Chapter 3
The Ark
Abby was in the control room as a woman walks up. "Hey darling, hows clark"? A woman Named Callie Ask Abby.
"Her vital signs are strong, blood sugars low, she hasn't eaten". Abby says as points at Clarke's vitals as a phone rings. She answers.
"This is Dr. griffin". She says as she answers the phone."On my way". she says as she hangs up.
"Jackson, put it out there we need blood, A neg. Lots of it and then get your ass to the o.r.". she says.
"Abby, what's wrong"? Callie asks.
"The chancellor has been shot". Abby says as she walks out the control room.
The ground
Clarke, Finn, Octavia, Jasper, and Monty walk through the Woods as Finn picks up a flower and puts it through Octavia's hair.
"Now that my friend, is game". Jasper tells Monty.
"That, my friend is Poison sumac". Monty tells him.
"What? It is"? Octavia asks shocked as she snatch it out of her hair.
"The flowers aren't poisonous. They're Medicinal, Calming, actually". Monty explains.
"His family grows all the pharmaceuticals on the Ark". Jasper tells them.
"Hey guys would you try to keep up"? Clarke asks.
"Come on, Clarke how do you block all this out"? Finn asks.
"Well it's simple, i wonder 'why haven't we seen any animals'? Maybe because there is none. Maybe, we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us. Sure is pretty though. Come on". Clarke says as she walks away. "Someone should slip her some Poison sumac". Octavia whispers.
Finn snorts as he walks away.
"I got to know what you two did to get busted". Finn tells Jasper and Monty.
"Sumac's not the only Herb in the garden, if you know what i mean". Monty says.
"Someone forget to replace what we took". Jasper says bitterly. "Someone has apologized like, a thousand times". Monty says back.
"How about you Octavia? What did they get you for"? Jasper asks.
"Being born". Octavia says as she walks away. "That is so not game". Monty says as he and Jasper slap each other a few times as they walks up to Octavia, Clarke, and Finn.
Clarke and Finn hush them and have them bend down. They see a deer.
"No animals, huh?" Finn asks Clarke. Finn starts to move towards the deer but steps on a twig, which breaks. The deer turns towards them. They jump back when they see that the deer has an extra head. The deer runs away.
"Come on," Clarke says as the group keeps moving.
The Ark
"The chancellor has lost a lot of blood". Abby says as they are doing surgery on him.
"If only they found him sooner damn it". Abby says.
"He's waking up"! Jackson says.
"Increase anesthesia". Abby orders.
"we used way too much blood and anesthesia we are way over the line". Jackson says
Abby looks at him "Your Chancellor is going into shock".Abby says "You're asking me to break the law"! Jackson says back. "Fine, I'll do it myself, let them come after me she says.
Meanwhile, Kane was walking in the halls. "Excuse me sir". Commander Shumway says as he walks up to Kane. "You asked to be notified if there was news". He continues, Kane nods.
"The chancellor is still in surgery but we have id the shooter". Shumway says as he shows him a ID of Bellamy. "Bellamy Blake is the only person on the Ark unaccounted for". He says. "Who is he? Kane ask. "He's no one, a janitor". Shumway explains. "We're still working up a profile but his motive going for to Earth is clear". He says. "Sister I remember". Kane says as he sees a ID of Octavia Blake. "Her mother kept her hidden for almost 16 years, nearly a record". Kane says as he looks at Shumway."What is it Commander Shumway? Spit it out". He tells him.
"We could start now, as Chancellor pro tempore you can give the orders to start reducing the population". Shumway says.
"Not yet". Kane says.
"Sir we're wasting time, removing the hundred from the population buys us another month. Engineering needs more than that to fix those systems, if they can fix them all. Shumway says.
"You have my answer commander, enough. If we're gonna kill hundreds of innocent people we're gonna do it by the book is that clear". Kane asks. Shumway nods. "Now in the meantime, I wanna know who helped this 'janitor' get on this dropship because he sure as hell didn't do this by himself. Seems we have a traitor in our midst commander, and the hundred have an assassin in theirs". Kane says as he begins to walk away.
