Hello, everyone! Here is the second chapter of Haikyuu! Ninjas! Basara Sengoku makes his appearance and proves to be more dangerous to Karasuno than the year with their counterparts.
Chapter 2 - Enter: Sengoku Basara!
"Time to see if you are the new students that softy primate excuse of a master cherishes." Basara explained.
Most of Karasuno felt a sense of dread looking at the man despite seeing him for the first time. Almost like reminiscing the feeling their counterparts felt facing him plenty of times.
"Curse you, Basara. Why must you harm them now after all this time?" Master Saru asked, in an angry manner.
"Don't try to act all tough. You only have yourself to blame for not finishing me off because of our friendship." Basara replied, disregarding the notion of the friendship between the Red Dragons leader and the monkey ninjutsu master.
This got Karasuno enraged with gritted teeth and tightened grips on their respective weapons. Mere insulting can get the crows angry, but the callous tone Basara said created an air of rage. Hinata was especially enraged the most.
"If this is all true… that my counterpart defeated you in the past… then I will do so again!" Hinata hollered.
Without fear, Hinata charged towards Basara full throttle to the shock of Master Saru and Karasuno.
"HINATA!" Yachi, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi and Kiyoko exclaimed in unison.
"That idiot!" Tsukishima thought.
"Hinata, YOU DUMBASS!" Kageyama shouted.
"Stop you, fool!" Master Saru hollered.
Basara grinned as Hinata was in striking distance. Swinging his swords in a downward vertical motion, his swords were met by Basara's staff.
Hinata quickly backed off and dashed to the right before lunging forward again. Basara swerved to the left, dodging Hinata's lunging attack before delivering a strong punch to the gut. Hinata coughed saliva as the others stood in shock.
"You're the same as ever: foolish and careless." Basara said.
Hinata, who coughed earlier, grinned. "Even so, I'm not alone." He said.
Basara noticed what Hinata meant when Tanaka and Nishinoya jumped above Hinata and kicked him together, slightly pushing him back.
Asahi delivered a strong right punch with his metallic fist and right at Basara's jaw. Basara didn't budge from the second strike and attempted to attack the Karasuno ace with a cross right fist, but Daichi intercepted with his shield in the nick of time, strong enough to withstand the punch. But the intense force blew the two third years back.
Sugawara pole-vaulted with his staff over Basara and swept his staff in a low motion to knock him off his feet, but Basara easily jumped up and kicked Sugawara away.
Tanaka rushed in and repeatedly jabbed his sais at Basara, who used his staff to block each and every jab. He grabbed Tanaka by the face and threw him into a nearby tree. Hinata attempted to strike, but Basara moved to the side and slammed his staff on Hinata, knocking him to the ground.
Ennoshita and Nishinoya jumped into the fray with Nishinoya sliding on the ground with his feet holding Ennoshita, pushing forward to give Ennoshita the strength for a booster attack with his tonfas.
Basara swung his staff horizontally, forcing Ennoshita to block with his left tonfa, which gave Nishinoya a chance to strike with his twirling nunchucks. Basara blocked Nishinoya next and swung both the second year libero and substitute outside hitter with lightning speed, knocking them aside.
Kageyama fired three arrows from his bow at Basara, who smacked them in half with his staff. Kageyama gritted in anger before drawing his wakizashi and charged in for close-combat. Basara blocked the blade with his staff and pushed the setter aside.
Basara attempted to strike Kageyama, but true to being Karasuno's defensive wall, Tsukishima stood in his way with his double-bladed sword and stood firm.
"Stop getting worked up, Your Majesty." Tsukishima commented.
"Oh, shut up!" Kageyama exclaimed.
Tsukishima pushed forward, with Yamaguchi joining the fray by thrusting his spear at Basara's right abdomen, actually managing to wound him.
"Alright!" Yamaguchi thought.
"Predictable." Basara said, smacking Yamaguchi with the back of his right fist hard before using his staff straight at Tsukishima's stomach hard, causing the tall blocker to cough saliva before being flown into a tree hard.
Master Saru and Kiyoko jumped into the fray and joined Kageyama in fierce combat with Basara, hoping to use numbers to keep him off-balance.
Basara fended off three fighters simultaneously without trouble like he did with the third years. Kiyoko backed off and threw her fans with accurate force; the fans flew in two separate directions but Basara smacked them away and back to Kiyoko's hands.
Basara then charged at Kiyoko, but Kageyama fired several arrows that forced the larger monkey to deflect them. Master Saru used his tail to grab Basara's and used his own staff to strike Basara hard in the back. Basara gritted his teeth and used his own tail to fling Master Saru into the air. Master Saru let go and flipped to regain momentum. Kiyoko lunged close and used her fans to try and blind Basara, but Basara dodge and attempted to strike Kiyoko again. Kageyama managed to tackle Kiyoko to prevent her from getting hit, though the two managed to hit the ground with Kageyama on top of Kiyoko.
"Are you okay?" Kageyama asked.
Kiyoko nodded as she and Kageyama had their eyes on each other for a whole second before Kageyama quickly backed off. He extended his hand out and she grabbed it, pulling her up.
But before they could compose themselves, Basara tackled them both to the ground before tossing them to separate directions, having knocked Master Saru when he attempted an aerial attack.
Yachi, having been on the sidelines for long enough due to her fear, she mustered some courage to charge with her tanto and attempted to strike but missed.
"As always, you're just deadweight, little girl." Basara said.
Basara attempted to strike down Yachi, but Hinata intercepted with his swords colliding with Basara's staff.
"Yachi-san's not deadweight! She's freakin' amazing!" Hinata hollered.
Yachi blushed after being complimented by Hinata.
"Insult her again and I'll cut you down!" Hinata hollered, managing to push Basara with sheer force and decided his next attack.
"Dragon Fang!" Hinata shouted, performing an "X"-shaped slash from his swords with a burst of speed that nailed Basara on the spot at his chest.
Now getting angry, Basara used his tail to grab Hinata's left leg and trip him before unleashing a barrage of punches on Hinata, who didn't have time to block the attacks and kicked him into Yachi, who didn't have time to dodge herself.
Master Saru got up and to his horror seeing the Karasuno teens defeated.
"Pathetic. This is the plan they've gambled on only to return as meager school children?" Basara asked.
"What a waste of my time." Basara said.
Master Saru grew angry and charged at Basara head-on. Basara retaliated by striking with his left palm, but Master Saru jumped over and began channeling some kind of chi energy into his staff, glowing yellow and hit Basara in the back of the head.
Basara retaliated by firing a blast of chi that Master Saru deflected with his energized staff, then prepared himself by focusing his chi for his next move.
"I think it's time I put you down for good." Master Saru said.
"Please, old friend - you don't have what it takes!" Basara hollered, generating a much larger ball of chi.
Both masters continued channeling their energies before ready to strike.
"Yellow Crescent!" Master Saru shouted, firing a yellow crescent energy attack from his staff that was fired from a horizontal movement.
"Power Wave!" Basara shouted, shooting a large blast of chi from his right palm.
Both attacks collided fiercely as both masters roared with no intention of backing down.
An explosion soon erupted with everyone else that were still knocked out in the vicinity blown away.

