provision license exam this time! And Law appears for the first time! Enjoy~

Luffy slammed into the ground on his back, making an "oof!" sound, being thrown back from Zoro's repel burst. He was fine, and Sanji was fine. The two of them rushed at their green haired friend, Luffy taking advantage of his size and wight, evading Zoro's hits and clawing at him from below. Sanji was more upfront, kicking hard. They got some good hits in, but Zoro threw them further back and both rolled on the grass of their training area.

Zoro rushed them, punching Sanji in the face and attempting to kick Luffy, who gripped him in his four, strong though little arms, wrapping them around his leg, slamming him down into the ground over his head. He put his clawed hands on his throat and above his eyes. "Fucking damnit," Zoro cursed. "I give." Even though Luffy was still as little as he was in fifth grade, he was strong and fast.

Nobody knew why he stopped physically aging at ten years old. It left him just over 4'1. He had been this height since he was in fifth grade. His face looked older, but he was still very small. Even though he was skinny, he was strong. Nothing was off about his health other than his size and child-liks appearance.

And he didn't look like he had a disorder or anything. His body was perfectly proportioned. He was teased a lot about it until he would show them his size in beast form, which was much, much bigger than his normal one.

Sanji rubbed his jaw in irritation. "Don't worry, we'll be just fine," Luffy encouraged them positively. "I'm sure we'll all get in if we do our best. We've studied like hell," the fourteen year old said. He popped his neck and stretched his arms.

"Easy for you to say. You're the strongest one out of us all." Luffy pointed out his quirk had serious drawbacks. "But you got over that awhile ago." They never factored in his size as strength. He'd moved on from it. It was what it was, and he hoped someday his body would age. But it wasn't right now. He was just lucky nothing else came from it. Just being small.

"I guess. But I'm not physically stronger than you guys in my normal body. I'm tiny, but just good at utilizing it," Luffy said brightly.

"Once we're in, the world will have to acknowledge you as an powerful person, even if you're still small," he said with a laugh. "The sports festival will really show you off. And I'm sure Thatch will be cheering you on." Luffy nodded and sat on the grass of their self proclaimed training area. Luffy pointed out that Zoro and Sanji had to make themselves known as well. Then he grinned.

"If we all do get in, we could take the top three places. Our years of extra training would pay off. After all, we're not Bakugo. We practice and develop our powers against one another. I think we're more than prepared to make our marks," Luffy said happily, flopping onto the grass on his back, looking at the bright blue sky above.

Sanji laid down, too, arms behind his head. "It'll be so fun to piss him off in the ring. If he gets in. He probably will. I wonder who else will be there. If we know anybody."

"I hope Midoriya has the courage to apply, even if he doesn't have a quirk. Wouldn't it be inspiring to have a hero that doesn't have a quirk? I don't know how it would work, but I hope he gets to live out his dream."

Zoro sat down against the training log thrust into the ground, and agreed with that. He wondered what everyone would think when they saw Luffy's quirk's full form. If they made fun of his size, he'd show them he wasn't a little kid with his large beast form. That was the routine. And he'd be starting high school soon. Who knows how tall people there will be?

That really was the only way he could describe his other form: a beast. But he also wasn't upset about being the opposite. Sure, he would love to be normal sized, but he could be a little hero. One that stands out in a different way. He was strong and fast, he could be a hero. Even if he still looked like a child, he could still be successful. And he would be!

"They'd probably be freaked out, honestly. But hopefully they'd see me as different from my full quirk. Who knows? I guess we'll just wait and see." He looked at his front left hand, holding it up above him, easily opening and closing his hands. He took his finger gloves and slid them over. Each finger had one shealth for it. It was better than having a glove. He made his now hidden clawed hand into a fist. "I kind of hope it scares Bakugo. Probably will scare Midoriya, too, though, if he joins."

Sanji rolled onto his side. "Nah. He knows who you are, he won't be scared of his longtime friend." They had been friends in elementary school, but not best friends. Then he'd gone to a different junior high than the three did. Luffy said maybe. He had a lot to live up to with Ace and Sabo. Ace and Sabo was already working with the Whitebeards, Ace's life-long dream coming true. He lived in an apartment with Sabo near the agency.

