I am pleasantly surprised at the reception this fics been getting in such short time! And a lot of you are real fans of the fluffy sibling moments, and don't worry there's gonna be plenty of those.
And make sure you don't skip this one as it introduces two rather important characters.
Hope you all enjoy!
"H-Hey…s-stop it Kacchan you're hurting him!" The sun shined brightly on a playground in Japan where some conflict was going on between a group of children. One child was on the ground looking beat up with three children in front of him. One of these kids happened to be none other than a four-year-old Katsuki Bakugo and behind him were two of his lackey's, a kid with devil-like wings and a kid with extending fingers.
There was one more kid there, trying his best to stand up to Katsuki and the other kids was none other than Izuku Midoriya. The green haired kid had tears of fear in his eyes as he tried to raise up his fist against the friend turned bully but couldn't stop his body from shaking. After all…he had no quirk to use.
But Bakugo did in fact have a quirk and showed it off by punching his fist into his open palm, causing a small explosion to go off. "Oh really? And what are you gonna do about it Deku?" Bakugo cockily said, calling Izuku by the demeaning name he had given him months prior to this. After it was revealed to the class that Izuku was quirkless, Bakugo truly believed that this nickname fit Izuku to a tee and pretty much got nearly the whole class to start calling him Deku. "Ya gonna pretend to be a hero or something? You don't stand a chance without a quirk!"
And with that Izuku flinched and recoiled in fear as Bakugo and his lackeys lunged at him, ready to give the quirkless kid punishment for trying to act like a hero. Izuku shut his eyes tightly, ready for the beating he's received before…but it never came. Despite the fear, Izuku dared to open his eyes to see why Bakugo and the other kids weren't trashing him yet.
Izuku's eyes widened as he saw Bakugo and his lackeys stuck in place in the air, a familiar green aura covering them. "H-Hey!" Bakugo yelled in frustration as he struggled to move but couldn't even wiggle his fingers which just served to piss him off more. "WHAT'S GOING ON?! WHOEVERS DOING THIS BETTER STOP IT RIGHT NOW!"
"U-Uh…" Izuku stuttered as he backed away a bit, the kid that Bakugo was previously beating up quickly running away as Izuku bumped into something. Turning around, Izuku looked up and saw his biggest sister Tatsumaki using her psychic powers to keep the mean kids at bay. Not expecting her to be here, Izuku quickly clung onto her leg and gently cried into it. "Tatsu!"
Putting away her glare, Tatsumaki put on a worried look and quickly went to hug her little brother while still having Bakugo and his lackeys stuck. "Are you ok Izuku?!" Tatsumaki yelled out in concern as she quickly went about checking his body for any sort of injuries. "Those little brats didn't hurt you right?"
"N-No, I'm fine…" Izuku quietly told his sister as she sighed in relief and brought him in for another hug. "What are you doing here?"
"I had some time off and thought I'd come visit my favorite little brother," Tatsumaki gave him a small smile and pinched his cheeks, drawing a tiny giggle from her little brother. Tatsumaki then put her glare back on as she looked at the kids she had trapped in her powers. Raising up a finger, all three kids screamed as Tatsumaki all gave them a painful psychic weggie, stretching their underwear out greatly and then proceeded to hang them on a tree by their underwear, finally letting them go. "Hang around for a while."
"YOU HAG!" Bakugo yelled as he struggled to try and free himself. "LET US DOWN!"
"What for? I'm just a hero doing her job of humiliating villains," Tatsumaki told Bakugo with a glare before sticking her tongue out at him. This served to really make the bratty Bakugo rage even more and scream as loud as he could as small explosions went off in his hands. "Wait for your bitch of a mother to get you down,"
And with that, Tatsumaki picked up Izuku and held him close before she started to float off with him in tow, "I'm sorry…" Izuku apologized as he buried his face into her chest. "I just…I just wanted to be a hero…"
Tatsumaki frowned sadly a bit and softly put her hand on Izuku's back as she remembered when she heard the news…
MONTHS AGO
Tatsumaki had been on a roll to say the least. She was already a rare case with getting her own agency as soon as she graduated UA, as most graduates started out as sidekicks and sometimes even stayed that way through out their careers. But Tatsumaki showed to be an immense cut above the rest. Not only had she gotten her own agency at the start, but she's been raising and raising in the ranks at an incredible rate. Currently she was hero number 23 in all of Japan.
And right now she was showing just why she was one of the highest ranking heroes in the country as she was currently handling a whole situation by herself that would normally take a whole team of heroes to have a chance. Currently a group of villains had managed to arm themselves to the teeth with various weapons and even had a villain with a gigantification quirk on the roof who was threatening to the take down the entire building unless their demands were met.
It seemed like they would've gotten what they wanted…until Tatsumaki showed up. When the psychic girl arrived at the situation, she looked over the scene and simply yawned and muttered something about the other heroes at the scene being useless and then got to work. She used her psychic powers to disarm and destroy all the weapons the villains had.