The ground
Wells drops a pile of sticks beside the dropship on the ground as a couple of teens come over. "Find any water yet"? A teen asks. "No not yet but". He says as he gets up and sees Murphy and Mbege.
"I'm going back out if you want to come". He says as he turns sees a writing carved on the Dropship. "First son to dye". The writing says.
Murphy chuckles. "You know my father begged for mercy in the airlock when your father floated him". He says furiously.
"You spelled die wrong, geniuses". Wells says as he bumps on Murphy shoulder as he walks away. Bellamy comes towards them.
"You know, if you're gonna kill someone, it's probably best if you don't announce it". He says. Murphy snickers.
"You're not really a member of the guard, are you"? He asks.
"No, the real guard will be down here soon unless we stop it. You don't actually think they're gonna forgive your crimes, do you? Even if they do then what? Guys like us, we're gonna become model citizens now, get jobs, if we're lucky, maybe pick up their trash"? Bellamy asks.
"You got a point"? Murphy asks.
"No, I got a question. They locked you up, dumped you down here like lab rats to die, so why are you helping"? Bellamy asks.
"The hell we are". Mbege says.
"You're wearing those Wristbands, aren't you? Right now those things are telling them whether or not it's safe to follow us down". Bellamy states.
"Ok, you said we could stop it, how"? Murphy asks.
"Take them off. the Ark will think you're dead, that it's not safe to follow. Do you follow"? Bellamy asks.
Murphy nods. "Right and if we do, what's in it for us"? He asks.
"Someone's got to help me run things". Bellamy says as he walks away.
The Ark
Abby walks back into the control room where Callie and Kane were. "Hi, Ab. How's the Chancellor doing?" Callie asks.
"Ask me again if he makes it through the night. Who else did we lose?" Abby asks.
"Murphy and Mbege, both named John." One of the men says.
"Neither was injured during the landing," Kasays.
"I concur. Something else killed these two. One second they were fine, and the next bang," The man says.
"Then it isn't radiation," Abby says.
"Come on, Abby. Wishful thinking isn't good science." Kane asks.
"It's not wishful science. One second fine, the next bang isn't how exposure to radiation presents," Abby says.
"Well, it could be if there was enough of it," Kane says.
"If there was enough of it, they would all be dead," Abby says. "Please let me be right," Abby says.
Meanwhile with Clarke's Group.
"Hey, you what I like to know? Why send us down here today after three-hundred years? What changed"? Finn asks.
"Who cares? I'm just glad they did. I woke up rotting in a cell, and now I'm spinning around in a forest". Octavia says as she's spinning around a tree.
"Maybe they found something on a satellite, you know like an old weather satellite or-" Monty says as he is interrupted by Clarke.
"It wasn't a satellite, the Ark is dying". Clarke says as they stop and look at her, shocked.
"At the current population level, there's roughly three months left of life support, maybe four now that we're down here". She says as they begin to walk again.
"So that was the secret they locked you to keep, why they kept you in a solitary, floated your dad"? Finn asks.
"My father was the engineer who discovered the flaw. He thought he had a right to know. The council disagreed, My mother disagreed. They were afraid it would cause a panic. We were gonna go public any when Wells-". She stops
"What is it"? Finn asks.
"Nothing, anyway, the guard showed up before we could. That's why today. That's why it was worth the risk. Even if we all die, at least they bought themselves more time". Clarke continues.
"They're gonna kill more people are they"? Monty asks. Clarke stays quiet.
"Good, after what they did to me, I say float them all". Octavia says.
"You don't mean that". Jasper says.
"We have to warn them". Finn tells Clarke.
"That's what my father said". Clarke tells him as she walks away and bumps into Jasper.
"Oh, damn I love earth." Jasper says as they see Octavia takes off her clothes.
