Jaune and Courage the Cowardly Dog

Chap 2 Part 2: Dr. Le Quack Amnesia Specialist

I was outside on the porch of the house eating a sandwich while petting Courage who was sleeping next to me. It was a beautiful day today. And by that, I mean it was not melting hot like it usually is. Or maybe that is just me as I did grow up in a cold place and the Arc family always made me sleep in the coldest room as they said only worthy people get heating in their room. But aside from that painful memory resurfacing, it was going to be a good day.

It has been a week since the shadow incident. And every night before I go to sleep, I would look up to the sky to see if I can spot the shadow again. While I am not sure if I did spot him a few times, I do have strong feeling that he did see me looking for him. It made me chuckle a bit thinking that. Looking down at Courage, I saw that he was on his back on the pillow Muriel made for him. His tongue was hanging out as I continued to scratch his stomach.

Hearing the door open, we both looked towards and saw Muriel with a frown coming out. Curious, we got up and followed her around the house. Hearing some banging, we looked up and saw that Eustace was working on the roof. Though for what reason, I was not sure.

"Eustace?" She called out but got no response. "Eustace!" She tried again but got the same result. However, the banging stopped this time. "Eustace!" She shouted again but all she got in return was Eustace going back to hammering again. But this was quickly followed by a pained scream as Eustace apparently hit his finger with his hammer.

"OW!" He screamed out in pain.

"Eustace, will you stop that noise?" Muriel asked upset. "You'll wake the neighbors."

'What neighbors?! The closest people around are in the town of nowhere a good five miles away.' I thought as I looked around.

"We ain't got no neighbors." Eustace exclaimed after a moment. He then went back to work and began hammering again. But as soon as his hammer hit the roof, a piece of wood flew away and hit Muriel on the head. Bring her to the floor.

'NO!' Courage screamed as he saw that happen. We both were immediately at her side helping her up.

"What?" Eustace asked confused as he looked down from the roof. Eustace immediately got down from the roof and helped me bring Muriel inside with Courage opening the front door for us.

"Oh, my head." She said as we entered the living room, we helped her sit down in her rocking chair before taking a step back to give her space.

"This is a lovely room." She said with admiration as she looked around. This immediately set off another set of red flags for me.

"Eh?" Eustace said confused.

"And what a comfy chair." Muriel continued as she began rocking back and forth.

"What?" Eustace asked even more confused now. He then grabbed the cup of tea from the table next to him. "Here. Drink some tea." But instead of taking the cup, she reached out and grabbed the picture that was also on the table.

"Aw, what a nice couple." She said as she admired the picture. The picture being them on their wedding day. "Who are they?" At this, Courage immediately ran to the side of the room.

'Oh, there's something wrong here. Or my name is Jose Santos De Guatemala...' Courage said as he began pacing around back and forth. 'And it's not.'

"Ah, juts some old rotten couple." Eustace answered as he took the picture from her. "Go ahead. Drink your tea."

"Thank you. You're a very nice man." Muriel said as she took the tea and began rocking in the chair again. "What's your name?"

'Crap! Does she have amnesia?!' I thought concerned when I heard that.

"What's my name?" Eustace asked confused. But I could very clearly see the cogs in his head working again. "Hey now. What's your name?" Instead of answering, Muriel simply shrugged her shoulders. Eustace scratched his head for a moment before pointing at Courage.

"Well, what's his name?" He asked. Muriel looked over at Courage who smiled and waved at her. She looked over at Courage for a moment before answering.

"I've never seen him before in my life." She answered. Eustace smiled at this before grabbing Courage and kicking him out of the house. He then grabbed me and tossed me out as well before slamming the door shut and locking it.

Steading myself from Eustace tossing me out, I looked around and saw Courage already up and running towards the widow that looks into the living room. Following him, we both looked into the window and saw Eustace with an evil grin as he rubbed his hands together. He then began addressing Muriel in a way that pissed me off.