Right as the giant villain was about to leap at Tatsumaki, the Tornado of Terror simply rolled her eyes and caught him effortlessly in her psychic powers. "To think they were struggling with you losers," Tatsumaki groaned out, glaring at the giant villain she had in her grasp, the villain not being able to do anything to break out. "I swear I'm one of the only competent heroes here."
She then used more of her powers to grab the villains around the building and dragged the ones inside the building out, setting them up so the police could make an easy arrest. "Don't think you've won!" One of the villains yelled as he struggled against the psychic grip. "We still got back up on the other side of the city! You can't take us all down at once!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, you haven't seen the last of us, blah-blah-blah, we'll return for revenge, blah-blah-blah, how about doing me a favor by shutting up so I don't have to hear your annoying voices." Tatsumaki told the villains in a snarky tone before she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket. Taking it out, Tatsumaki proceeded to answer it while keeping her hold on all the villains. "Yeah who is it?"
"Tatsumaki, it's your mother," Tatsumaki smiled at hearing Inko's voice, Inko being one of three people Tatsumaki wouldn't mind getting a call from at any point whether she was working or not. "Are you busy?"
"Nah, just got some useless villains trapped while some equally useless heroes and sidekicks are standing around not doing their jobs," Tatsumaki casually answered, the villains gaining tick marks at her remarks. Even some of the heroes that could hear her glared at the bratty hero. Tatsumaki rose a brow as she finally noticed the tone in her mothers voice, she seemed…distraught. "Is everything ok? Did your favorite soap opera get cancelled or something?"
"Stop ignoring us!" One of the villains yelled before Tatsumaki psychokinetically sealed his lips shut.
"W-What? N-No, no, nothing like that." Tatsumaki chuckled a bit at her mother's embarrassed tone. "It's…It's about Izuku…"
Tatsumaki's amusement immediately ceased as she heard this. This was clearly something bad involving Izuku and Tatsumaki quickly got to questioning. "What? What about Izuku?" Tatsumaki asked with her voice full of worry. "Did something happen to him? Oh I swear if it's because of that Baku-brat again I'm gonna fling him and his family right into space!"
"Sweetie please, just calm down." Inko said gently to try and get her oldest daughter to calm down, the last thing that was needed right now was tension. "It's...It's something else. Izuku's quirk hasn't been showing up and so we took him to a quirk doctor and…well…"
"What? What is it already?" Tatsumaki was already getting impatient and more worried and needed an answer.
"They diagnosed him as….quirkless." Tatsumaki froze in midair. Her eyes widened and her grip on her phone tightened to keep her from dropping in it shock. She was silent for a good moment as she tried to process what she heard. Her brother, the one who admired heroes with a passion and wanted nothing more than to be one when he grew up…..was quirkless. "T-Tatsumaki? Are you still there?"
"I'll be there soon…" That was all Tatsumaki said before lowering the phone away from her ear.
"Tatsumaki wa-" Inko didn't get to finish her sentence as Tatsumaki hung up on her and put the phone back in her pocket.
As Tatsumaki gritted her teeth, her psychic powers exploded. The green aura around her grew immensely with power. The building the villains tried to take over, as well as some nearby buildings, found all their windows cracking due to her aura and even the ground far below her started to shake a little bit. "Here's what's going to happen…" Tatsumaki growled with pure venom in her voice. Suddenly all the villains felt themselves being crushed all over, just on the brink of their bones breaking and they surely would have if even a bit more force was added onto them. "I'm gonna put you all on the ground. You're all gonna get arrested and sent to jail. And you're not gonna do anything to try and break yourselves out. Or else I'll find each and everyone of you, and crush you into nothingness with a meteor!" Tatsumaki then turned around and gave each villain an intense look that, if looks could kill, she could wipe out all of Japan. "Do. I. Make. Myself. CLEAR?!"
All the villains quickly nodded their heads, feeling nothing but pure fear over the 4 foot 8 girl. Tatsumaki then sent them down to the ground with enough force to knock them out.
As soon as the villains were not a problem with her, she sped in the direction of her family's home with enough speed to create a sonic boom.
In less than a minute, Tatsumaki found herself at the apartment building she used to call home. Floating up to the door, Tatsumaki immediately started pounding on it, not letting up until it was opened by her mother. "Tatsumaki, please try and keep it together," Inko told her daughter as soon as the mother opened the door, knowing that Tatsumaki would be there. "This is a hard time for all of us…"
"Where is he?" Tatsumaki wasted no time in asking as she made her away into her old apartment, not noticing the bags under Inko eyes and how they were puffy and red from crying. "Where's my brother?"
"He's in his room with Fubuki," Inko told Tatsumaki as she wiped her eyes as she felt more tears coming. "Please…Izuku couldn't sleep at all last night, Fubuki's been with him since the news broke out…be gentle…"
Tatsumaki felt her breathing slow down as she looked at her heartbroken expression. Tatsumaki took a deep breath to calm herself down and nodded. "Alright…" Now not acting irrationally, Tatsumaki started walking towards Izuku's room. Before she opened the door, Tatsumaki winced as she heard her little brother crying in there.
