Ch. 3 Todoroki Family Part Two

We have arrived at the third chapter of this story and this will center on the first part of the origin story of Touya and the rest of the Todoroki family and see what made him become the villain known as Dabi.

It is important to know the origin of the Dabi to help the rest of the story going forward and see what cracks started to form in the family and see what caused all the problems that arose in the family.

We arrive at the family home of Rei where we see a meeting taking place between her, Enji, and one of her parents. Rei's parent tells Enji that "how fortunate and what an absolute honor and that why we never dreamed that the great Endeavor the man who many people say will be the number one to reach out to us." The Himura family was also once considered prestigious with a long storied history. It is only fitting that a top hero would take a Himura woman as your bride. Endeavor said she was a lot like ice herself.

Endeavor says "she knew full well it was a quirk marriage from the start but she would do it for her family's sake." Endeavor asks her if she likes flowers and Rei says "yes, so pretty, strong but prone to melting away at the slightest touch." Endeavor says "Rei are you really okay" to which Rei says "okay no I'm not, that is why I'm here."

We then head to another location in the forest with a house in the middle and in that house we find Dabi laying on a couch saying "that's a lotta burning, can't feel a thing though." Dabi goes on to say "I know dear old dad ain't gonna die. He's tougher than that. Plus even if he wants to say adios to the world, his position won't allow it. He'll have to make some kinda public statement soon."

Dabi also says "can't wait to see his pathetic mug. I've been waiting so damn long for this." "Enji Todoroki, Mom, Fuyumi, Nasu, and Shoto take a real good look at me in the depths of hell." We go back to the Todoroki household when Touya was just a kid and he tells his dad "you got a day off right, so you gotta do quirk training with me." He asks his dad why'd you change your mind all of a sudden huh? Enji says "like I keep saying, it is for your own good."

We arrive to the doctor's office where we see a doctor meeting with Enji and Rei and it appears this meeting is about Touya. The doctor tells them "an unusual case to be sure, your son has inherited an even more powerful form of the fire based quirk factor but he takes after his mother physically. Meaning he's not built to endure fire but rather to withstand freezing temperatures." The doctor also tells them "I have to say attempting to create custom children is taboo in our quirk-based society, so I can't advise it."

Endeavor thinks about when All Might saved 62 different towns and cities and how the reporter was saying we'll never fall to villainy as long as All Might's around. Endeavor thinks that Touya can surpass All Might.

We then cut to Fuyumi and Touya sitting on the couch watching a news report about All Might and he says "Fuyumi, yeah I got a little burned but so what, I can take it. I know my own body better than anyone." Fuyumi says to him "but Touya, I don't like it when you get hurt either" to which Touya tells her "what do you know anyway, a girl woudn't get it" and she says "I'm worried dat's all." Touya walks off saying "I already got it in my head that I gotta surpass the other guy, dad's the one who lit the fire under me."

We go to see Enji and Rei talking to each other about what they learned from the doctor and where to go from there. Re says "no, that would be too much, it's too cruel." She also says "especially now that Touya knows what you're hoping to achieve through the children." Enji then tells her "no matter what I say, he comes home with fresh burns every day." Enji also says "he inherited that stubbornness from me, that is the only way to make him give up, since he'll never be the one to surpass…"

We now see Rei holding baby Shoto with Fuyumi excited to have a new baby brother while Touya looks on in shock. We also see Endeavor pushing himself more and more while the fame of All Might grows and Rei starts to lose her smile. Shoto is now seen with red and white hair with Enji being happy, Rei smiling, and Touya looking more shocked as well.

We go to see Touya training in the forest with his flames hoping to get stronger and prove to his dad that he can surpass All Might as the number one hero. Touya says "no dad, I can do it too, I can surpass him, see how strong my flames are already." He finishes by smiling crazily and saying look at me.

Enji asks him "why won't you stop, you're covered in burns and you still don't get it why?" Enji tells him "you have to look beyond all this. Play with Nastuo and Fuyumi. Make some friends at school. There's a whole other world besides the hero stuff… I know you understand that." He finishes by saying "take my advice and this'll all be a distant memory soon" and while this is happening Rei and the other kids are watching. Touya tells him "the kids at school all say they wanna be heroes. I can't understand that because I've got you for a father" and he says this with a crazy look on his face.

Rei says "we have to cool him down" and the other kids look on with surprised and scared looks on their faces. Touya tells his dad you lit this fire in me dad, and it's not going out." Touya also says "I can't just pretend it's not there!" Touya's hair turns white and with all his might says in a dark tone "look at me, look at me Endeavor" and shoto watches on.

Touya goes to attack Rei and shoto with his fire at full force. Rei says again in the present to Enji "you don't get to claim you're hurting anymore than anyone. And you're not the only who didn't really see him."

We have finished the first part of the flashback of the Todoroki family and we knew a little bit thanks to the manga but this chapter really tells the first part of the whole story surrounding this family.

The next chapter will be another acton packed because it will continue to look back at the Todoroki family and see what caused the problems there is currently in the manga. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and hope you enjoy the next chapter.
