*Back At True Cross*

One moment, Rin was saving Shiemi, tossing her back into the protection circle, the next a white light surrounded them. That's when everyone looked up, seeing an eye open up around Rin. It all happened so fast that no one had the chance to do anything. Suddenly Rin was disappearing before their eyes and whatever that eye was, managed to scare off the remaining hobgoblins they were fighting.

"Rin!" Shouted Yukio.

The eye closed, just as Rin vanished. The area became quiet, everyone processing exactly what was going on. Did a demon just kidnap Rin? They couldn't seem to think of what else it could be. The gates to Gahenna don't look like that, so what was it? A new species of demons? All they knew was that RIn had disappeared.

"What in the fuck just happened?" Suguro asked, still staring at the spot.

"Rin… saved me." Shiemi whispered. Suguro growled. First he goes off and acts like a damn hero then he ups and vanishes? Just what is up with this punk?

Crooked laughter could be heard around them, a laugh they knew too well. Mephisto walked into the area, stopping next to Yukio with a knowing smirk. Yukio straightened up, folding his arms. "I assume you know what that thing was?" He asked.

Mephisto twirled his cane in his hand, placing it down on the floor. "Lets say I do. What then?" He asked.

"Then tell me. I'm not in the mood for this. Is Rin gone?" Yukio barked.

Mephisto chuckled. "He's gone. That was the gate of vast unknown knowledge. We don't know what it is and we have only ever seen it once before. The person who went into it thousands of years ago, came back with the knowledge of Alchemy and a new world. The only thing he could really recall about the gate is that it is indeed a link to another world. That is most likely where Rin went."

"He went…. To another world?" Shima asked. "Is… is anyone else's head hurting?"

"How do we get him back?" Yukio asked.

Mephisto laughed. "Oh dear boy, you can't. The gate isn't something you can summon. It's up to Rin. He has to choose if he wants to come back or not. That's what the other man who came back said. All we can do is wait."

Everyone hated that notion. Despite how they treated him, secretly everyone present hopes that Rin finds his way home. Hopefully.

Rin shivered at the thought of talking to that General lady. Right now all he wanted to do was get information about this threat Truth was talking about. He also wanted to know about this world. Truth gave him the knowledge of this world, but he still had trouble processing all the information he was given. Rin followed the woman as she took a seat in the room. Rin's eyes looked around the room again, anywhere but the lady.

"So then, what I've heard is that you two are close to my brother Alex," She put down the picture, turning to face them. "Is he doing alright?" She asked.

Rin tuned them out, looking over at the man standing next to the girl. He studied him, wondering why he looked somewhat different than everyone he has met.

"Tell me why you would bypass the command center just to meet me. I want to know it all, including why your body is hollow and who this damn brat is." She demanded.

Rin shot a protest that was easily ignored. Instead he watched Ed look around cautiously, peaking Rin's attention. "Actually… that's not something we like to talk about." He said.

Rin lifted a brow. "Why not?"

"Yeah, there's no reason to worry, everyone up north has plenty they want to hide." Says the doctor.

"But if this information reaches certain ears I could get court martialed." Ed says.

Rin knew what that meant, wondering if this secret was so bad. Rin had a secret he didn't like to talk about. It didn't just lead to being in trouble with the law. It would lead to execution on his part. Rin watched Al bend down close to Ed. With his good hearing he listened in.

"Brother I really think we need to tell her." Al whispered.

Ed grunted. "But… Winry's a hostage."

Rin glared at that. A hostage? Who?

Ed continued. "Maybe if we do it without mentioning the Fuhrer or the Homunculi-"

Homunculi? WHat was that? Was this the threat Truth wanted him to uncover? If so, why were they keeping it so secret?

"Fine, let's just tell her we are trying to get our bodies back." Al said.

Ed nodded. He started to explain everything they were doing, Rin listening to every word, suddenly getting a nervous and sad pit in his stomach. Hearing what Ed and Al had to go through in a short amount of time, made him feel like maybe his life wasn't so bad. He may have been an outcast but these boys lived through so much pain it made his complaining seem stupid. Rin gritted his teeth, his tail moving to wrap around his leg tighter.

Armstrong didn't miss the movement, narrowing her eyes at Rin. Once they were done with explaining, Armstrong seemed to understand their predicament as well as Rin. She turned to Rin.

"And what about you?" She asked.

Ed and Al turned to Rin who was now paling at the spotlight. "Me?" He asked.

"Yes, fill me in on your story and don't you dare lie to me. You don't look like anyone around here. Your ears are different as well as your hair and eyes. Now explain what it is you are doing here and with the Elric brothers." She barked, folding her arms over her chest,

Rin gulped. Where should he even start? His story is nothing like theres. He can't tell them he's from a different world and that he's the Son of Satan. Truth told him to trust this world but after his other experience he doesn't know if he can.

"Well?!"

Rin sighed. He can't lie. These are trained military people. They would see through his lies in an instant. Didn't help that he can't hide behind a lie to save his life. "Can I have your word you won't let this get out and that it won't lead to any form of harsh punishment?" He asked.

Ed and Al looked at eachother, now intrigued at their new companion. Armstrong scoffed. "What type of harsh punishment?"

"Where I come from, It is execution worthy, Sir." Rin says blatantly.

Armstrong smirked, leaning forward in her chair. "I see. If you tell the truth I don't see a reason to punish you."

Rin mentally prepared himself. "I am from a different world entirely. I was transported here to help in the rising threat against the military. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to. I am from a place called Japan." He explained, rubbing his hands together, taking in the dumbfounded looks from all of them. "I also have a younger twin brother who I left behind." He paused, biting his lip. "Our father is… well… he is… Uhm… Satan himself."