"Izuku…" Tatsumaki muttered as she opened the door and found a sight that broke her heart. Izuku clinging tightly to her younger sister as Fubuki held him close. Fubuki's shirt stained with tears and the girl have tears running down her eyes as well. Fubuki said nothing as she looked up at her sister and embraced Izuku more, Fubuki's eyes full of sadness and grief.
Tatsumaki wasted no time in quickly joining the hug, wanting to comfort and hold her brother close.
Tatsumaki pulled Izuku close to her as she recalled the memory, easily being the darkest moment in their family's life. "I promise Izuku…" Tatsumaki reassured her little brother. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
With that, Tatsumaki floated the two home for some well deserved rest.
THREE YEARS LATER
"Come on, why hasn't it come yet…" Currently, a 15-year-old Fubuki was pacing back and forth in the living room of the apartment, anxiety coursing through her right now as she waited and waited for the mail to hopefully come. Currently the middle child of the Midoriya family was waiting for what was easily the most important letter of her life, similar to a letter her older sister received when she was Fubuki's age.
Her acceptance letter into UA.
"Just try and calm down sweetie," Inko told her daughter with a small smile on her face as she got two cups of tea as well as a slice of cake she took out of the fridge. "From what you told me you scored really high in the entrance exam, you really should have nothing to worry about."
"Yeah I guess…" Despite her mother's reassurance Fubuki was still worried about the whole thing. While she was certainly strong, at least she liked to think she was, but she was nowhere near as strong as her sister Tatsumaki. In fact Tatsumaki's score was the 2nd highest when it came to the practical exam, the only score beating her out being from the number one hero himself All Might. And the reason she scored this high showed as she was currently the number 3 hero in all of Japan. But before Fubuki could focus her mind on that more, she noticed her mother about to indulge herself in some cake and quickly snatched it away from her. "Mom, what did we talk about?"
"…Cake is a sometimes food…" Inko muttered in shame as Fubuki sighed and put the cake back in the fridge. "Sorry…"
"Mom, I know things have been…stressful since then," Fubuki said in a sad tone, knowing very well this behavior with her mother started when it was revealed that her son and Fubuki's brother was quirkless. Inko has been constantly blaming herself for this, and especially for making it worse with her choice of words at the time when Izuku asked if there was any chance he could still be a hero, and started stress eating. Well, tried was the more appropriate word as Fubuki started to keep taps on Inko and her eating habits since it first started so that way her mother didn't ruin her figure. "But this isn't a healthy way to deal with it."
"I…I know I just…" Inko wiped away some incoming tears as thoughts of the many sleepless nights her son had over the years came into her mind as well as all the times he'd come home with cuts, bruises, and burn marks. "Seeing Izuku give a genuine smile is becoming rarer and rarer and-"
Inko was cut off before bursting into tears as Fubuki quickly hugged and comforted her mother. "I know…I know…I…I hate it too," Fubuki said sadly as her mother hugged her tightly, Inko gently crying into Fubuki's shoulder. "But…we just have to find a way to deal with it and just hope and see what the future holds. That's all we can do,"
"I just…I wish I could do something." Inko quietly muttered into her daughter's shoulder. Before Inko or Fubuki could say anything more, they heard a soft knocking at the door and both looked in the direction of it. "Who could that be."
Both mother and daughter looked towards the door and saw mail falling the floor from the mail slot making Fubuki lightly gasp. "Mails here!" Fubuki quickly fell to the floor, in a rather comedic fashion, and hastily picked up all the letters. "Ok, ok, please be here. Bill, bill, junk mail, bill, Izuku's report card probably has all A's again. Aw man!" Fubuki groaned that her UA acceptance letter hasn't come yet. In desperation, Fubuki flipped open the mail slot and peaked an eye out at the mailman outside. "Come on you don't have anything else?"
"Um, nope I don't believe so…" The mailman said as he checked his bag just to make sure. His eyes widened as he did in fact find something and pulled it out. "Oh wait, got one more thing. Sorry about that,"
"Thank you!" Fubuki said as she took the letter as the mailman slid it through the slot. Taking a deep breath, Fubuki looked at it and hoped it would be the letter she was waiting for. "Please, please, please…" Peaking her eyes open, Fubuki saw where the letter was from…
U.A.
"Oh my gosh…" Fubuki started to breathe a little heavily as she stood up and showed it to her mother. "It's here! Mom it's here!"
Inko gasped as she looked at the letter and couldn't help but smile a bit. "You should check it right now," The mother said with Fubuki making a face that said 'are you sure' but Inko simply nodded. "Don't worry, you've waited so long for this you shouldn't have to wait any longer."