Luffy was able to visit them, and they didn't live that far, but he still miss them both. Mom didn't let him go off on his own unless it was day time. She knew he was strong enough, even if someone thought he was a kid and tried to hurt him. It was nice, having her complete trust. And she didn't smother him for being her last son, who still looked so young. She understood his need to have some independence. His family was wonderful. He couldn't say the same for Sanji's brothers. Luckily, he lived with his mom, their parents separated. Niji, Ichiji and Yonji lived with their crappy father while Sanji lived with his loving mom.

"I'm glad your brothers aren't applying to UA," Luffy said, arms spread out. Sanji was also very happy with this. They didn't aim to be heroes, they wanted to take over the family business and be wealthy beyond belief. Luffy was perfectly happy with never seeing them again.

The three headed back to Luffy's place so Sanji and Zoro could ride their bikes back home. They'd have to take the train or bus to UA, while Luffy could run. Zoro was always very jealous of Luffy's speed and how he didn't take up much space on sidewalks and always knew where things were around him. He'd never run in front of a car or knocked anybody over. By the time anyone realized something zoomed past him, he was gone.

They ate like monsters, all three of them hungry from training and able to eat a lot. Makino asked Luffy how the training went. "We think we're ready! Well, we are ready. And excited, too. We're sure Bakugo is gonna be real pissy when the three of us make it in." Makino smiled and said she was sure the three of them would do great.

Sanji said that they'd do their best and be the top three, no matter what.

"I have to live up to Ace and Sabo. They were top students. I'll just have to work harder to gain trust in my strength because of my appearance," Luffy said around his sandwich. Zoro pointed out that people in hero courses were more accepting of other quirk users. He pointed out his size and appearance, but nobody had a response to that. Zoro skipped over it, and continued.

"I mean, c'mon, have you seen some of the quirks? Some people look completely creepy or unapproachable. You can market your appearance."

Luffy said, "Well, I kind of have to. Have to stand out in some way. Trying to act macho and crazy strong won't match my appearance. I am strong, but i'm not gonna tout that when it doesn't look true. Appearance matters. Sadly." The other two nodded. Both of them were tall for their age, and fit. As fit as Luffy was, he just didn't look dependable like they did.

"Well, we'll succeed, regardless of appearances. We all have the potential," Sanji said.

They all had a shared agreement on that. They had confidence in their capabilities, no matter appearances. After Sanji and Zoro left before the sun went down, racing each other to see who got to the end of the street the fastest, Luffy got a text from Thatch.

Good luck with the exam! Luffy grinned and said he and his friends would pass no matter what. Thatch sent a thumbs up emoji. Luffy remembered when he was seven and officially declared he wanted to be a hero. That was before he was forced to take his appearance into account. Before he knew he was going to stay small. When he had told Thatch in a letter, he'd been really happy he was brave enough to put himself out there like that. He clicked with Thatch, and hoped he was good enough to be offered to work with them.

Like how Marco connected with Ace and Izo with Sabo, Thatch clicked with Luffy. Though Ace and Sabo met their favorite heroes when they were young adults, Luffy met Thatch when he was really little, and had no previous opinion of him. Thatch was the one to approach him. Since that meeting, Luffy had gone on long runs with him. The only other person he knew who could keep up with him. The pro hero had a big soft spot for Luffy, and not just because he was cute and fluffy.

Luffy had no trouble sleeping in his bed. He'd never gotten a larger mattress since he didn't need it. Most of the little furniture worked for him. He was travel sized. He bet that the tables and chairs at UA would definitely not be made for him. Well, he was able to sit on a chair and stretch his body up okay without it being uncomfortable. Well, he'd get a good look the next day!

When he did fall asleep, he felt he hadn't gotten any at all when his phone's alarm buzzed obnoxiously right next to his head. He grunted and pulled his ears down, flattening them to his head more before his eyes snapped open and he bolted upright. He started to panic before taking some calming breaths. He wasn't going to be scared of nervous for this.