"Octavia what the hell are you doing?!" Clarke shouts as Octavia jumps into a land of water. They run over as they see her in the water.
"Octavia you Can't swim." Finn says.
"No, but we can stand". Octavia says as she stands in the water.
"Wait, there's not supposed to be a river here". Clarke tells them.
"Well there is so take off your damn clothes". Finn says as Jasper begins to take of his clothes as he sees something in the water.
"Octavia get out of the water"! Jasper exclaimed as she turns and sees a creature comes towards her way.
"Get out of the water now!!" Jasper continues to shout as the creature grabs her leg.
"OCTAVIA!!!" Jasper exclaimed as she gets dragged under water. A few seconds later she jumps back up.
"HELP!!" She screams out in terror.
"What the hell is that?!" Monty asks.
"We have to help her!" Jasper shouts.
"What are we gonna do?!" Jasper asks.
"Try not to get eaten! Finn says as he was going to jump in the water.
"No, wait! If we distract it, it might let her go, help me!!" Clarke exclaimed as they push a giant rock in the water. It hits the creature.
"It worked!" Jasper says as he jumps in.
"I got you!" he tells Octavia as the creature comes back.
IT'S COMING BACK!!" Finn exclaimed as Jasper drags her back to land.
Clarke, Monty, and Finn runs over and sees a scratch on Octavia's leg. Clarke rips a piece of jasper's shirt and wraps it around Octavia's leg.
"Thank you, thank you!" Octavia says as she hugs Jasper.
"You're gonna be okay." Clarke tells her.
"Note to self, Next time, save the girl". Monty tells Jasper as he, Jasper, and Octavia laughs.
Back at the camp
Wells walks out the dropship as he hears people cheer. He walks over as he sees Murphy Taking off a girls wristband as he throws it in the camp fire.
"WHO'S NEXT?!" Bellamy shouts
"What the hell are you doing"? Wells asks
"We're liberating ourselves, what does it look like"? Bellamy asks.
"It looks like you're trying to get us all killed. The communication system is dead. These wristbands are all we got, Take them off, and the Ark will think we're dying, that it's not safe for them to follow". Wells explains.
"That's the point, Chancellor. We can take care ourselves, can we?!" Bellamy asks the prisoners as they agree.
"You think this is a game? Those aren't just our friends and our parents out there. They're our farmers, our doctors, our engineers. I don't care what he tells you, we won't survive here on our own". Wells tells the prisoners as he turns to Bellamy.
"And besides, if it really is safe, how could you not want the rest our people to come down"? He asks Bellamy
"My people are already down, those people, locked my people up, those people killed my mother for the crime of having a second child. Your father did that". Bellamy says
"My father didn't write the laws". Wells says
No, he enforced them, but not anymore, not here, here, there are no laws, here, we do what ever the hell we want, whenever the hell we want. Now you don't have to like it, Wells. You can even try to stop it or change it, kill me. You know why? Whatever the hell we want.
"WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT!!!" exclaimed Murphy as the prisoners chanted.
Wells glares at Bellamy as rain starts the drop. The Prisoners cheered.
"We need to collect this". Wells tells Bellamy
"Whatever the you want". Bellamy says.
Wells walks away as the prisoners continues to cheer.
The Ark
Abby looks at the prisoners vitals.
"Ten more, one more after the next". She says
"Abby, look at the Plasma osmolarity it's going up across the board". Jackson says.
"They've found water". Abby says smiling.
"Councillor Abigail Griffin, you're under arrest for exceeding the maximum medical supplies allowed for a patient". Schumway says as he, Kane and some others Come in.
Kane glares at Abby.
"Sorry this has to public, the policy in these matters is very clear, no special treatment". Kane tells her.
How much blood did you use Abby"? Kane ask her.
"Don't answer that". Jackson says as Abby tells him anyway
" I used whatever it took. Breaking the law to keep from becoming Chancellor was the easiest decision i've ever made". She says.
"In that case, given you're confession, in my role as 'Chancellor pro tempore', you leave me no choice but to find you guilty". Kane says.
