Chapter 3When Ghost Spider got there she saw that there was someone hiding under the table.
"I know someone's hiding in this room. Just relax I didn't come here to hurt you, I'm not the bad guy here. Come out".
"Please don't hurt me", the woman emerged from under the table with her hands up.
Suddenly there was a loud clatter of tables being rummaged in the other room.
"Stay.Right.Here", She ordered the woman. She obeyed out of fear.
Ghost Spider went to check out the situation. "I got you this time and I'm bringing you to justice", she whispered to herself.
Six months ago Ghost Spider discovered a dimension that was different from hers. For one the city she landed on didn't exist in her world and the heroes of this Earth were brand new to her. They looked nothing like the ones from every other dimension. She decided to live here for the time being. She let the symbiote (the substance her suit is made of) to form into her civilian clothes.Thanks to her friend Peter Parker and her dad, she was able to apply to Burnside College. It wasn't until a few days before she met Batgirl that she discovered a villain was planning to use a mind control device on the people of Burnside but she was framed making the police think she was behind the robbery. She had the idea of getting to the object the villain was after before she got it first. That way Mania would be backed into a corner and she'd have no choice but to expose herself. But her job is getting a lot harder now that she got off on the wrong foot with Burnside's residential hero. Now her new problem is trying to avoid Batgirl while trying to catch the actual villain.
Just as she suspected, her villain was searching the place. No doubt looking for one of the last components.
"Y'know if you're breaking and entering the first thing you should do is cover your tracks Mania", The alien creature wasn't surprised to see Ghost Spider at all by the looks of it.
"Ghost Spider, how nice of you to join us. You are one of us why don't you join us? We can make this world a better place for our kind", Mania offered.
"You don't belong here, you need to go back to the dimension you came from and if I have to beat you up to do it I will".
"So be it".
Mania lunged at the spider-themed vigilante who moved out of the way just in time. Ghost Spider started changing from Ghost Spider to a symbiote monster like Mania.
"Time to end your ways of evil", she said in a deep monster voice.
Then the innocent woman from the other screamed at what she just saw. Horrified at the two monsters before her, she ran for her life.
"Until we meet again..." Mania escaped through a teleportation device before Gwenom could catch her with her webs.
"Guess it's time for me to go before the cops show–Nughhh!"
"Your not going anywhere Ghosty!" Batgirl punched her, appearing from the roof. "You're going to explain everything that just went down and who that thing was that you were fighting and what you are exactly, now!"
"Wait you heard everything?!"
"What, you thought I didn't know where you were headed? Who do you think trained me!"
"Ugh...I don't know! Some vampire ninja?"
"You're joking right?"
"I don't live here sweetie".
"Enough! Explain. Now", Batgirl ordered.
Ghost Spider changed back to her normal vigilante look, sighed then gave in.
"That was Mania, an alien symbiote who has evil intentions of doing the things she does. She's planning something and her host, Janet Brock is part of it. Mania framed me for a crime I didn't commit. I'm innocent I swear!"
Batgirl didn't look like she trusted her. "Is that what you are as well? An alien parasite?"
"No! I'm a person controlling this symbiote. It was created in a lab so I could continue being a hero in my dimension, I'm nothing like her".
Batgirl looked unconvinced. "Do you even have proof that you're not lying to me?"
Ghost Spider's suit started from from her wrist. It revealed a bracelet with a spider pendant on it. "I travel between dimensions and keep them in check with this. It's part of my job as a superhero".
Batgirl just stared at her and there was silence for ten seconds.
"Alright, I'll help you", Batgirl decided. "Although I don't fully trust you, I believe the mission always comes first".
"I guess we're teammates", Ghost Spider gleefully shot out the finger gun sign.
"We're not there yet Spidey. Meet me by the the water reserve tomorrow night okay?"
"You got it Batgirl!" Ghost Spider shot out a string of web and jumped out the window.
Batgirl wasn't all aboard this new partnership but it was only temporary she didn't like that Ghost Spider had a criminal record but she was her only lead.
