Chapter 3

(Morning)

(Atom's dorm)

The sun had just risen, students were beginning their weekend with smiles and laughter. Some were planning to go and hang out with their teammates, others were going to train, to hone their skills in battle and know more of their aura.

Except Atom, he was going to do the initiation with his teammates. They were arriving soon, he'd need to get them up to speed on the initiation and make sure they were ready for it.

"TELL ME WHY!" Atom sung while brushing his teeth "ain't nothing but a heart break!"

"I WANT IT! THAT WAY!" Atom continues brushing, making sure to thoroughly brush his tongue. He took in some water from the faucet and gargled, spitting it out along with the toothpaste

"There we go."

Atom looked at himself in the mirror. He was ready to meet up with his friends. He grabbed his rifle and loaded it, along with packing different ammo types on him. "I'm ready"

Atom's scroll rang. He grabbed it and saw who was calling, Glynda Goodwitch. "Heyo Ms.Goodwitch!"

"Greetings Atom, how was your morning?"

"Oh it was great, kinda jumpy because, well you know."

Glynda gave a soft chuckle "I can tell you're anxious to finally meet with your friends and new teammates and take on the initation"

"Yeah, I was actually headed towards the landing pads to wait for them"

"Oh, well I won't take any more of your time. Take care and be ready."

"Aye, Ms. Goodwitch"

(Beacon Entrance)

"Clarity Fahrenheit?" Weiss asked her partner

Yang used a pair of chopsticks to grab some of her noodles, she slurped it and nodded "Yep."

Ruby ate her own noodles "You know her Weiss?"

"Oh…I do." Weiss growled, she used her glyphs to hold her cup of noodles

Blake smiled "It sounds like you two have a bit of…history."

"Very much so. Our families have always been at Odds, competing over who is the better Dust Manufacturer." Weiss explained, with Clarity's soon arrival, she now has more reason to step up her game in Beacon

Ruby slurped noodles, but saw Atom in the distance. He was headed towards the Airship landings "Oh, there's Atom! I'll go say hi!" Ruby used her semblance and zoomed towards Atom

"Hi Atom!" Ruby stopped in front of Atom, causing him to jump.

"Oh-oh hey Ruby!" Atom smiled "How's your team doing?"

"We're doing great! We were actually eating on that table over there!" Ruby motioned to the table, the rest of RWBY waved at Atom, who gave one in return

"Wait, that's Atom?" Yang noticed the mask he wore "Can't really see his face in that.

Blake raised an eyebrow towards Yang "I think that's the point"

"Oh, well I mean yeah- but it's just weird to see it" Yang flipped her chopsticks

"I mean, Pyrrha does wear her headpiece with her uniform."

"So, what're you doing out here?" Ruby noticed Atom's mask "Cool mask by the way!"

"Thank you, my mom gave it to me" Atom motioned to the Landing pads "But my team's coming in like…I-I mean soon but you get it"

Ruby slowly swayed putting her hands behind her "Hey…I know this a bit…weird but, what kind of weapons do they have?"

Atom raised an eyebrow "Uh, I'm not sure if I should tell…"

"Oh, come on! Pleasee!" Ruby pleaded "I just really like weapons and stuff! I'll show you mine!"

Atom saw Ruby transform a device on her back into a Scythe, it was way bigger than her "Woah…wow."

Ruby gave a smirk "This is Crescent Rose, she can shoot high caliber sniper rounds and the blade can cut through Grimm skin like butter."

"That's pretty cool…" Atom passed his finger across the weapon, it was very intricate and he could tell it was passionately made "Lemme show you mine"

Atom reached for his rifle "This boi is Atomizer. It's got a 30-round magazine loaded with .556 rounds. A 612 rpm and an Energy Bayonet, made by my friend Clarity."

"That's looks neat!" Ruby felt the rifle "Very minimalistic!"

"Oh…thanks!" Atom slung his rifle back over his shoulder "Your weapon's good too!"