"Satan? As in the devil?!" Ed asked.

Rin nodded. "My world has a threat called demons. Real demons that torment people. Satan is the king of them and he causes havoc everywhere he goes. He hasn't been able to find a vessel to stay tethered to Assiah so he stays in Gehenna trying to get his hands on me." Rin paused, taking a deep breath. "My step father, Father Shiro Fujimoto took us in and protected us… but Satan took over his body and he tried to drag me back to Gehenna to be his prince. I denied him and… well.. In order to save me, Fujimoto stabbed himself, killing his own vessel… I closed the gate using my flames of satan… after that I was sentenced to be executed because I was born the Son of Satan. I never once think of him as my father. I hope to work my way up to beating his ass." Rin snapped.

Everyone was quiet, trying to take in all of what Rin had said. Armstrong couldn't believe what she was hearing. It sounded so absurd to her that it almost sounded believable. Rin didn't show any indication he was lying. Was this true?

"If you were sentenced to death, how are you here?" Asked Al.

Rin smiled. "I was offered another position. Join the cram school and learn to be an exorcist to expel demons, I just had to hide my existence from them. It worked but… Then my friends found out… well… they aren't my friends anymore. They despise me after finding out I'm the Son of the father that destroyed their temples. I was in the middle of an Esquire mission when I was transported here." He explained.

"If this is all true, do you have any form of proof?" Asked Armstrong.

Rin nodded. He allowed his tail out, turning around. "I have my demonic tail and this," he unwrapped his sword, going to unsheath it, before realizing he was close to them. Suguro's words hitting him again. He backed away a bit, unsheathing the sword. Once he did, everyone gasped. Armstrong smirked, standing up she walked closer.

"My, My that is quite a secret. It's quite an amazing gift you have there." She said.

Rin sighed, sheathing his sword. "I wish others would see it as that." He muttered.

"Well since I know both of your stories, I will help. I am interested in what you do," she pointed to Rin, before continuing. "And I am interested in Alkahestry. So I will help." She started to walk away. "Major Miles, put them to work."

"What?!" Both Ed and Al said.

"A man who doesnt work, has no right to eat." She barked.

"You have a point." They say in perfect Unison again.

They watched as the general left the room with Captain Buccaneer by her side while Ed, Al, Rin and Major Miles went down another hall. Rin kept his eyes opened, looking around. He expects to see some form of Demons but they don't come out.

"So uh… what kind of work will you have us do?" Ed asked.

"I would also like to know." Chimed in Rin.

Major Miles remained quiet.

Ed continued to strike up a conversation. "That doctor said everyone up here has something they want to hide. So uh… what are you hiding?" Ed asked.

"Ed! You shouldn't go around asking people!" Rin squeaks.

"Oh shut up! I want to know!"

Major Miles stopped, making Rin jump. "You really want to know?" He asked.

Major Miles reached up and pulled off his glasses, turning around. Rin was in awe at the look. Red eyes complementing the white hair and brown skin. He loved the way it looked. But looking over at Ed and Al, he was confused. "An Ishvalan?" Asked Al.

Rin lifted a brow. "Whats a… whats an Ishvalan?" He asked. "Is that your race?"

Major Miles nodded. "It is. Just like these two here are Amestrians." He explained.

Rin was starting to understand the way this place was working. Ignoring Ed and Miles back and Forth, Rin started thinking back to everything that's happened so far. They didn't seem to discriminate against him for being a demon, let alone the Son of Satan. General Armstrong seemed to be rather happy about it. It certainly was a change from his old world. He told anyone there he was a demon they would have executed him on the spot. These people seemed to sympathize with him. It was such a new feeling he almost couldn't believe it. So far this world was treating him better than his old one.

They started walking again, this time though, Ed and Miles seemed to be talking about the General, but Rin was too busy staring at his hands. Among other things, he couldn't believe he drew his sword. He deliberately left out most of the teasing and all the stuff his ex-friends used to do in order to not get a pity party. Knowing he was treated that way would have changed something. He didn't want it to. All he knew was that he didn't want these people to turn on him like his old ones. He was determined not to let that happen.

After they were dumped off to do the work that Major Miles left them to do, they were quiet, until Ed spoke up. "So Okumura, who is taller you or your brother?" Ed asked, barely able to reach an icicle.

Rin jumped up snagging a few of them. "You can call me Rin. And actually my brother Yukio is taller than me." He explained.

"So you're saying your younger brother is taller?" He asked, an unknown glint sparkling in his eyes.

"Yes that's right. I'm the shorter one." He admitted, nearly landing Ed on the floor with his comment.

Ed growled. "I'M NOT SHORT!" Ed screamed.

Rin ducked away. "I never said you were?!"

Al slapped Ed on the head. "Ignore him, he does that sometimes."

"Fullmetal?" Asked someone.

All their eyes turned to the man who said that. "Officer Falman!" Ed said.

Rin didn't know who this was, but he could tell he was known to the Elric brothers since their conversation was so casual. Rin felt a rotten presence sink into his stomach. He had a bad taste in his mouth, looking down the hallway. What was this feeling? Who was this presence for? He hasn't felt something this nasty since Amaimon during camp. So why was it here? Did he want to know?

As conversation continued, he offered to give them a tour of the place before they finish their task. Rin agreed along with the Elrics, putting the picks down on the floor, they followed Falman to the bottom area, Rin taking in how far behind they are in technology. It was a great looking way they did things, but knowing cell phones exist in his world along with automatic weapons, it was odd to see the weapons they had now. Yes it was much like their weapons but so different at the same time.

The ground shook underneath them, and the foul presence Rin was feeling finally became understood. Finally, he was getting to see what type of evils Truth was talking about. Too bad it would be the biggest mind fuck he was about to get into.