He showered and then blow dried all his soaking fur with the extremely powerful dryer, like the ones in public places that you stick your hands into to dry with air, and then furiously scrubbed his teeth. He threw on exercise clothes that would stretch just fine with him when he changed into his beast form.

Still no shoes, but the paw pads on the bottoms of his feet were hard enough now to never step on anything sharp, though when it was hot, he put on things similar to dog booties. Well, he did what he had to.

He was worried about what kind of test it was going to be. He didn't remember Ace and Sabo's entrance exam. Didn't ask since he didn't want to have some expectation that would be wrong. He didn't want to expect anything. He was buzzing with excitement. Makino was already making breakfast, french toast that he ate quickly, five slices and a yogurt.

His mother hugged him. "Good luck, sweetie," she said encouragingly. He grinned and nodded, saying he'd make everyone proud. "I'm proud no matter the turn out. But you know that." Luffy nodded again, and left, his backpack securely on, wrapped around his middle as well. He waved and then shot off. He had his headphones and goggles on that Thatch gave him when he turned 13 and was finally allowed to go and run by himself. The goggles helped with the wind in his humanoid form.

He went very quickly, but at a normal pace for him. Nothing to spend extra energy. When he got there, he saw just how big UA was, having memorized the route long ago. He'd been there years ago, for Ace and Sabo's graduation. But that was when he was younger and he didn't get to see much of the campus.

He stopped at the base of the school, finding Sanji was already there, now both of them waiting for Zoro. It didn't take long, and soon the three of them were waking up the path, hearts beating rapidly.

"I spent all night studying," Sanji said. Luffy laughed and said he watched TV. Zoro said he practiced his moves. "You realize the test is a big factor, too, right?" the blonde asked in a deadpanned voice.

Luffy replied, "Don't worry about it. If we learned something new last night, we would be doomed regardless. Unless we have lucky guesses." Zoro said that was a good point. Luffy looked around to see lots of different looking kids. People stared at him, thinking he was out of place being so small, and the rest of his appearance didn't do anything to make them not stare. Thatch said, from Marco, that it was normal for people to be fascinated with unique physical quirks. So he was okay with that.

He was wearing blue clothes that was fine with his fluff. He had shorts on and a tank top. Being black meant he matched with any color, unlike his green and yellow haired friends.

The written test happened the moment the clock ticked 8:30. Luffy had his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth as he answered each question surely. He glanced to the sides to see Sanji and Zoro looking completely calm. The side of Sanji's face Luffy could see looked completely relaxed.

The tables and chairs were indeed not meant for somebody of his size, but he made it work. It was fine, and he hadn't expected anything different.

None of them were worried about the written test. It was all basic information, much of which should be something everybody knew. So it was easy. Luffy doodled on the back of his paper before the alarm went off, the time over. Some were upset, having not finished their tests. Poor guys.

When they stood up, Luffy finally saw Midoriya and Bakugo, the only others that had applied to UA that they felt would. All of them had been at the same school since kindergarten, before middle school. They knew each other well from the seven years of going to school together, even though Midoirya and Bakugo hadn't seen his full quirk. The three hurried to Midoriya, and asked how he was.

Luffy realized they also must think the two year difference changed Luffy's appearance. His height and everything. He had always been small for his age, but this was unnatural. And when Midoriya turned around at their voices, and saw Luffy, he looked baffled.

"Ah, my body seemed to have stopped getting taller at fifth grade," Luffy said honestly. "Nobody knows why." The freckled one looked sad for him, but Luffy wave it off. He was used to it by now. They tiptoed around the fact that he had no quirk yet was applying for the hero course. They hoped he wouldn't die.

"I'm nervous. You guys don't seem to be."

Luffy grinned and said he was excited. Sanji said he couldn't wait to see what the test was. What they had to do, if they had to be stronger. "I have no doubt we'll be accepted, but I at least hope it's fun. I know I won't really seem like I should be accepted, but I will be. I'll show everyone," Luffy said with conviction.

Zoro smirked. "Hopefully in a hero course we get to fight a lot. Can't wait to finally battle Bakugo." Luffy said he was excited to finally get to use his full quirk. Midoriya frowned at their lax attitudes.