"Alright…thanks mom!" Giving her mother a quick hug, Fubuki dashed towards her room and immediately sat down at her desk and placed down the letter. Taking out a letter opener, the 15-year-old opened it up and pulled out some sort of disk. "What's this?"
"Why hello there Miss Fubuki Midoriya." Fubuki shrieked in fright as the disk suddenly turned on, causing her to drop it. Luckily it landed perfectly flat on the desk allowing Fubuki to get a clear look that the disk was some kind of projector and was projecting a pre-recorded video of the principle of UA, Nezu. "We're sorry about the long wait, but consider how many applicates we have it can take some time to record all our answers."
Fubuki nodded as she crossed her fingers and lightly bit her lip in anticipation.
"Now first up the written test," Fubuki saw Nezu pick up a clipboard, likely containing the results for both her exams. "Well I am very pleased to tell you that you did exceptional on this part of the exam, in fact your score was better than your sister's was when she took the exam."
"Yes!" Pumped up her fist with a grin. Normally she hates it when people compare her to her sister, but when it comes to something she did do better than her sister at she didn't mind so much.
"Now as for the practical exam…" This was it, her position in UA depended on whether or not she did well enough on this part of the exam. "I am delighted to tell you that with your even mix of both villain and hero points, you scored rather high on this part of the exam yourself." Fubuki gasped as the screen changed to show the scoreboard for the practical exam, specifically the top 10. She needed to get top 40 to pass…and she got 2nd place.
"I…I did it…" Fubuki said with silent amazement as she covered her mouth with one hand.
"I'm looking forward to seeing you in class Young Midoriya." Nezu said with a smile as he set down his clipboard. "Welcome to UA."
"I…I did it!" Fubuki soon felt a goofy grin come to her face as she stood up in excitement and rose up her hands. "I got into UA!"
"You got in?" Fubuki immediately tensed up and the grin left her face as she heard an all too familiar voice speak up from her door. Looking back, she saw her seven-year-old brother standing at her door frame, likely having heard everything. Izuku smiled up at his sister, but Fubuki could see that it was a sad smile. "Good job, I knew you could do it."
"Oh, uh t-thanks Izuku," Fubuki stuttered a tiny bit as she grabbed the projector and looked at him, knowing that a part of Izuku was a bit upset, thinking he won't get to follow in Tatsumaki and now her footsteps with going to UA. "But…ya know it's really not that big of a deal."
"Don't say that, UA is a really hard school to get into. You should be proud of yourself," Izuku told her as he turned away, Fubuki frowning as she caught sight of him using the arm she couldn't see quite well to wipe away some incoming tears. "I'm just gonna…go in my room."
"Izuku wait…" Fubuki tried to call out for her brother, but she quickly heard the door to Izuku's room open and close. Sighing, Fubuki looked down at the projector sadly. "Why does life have to be so shitty sometimes…"
THREE YEARS LATER
So just like her older sister, Fubuki spent the next three years studying how to be a hero at the best hero school in Japan, UA. She did do well in both her academics and hero classes, but she could have gone without the teachers and some of the students constantly comparing her to her sister. Especially since it was mostly stuff like how she wasn't as strong as her sister. So that was one irritating part of UA life. But she managed to graduate and soon found herself in a familiar scenario…
"Heh, talk about Déjà vu…" Fubuki sighed out sadly as she finished packing up her suitcase. Just like Tatsumaki before her, the now 18-year-old Fubuki found her time to move out of her family's apartment. Similar to her sister she was one of the special graduates that got her own agency as soon as she graduated. This of course meant it was time she head off on her own. "Guess it had to happen sooner or later,"
With the suitcase packed, Fubuki went off and out of the room she called her own for the last 18-years of her life. Before she opened the door, she turned around and gave it one last look, "I'm really gonna miss this place," She muttered to herself before finally telling herself that she was ready for the next step of her life. As soon as she exited the room, she saw her mother and little brother outside looking at her. Inko had teary eyes full of pride and a sad smile, and Izuku's eyes were shadowed by his hair and his lips formed a sad frown. "Guess it's time for me to leave…"
"Guess so," Inko quietly said before she pulled her daughter into a hug. As she cried softly, Inko let out a little chuckle. "You think after Tatsumaki I would have been ready for this…"
"Hehe, I know how you feel," Fubuki smiled a bit as she happily squeezed the woman that brought her into this world and cared for her for the last 18-years. "Thank you so much for everything."
"Heh, I should be thanking you for helping me maintain my figure," Thankfully, with Fubuki's help, Inko was able to get her stress eating under control. Granted there were some moments where Inko couldn't help herself, but Fubuki kept an eye on her mother and the only damage was Inko getting a little bit chubby. "But just remember this will always be your home, you're always welcome here."
"Thanks mom, I promise to visit and call whenever I can," With the goodbyes with her mother finished, Fubuki moved onto her brother and felt her sadness for leaving only intensify, especially after seeing his face. The years…haven't been especially kind to Izuku. The world just kept trying to push him down just because of how he was born, especially Bakugo who just kept kicking and kicking Izuku even when he was already down and was the main reason Izuku often came home looking beat up. There were days where Izuku would escape into his room and not come out for anything, even to eat. Got to a point where Fubuki had to psychokinetically pry his door open due to him not answering when they knocked. Thankfully he was just sleeping and…not something else.
