A man wearing a red scarf and other men and women were standing beside the probe, a few meters away from the stargate, as they had been told by their visitors. They were watching, scared and impressed, the circle. Someone was dialing it. Suddenly, the kawoosh appeared, making the group jump. The people took a step backwards, except the man with the scarf. He was excited. Captain Bradley got out of the blue substance inside the circle seconds later, followed by SG1 and a very special guest.
Major General Jack O'Neill.
The group from Earth, dressed in black, with the general wearing a baseball cap of the same color, and holding P90s and backpacks, walked to the people standing next to the probe. Bradley was preceding her fellows.
The man with the red scarf greeted her with a broad smile when she was close enough to hear him, "Welcome back to Ender, Captain Bradley!"
"Thank you, Faron!" Bradley replied, with a grin as well.
SG1 stopped next to the captain. Faron looked at them. SG1 smiled.
Bradley spoke, pointing out the appropriate people, "Faron, I'd like to introduce you to my superior, General Jack O'Neill, and here are Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Doctor Daniel Jackson, Miss Vala Mal Doran, and Teal'c, from SG1. General, SG1, here is Faron."
O'Neill and SG1 said "Hello" and waved at Faron and his comrades, who were still a step behind him. O'Neill didn't say anything else, even a joke, as he would usually do.
Faron bowed to them, and declared, "On behalf of my people, it's a honor to welcome you to our planet."
Daniel took over, after bowing his head to Faron, "Thank you, Faron. We're honored that your people accept us to learn more about your history and customs, and work with you. We hope this will be the beginning of a long and deep future friendship between our people."
Faron bowed again, and informed, "Captain Bradley, the leaders of our province are looking forward to meeting your companions. We've arranged a house they can use during their stay. We'll also have a banquet this evening, in your honor."
"Sounds great, thank you, Faron!" Bradley said. "Doctor Jackson would also be interested in visiting the hill."
"Certainly. I'll show you around, Doctor Jackson."
"Thank you, Faron, I appreciate."
"You're welcome, doctor."
Faron invited his guests to follow him. The red scarf guy went ahead with Bradley and the two started a friendly conversation. The lady was at ease with the Enderer, as if she had known him for years. O'Neill and Teal'c walked behind them, in silence, contemplating the nature around them. Some Faron's comrades followed them. Mitchell, Mal Doran, and Jackson came behind, walking side by side, with the lady between the two men. The rest of Faron's fellows brought up the rear.
The colonel confessed, low, to Vala, "When you said you knew what could help General O'Neill, I didn't expect it would actually involve bringing him here."
"Don't worry, colonel, it's just for a day. Everything's going to be fine, he'll return to the SGC for his meetings with General Landry on time." Vala reassured, also low, looking proud of her idea.
Mitchell and Jackson glanced at each other, still not really sure if it was a good plan to bring Jack O'Neill to talk about trade, cultural, and technological agreements. Even O'Neill himself seemed not to know why he accepted the trip, as Cameron could tell, based on the general's attitude.