"Muriel." He said pointing to her. Then he pointed to himself. "Eustace." And then back to her. "Slave woman. Your job is cleaning, cooking, shopping, laundry and anything else I can think of." He told her as he sat down on his chair and pulled out a newspaper from underneath. "Now get me dinner!" Muriel nodded and ran off to the kitchen as Eustace laughed all the while.

'That bastard.' I thought as I let out a small growl. Looking to my side, I was about to ask Courage what we should do when I saw that he was no longer there. Looking around, I spotted Courage on the branch of a nearby tree.

'What is he doing?' I wondered. Then I saw he swing on a vine that was there for some reason. Curious, I followed his movement to see that he used the vine to swing to my room. But instead of landing softly or grabbing the window, he went through the window. Breaking it in the process. 'Great. Now I have to fix that.' Deciding to leave that for later, I moved to the front of the house and grabbed onto the support beam for the patio and began to climb. Getting on top of the patio roof, I pumped some aura into my legs to help me jump a bit high in order to reach the window sill. Grabbing onto the window, I opened it and climbed into my room where I saw Courage on the Computer typing away frantically, Gettig up, I walked over to him, just in time for the computer to answer whatever Courage typed.

"Well, you don't have to hit so hard." The computer complained.

"What did you search for Courage?" I asked him.

"He searched for an amnesia specialist. You twit." The computer answered. "One is already on his way."

"Good thinking Courage." I told him as I patted his head.

"I heard something!" The voice of Eustace said surprising us. Quickly grabbing Courage's paw, we jumped out the window so to avoid getting caught just as Eustace opened the door and entered. While I don't have much combat experience, I can easily knock him out. But the thing is, I don't want to hurt him since he is the husband of Muriel. And I am not sure if she will forgive me if I do so. Taking a risk and peeking inside, I saw Eustace look around for a moment before leaving and closing the door.

"He's gone now. Why don't we wait here for the amnesia specialist to arrive?" I asked Courage. He agreed with this and sat down next to me. I place my hand on his hand and started petting him a bit in order to keep hm calm. About half an hour later, I saw a figure in the distance. Courage saw this too and grew excited thinking this was the specialist he called for. But as I looked closely, I became dumbfounded at what I saw.

'A duck! A freaking duck answered the call!' I mentally exclaimed as I saw the duck come closer to the farm. 'What else am I going to see today?! A giant mouse?!' Looking a bit closer, I saw that this duck was wearing a fake mustache that kind of look like horns.

"Something does not feel right Courage. Let's have a closer look." I told him. He seemed confused but agreed. Jumping down from the roof of the porch, we quickly went around to the side to avoid being seen. Just in time as well as the duck reached the front of the farm and knocked on the door.

"We don't want any." Eustace said immediately as he opened the door to answer.

"Voila! Moi Carde." The duck said as he handed Eustace a gigantic purple card. "I am Dr. Le Quack. Are you the patient?"

"Who?" Eustace asked confused.

"Who is the patient?" The duck asked.

"What?" Eustace asked but instead of giving time to answer, he threw the card away and attempted to shut the door. But the duck put his fin in front of the door to stop it from closing.

"I am an amnesia specialist and have been sent for." Le Quack explained.

"I didn't send for you." Eustace countered.

"No?" Le Quack asked before bringing out a giant mallet and hitting Eustace over the head with it. Knocking him out completely. "Remember now?" He then dragged Eustace inside, all the while laughing like a mad man, Or duck.

"This is bad." I told Courage who howled at what he just saw.

'What have I done?' Courage asked himself.

"Take it easy. There was no way we could have known he would have been called for." I said trying to reassure him and keep him calm. Instead of listening, he went over to the window to look inside. Following him, I did the same and saw the duck drag Eustace into the closet and close the door.

'We gotta save Muriel.' Courage said before rushing inside the house. Quickly running after him, I made my way inside where I saw Courage mumbling to Muriel who looked annoyed at him.