Hinata slowly opened his eyes from the shockwave that blasted him back. He got up and to his horror, sees an unconscious Master Saru in Basara's grip.
"Like I said - you don't have what it takes." Basara said.
"You bastard!" Hinata hollered.
Hinata tried to get up, but Basara's attacks from earlier have taken their toll on his body.
Basara noticed Hinata and smirked.
"Still standing? Well, I can tell you and your friends to come find me at my castle. If any of you have the courage to face me like your counterparts once did." Basara explained.
Yachi, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi and Kiyoko, all who managed to regain conciseness, shocked to hear what he said besides Hinata.
Basara soon teleported himself and the unconscious Master Saru away.
Hinata gritted his teeth in frustration.

A few seconds later…
"WE'RE GOING?!" Yachi, Yamaguchi, Ennoshita, Sugawara and Asahi exclaimed in unison, now frightened.
"Just because we're high school students inhabiting souls of our own counterparts, we still have to take that guy down if we ever want to get back home." Daichi explained.
"The captain's right. Master Saru told us the whole story, and our counterparts would've done the same thing!" Hinata hollered.
"As much as I would disagree, but I think Hinata and Sawamura-senpai are right." Tsukishima explained.
"Y-You serious too, Tsuki?!" Yamaguchi exclaimed.
"It's not like volleyball or high school where you get another chance… it's much different when your life is on the line." Tsukishima explained.
"Feels weird when you agree with that dumbass on rare occasions." Kageyama commented.
Tsukishima gave a scowl while Hinata gritted his teeth.
"I have to agree with that bean pole jerk. We won't forgive that Sun Wukong ripoff for what he's done!" Tanaka hollered.
"Ryu's right! We gotta take the fight to him!" Nishinoya hollered, agreeing with his best friend.
"We have to stop him and now." Kiyoko said, with determination.
Tanaka and Nishinoya were at awe with heart-shaped eyes, much to the annoyance of the others.
"Kiyoko-san!" Tanaka and Nishinoya thought in unison.
Kageyama was awed too, but unlike Tanaka and Nishinoya, he was just stoic despite his eyes widening but had a small blush.
Sugawara noticed and nudged Daichi to see Kageyama, who in turn smirked himself.
"C'mon, guys. We're doing this as a team… and a family!" Hinata hollered.
The rest of Karasuno (even Tsukishima) all agreed with what's at stake.
"But… where are we going?" Hinata asked.
Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Daichi, Sugawara and Asahi sighed in irritation.
Kiyoko was simply emotionless.
But for Yachi, she simply giggled before remembering something from the knowledge her counterpart left after her counterpart's soul came to her the year before she joined Karasuno.
"I think I know where it is!" Yachi hollered.
Everyone became joyed.
"YACHI-SAN~!" Hinata, Kageyama and Yamaguchi cheered in unison.
Yachi sheepishly laughed while rubbing the back of her head awkwardly.

Thanks to the memories of her counterpart, Yachi was able to point out the directions to where Basara's castle is located.
They made it by moving on foot, but with the more parkour ninja movement through the forests until they see a large citadel in the middle of the forest itself.
They made it to the entrance, and it feels completely empty.
"This feels like a trap." Tsukishima said.
"Then let's storm the joint and save Monkey Gramps!" Tanaka hollered, twirling his sais.
"Gather 'round, gang!" Daichi hollered.
All 12 Karasuno members gathered in a big circle huddled together with their hands in.
"You all ready for this?" Daichi asked.
Hinata and the others nodded in agreement.
"Karasuno! Fight!" Daichi hollered.
"YEAH!" Hinata, Yachi, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi and Kiyoko shouted in unison.

The fight was quite the spectacle! Sorry it was one-sided for Karasuno to be beat, but Basara is a frightening opponent, to say he's like the Shredder from TMNT! The real fun is about to begin in Basara's castle to take down Basara and save Master Saru, and all the Red Dragons will be there to take on our crows!