"Thanks! My Uncle helped me out with it"

Atom turned to the Landing Pads, he saw a Bullhead land "Wait…wait that's them! Let's go!"

Yang saw the duo make their way to the ship "I think his team arrived."

Blake threw her cup of noodles "Should we join them?"

The two noticed Weiss already making her way to the Bullhead, The Faunus and the blonde sighed, they threw their cups and went after Weiss.

Atom stood a few feet from the bullhead, he anxiously waited for his team to walk out the ship. The Ship's door opened painfully slowly, as if the airship knew of Atom's excitement and was deliberately going as slowly as possible.

The doors docked down, then out came Linda Volk. She was pale skinned with long black messy hair and yellow eyes, she was a wolf faunus with, appropriate, wolf ears. She wore a small black hoodie with a tank top underneath with bulky black pants and boots, she had two gauntlets, one in each hand.

The right gauntlet had an intricate black and white steel design across it. On the top of it was a deployable set of blades. This was 'Stinging'.

The left gauntlet had an equally intricate white and gold design, on top of the gauntlet was a rifle barrel and a 30-round caseless magazine. This was 'Storm'.

Following behind her was Sylvia Dorado. She had brown skin with short and sharp white hair and she had bright magenta eyes. She wore a large black and gold trimmed poncho with long yellow puffy fingerless gloves, her pants were tight with belts on her hip and slim gold and black boots.

She had a holstered revolver on her hip, it had a golden barrel with a carbon fiber grip, its barrel had a feather design etched into it. This was 'Sol Shot'.

Atom finally saw Clarity Fahrenheit, she had soft, perfect beige skin with Heavenly gold blonde hair made into long twin drills and Celestial bright harlequin eyes. She wore a full body jump suit with a steel chest plate and steel plating on her arms. Her legs also had armor, they all had neon green trims on the edges.

She had a rifle on her back, it was red with a green core inside of it. There was a holographic sight on it and the same energy bayonet Atom had. She also had a single red hilt on her hip, it didn't look like much but Atom knew what it was.

"Atom!" Sylvia ran up to teen and gave him a long-deserved hug "Oh we missed you!"

"Ahaaha! I missed y'all too!" Atom tightly hugged the trio, Clairty and Linda joined in on the hug "You'll love it here!"

Ruby stood near the wholesome scene, maybe her own team could hug more. Hugs were nice. Linda took notice of her "Hey, you're the girl from last night."

"Yep, finally happy to meet you in person!" Ruby placed her hands on her back "You should meet my te-"

"Fahrenheit." A girl behind Ruby called out

Clarity recognized the voice, Weiss Schnee. "Well well well…Hello, Schnee."

"It has been a while." Weiss hissed at the Blonde

"Yes…it has, missed you."

Weiss raised an eyebrow "Really? You've missed me?"

The Red Heiress placed her hands on her hips "Yes, I've missed showing you how better I was."

The Ice heiress gripped 'Myrtenaster' "Things have changed since our last meeting."

"Oh have they-"

"Hey-O everyone!" Yang walked to the group "This Atom's team?"

"Yep!" Atom stood next to Clarity "We should really go and get to the dorm, the sun is burnin and I don't wanna get sweat my aura off!"

Clarity stared at Weiss "Yes…we should get going." Atom's group walked towards the school. Weiss kept her sharp glare

"She's absolutely egregious…" Weiss spoke

"You two looked like you were about to fight it out" Yang chuckled "Would've been the first time you broke your proper and perfect attitude"

"Yeah, you really don't like her." Ruby frowned

But Weiss kept her deadly glare, still directed at Clarity with cold fury.

(Atom's Dorm)

"Wow, they really don't skimp with the rooms." Sylvia set her bag down next to a bed "This is some real fancy stuff."

Linda threw her bag at the corner and jumped onto a bed "Ahhh…god I love this bed right now, I'm hella exhausted."

