I think it might be easier if we

Fell away to the bottom of the sea.

I bet it might be easier to flee.

Run for the hills where you can't find me.

Days Later

The Roe Home

Lucas smiled getting out from under his mother's tight embrace.

"I've missed you so much. I never thought you would be gone for so long. How is my granddaughter and Peyton.? Update me my boy. Phone calls and once in awhile video calls just aren't enough." Karen stated.

"I've missed you too Momma. Life is busy. Sawyer is thriving. Peyton and I. She took Sawyer on a girls trip. They are in LA having fun then they are going to spend some time with Larry. You know Peyton's dad." Lucas replied. Stuffing his mouth full of snacks.

Karen laughed. "Yes dear. I'm fully aware who Larry is. I'm glad you, Peyton, and Sawyer are doing so well. I just wish the three of you would visit more."

"There is only so much spoiling and advice a mother/grandmother can do over a computer." Karen said.

"I'm sorry. I've been so distance. It's not on purpose. Life can be really complicated. I'm trying to sort things out." Lucas replied.

Karen took his hand in hers. "This is you're mom you're talking too. You don't think i know when you're lying. What's really going on Lucas.?" She questioned.

Lucas sighed deeply. Looking down at his ringing cellphone.

The sight of Peyton's cellphone number caused him to cringe.

"I have to take a call. I'll be right back." Lucas proclaimed. Getting up from where he was seated. As he left the home and went out onto the front porch.

Closing the front door behind him.

"Luke. Don't hang up. I'm in Tree Hill." Peyton rambled on.

Lucas felt his heart sink. "Go home. You coming after me. Wasn't the plan. I need time and space to think." He replied.

Hell if it was up to her. I would of never found out. Lucas thought to himself.

He agreed to meet with her. Only because if didn't see her now. He would lose his nerve and keep avoiding her.

After ending the visit and promising to visit more. Lucas left his mother's home and drove straight to the Rivercourt that empty. To his relief. Aside from Peyton sitting on one of the benches.

At the sight of him. Peyton walked over. With tears welling up in her eyes.

"Come home. We can figure all of this out. I'm sorry. This doesn't have to change anything." Peyton pleaded.

"Lucas's eyes went wide. "You've been lying to me for 12 years!"

"You watched me fall in love with my. Sawyer. Just for me to find out now. That she was Jake's daughter all along!"

"This marriage is over!" Lucas announced.

Sometime Later

The Baker Home

Brooke's laughter was heard as she hugged her boys tightly.

"My first and best dance partners of the night." Brooke gushed.

"You look beautiful momma." Davis said.

"Super pretty. Like you could be in a magazine or on tv." Jude added in.

"Thank you. The two of you behave for grandma Victoria and grandpa Ted." Brooke instructed.

We will." The boys said in unison.

Brooke felt her heart swell with pride. Her sons kept her going. They were her light. All dark hair and dimples.

At the sight of her husband coming down the stairs she smiled.

"You look handsome babe." Brooke complimented.

"Are you dancing on a table.? How much do you charge a night. I do not want other men looking at you and flirting with you. Cover yourself up now! Or we'll stay home." Julian demanded.

"I thought you would like this. I don't get to dress up much these days or put on makeup. I wanted to look good for you. Sexy." Brooke replied.

"Change! And i'm not touching you. So why make the effort." Julian stated.

"I'm sorry." Brooke replied. Her eyes burning from unshed tears as she went upstairs to change.