"What are you doing dog? Get away!" She said while pulling her arm away from Courage. Reaching them, I was about to try and explain to her what was happening when I head the duck enter the room.

"Quest Ce Que" Le Quack said as he saw us. I turned to face him and was about to confront him when I heard Courage screamed next to me. Looking to him, I saw his tongue stick out as if itself got scared and the rest of his fur standing straight as if he got electrocuted. But what surprised me was the fact that while he was screaming, he was not touching the floor at all. He above the floor the whole time.

'What the?!' I thought as I saw that. Turning back to the duck, I was about to ask what he was doing to see that he was walking towards us and pulled out his giant mallet again.

"Who is the patient?" He asked with a deranged smile.

Seeing him say that with a giant mallet and crazed face brought back memories of Nora having a fun time with her giant hammer. Not wanting to take a chance and relive those memories, I grabbed Courage by the paw and ran away from the duck. Looking back, I saw that he was chasing us with a deranged look on his face. Entering the kitchen, we opened the door and exited the house and closed the door as well. Needing to hide, I went around the house so as to not be seen. I was about to grab courage as well but saw that he somehow jumped above the door frame and was now clinging onto the wood itself. I was about to question how he did that when I heard the door opening. Quickly pressing myself against the wall, I waited in silence for the duck to go back inside. Luckily, he did so after a minute and did not notice either of us.

"You can come down now Courage." I said to him once I was sure the duck could not hear us. Nodding courage let go of the wall and fell back own. I caught him so he did not hurt himself on the way down. Nodding his thanks, he went around to the house to the same window to look inside. Doing the same, we saw Muriel tied up I rope and on the couch. Not sure what to make of this, I looked to the side and saw the duck begin to tickle Muriel's foot with a comically large feather. Seeing this, Courage rushed around the house to the front and entered. Following him, I saw that he from somewhere, precured a ginormous fan and used it to blow the duck away. Annoyed, the duck began to chase Courage out the back. Fortunately, he did not see me which gave me the opportunity to free Muriel.

"Don't worry Muriel. I got you." I told her as I started to untie her.

"Thank you, whoever you are." She said with a smile. Hearing those word pained me for some reason. Maybe it because the first lady to truly care for me and treat me like a family member does not remember me. All the more reason to try and get her memory back.

"What are you doing?!" I head the duck say suddenly.

Looking to my left, I saw the duck running to me with his mallet. I quickly got up and ran for the door. Opening it, I exited the house but made sure to close the door just as the duck was about to reach me so he hit the door instead. Looking around, I saw a pole vault crossbar next to the porch. Figuring Courage used it to get inside the house again, I began to climb it to get to my room. Reaching the top, I opened the window and entered the room where I saw Courage typing on the computer again. But was only able to catch the last part of what he was typing.

'...Man robbing house.' He said frantically as he typed. I was about to ask what he was sending and to who but hearing Muriel scream prevented me from doing so.

"Muriel!" I said in a panic and raced to the door and headed downstairs with Courage hot on my heels. Once down, I saw that Muriel was tied up again but this time in her chair.

'What the heck is going on?' I mentally shouted as I saw that the duck now has about a thousand pies with him and set up a train track that goes to him and underneath Muriel. There was a train going around as well. As soon as the train reached the duck, he stopped it and placed a ginormous pie in front of it and made it go again.

"Now. Do you remember where is your piggy bank?" The duck questioned Muriel who just shrugged her shoulder to say no. "Pity." He said as he made the train speed up and have the pie hit Muriel.

'What to do? What to- oh. I got it.' I thought before turning to Courage. Only to see him sneaking across the floor to the tv. Curious, I leaned in and saw that he grabbed two wires from the tv and connected them to the train track. "Well, at least he is doing what I was going to say to do."