"We're weirdos, you don't gotta measure up to us," Luffy said simply. Then Midoriya looked at him in surprise. He asked what he meant about his quirk. "My real quirk has only been seen by a handful of people. Not including you or Bakugo."

"What? Why?"

Sanji grinned and said, "It'd scare you." Zoro chuckled, and agreed. "Though we weren't scared when he showed us the first time 8 years ago. Still, it'll be a shock to a lot of people I bet," the blonde finished. They were directed by signs to the auditorium room. It was huge! The four of them sat in the very front so Luffy would be able to see perfectly as everything was explained.

So, they were fighting robots. Zoro looked thrilled at this. Luffy knew he was excited he didn't need to pull any punches on people. Luffy and Sanji were both smiling, too, excited as well. Midoirya was shaking. But there was nothing they could do to help him. He did this knowing what might happen.

The three did not ask him about his plan. If he had none, which Luffy doubted, then it would only make him more worried. The four of them didn't share a ring. They were each in a different place. "See you at the top, right?"

Zoro smirked. "No one will beat me. But I expect you two to be at the top, too." Sanji raised his brows in questioning.

"I doubt you'll beat either of us," the blonde said. Zoro scowled at him and Luffy just laughed, telling them to do their best and have fun. "Don't scare too many people." Luffy laughed and said he couldn't help others' reactions. "That's true. Well, make your mark, you guys."

The three gave high fives before hurrying to their buses taken to the areas they would be fighting. Luffy shared the grounds with Bakugo, who was sneering in the back of the bus, making fun of his size. Luffy ignore the petty insults and was excited with just how huge this campus was. Plenty of room for him to run around and explore! He couldn't wait!

And All Might was apparently teaching that year. Luffy wasn't a huge All Might fan. His favorite was Thatch and then Marco and Whitebeard after Ace introduced them both with such joy. Ace was such a favorite to them that he had a video call with Luffy and they talked to him, too. It was a crazy experience.

So, it wasn't a deal breaker that All Might was teaching, but it would be a cool class to be taught by such a pro. When they got off of the bus, there was a large group of kids, all different looking and unique. Many of them looked odd, but in ways other than Luffy. Nobody was so small, though. Many were much taller. He pushed through the crowd, some not even noticing he was there as he moved between them.

He was going to go all out of this and be the top. He couldn't let his friends beat him, and he'd show he wasn't a sixth grade weakling! He knew they were strong enough to be at the top. He contemplated taking off his pants, but didn't. Instead, he took off his finger gloves and clenched them inwards.

"The hell are you doing here, being so tiny? What happened, huh?" Bakugo taunted. Luffy didn't respond, and once the time started, he zoomed into the city. The "ring" was literally a small and compact city. He zoomed to each bot in his small form before transforming and ripping them apart viciously. He moved to the next, embedding his claws in it, ripping out its insides and making it explode. He did that for most of them.

He ripped them apart, his sharp claws tearing them into bits and pieces. He left behind hunks of metal with scratch marks on them. He was heading in one direction, leaving the rest for the others. It was unfair, him being able to sense where they were and have his speed and cover a lot of ground. He stopped counting at seventy bots before he decided he'd stolen enough. After all, Bakugo still had to get in.

Luffy zoomed back to the entrance gate and just made it in time for the big bot to appear. Luffy didn't really feel like fighting the useless bot, so he watched it cause destruction, having changed back, his small legs danging over the side of a building as he watched.

The robot noticed him, and he just dodged the hits. He climbed its arm and got on its head lightly. He had fun making it try to get him off. He embedded his clawed fingers into the metal to hand on as it grew frantic, chuckling at it. Well, he kept it distracted. When the time was up, he slid down its back and to the ground. So many of the people in the bus were glaring at him hatefully. But it looked like Bakugo got enough since he wasn't screeching at Luffy about taking all of his prey. When they got back to the main building, Luffy went searching for his friends and found Sanji and Zoro talking.

