It was a calm morning in the ballroom of Beacon Academy or at least it was a calm morning until...
"..Wake up lazy bud! It's morning it's morning it's morning!"sang a girl with blue eyes and orange hair to a guy with long black hair and violet eyes.
The girls attire consisted of a white top covered by armor, a pink skirt,white athletic shoes, and pink fingerless gloves.
The guys attire consisted of a green qi pao with noticeably long sleeves along with white pants, and dark shoes.
What the girl didn't know was that her little song more than just the guy she was singing it to as Jaune was awakened by this singing too from a
his sleeping bag.
"Man that girl sure has a lot of energy and did she and that guy sleep in there combat clothes?"asked Jaune as he noticed they were not wearing pajamas like the rest of the people barely getting up.
He was sure the guy was wearing his casual clothes when he went to bed but he wasn't so sure about the girl...
Jaune saw them again at breakfast where she was talking to the same guy as he was trying to eat pancakes while she had a bunch of pancakes stuffed in her mouth.
'How does someone talk and eat so much at the same time and not choke?' thought Jaune as he felt sorry for the guy as he looked like he was just trying to eat.

A while later at the locker rooms Jaune was looking for his locker as he was sure the locker number he was given 636 was not the locker that had Wado Ichimonji and Emna as he would have remembered having to count that high...
As he was looking for a locker 636 he noticed the same guy and girl from earlier and managed over here some of their conversation involving Sloth's? Being together but not being together together? And something about a.. signal?
Jaune decided to ignore it for now as it really wasn't his business.
As he was passing through the locker rooms he ran into Ruby and yang but they didn't appear to notice him as they were appearing to have a conversation about Ruby being on another team and Ruby asking her sister if she didn't want to be on the same team with her while for some reason Ruby was holding Crescent Rose like a baby?
Jaune decided it was best to stay out of that conversation as he learned a long time ago that guys will never get girls... no matter how hard they try...
Jaune then noticed Weiss talking to some redhead that was fully covered head to toe and armor and based on all appearances the redhead was not comfortable talking with the stuck up heiress...
"So Pyrrah have you given any thought on whose team you want to be on?"asked Weiss identifying the girl's name as Pyrrah.
"I sure everyone must be eager to join up with a strong well-known individual such as yourself."
'Is she famous or something?' thought Jaune who really didn't know anything about celebrities as he hardly read the tab lights or watch the news.
The only time he ever did see the news was for important events.
"Hmm... I'm not quite sure, I was planning to let the chips fall where they may."replied Pyrrah meanwhile to Weiss's statements.
"Well I was thinking we could be on a team together."said Weiss in a innocent tone.
"Well that sounds grand."said Pyrrah although Jaune could tell from her facial expression that she was thinking an entirely different thing.
Weiss meanwhile turned around and started doing a sinister smile.
'I knew it! You just want that girl on your team for your skill and don't care about her as a friend at all...' thought Jaune who decided to step in before things got out of control.
Plus he actually kind of like messing with Weiss at this point as raining on her parade was the most funniest had so far.
'This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now will be popular, we'll be celebrities, we'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!' thought Weiss with a cocky and sinister smile not noticing that someone was about to rain on her parade.
News flash it was Jaune!
"You know even if you turn around your body language alone tells us what you're really thinking right?"said Jaune as he literally got in between Pyrrah and Weiss.
"Oh not you again!"said Weiss as she's not out of her thoughts to see the boy who has been nothing but rude to her ever since she got here.
"Yeah you think I'm the rude one... good luck with that."said Jaune as Weiss was wondering if he was a mind reader.
"So what's the story with you."said Jaune as he turned around to face Pyrrah.
"What do you mean?"asked Pyrrah as she didn't understand the question.
"I mean why are you putting up with the spoiled brat."said Jaune as he pointed his thumb to the spoiled brat in question.
"Hey!"said Weiss who was highly offended.
"Something tells me you're too nice for your own good sometimes."said Jaune causing Pyrrah to start chuckling nervously.
"...Yeah.."
"Jaune was it?"asked Weiss as Jaune rolled his eyes.
"Yeah that's my name don't wear it out."replied Jaune as he copied the line of a famous cartoon character he just couldn't remember the name of at this moment.
"Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"asked Weiss as she pointed at Pyrrah.
"I have absolutely no idea."said Jaune honestly as he had no reason to lie.
"This is Pyrrah."
"Hello again."said Pyrrah waving at Jaune trying to be nice.
"Pyrrah graduated at the top of her class at Sanctum."said Weiss like it was the most obvious thing on the planet.
"I've never heard of it."said Jaune who had no interest for such things.
Weiss scoffed before continuing.
"She's when the Mistral regional tournament four years in a row, a new record."
"And..."said Jaune bluntly as his body language was saying why should he care at all...
He also noticed that Pyrrah was actually happy that he seem never to have heard of her for some reason?
Weiss meanwhile was getting infuriated at this point!
"She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's marshmallow flakes box!"exclaimed Weiss as she waved her arms around in frustration.
"I never ate that stuff since it's really bad for you."said Jaune whose diet mainly consisted of non-sugary foods and natural sugar beverages and water.
"I agree although it was cool to be on the front of a cereal box but you're right when you said the cereal is not very good for you."said Pyrrah with a smile on her face.
"So Pyrrah since this princess is so insistent on being on your team what do you say me you and me be on a team. I can tell that you're quite skilled and I figure I need strong people on my team. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a pretty face."said Jaune causing Pyrrah to blush a little.
"Okay for the last time stop calling me princess I have a name and it's Weiss!"yelled Weiss in frustration.
"Stop acting like a brat and you will be stop being treated like a brat."said Jaune as he got in Weiss's face
"Okay you're really standing too close for comfort Pyrrah a little help."said Weiss as Jaune instinctually got out of the way just before a spear was about to to impel him and his trench coat into the wall.
"FYI as a part of my training I actually practiced swordsmanship blindfolded so my hearing would be as good as a Zatoichi, or the blind swordsman."said Jaune as Weiss looked at him with shock.
He actually dodged an attack from the famous Pyrrah Niko's?! Who was this Jaune and how come she's never heard about him until now?!
"Pyrrah please don't spoil this brat?"asked Jaune as Pyrrah as she pulled out her spear from the wall.
"I'm sorry and it was nice meeting you."said Pyrrah as the announcements came on said it was time for the initiation and that all students needed to report immediately.
Weiss and Pyrrah left immediately but not before Weiss and Jaune shot each other the stink eye one last time.
"Man you really don't like her."said Yang as she Ruby approached him.
"No I honestly don't have any reason not to like her or hate her. If she stops acting like a spoiled brat maybe me and her could be good friends."said Jaune who meant when he said when he said that if she stopped acting like a brat he would stop treating her like a brat.
"Wow Jaune I can't believe you dodged Pyrrah's spear so easily."said Ruby was honestly impressed.
"No it wasn't easy at all as I barely avoided getting stuck to the wall by my coat. She good and she knows it... so why does that make her so sad...?"said Jaune to himself with a final part under his breath so his friends wouldn't hear him.
"Well let's get to the cliff for initiation."said Yang as the group walked out of the locker rooms after Jaune finally managed to find locker 636 and acquire his swords again.
Jaune also pack something else as he had a feeling he was going to need it..