Wiping away those kind of thoughts from her head, Fubuki wrapped Izuku into a tight hug. "You're gonna make a great hero…" Fubuki couldn't help but chuckle sadly. Leave it to Izuku to say things like that to her despite how he's feeling right now about her leaving. "I'll miss you,"
"I'll miss you too, so, so much," Fubuki whispered into his ear as she held him tighter. "If you need anything, you can always call me. I'll never be too busy for you,"
"Ok," That was all Izuku's response was as he lightly nodded his head. Giving each other one last squeeze, the two then separated from their hug, "Bye sis…"
"Bye little brother," Fubuki told him before giving Inko one last hug. With her goodbyes made, Fubuki made her way to the door of the apartment and gripped her suitcase. Turning around, Fubuki gave a sad smile to her mother and brother and waved them goodbye. Inko wiped away some tears and returned the wave with Izuku doing the same. And with that, Fubuki exited her now old home. As she floated off to her car, Fubuki took a deep breath and muttered to herself. "He'll be ok…he's gotta be ok…"
TWO YEARS LATER
"Alright Izuku we're here," Inko told her son as she pulled up to a building she's come to known all too well. The sign above the entrance of the building labeled it as the "Tornado of Terror Agency" Izuku smiled as he saw the agency of his oldest sister and stepped out of the car while carrying a small bag of his stuff. "Alright I'll come and get you Sunday afternoon, have fun with your sister."
"I will, thanks mom," Izuku smiled at his mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek before she drove away. Despite the years and people that have been hard on him, Izuku did his best to keep smiling and pushing forward just like his 2nd favorite hero All Might, his favorite heroes of course being his sisters, the Tornado of Terror and Blizzard of Hell. Over the years he's even started a series of journals recording various heroes and quirks containing stuff like advantages, disadvantages, and fighting styles. Currently he had journal number 11 in his bag.
"Izuku!" Before Izuku could walk towards the building, he found himself covered in a familiar green aura and dragged forward towards the building. Izuku didn't resist or scream at all as he was used to this happening to him more than a few times. Soon he found himself dragged right into his sister's agency and then right into the arms of his oldest sister as the Tornado of Terror hugged her brother tightly. "You made it!"
"Hehe, of course I did," Izuku smiled and hugged his sister back, a few other people in the room be they simple workers or some of Tatsumaki's sidekicks found themselves smiling at the sight. Most of them knew about Izuku and saw him during his visits and always found it nice when Tatsumaki acted all sweet around him. Especially since normally with pretty much everyone else including them she acted like her normal moody, hotheaded, and disrespectful self. "You know I wouldn't miss the chance to visit you or Fubuki."
"So you've been doing ok right? That Bakago leaving you alone right?" Izuku sweat drop at both Tatsumaki's little 'nickname' for Bakugo as well as how she checked up on him for any sort of injuries he may have. Nothing new, but still not any less embarrassing no matter how much it happens, especially when he heard some of the others in the room giggling. "I swear if he's still picking on you I'm gonna flatten his whole house!"
"T-Tatsu I'm fine really. Kacchan hasn't…he hasn't been bothering me lately." Izuku really hoped Tatsumaki would buy his lie because in truth Bakugo hasn't let up at all for pretty much the last 8 years. But the last thing he wanted was for his sisters to worry about him especially given how…protective they can be. All he could say without going into great detail was that Bakugo never celebrated Halloween again. "I promise I'm ok."
"Hmmmm…" Tatsumaki hummed a bit as she narrowed her eyes at Izuku to see if he was telling the truth or not. Izuku sweated a bit nervously but thankfully Tatsumaki just sighed and turned around. "Really wish you'd stop calling that little brat Kacchan, I can think of 9 names that would fit him much better."
"Tatsumaki you know that mom doesn't like us using language like that," Izuku nervously responded as he scratched the back of his head, knowing the nicknames Tatsumaki had for Bakugo would leave sailors speechless. "C-Come on let's just try and e-enjoy the weekend."
Tatsumaki sighed again before giving her brother a smile. "Alright, alright, but this conversation isn't over." Tatsumaki informed her brother as she started floating forward with Izuku walking close behind, "Come on there's some new stuff that got added to the agency I wanna show you,"
"Sounds fun!" Izuku smiled as he and his sister went into the elevator.
And so Tatsumaki and Izuku spent the next few hours hanging out and going over her agency. Though Izuku's seen it plenty of times before as Tatsumaki said there were a couple of new additions since he was last there like some new sidekicks, and even a remodeling of a part of the building that wasn't in use. It was now an investigation center meant to handle cases with more shady villains that handled things in the shadows and required a more careful approach and investigating which Tatsumaki was still getting used to even if she was the number 3 hero.