"Guys! How'd you do?" he asked cheerily, happy with the outcome. They both beamed. "I got seventy," Luffy said. Sanji frowned but Zoro beamed. The blonde said he'd gotten sixty four. Zoro said they'd tied. "What are the odds of that happening?!" Luffy exclaimed. They all gave high fives.

They waited for Midoriya to come out, wondering how his went. When Luffy smelled the bus coming, they waited by the entrance into the main room. A large one there they'd collect their things from lockers they had the combinations for, to get their things.

When their old friend came out, he looked so upset and tired. The three asked if he was okay, how it went. He smiled shakily, said he'd not done well at all. "I managed to get the large robot, but it didn't have any points, and I also broke my arm and two legs. Y-Yeah, my quirk is bad for my body."

Luffy asked why he got it so late. Midoriya said his circumstances were special. "Well, I can't really be nosy and complain, can I?" he asked, laughing about it. The freckled one asked how he'd done. "I think I got 70. I'm glad people won't think I'm a sixth grader." Midoriya looked impressed, and said he was glad that he wouldn't be looked down on.

"You really don't know why you stopped growing?" he asked, but Luffy said he shouldn't be concerned. He was perfectly healthy, just very small for his age. But at least it made him light and able to run and jump better.

He asked if they all wanted to get some smoothies, but Midoriya just wished to go home. Luffy could understand he was very upset. He had hoped that the boy would have grown more confident in himself, especially now that he had a quirk, but he can't use it without hurting himself. It was very sad, and unfair.

They said goodbye to him sadly, and went to get their things. Then Bakugo was behind them. Luffy ignored him, and asked where they wanted to go, since a bunch of shopping and eating centers would be open.

But then he felt and smelled somebody watching them. Luffy turned around and dropped his things. Zoro, Sanji and Bakugo all looked at where he was looking at. "What the hell?" Zoro asked. There was somebody their age that looked eerily similar to Luffy, only his fur was all white with black spots but for black hair. And he was a normal height.

Luffy ran to him, and the guy didn't move away. "Who are you?" Luffy asked.

"Law…"

"I'm Luffy. How do you have that quirk? Can you turn into a beast, too?" he asked frantically, having no idea how this was possible. Well, some people had similar quirks, but this one was crazy. But instead of turning into what Luffy was, he turned into some kind of long, four legged creature with a long face and large wings.

One of his two sets of arms turned into his wings. Luffy changed into his body. Law was bigger than him. He could hear Bakugo and others still there questioning what they were doing, how they were doing that. "I'm leaving," Law suddenly said, transforming back to normal and then running off on two legs that were not so fluffy, not all six of them like Luffy.

He returned to his friends, all three of them shocked. Bakugo didn't bother them, surprisingly, himself probably shocked as well. How did somebody have a quirk so similar to Luffy's? He thought his was original. But, Law was bigger and more normally proportioned and looked nothing like Luffy did in his beast form.

He ran home, thinking but still paying attention to where he went, while his best friends rode their bikes to the train station. When he got home, he went straight to his room, Makino asking how it went, but seeing him go straight to his room made her worry.

She knocked on the door, and Luffy said she could come in. "How was it? How'd you do?" she asked nervously. Luffy shook his head and turned around, and told her about how it went, and what had happened at the end.

"Mom… Am I actually a normal person? With just a weird quirk? Why can't I grow bigger?" he asked, sounding lost. Like how he looked, not a nearly 15 year old. Makino sat down on the bed and said he had been like any baby. There had been nothing abnormal with him just because his quirk was very different.

The mother said, "Your blood type and all other physical conditions are completely normal, have been. There was nothing alarming to any doctors at any time. You are a human. Even though nobody knows why you stopped growing, there are no serious health problems. You're my baby." She said it all firmly, and Luffy nodded. He hoped Law would be accepted. Man, it would be cool to fly.

He wondered if there were even more people that looked like him. Maybe it was a whole genre of quirks? If there were more than one, more than two, then maybe Luffy's quirk wasn't so odd anyways. Maybe a lot of other people had it, but those people weren't heroes in Japan. This wasn't the only place with quirks, the rest of the world had it. So, it shouldn't really be so surprising.

