"You shouldn't have to go!" Mulan says angrily as she is pouring tea while Alexis is placing dinner on the table.
"Mulan!" Fa Li says as she looks at Mulan.
"There are plenty of young men to fight for China!" Mulan say angrily.
"Mulan please." Alexis says as she tries to reason with Mulan.
"It is an honor to protect my country and my family." Fa Zhou says calmly.
"So you'll die for honor?" Mulan asks in disbelieve.
"I will die doing what's right." Fa Zhou says as he looks at Mulan.
"But if you-" Mulan then gets cut off by Fa Zhou.
"I know my place. It is time you learned yours." Fa Zhou says as Mulan gives a sad look before running out of the room.
"Fa Zhou." Fa Li says as Fa Zhou looks at her.
"She needed to hear it. It's time she did." Fa Zhou says coldly.
"But maybe it could of been worded differently. She only wants to protect you and yet you snap at her for it. She's just trying to do what I never could. Protect the ones she loves." Alexis says angrily as she looks at Fa Zhou.
"Alexis." Fa Li says.
"No. I agree with Mulan. It's not fair and you're not in the right condition for it. You'll die." Alexis says.
"Fair or not. It is what's right and I will do what is right to protect my family." Fa Zhou says before Alexis tries to leave only for Granny Fa to stop her.
"Alexis let Mulan have some time to herself. I know you worry for her but she needs some time to herself." Granny Fa says.
*Timeskip*
Later at night as Alexis is going to check on Mulan she sees her in her room about to cut her hair with a sword.
"Mulan what are you doing?" Alexis asks in worry while trying to keep her voice down as Mulan looks at her startled.
"Alexis!? Please don't tell father. Please I have to do this. He won't survive if he goes." Mulan says determinedly.
"And you won't either. You know they will kill you if they find out you're a woman." Alexis says as she goes over to Mulan.
"I don't have a choice. Please Alexis.." Mulan says as Alexis sighs.
"Alright.. On one condition." Alexis says.
"What's that?" Mulan asks as she starts cutting her hair.
"I'm coming with you." Alexis says as Mulan looks at her.
"What? No. I'm doing this alone." Mulan says sternly.
"No you are not. Look Mulan I wasn't able protect my family as a pup and I lost them due to it. But I'm every bit as strong and fearless as my birth mother was. I'm coming with you no matter what. I intend to help you protect our family. One way or another." Alexis says as she sits beside Mulan.
"But what will you wear? You need armor and a weapon." Mulan says.
"That's solvable. I have my birth father's armor and weapon. Just like I have my birth mother's wedding dress. Fa Li said they were with me when she and your father found me. They put them in my closet for me to have something remember my parents by." Alexis says as Mulan reluctantly nods.
"Alright but you will need to cut your hair. Your hair is longer than mine. Cut it a little less shorter than mine." Mulan says as she hands Alexis the sword before she cuts her hair as the two then finish getting ready before leaving on their horses.
