Iris smiled and both of them walk out only to see Barry and Joe still standing there. Nate looked at Barry "How long did you keep this from Iris?"

Barry sighed "One week, Joe knew two days after I woke up. I didn't tell him either."

Nate pinched the bridge of his nose "Well you have one week of wondering want the rest of the truth is before I tell you and that is your punishment for not telling Iris."

Barry sighs "I understand Nate and I'm sorry Iris."

Iris looks at him with a little hurt in her eyes "I'll forgive you but you have to earn my trust back. So do you dad."

Joe and Barry nods while Nate puts a hand on Iris's shoulder "Let's get to the cortex and see if we can find some way to train using our speed."

Barry groaned "I hate training, can't I skip it?"

Nate pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed "No Barr you need to be training as well so you know what you can do with your speed."

Barry sighed "Fine let's go train then."

Nate shook his head "We need to see if Cisco has something that can handle our speed because the first thing we need to do is get use it. After that we can work on an obstacle course for us to run through with our speed to get our reaction time where it needs to be. We should also train without our speed on some things. For example our hand to hand fighting needs to be on a good foundation. We can also work on our hand-eye coordination without our speed, there's also our stamina and finally we can work on or physical strength without our speed."

Iris looks at Nate wide eyed "How the hell do you know that?"

Nate rose an eyebrow at her "I know that because when you can do something in your base form then you can do it with a boost."

Iris nods "I forgot that you told me that when we were kids."

Nate smiled "That's alright I just know that if you can do something in your base form then you can to do faster with a boost and our speed gives us an endless boost. However we do need to find the drawbacks too because if they can't be overcome or reduced then we need to know what could happen if we're not careful or if we have to go over our limit with our speed for whatever reason."

Everyone besides Nate nods and Nate looks at Cisco "Do you have something that we can run on to get use to our speed before we go out into the field and fight bad guys?"

Cisco nods "I just finished in last night and I call it the Cosmic Treadmill. Normal treadmills you take home or find in a gym have a maximum speed of 12 mph, while mine has been modified to handle the speed the two of you can theoretically reach. I say theoretically because we don't know if your bodies can handle that speed."

Nate nods "Do you want me to try it first Cisco?"

Cisco shakes his head "No let Barry try it first because he's speed is one we've had a week to study and I know that it can handle that much."

Nate nods and looks at Barry "Let's see who's the fastest one of us little brother."

Barry smirks "I'll teach you how to reach my level soon big bro."

Barry gets on the cosmic treadmill and starts running, he tops out at 355 mph. he keeps running for a few minutes after he reaches his current top speed before slowing down to fast and gets sent flying backwards into a few stacks of boxes behind the treadmill. Nate looks at Caitlin "Let me guess you all put them there because he was fainting or something?"

Caitlin nods "Yeah he was stopping to fast and would go flying into the wall so we put the boxes to keep him from getting hurt."

Nate sighs "I'm not even surprised right now. Barry really needs to learn how to be more careful."

Barry walks out with a hand holding the back of his head "That stop could have gone better. Anyway that's my top speed so have fun trying to beat that Nate."

Nate looked at Joe "Bit cocky now that he's got some speed ain't he?"

Joe chuckled and Barry playful scoffed "It's not being cocky if you know you can back it up."

Nate smirked "We'll see about that little brother."

Nate walks into the room with treadmill and steps onto it "Caitlin can you or Cisco put on my favorite song?"

Caitlin smiles and puts on Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas. Nate starts running as the song plays and by the end of the song Nate's top speed is 825 mph. Nate comes out of the room and looks at Barry "Well looks like you have some catching up to do little bro."

Barry looked at Nate with wide eyes "How the hell are you that fast when you just woke up today?"

Nate looked at Barry with a smile "I just like to train more than you do so I was already faster than you before we had our speed, it really shouldn't be a surprise to you that I'm still faster."

Barry sighed "That's not fair I thought that I'd finally have something to teach you for a change."