A short while later Jaune and the other first years were standing near a cliff that led directly into the forest known as the Emerald Forest and for some reason the professor's made him and the others stand on what look like a metal pad.
"For years you have trained to become warriors and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."said Ozpin.
"Now I'm sure many of you have heard the rumors on the assignment of teams. Well allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be giving teammates... today!"said Professor Goodwitch adding emphasis to the final part of her sentence.
"What?!"said Ruby with dread.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone you can work well."added Ozpin causing Ruby to groan.
"That being said. The first person you make eye contact with after you landed will be your partner for the next four years."said Ozpin causing Ruby's world to shatter.
"What?!"
"See I told you."said the orange haired girl to her friend.
"After you partnered up make your way to the northern end of the forest. You we'll meet opposition along the wa.. do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path.. or you will die."said Ozpin grimly causing many to become nervous.
"You will be monitored and graded but the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned Temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. You will guard that item as well as your standing and you will be great appropriately... are there any questions?"asked Ozpin after he finished giving the instructions.
"Um yeah I heard a rumor about Free falling."said Jaune but it was clear to him that the Headmaster was not listening.
"You all have to come up with your own landing strategy."said Ozpin as one by one first year students were launched into the air.
Soon Jaune understood that the rumors were indeed true and glad that he packed his secret weapon.
"Yeah I heard rumors that you do this every year so..."said Jaune a he himself was launched.
"I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO BUY AND BRING A PARACHUTE BEFOREHAND!"Yelled Jaune as he was launched into the air revealing that he had a parachute backpack in his left hand.
Ozpin took a sip of his coffee before saying something.
"Well now... that was unexpected."said Ozpin as you never expected someone to be prepared for his initiation like that before.
Meanwhile once Jaune was starting to near the ground he put on his parachute and quickly pulled both cords releasing his parachute and his emergency parachute.
"I'm really glad I read those online forums about the rumors of the initiation into Beacon before I came here!"said Jaune before his parachute out of nowhere was stabbed by a familiar looking spear.
"PYRRAH!"yelled Jaune as he and his parachute were stuck to a tree.
"I'M SORRY."said Pyrrah from a fair distance away.
"She must have thought I was following before I use my parachute so she threw her spirit to save me... I guess it shouldn't be mad at her if she had the best intentions."said Jaune.

Meanwhile Ruby was running through the forest trying to think of who she should pick as a partner when she made eye contact with them.
'Okay I can't find Yang so who should I pick as my partner. Well there's Jaune, me and him seem to get along but I don't know much about his skills. Then there's Blake she seems cool but I don't think me and her will have a lot to talk about. Okay there's Yang, Jaune, and Blake... there's also.' thought Ruby before she ran into wife as the first person she made eye contact with.
The to look at each other with a look of confusion before wife began walking away.
"Wait where are you going?! We I supposed to be teammates..."said Ruby as she kicked the ground a little in frustration.
Weiss meanwhile was making her way through the forest trying to find anyone else as a partner than the annoying girl known as Ruby Rose she had unfortunately ran into when she got here.
"Oh no keep walking I rather have anyone else as a partner than you!"said Jaune whose parachute was currently tangled up and some tree branches.
Weiss said nothing as she walked back towards Ruby and pulled her by her hood.
"By no means does this make us friends.."said Weiss.
"You came back!"exclaimed Ruby with joy.
"Phew... I really thought I was going to be stuck with that crabby girl for the next four years at Beacon. She reminds me all too much of a certain person from my previous life."said Jaune as he was not fond of that person and didn't think much of them.
"Jaune!"said Pyrrah as Jaune look down to see the champion looking at him from the ground floor.
"I guess that means we're partners."said Jaune with a grin on his face.
"Yeah."said Pyrrah as she begun to help Jaune get down.
"So according to that moss over there North is... that way."said Jaune as he knew Moss always grows on the north side of a tree.
"Good observation let's get moving."said Pyrrah as Jaune followed her close behind as they made their way to the northern end of the forest.
Jaune wanted to see for himself what she was capable of.
After all she was sure Ruby and Weiss... are probably fine..
Meanwhile Weiss was surrounded by a pack of Grimm known as Beowolves with Ruby nowhere in sight!