Soon the duck spotted him and started to run to Courage. Taking this opportunity, I made the rest of the way downstairs and went over to Muriel and begin to untie her again. But also clean her face a bit as it was covered in pie. Just as I finished cleaning Muriel's face, I heard a small explosion. Turning around, I saw that the duck had jumped over the bridge in the train tracks just as the train was coming. Only to be stopped as the train exploded right underneath him. But after the explosion, instead of falling to the ground, he remained in the air.

"How annoying." he said before softly landing on the floor.

'Don't bother questioning it Jaune. Just keep your focus on helping Muriel.' I told myself as I began to untie her. But as I finished untying her, the duck began to chase us with his mallet again. Running back to the kitchen and exiting again, this time I hid behind Eustace's truck. While Courage somehow disguised himself as a plant. Looking back at the house, the duck had gone back inside. Signaling to Courage that it was safe; he exited the plant pot he was in and went to the front of the house. Following him, I saw that he was now inside a giant catapult.

"I am not even going to question it at this point." I said giving up any chance or hope at seeing something normal today.

'We gotta get help.' Courage said pulling the rope to make the catapult launch him back to my room. But instead of going through the window, he went through the wall.

"Great. Have to fix that as well." I complained before going over to the pole vault crossbar and using it to get to my room. Climbing up the pole and entering my room I heard the computer alert us to the message the police sent us.

"You both have e-mail from the police. I'll read it." The computer said. "A Mad Man in your house. How Horrible."

"At least they answered." I said while catching my breath from climbing the pole vault again after a lot of running today. 'I need to go to the gym or begin exercising again.'

"Where are you?" The computer said continuing the message.

'Bagge farm in the middle of nowhere!' Courage typed out in response.

"You poor thing. What do you want from us?" The computer said finishing the message. Hearing this, Courage gained a deadpan annoyed look on his while I just banged my head on the wall. I was about to say something and give me own personal response but before I could do so, we heard Muriel scream again.

'HELP!' Courage typed out before we rushed out the room and back down stairs. But instead of going the same route as before, we went down the stairs that took us to the dining room. Getting to the doorway, we looked inside the living room and saw Muriel once again tied up in her chair. The duck this time had a giant clothes pin on his "mouth." As if to cover his nose in a way. I wondered why he did that but was given my answer when he grabbed a big plate that was covered by a plat cover and opened it to reveal a very stinky piece of cheese. The smell of it almost made me throw up.

'Smells worse than lockers at beacon.' I thought as I tried to not vomit all over the place.

'Leave her alone!' Courage yelled out. The duck turned and began to run to us clearly mad at being interrupted again. But just as he reached us, Courage slammed the door in his face. I was curious to why he did that and not just run but before I could ask, a giant mouse appeared from behind us. Not even questioning it, I turned back to the door to see that the duck opened it and was surprised to see the mouse as well.

"Quest Ce Que" Le Quack said in confusion. Instead of answering, the mouse put on a bib before punching the duck. Sending him flying away and grabbing the cheese, eating it and letting out a satisfied burp. Courage then came to the front and smiled before turning to face the mouse.

"Thanks Mr. Mouse." Courage said thanking him and giving him some money.

"No problem." The mouse said before turning to face me. "Kid. Jaune right?"

"Yes. That's my name." I answered a bit nervously.

"Courage here tells me you're a good cook. Is that so?" He asked.

"I would say so. I have been told my food is pretty good." I answered.

"Why don't you come by my diner later today and we can test your skills. I may have a job offering for you." He said while handing me his card.

"Alright. I'll be there later today." I told him as I looked over his card.

"See you then." He said before making his leave. Once he left, I looked over to Courage who had a smile on his face.

"Thanks Courage. I owe you one." I told him with a smile. A scream drew our attention though, making us remember we still had to save Muriel. Going back into the living room, we saw Le Quack bringing a tied-up Muriel over to the couch. Courage howled as he saw this.