Nate chuckled "Life ain't fair Barr and you do teach me something every day."

Barry looks at Nate "Yeah, what do I teach you every day?"

Nate put a hand on Barry's shoulder "You teach me how to see the good in people and how to also how to be a better person."

Barry looks at Nate with shook in his eyes "I teach you that?"

Nate nods "Oh yeah, after all if it wasn't for you I don't think I'd be the man I am today."

Barry smiles and Cisco's phone goes off "Nate, Barry it's a fire and according to this report there are still two kids inside the building."

Nate didn't even wait before he took off as fast as he could and grabbed on kid. When Barry got there he saw Nate putting out the fire. Barry saw that it was working and saw that part of the roof was about to break off. Nate saw the same thing and vibrated his vocal cords "Flash there's still one more child in the building, go get them and I'll take care of the roof."

Barry nods and runs into the building five seconds later he comes back out with a little girl and sees that Nate had made sure that the part of the roof that broke off the building didn't harm any of the civilians. They both looked at each other and nodded before running back to STAR LABS.

When they got back Nate slide to a stop in the cortex and smelt something burning before feeling something hot against his chest. He looked down and saw that his shirt was on fire so he quickly ripped it off of himself and threw it on the floor before stomping out the flames. When he was done his shirt was ruined and he sighed "Damn I loved that shirt too. I really need a suit made for me soon."

Nate heard chuckling so he turned toward the sound only to see Iris and Caitlin ogling him while Cisco chuckled. Nate smirked and looked at the ladies "Like what you see girls?"

The girls nod because they don't trust their voices. Nate is standing there with a light coat of sweat that made his skin shine in the light, they focused on how the sweat and the light outlined his muscles and abs. Nate caught the shirt that Joe threw to him. Nate looked at Cisco as he put the shirt on "Man I need a suit because I can't have this happening when we get this place up and running as Horizon Industries. We'll have too many other workers for them to see their boss without a shirt."

Cisco smiled "I'm almost done one for you. I saw the design for both your suit and Barry's in your old sketch book, sorry about invading your privacy and all dude."

Nate shrugged "No big deal man."

Barry walks into the cortex with his suit on and Nate finally got a good look at it. Barry's suit was a dark red with a partial cowl to cover his face and no eye protection. The cowl ended just below Barry's eyes so it showed most of his face. On the chest there was an emblem with a yellow lightning bolt and the background was the same color red as the suit. There were also yellow lightning bolts on the cowl, one on each side right were Barry's ears would be. Those are his COMs so that he can talk to Nate and everyone here while in the field.

Barry looked at Nate "Why did you call me Flash out there today?"

Nate's eye widened "Damn I didn't mean to slip that yet."

Barry's eyes widened "That has something to do with the part of the truth that you said I had to wait a week to hear doesn't it?"

Nate nods and Iris walks up and puts a hand on Nate's shoulder "They all deserve to know the truth Nate."

Nate sighs "Everyone should get comfortable because this is a long story."

