Chapter 3:

Donna sighed as she walked into the coffee shop. She had gotten back from her trip with the first lady late last night. She had planned on taking Sam's advice to make up with Josh when she got home, but he was asleep when she arrived and had left before she got up the next morning.

It wasn't like them to go days without speaking. This whole mess had made her nights pretty restless, which is why she needed a double-dose of her favorite coffee before heading to the office.

Donna grabbed her large coffee off the counter and turned to go when she bumped into someone.

"If this isn't a sign to give up caffeine I don't know what is," Donna whispered under her breath. "Hi Andrew, what are the odds I would be seeing you again here?"

"Well considering I've been coming here every morning trying to see you again, I'd say the odds are pretty high," Andrew replied.

Donna was stunned. It's not often people surprise her. This, though, left her dumbfounded.

"Oh God… Why? Why have you been doing that?"

"Seeing you again, talking to you again, I realized just how much I missed you."

"I really need to start drinking coffee at home," Donna muttered, taking another sip of her coffee.

"Donna, I know I messed up before. I messed up big time. I didn't see you for who you are, a brilliant, beautiful, and amazing woman. But I do now. I've changed! And I'd kick myself if I didn't

"Andrew look…"

"I'm moving to DC. I'm starting my new job at GW tomorrow. I think we should give this another go… What do you say?"