Eventually though Tatsumaki was called out to handle some villains that were making a scene somewhere and quickly took off, reassuring Izuku that she wouldn't be long. So now that just left Izuku taking out the stuff in his bag at the guest room he usually stayed at when visiting Tatsumaki's agency. All he really brought was a pillow, blanket, his hero journal, and a single All Might action figure.
After getting all of his stuff out, Izuku felt his stomach growling and blushed a bit in embarrassment even if no one was around to hear it. "Guess I better get something to eat…" Izuku told himself as he proceeded to exit the room and planned to hit up the noodle place right next door to this building. And as Izuku headed over to the elevator…
"Hey did you see Tornado's little brother today?" Izuku overheard some sort of conversation from around the corner, peaking, he saw it was three of Tatsumaki's newest sidekicks so he didn't really know any of their names yet.
"Yeah what about him?" The 2nd sidekick asked in a bored tone, probably wishing he was anywhere else doing something right now.
"Well you're not gonna believe this, but I heard he's quirkless." Izuku silently gasped and quickly hid himself, already feeling that awful feeling in his gut whenever anyone talked about his quirklessness.
This seemed to get the other sidekicks' attention as they both looked to the first sidekick. "Wait what?" The third sidekick asked to make sure he heard that right. "You serious?
"Yeah really, I heard from a few others." Izuku felt his lip start to quiver as he heard more. He wanted to just leave and forget he heard this, but it was like his feet were keeping him there and listening to every word. "Completely quirkless, weird huh?"
"Isn't he also Blizzard's little brother too?" The 2nd sidekick asked, knowing that Tatsumaki was the older sister of the Blizzard of Hell.
"Yeah he is," The first sidekick laughed a bit.
"Man, two heroes like that having a quirkless little brother," The 3rd sidekick let out as he shook his head, "That's gotta look pretty embarrassing."
"I know right, couldn't be me," The three sidekicks then shared a laughed at the boy's expense, unaware that he heard everything they said.
Finally, Izuku's feet let him start moving, allowing him to run away from the harsh words of the sidekicks' as he quickly went into the elevator before anyone could see him as tears fell from his eyes. Hitting the button to the first floor, Izuku instantly headed out of the room and outside the building, ignoring the reception asking what was wrong. Despite his earlier reason for wanting to leave the building, Izuku completely ignored the noodle place as he raced forward just getting as far away from the building as possible.
And so Izuku just ran for a solid twenty minutes, just going straight and not really paying attention to anything around him or people he passed wondering why he was in such a hurry. Finally, his legs couldn't run anymore so the greenette sat down on the first bench he found and just breathed heavily as sweat poured down from his head. As he rested from his run, the sidekicks' words replayed in his head…
'I heard he's quirkless.'
'That's gotta be embarrassing.'
'Couldn't be me.'
'They're right…' Izuku told himself as tears started to come down his eyes as he couldn't help but think that those sidekicks were right with their words. 'Tatsumaki and Fubuki are such great and strong heroes…and here I am, just some quirkless kid trying hopelessly to be a hero…how could I possibly try and compare to them…'
Izuku sniffled as he gripped his pants tightly and hung his head low. "I'm just a massive embarrassment…"
"Hey kid you alright? You're crying an awful lot there," A voice next to Izuku spoke up, noting the boy's waterfall of tears. Wiping away his tears, Izuku looked and saw a man in a red and white hoodie with the word Oppai being on the chest in center with shapes that resembled a woman's chest below that all in yellow, something that made Izuku blush a little bit. The man himself had a very…simple face. Izuku was sometimes called out for looking plain but this guy was something else. And his head was so incredibly bald that sunlight reflected off it.
"O-Oh sorry about that," Izuku stuttered as he brought his hands together and looked away from the man. "I-I didn't mean to bother you."
"Eh, you weren't bothering me, just pointing it out," The bald stranger said in a casual tone as he just stared at the sky. "Something up? Kid steal your lunch money or something?"
"Huh? N-No nothing like that…" Izuku scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I just…I just needed to leave my sister's agency for a bit…"
"Your sister a hero or something?" The man asked with the same tone.
"Y-Yeah and…I heard some of her sidekicks talking about me…" Usually Izuku didn't feel comfortable about talking about his quirklessness with other people, even his own family, but in the state he was in he wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying. "They were talking about how I'm just an embarrassment to her and my other sister for being quirkless…"
Now at first this man was just kind of talking Izuku to pass the time as he waited for something, just wanting anything to get rid of the boredom. But Izuku saying he was quirkless, now that got his attention as he looked to Izuku again while raising a really thin eyebrow. "You're quirkless?" He didn't sound insulting, he didn't sound sympathetic he just sounded…casual and monotoned like always. Izuku squeaked a bit in response and looked away. The man seemed confused at this reaction and asked another question. "Got a name kid?"