Everyone took a seat and Nate does the same thing while getting ready to tell the story of the night his and Barry's mom was murdered. Nate saw that everyone was ready so he sighed and cracked his neck "The night our mom died there was what appeared to be a lightning storm in our living room around her. There were three colors of lightning in that storm; those colors were white, red, and yellow. I was down stairs before Barry so I heard him at the top of the stairs. I sent him outside through my bedroom window because I had the only window upstairs that was low enough to get to the ground without getting hurt. I told him that after he got out that he needed to run to Joe's without stopping or looking back. After Barry left I tried to get to mom only to run into someone. I fell on my ass and looked up only to see a man in a yellow suit. This man had glowing red eyes and he was surrounded by the red lighting. Our dad had come down and helped me up, the two of us spent a few minutes trying to see a way to get mom out while yelling out for her. When we couldn't find a way to get her out dad grabbed me by my shoulders and told me to run. Only before he could finish the white and yellow lightning grabbed me and ran me several streets away. I managed to punch the white lightning in the face and kick the yellow lightning in the same place. The three of us rolled a few times before we stopped and that's when I saw that it was another two men, one in a white suit with a full cowl, the other in a red suit that looks almost exactly like Barry's, the man in the red suit seemed really familiar and I felt slightly bad for kicking him in the face. I pushed that feeling down when I looked to the man in white. I ran over to him and ripped the cowl off his face before I froze because of his face. The man in red groaned so I took a chance and looked at him before saying 'Barry is that you little brother or have I really lost my mind?' That's when he said something that made me listen to everything they had to say and what he said was this 'Well damn we didn't think that you'd rip the cowl off of your older self.' It was at that point that I knew something had went wrong so after that I found out about Flash and Reverse Flash going through time and fighting each other while Godspeed was making sure that they didn't screw up the timeline. I then yelled at them for being stupid and then I called myself crazy for yelling at my older self. After that I asked them three more questions before the left. Those questions were, 'One what do we call you? Two is mom supposed to die tonight? Three what happens to dad?' It was my older self that answered me and this was his answer 'We're speedsters, yes she's supposed to die tonight so that you and Barry became us sooner, and dad goes to jail for moms murder.' That's everything."

Everyone looked at Nate with wide eyes. The girls also had tears in their but it was Joe that spoke first "You knew that all this time and you never told anyone so what I want to know is why keep this a secret?"

Nate sighed "I told Iris and Barry part of the story the day after it happened while you were at work."

Joe looked at Nate "Why did you keep this a secret?"

Nate scoffed "What was I supposed to say Joe? I mean saying to a cop, judge, jury, or shrink 'Uh by the way our dad didn't kill our mom an evil speedster from the future did; I know this because an older version of my little brother and me showed up and told me all about it.' Yeah I can see that going over well while I'm in the loony bin."

Joe sighed "Yeah I can see that going wrong but don't you think you'd be safer in there then out here with us?"

Nate looked at Joe "Really Joe? This Reverse Flash is still out there and you wanted me to be somewhere safe while Barry was out here? No I have to keep him safe until he can handle these powers on his own. I promised our dad that and you know how I am about promises I've made Joe."

Everyone nods and Nate get's up "I'm going to get some work in my lab done; I also want to see Grodd."

Nate saw the nervous look on Caitlin's face "Cait what's wrong?"

Caitlin sighed "Nate Grodd isn't in his cage, the dark matter from the accelerator explosion mixed with the chemicals in his system and he got out. Now he's out there somewhere."

Nate looked at her with wide eyes before he looked at Cisco "Where's my suit dude, I'm going to look for Grodd."

Cisco pointed to a covered manikin and Nate walked up to it before he ripped off the sheet covering it. Nate saw the suit that he hadn't seen for fourteen years. He smiled and turned to look at Cisco "This looks just like the suit the older me was wearing that night. Did you get all of my gear in it?"

Cisco smiled "Yeah and you have the blue eye protection that you asked for and they do glow so that we can't see your eyes."

Nate smirked and used his speed to put it on though he left the cowl off for now. Nate looked at Cisco "This feels amazing thank you Cisco, now what do you say we take the suit for a test run while I look for Grodd?"

Cisco nods "Let's do it man."

Nate and Cisco fist bump before Nate looks at Barry "Wanna tag along and see if we can find an old friend Barr?"

Barry shakes his head "No way man, none of the animal's you've helped have ever liked me."

Nate chuckles "Yeah I never did understand that because they've liked everyone else, even Hartley and he can a bit of an asshole at times."

Cisco looked at Nate "At times? Dude he was a dick all the time."

Nate sighed "No he acted that way because that's the way he actually saw you trying to prove him wrong, what you don't know Cisco is that he was always proud when you did, he just had a bad way of showing it but with parents like his you can't really blame him."