"My darling, I must leave you for a moment. But only for a moment." He said to Muriel before hitting her on the head with the mallet and then kissing her forehead. He then turned around and began to chase us with his mallet. We bolted for the kitchen and were about to exit through the door but couldn't as apparently the duck barricade the door shut so we couldn't leave.

"I have you now, you dirty little dog and human." Le quack said as he aimed a vacuum at us. Not sure what to expect, and given how weird and not normal today has been, I braced myself against the door and held tightly onto the door handle.

And I was right to do so as Le Quack turned on the vacuum and a powerful suction came from it. So powerful that I was lifted off my feet and had it not been for me grabbing onto Courage, he would have been sucked into the vacuum. Holding on tightly, I tried to come up with a way out of this. Looking back down at Courage, I saw an accordion, an anchor and a soccer ball come from Courage's pockets. Which I didn't even know he had in his fur. Soon even the wood the duck used to block the door came loose and was sucked up by the vacuum. Looking back at Le Quack, I saw him laughing manically but failed to realize that a buildup/blockage was happening in the hose of the vacuum. Seeing this, I pulled Courage close to me so that I could take the explosion and he can be safe.

BOOM!

'That hurt worse than being punched by an angry Yang.' I thought as I laid down on the floor. 'But at least Courage is unharmed.' Hearing sirens sounds coming closer to the house, I tried to get up but couldn't stay on my feet for long. Luckily Courage helped me stay up and not fall. Smiling at him, I thanked him for the helped and asked if he was alright. He nodded and helped me over to a nearby chair.

"Thanks, Courage." I said as let out a sigh of relief as my aura started to heal me. Hearing some banging on the door, I was about to get up and answer it but Courage stopped me and motioned that he would do it. Nodding, I fixed myself on the chair as Courage went to open the door. Only to get flattened by the police that entered as soon as he opened the door.

"Oh, we 've been looking for you!" The police officer with a mustache said before nodding to the officer to his side. The officer nodded and placed huge cuffs on Le Quacks fins. Though it did not escape my mind the fact that he could just slide them off without trouble. But I was too tired to care at the moment.

'What took you so long?' Courage asked as he watched them take Le Quack to their vehicle and left. Once we could no longer hear the sirens, I got up from the chair. My aura already making me feel a lot better.

"Come Courage. Let's go check on Muriel" I told him. He nodded and we went to the living room to see Muriel groaning as she came back to her senses. Going up to her, I quickly untied her and placed her boot back on her foot.

"Muriel, are you okay?" I asked her. She sat up and looked around before turning to us and smiling.

"A cup of tea would be lovely Jaune." She said before getting up. She then pulled both Courage and me into a hug. I wonder where Eustace is?" She asked after letting go. Hearing a groaning sound come from the closet, me and Courage went over to it and opened it. Inside we Eustace finally waking up. He looked around in confusion.

"Where am I?"" He asked as he looked over to us. "Who are you? Who am I?" Instead of answering, Courage pulled me away from the closed and closed the door. All the while smiling.

"Courage?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow. He simply let out a chuckle with a toothy grin in his own unique way. Sighing, I decided to let it go. After all, the guy did try to make Muriel into his servant. So, what's the harm in letting him be the one with amnesia for a little bit. And it will cause less trouble when I got to the interview later with the giant mouse.

"Just remind me to fix him later in the day." I told him. He nodded before going to help Muriel make some tea.

'Today has definitely been weird. And I can only feel like it's going to get weirder from here on out. But I cannot help but feel excited for it. After all, it's not every day you get to have an out of this world adventure' I thought as I headed back to my room to rest and then prepare for the interview with the mouse.

Note:

These two chapters were test chapters to see how to proceed further with this story.

Should I have a full episode in one chapter or in parts like part one and part two?

Which do you all prefer? Going in order of the episodes or should I randomize them. If the latter is preferred, I would have you all chose which episode I should do next.

Should other characters from the Rwby series make and appearance?

Same goes for the grimm. Should they appear and if so, how?

Should I make a pairing with Jaune and if so, with who?