Well, it kind of was, that they were in the same vicinity.

He was to wait a week for the results, knowing they had to have gotten in, even thought they didn't compare it to anybody else. Midoriya got one big bot, and who knows how many Bakugo got, or others. He wondered where Law placed, too. If he was like Luffy, did that mean he was as strong and fast? Though he wasn't tiny, he was taller than even Zoro was. He was almost two feet higher than Luffy. Man, he would have to get a new group of kids used to his size. Well, the first year was the easiest, since everyone will be in the same grade the next year. Same people, same reactions to his body size.

He laid in bed for hours, wondering how things would go. He wasn't upset, just lost in thought. Wondering how life would be from then on. He knew he didn't look like he measured up to his big brothers, but he hoped he proved he could. Luffy fell asleep on his bed, in his shirt and shorts. At dinner, Makino knocked on the door and brought it to him.

"Thank you. Sorry, I fell asleep," Luffy said. Makino said it was fine, he needed the rest. He guessed that was true. He had exercised more than usual today. He watched TV for a bit, distracted and wishing he didn't need to wait for a week.

Sanji and Zoro came over a lot between the day of the exam and the day they'd get their results. Luffy even asked if Midoriya wanted to go out to do something. He agreed, and Luffy wanted to have more friends other than Zoro and Sanji in high school. Sure, he had acquaintances, but never people he'd go out with.

So, on the day before their holograms came in the mail, Luffy knowing that method after how it had been done with Ace and Sabo, they went out to the mall. All three best friends had some money while Midoriya only had a little. He wasn't super well off. Luffy had kept half of his money because of that.

Zoro and Sanji spent all of theirs on food, while Luffy went into the pet supplies store. Midoriya came in with, asking what he was doing. "Sometimes it sucks to be like this," Luffy said, shaking one of his feet. He got some black booties for big dogs, and bought them. "I have to wear these when its cold or hot or it's like being barefoot."

He put them in a bag and one of his second arms carried it easily. The freckled teen asked if his arms were helpful for carrying groceries. There were four, after all. Luffy said that if they were balanced well, then it was very helpful. "It's actually easier for me to walk on all of them, but of course I can't do that. I don't want to look more like some weird animal and get my hands all dirty," Luffy explained honestly. Midoriya bought new weights. When Luffy was eyeing Zoro's cup of pretzel bites, he handed him one. Luffy ate it with a grin.

"I wonder what it's like to have a mutant quirk. One that you can get rid of," the formerly-quirkless teen said. Zoro said it was pretty fucking annoying with some people. He 'd seen some of the people in his ring at the practical exam, and there were some weird ones out there. Midoriya looked really sad at the mention of that and Sanji sent an annoyed look at him.

"Well, even if you don't pass, even after taking out the biggest bot, you could always switch to one of the other studies, and then switch into the hero course later once you're better at using your quirk, right?" Luffy suggested.

Midoriya stopped walking, and the other three stopped too, wondering what happened. But when they saw him, he had tears down his cheeks. "Did I say something to upset you?" Luffy asked in worry, not having meant to be insensitive. But he just wiped his eyes and said he'd never thought of that. That failing right now didn't mean he'd never be accepted. "So, they're happy tears?"

He nodded, and gave a smile, thanking Luffy, who said he was welcome. "Just gotta prove them wrong if they don't let you in on the first try," Sanji said with a grin. Midoriya nodded, and walked back to them. "Maybe you could could train with us over the summer, even if you're not accepted."

Zoro said they trained pretty hard. The shortest pointed out that he felt he'd mastered his, so helping out wouldn't be that hard. "But what is your quirk anyways? How'd it beat you up?" Luffy wondered.

Midoriya looked at his hand, and said, "It's a super power quirk. It should make me stronger and faster, but it's so hard to use on my body. It breaks me from the inside." Zoro said it was a shit quirk if it did that. "Right now it is, but once I get stronger and my body is more used to it, then it will be really useful." Luffy smiled and said he was glad he finally had a quirk, even if it sucked right now.

"Me, too."