Cisco sighed "I hate when you pull the parents card on me dude, but yeah you're right besides Hartley could have been a lot worse or I could have been the same way so I'll let it go."

Nate nods "Good now let me see if we can find Grodd."

With that Nate takes off and starts to search the city for Grodd. Ten minutes later he slides to a stop in the cortex and papers go flying everywhere. Nate rubes the back of his head "I'll clean this up at normal speed and get some paperweights so that this doesn't happen every Barry or I take off from here to go help someone."

Caitlin and Cisco nod in agreement and Barry looks at Nate "So I should get some paperweights for my lab at CCPD?"

Nate looked at Barry with a raised eyebrow "Why haven't you already done that?"

Barry shrugged "I didn't think about it."

Nate face palms "Moron."

Iris giggled "Yeah well Barry always was that way Nate."

Nate sighed and smiled "I know but he's still my little brother."

Barry smiled before a thoughtful look crossed his face "Nate you said that the two of us ran back in time to save mom but we failed. So what if we run back there when we get fast enough and save mom?"

Nate looked at Barry before smacking him upside his head "Don't be stupid Barry you can't go changing the timeline whenever you want. There are points in time that have to happen a certain way and if you go back and mess with those times than everything is missed up when you come back and that means that you've created another timeline where someone else has to suffer because of your decision. So just leave the timeline as it is right now."

Barry looked at Nate and sighed sadly "Alright I'll listen to you."

Nate put a hand on Barry's shoulder and pulled him in for a hug "I know that it's hard little brother but we have to be strong because there are people counting on us to be the heroes now even if they don't know it yet. I'm sorry that we have to deal with but at least we're not alone. We have a team to help us with this and all we have to do is learn to work together."

Barry pulled away and smiled "Yeah I got it Nate and I'm sorry I know how hard this must be for you because you've known for fourteen years that we can't go back and save mom."

Nate nods "Yeah but that doesn't mean we can't go back and say goodbye to her plus we can show her that we became the heroes she always told us we could be."

Barry nods "Yeah we can do that but I think I'll need a little time to myself after we get dad out of jail."

Nate nods "Good because I know that dad is going to travel when he gets out so why don't you go with him after we get him out?"

Barry nods "Yeah that sounds good."

Nate smirks "Who knows you might find yourself a girl out there."

Barry sighs "It won't matter if I did because I could never bring her into this part of my life."

Nate flicked Barry on the forehead "Don't talk that way idiot, if you find a girl and you're serious about keeping her around I expect you to bring her here so one of us can tell her everything about what we do and maybe we'll have a spot on the team for her."

Barry blinked a few times before looking at Nate "Why would you want me to bring someone new into the team?"

Nate sighed "I said that because if your relationship gets serious then you need to tell the girl the truth."

Barry nods "Fine if it gets serious between me and a girl I'll tell her the truth about this."

Nate smiled "Good now I didn't find Grodd but I'm sure that he'll show up at some point. However we still have a city to protect and training to do."

Barry groaned "Can't training wait until tomorrow?"

Nate sighed "No Barr it can't because we need to get use to our speed and you specifically need to work on stopping."

Barry face palmed "I'm never living that one down am I?"

Nate chuckled "Sure just not for a couple of weeks is all."

Barry groaned "Damn and here I thought I'd finally gotten out of being teased by you."

Nate smirked "That's never going to happen little brother."

Everyone else chuckled at the interaction between the brothers. Nate looked around and smiled as he thought 'This might not be the family I was born to but this is my family and I'll protect them with all of my power.'

Joe caught Nate's stare "What are you thinking son?"

Nate smiled "I'm thinking that while this isn't the family Barr and I were born to this is still our family and I'll protect everyone here with all of my power."

Joe was the only one to hear because everyone else was talking among themselves. Joe smiled and patted Nate's back "We'll all be here to help so you don't have to take it all on alone."

Nate nods "I know because I can't do this all on my own pops."
