four other students were laughing. Glaring at, who she assumed to be, the leader, he seemed to be the type of cocky jackass who think he can't be touched. Noticing her glare, the leader stared directly at Kuni with a shit eating grin on his face.
"What the hell're you looking at?" The boy taunted.
Before another word could be said, Natasha threw a punch directly into the boy's throat, causing him to reel back. As he tried to recover, Natasha thew another punch right to his nose. Moving his hands from his throat to his, now bleeding, nose, the boy could only stare in shock.
His team quickly got to their feet after the initial shock, their fists clenched and ready to fight. However, they quickly fell silent when the teacher, a blonde woman with blonde hair and glasses, walked onto the stage.
"Alright." The teacher spoke. "I am Ms. Goodwitch." She said, introducing herself to the transfer students. "Now, as you all should know, the Vytal Festival is quickly approaching. "A major part of the festival is the tournament. So, today, we will be practicing mock battles. Now, let's jump right in." Goodwitch began tapping on her scroll. "Would-"
"I would like to volunteer!"
Glancing back, the leader of the team behind Kuni stood up.
Goodwitch looked to the boy before back to her scroll.
"Alright. Let's find you an opponent."
"Actually." The boy said, getting the teacher's attention again. "I would like to fight her!"
He pointed at Natasha.
Goodwitch looked from him to Natasha before letting out a sigh.
"Alright. Mr. Winchester. Ms. Lockhart. Would you two please retrieve your weapons and take the stage."
On the screens around the room displayed their profiles, showing Natasha and the boy, whose name was displayed on the bottom of the screen.
"Cardin."
Heading out of the room to change and get their weapons, the two returned after just a few short minutes. Taking the center of the stage, Natasha, held a revolver looking gun with a duel bayonet under the barrel. Placing a hand on her hip, Natasha tapped her gun against her leg, waiting for Cardin to ready himself.
Wielding a mace, Cardin glared at Natasha whilst Natasha seemed like she had better places to be.
"Okay." Goodwitch tapped a few buttons on her scroll. "Ready. Begin."