"We always have a choice, Kane. You chose to press charges against my husband, you're friend, even though you knew he would get floated for it, you chose to include my daughter in those charges and now you're choosing this hiding behind the law absolves you of nothing". Abby says.
"Be that as it may, in accordance with penal code one, because all crimes committed by those above the of maturity are capital crimes, you are hereby sentenced to death. Execution is set for the morning, and I choose at every turn and at any cost to make sure that the human race stays alive". Kane states as they put her in a cell that used to be Clarke's.
She bends down and sees a drawing of trees on The cold, mettle floor. A tear start rolling down her face.
The Camp
The Delinquents were sleeping when Bellamy walks up to Wells, who was also sleeping. He puts his hand over his mouth, Wells wakes up and looks at him.
"Shh, come with me". he says as he grabs Wells and they walked far from the hundred.
"That's far enough". Bellamy says as Wells stop and turns looks at him.
"I don't wanna shoot you Wells, hell, I like you but I need them to think you're dead". Bellamy says
"Why are you doing this, for real, not some crap about getting to do what you want to do"? Wells ask.
"I have my reasons, but I also have a gun, so I asks the questions, and the question is, why aren't you helping me? Your dad banished you and yet here you are still doing his bidding. Aren't you tired of always doing what's expected you to do? Take off that wristband and you will be amazed at how good it feels. Bellamy says.
"No, never. Not gonna happen is that clear enough for you"? Wells ask. Bellamy nods
"Yeah, yeah it is. I'm sorry it had to be this way". Bellamy says as he puts his gun away and nods to some one behind Wells as he knocks him out. Taking off his wristband.
The Ark
"Dr Griffin. its time". a guard says as they walk her to the airlock. She sees Callie, Jackson, and Kane and guards there waiting for her. Callie hugs Abby, sobbing.
"That's enough". Kane says as guards pull her away as They she walks in the airlock.
They close it. Getting ready to float her as someone stops him.
"Stop, Dr griffin is pardoned". The Chancellor says with a bandage on as he walks up to Kane.
"I'll deal with you later". He tells Kane as he ask the guard to open the door. He opens it.
Abby walks out. She looks at the Chancellor jaha.
"I spent twelve hours putting those intestines back together. She tells him.
"Get him back to bed, Now". She demands as she walks away. Callie follows her.
"Tell me about the hundred. Did they make it"? Jaha asks Kane.
with clarke's group
Finn was holding a vine, getting ready to swing across the river. "You wanted to go first now quit stalling," Clarke says to Finn.
"Mount Weather awaits," Octavia says.
"Just hang on till the apogee, and you'll be fine," Jasper says.
"The apogee like the Indians, right?" Finn asks.
"Apogee, not apache," Monty tells Finn.
"He knows Finn today," Clarke says.
"Aye aye, Captain see you on the other side," Finn says
"Wait," Jasper says as Finn is about to go across.
"What?" Finn asks
"Let me, I can do it," Jasper says. Finn hands him the rope.
"Knew there was a badass in there somewhere". Finn says.
Jasper shakes a bit.
"Hey it's okay to be afraid. The trick is not fighting it". Finn says
Jasper nods. "See ya on the other side". Jasper says as he swings.
"WHOO HOO YEAH"!!! Jasper exclaimed as he jumps other the other side.
"WE ARE APOGEE"!! Jasper shouts. the others cheer.
You did it, Jasper!" Octavia says yells. The others cheer.
"Let's go, princess, your next," Finn says to Clarke as he grabs the vine.
"Come on, Clarke, you got this." Jasper says as he picks up a sign that says Mount Weather.
"Look, Mount weather whooo!!!" Jasper cheers as a spear flies into Jaspers chest.
The others jump back.
"Jasper, JASPER!!" Monty screams as Finn pulls him back.
"Come on Monty, get down". Finn says. They get down and hide.
"We're not alone". Clarke says.