Atom sat on his bed "Yeah, I bet you all are. Just relax for a bit, 'cause we gotta do the initiation here in like an hour."8

Clarity stretched her arms, sitting next to Atom. "Yeah, we'll be ready…but for now, you know what to do Atom" She subtly pointed at the door

"Oh! Yeah…" Atom stood back up and walked to the door "I'll give y'all your privacy"

"Please do" Sylvia started removing her poncho, showing her black and gold short sleeveless top, Atom walked out the room and closed the door behind him.

Linda sat up from the bed and started taking off her hoodie "Oof, finally." The faunus stretched her arms "Do we really gotta do the test today?"

"Yeah couldn't we take a day before?" Sylvia groaned

Clairty started to place her bag's contents in a drawer "Beacon is a Prestigious academy and it's gonna demand a lot from us, this is just the initiation. Imagine the actual school, they'll-."

"Alright alright, we get it, geez." Linda waved her off "So where's my bag I gotta change"

"In the red duffle bag over there" Sylvia pointed, she opened a small gun case and grabbed her Hand cannon's bullets, they were golden. Sylvia 's attention was caught by a doll sitting limp on Atom's bed. "Huh. He took the doll with him"

"Really?" Clarity turned to where Sylvia was looking, it was true. Atom had taken his doll with him "I thought he'd leave with his mom"

"It's a bit weird to be honest." Linda stared at the doll, it was limp. For it was a doll.

"A-anyways, what do you gals think of Atom's friends?" Sylvia asked

"That red one looks so adorable." Clarity grabbed her energy rifle and opened the battery "The yellow one…could use some clothing."

"Oh yeah, I could see those honkers from a mile away" Sylvia inspected her hand cannon, checking the drum "She's real basic"

The duo heard several metal pieces clamp together, they turned and saw Linda with her gauntlets on her arms. "I don't like that Weiss girl."

"Ugh, I know." Clarity groaned, the thought of even speaking to Weiss was egregious "Get used to it, she's still as annoying as the last time I met her"

Sylvia started load bullets into her revolver "Alright, so. What are they gonna test us with?"

"How should I know?" Linda stretched her arms "Doesn't Atom know?"

"We're being launched into the Emerald Forest!" The girls heard from the door, Atom leaned himself from the other side "That's what they told me"

"Huh." Linda smiled "That's kinda cool to be honest."

"Wait, launched?" Sylvia realized, what did 'Launched' mean? "Like how?"

"Maybe he meant like we're jumping off an Airship?" Linda wondered, she represented it with her hands "Like foosh, then we're going to kill everything nearby"

"Maybe."

"Probably like in Breakout Linda" Atom once again spoke from the door "You know, like the launch pad and Jeff sti-"

The door opened and Atom fell first first into the floor "…yeah like breakout"

"Come on, get up Atom" Linda grabbed the back of Atom's shirt and picked him up. "Are you ready for the Initiation?"

"Yes ma'am" Atom softly saluted

Clarity chuckled and rubbed Atom's head "Good boy"

(Emerald Forest Cliffside)

The four new potential students of Beacon were all standing horizontally before Ozpin, they were waiting for Ozpin to finish his sip of coffee.

Ozpin lowered his mug from his face, having a satisfied look "Heavens this coffee is good. Anyway students"

Ozpin walked towards the edge of the Cliffside "Today marks a great step to your career as a Huntsman, or Huntress, of Beacon academy."

"What you'll be doing now in order to enter the school will be this. " Ozpin took another sip of his coffee. It was Helios Coffee Beans. His favorite "At the end of this forest are little artifacts. Two are green and two are purple."

"You're mission is to go in and retrieve the artifacts. Now, the first person you make eye contact with will be your partner for the next four years you'll be staying here. Any questions?"

"Uh yeah, so what these things under us?" Linda asked, she lightly tapped the surface she was on

Glynda answered the question "That's how you're going in the forest. Make sure you have a landing strategy."