"I-Izuku M-Midoriya…" Izuku answered the man as he tilted his head more towards him.
"Saitama," The man now known as Saitama introduced himself. "So what's this about you being quirkless?"
Izuku was still uncomfortable with this…but maybe it would help to talk about this with someone. And he already revealed that he was quirkless so he might as well rip off the rest of the bandage. "Y-Yeah I'm quirkless…" Izuku confirmed with a sad nod. "M-My older sisters are a-amazing heroes with their own agencies and even graduated from UA and…I'm just their quirkless brother. I wanted nothing more than to be a hero like them and All Might but…I can't be a hero without a quirk…I'm just nothing…"
"…" Saitama was silent as he stared Izuku, seeing the boy hug himself into a ball. He simply blinked and kept his usual expression as he said…
"I don't see why not. I could."
Izuku lightly gasped as he looked to man, finally seeing his face and bald head for himself as Saitama looked down at him. "H-Huh…" Izuku…had to be hearing things. There's no way Saitama said what he thought he heard. "What…What did you say?"
"What couldn't hear or something?" Saitama asked as he titled his head. "I said I don't see why you can't be a hero without a quirk, I am."
Izuku's eyes widened. His ears didn't play tricks on him…Saitama admitted he was a hero…and a hero without a quirk. Izuku was about to stutter and unleash a barrage of questions until he really got a good look at Saitama. "Wait a second…" Izuku looked over every part of Saitama. His simple facial features, his shining bald head, it was clear to Izuku who Saitama was now. "Wait a second…oh my gosh! You're Caped Baldy! The number ten hero!"
At hearing his hero name, Saitama's expression finally changed from his blank one to one of annoyance with a tick mark appearing on his head. "Yeah, I'd prefer you just calling me Saitama." The bald man told Izuku with a slightly annoyed tone, making Izuku raise his brow. "I swear the hero association just gave me that name to spite me or something…"
"Spite you?" Izuku questioned before realization kicked in. "Oh right, if I remember the news story right you never actually went to a hero school right? You were a vigilante and the association decided to give you a license."
"Yeah, I wasn't breaking the law since I wasn't using a quirk to fight criminals." Saitama explained as he looked up at the sky again. "Since they had nothing on me they decided to give me a license just to keep taps on me…also giving me that stupid name in the process…"
"But wait, I thought they talked about your quirk on the news?" Izuku asked with a raised brow. "Your quirk is called hard fist and-"
"Yeah no." Saitama bluntly cut off Izuku, making him seal his lips. "They just said that since they have a hard time believing I'm quirkless, even after the x-ray."
"Wow…you're really a quirkless hero…" Izuku muttered quietly with amazement.
But Saitama got the wrong idea with this and gained an annoyed expression again. "We just met kid, what would be the point of lying to you?"
Izuku flinched a bit as he rose up his hands and waved them around. "N-No! I didn't m-mean it like that! I-I-I just…I just…" Izuku sighed as he asked the one question he had to know. "How? How did you do it? Please tell me? Even though your quirkless…you're on par with All Might in strength, possibly even more so. And I wanna be a hero too, so how can I be a hero without a quirk?"
Saitama just shrugged as he stood up and put his hands in his hoodie pockets. "It's not really some big secret or anything," Saitama told him as he scratched his head. "You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Please tell me," Izuku was willing to try anything that could give him a chance.
Saitama lightly sighed as he decided to tell Izuku his not so big secret. "Alright kid, here's what I did…" Izuku was prepared to take in every single word. He flinched a bit as Saitama's expression suddenly hardened and became extremely serious. "100 push-ups! 100 sit-ups! 100 squats! And a 10-kilometer run every single day! Never ever use the air conditioner in the summer, or the heater in the winter so you can strengthen the mind. And of course, make sure to eat three meals daily, just a banana in the morning is fine. In the beginning you wish you were dead. You might start thinking, what's the harm of taking a day off? Even when my arms kept making weird clicking noises, I kept doing pushups. I did squats even when my legs feel like they couldn't move. Even when I was spitting blood I didn't stop. I toughed it out and endured the pain. A year and a half later I started to notice a difference. I was bald! And I had become stronger! In other words, I trained like hell to the point where my hair fell out. That's the only way to become truly strong." Once Saitama finished, his face returned to normal and the number 10 hero looked to Izuku and saw the greenette staring at him with an expression he couldn't quite pin down. Saitama simply sighed. 'Yeah, should've known he wouldn't believe me. Just like Genos-'
"THAT'S SO COOL!" Saitama was caught off guard by Izuku standing up and looking up at him with sparkles in his green eyes. "So…I could really be a hero if I trained like that? Trained that hard?"
'He…actually believe's me?' Saitama blinked a few times before he found a small smile coming to his face as he looked down at Izuku. "Well yeah sure. Although a little advice, maybe not do it exactly how I did it. Yeah I got stronger but immense strength isn't all it's cut out to be. So maybe just do a mini-version of it."
"Alright…if you say so." Izuku nodded as he made a mental note to write this all down in his journal later. He could actually be a hero…a quirkless hero like Saitama. He couldn't believe it.
"THERE YOU ARE!" Suddenly Izuku felt his blood run cold as a voice called out to him. And it sounded both incredibly angry and worried. Looking behind him, Izuku saw none other than Tatsumaki flying up to him with an expression that matched her tone. Now floating in front of her little brother, she looked down at him with a stern frown. "Where the hell have you been?! My receptionist told me you just bolted out of the agency without telling why! If it wasn't for the tracking device mom put on your phone it could have been hours before I found you!"
"I-I'm really sorry I…wait mom put what on my phone?" Izuku wanted to catch that part again but Tatsumaki wasn't having it.
"Don't dodge the subject here Izuku!" Tatsumaki snapped at her brother making him wince. Tatsumaki then noticed Saitama out of the corner of her eye just watching this whole thing transpire and quickly grew annoyed. "Ugh, what are you doing here?"
"I was just sitting here waiting for my friend to come back from the store," Saitama casually answered as he picked at his ear, making Tatsumaki cringe a bit in disgust. "Midoriya showed up and we just kinda talked, no big deal,"
"Hpmh, well that still doesn't explain why you ran off," Tatsumaki snapped towards Izuku and narrowed her eyes at her brother. "Alright mister spill it,"
Gulping a bit in fright, Izuku took a deep breath and just let it all out. "When you left I overheard a few of your sidekicks talking about me…being quirkless…" Tatsumaki's eyes widened as she heard this and was silent as Izuku went on. "They said how I was just an embarrassment to you and Fubuki for being their quirkless little brother and…I thought they were right. Both of you are so cool, stronger, and brave heroes and…all I do is make you two look bad just because I'm quirkless…"
Izuku then lowered his head, ready to take any sort of punishment Tatsumaki has for him…but instead received a warm hug from his sister. "Don't. You ever. Say that." Tatsumaki told him firmly as she held him tightly, Izuku's eyes beginning to water as he hugged his sister back. "Now you listen here and you listen good, there's no one I would rather have as my brother and I am incredibly proud of that. Quirk or no quirk."
Izuku was breathing heavily now as he embraced his sister more and buried his head into her shoulder, lightly crying. "Thank you…" Izuku continued to hug his sister as Tatsumaki used her powers to float them into the air and head back in the direction of her agency.
"Come on, let's head back," Tatsumaki told her brother in a small tone. "I got some sidekicks to fire and throw out of the building."
"…Hm, nice kid." Saitama said before sitting back down and checking his phone. "Wonder what's taking Genos that long."
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"Nevermind."
FOUR MONTHS LATER
"Come on…keep…going…keep…going…." Currently Izuku was currently sweating like a water fall as he ran forward wearing a track suit. The day after his meeting with Saitama, Izuku promised himself he'd take the training Saitama told him about to heart, while also toning it down like the number ten hero said.
He made sure to tell his mother this and she was in full support. As for his sisters, he only told them he was working out. He wasn't sure how they'd react to him training like Saitama and how intense and painful it would be.
After four-months, Izuku could see why Saitama said he felt like dying when training. And he was only doing a mini-version where so far he's doing 30 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats a day while doing a 2 kilometer run as well as the three meals a day thing. The only thing he was trying to imitate was the part about not using the AC or heater. Not because of him not wanting to give them up, but because there was no way his mother would give them up.
But he made do with this and all the pain he had. Finally, to his relief, his watch beeped signaling him that he had run 2 kilometers worth of steps.. "Oh….Oh thank God…" Izuku then sought out the nearest bench he could and crashed down onto it. As soon as he was sitting down, Izuku took out his water bottle and chugged down all of it in one drink before wiping off some sweat from his forehead. "…Just….gotta….keep going….I can keep going…" Despite putting up with this for four months, Izuku wasn't giving in. He could already feel himself getting stronger, but not hero strength quite yet. He had three years before his chance to apply to UA would come, and he was determined to aim for that school like his sisters.
"Huh? Saito? What are you doing here?"
Izuku heard a female voice speak and turned his head and suddenly found himself looking into a pair of golden-yellow cat-like eyes. Getting a better look, Izuku saw that this girl was actually looking down at him. She had messy ash-blond hair, though it was a tiny bit darker then Bakugo's hair, that went down to her shoulders and was wearing a school uniform that consisted of a blue jacket, a black undershirt with a red bow-tie, a black and white plaid skirt, white stockings that reached halfway up her knees, and simple brown shoes.
As they looked into each other's eyes, they had no idea how this encounter would chance both their lives.
And there ya guys go!
Not only do we get to see more of Izuku's life, but we're introduced to the One Punch Man himself and a girl that should be pretty familiar to MHA fans~
And while yes, Izuku is doing a mini-version of Saitama's training, I have much more planned then just turning him into another version of Saitama, just trust me on this you won't have to wait long to find out.