"Yeah, Linda's just gonna straight cannon ball through the forest when she lands." Atom chuckled, patting Linda

"Any more questions students?" Ozpin inquired

"No sir." The four unanimously spoke

"Show no mercy to the Grimm. Good luck students"

The students heard a small ticking noise right beneath them. It was the launch pads about to throw them into the forest. Atom smiled and turned to his friends "Alrighty-o, let's get this W"

The launch pads activated and shot the students straight over the Emerald forest. Atom stretched his arms apart and let the wind break over him, he saw his friends fly in different directions.

The wind was cold, not so cold that it froze, but not so warm that it was unbearable. It was just right, Atom took that time to spin around in air. He heard a soft melody in his head, it was serene, pure and had a 'warm feel' to it. Atom positioned himself facing back to the cliffside, he could see Team RWBY walking towards Ozpin and Glynda.

Atom placed himself back towards the forest and knew that immediately upon landing, Clarity, Sylvia and Linda would be looking for him, he gave a soft smile and clenched his fists. "Ignire O Creationis."

The teen exploded into a conglomerate of literal Atoms , they shredded through the tree line and splashed down to the grass. The pile of Atoms spewed across the floor, then started to place themselves back together.

Atom finally re-atomized himself and landed on his feet, he cocked his Rifle and took aim at the bushes. He saw a mildy large structure at the end of the forest, that's where Ozpin had indicated.

It was also where Atom was headed.

"So how are the new kids doing?" Yang asked, Ozpin's scroll had multiple screens on it, she could see that Clarity had already landed

"So far nothing of interest Team RWBY." Ozpin answered "Would you like to watch the student's initiation?"

Team RWBY nodded and were given the forest's camera feeds. They could see how each one of them were doing, Linda was currently beating an Ursa to death.

"Sheesh, I know I get angry but that's just something else" Yang saw Linda start to rip the Grimm's head off.

Weiss intently observed Clarity, always switching feeds that were looking at her. She was different from the last time they'd met, so she'd need to put her best to face her.

"You watching Clarity, Weiss?" Ruby peeked over

Weiss stared at Ruby "Yes. Yes I am."

"Sylvia's pretty quick with her revolver" Blake spoke in, she could see Sylvia doing flips over Beowolves, whilst shooting her revolver

"Hm…they all seem to be looking for Atom." Glynda noted" It would make sense as Atom isn't the greatest fighter amongst the team, they'd want to ensure he doesn't end up being hurt or fatally wounded"

"Hah, I wish Yang would've done that with me!" Ruby lightly punched Yang's arm

"Ah come on, I didn't do that and look who you end up with sis!" Yang returned the friendly hit, albeit a bit harder, knocking Ruby down

"They definitely are viciously looking for him." Blake spoke monotonously

Linda cut through bushes, she could smell Atom's scent. It was highly recognizable. He smelt of high quality perfume bought in a flea market, combined with the smell of fast food fries. Not unpleasant, quite nice actually, according to Linda.

"Where are you?"

The Faunus snapped towards a moving bush, she activated her gauntlets and readied herself for a fight. She was disappointed to see Sylvia emerge from the bushes. "You seen Atom?"

"He fell about a few hundred meters further. Clarity is closest to him" Sylvia moved several branches from her path

"I hope she finds him soon. I don't want anything to happen to him" Linda followed her now partner

"He'll be fine, he's a good runner. Oh hey guess we're partners now huh?" Sylvia realized

"Yep, looks like Atom's gonna get the Neon Reina for himself" Linda placed her hands behind her head "She's 100% shredding through Grimm trying to find Atom"

"Yep." Linda chuckled, one of her ears twitched, causing her to turn towards the source "Something's behind us."

The source leapt out of the bushes, it was a Beowulf, lunging at the two. Sylvia, in a blink of an eye, activated her Semblance and infused her hand cannon with fire and shot the beowulf, incinerating it. "Bullseye"
