Chapter 3: A Day of Trivia

The next day, I met up with Sarah, James, and Henri, as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, Carly Shay, Spencer Puckett, and Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at the Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties office in Monroeville for a day of trivia. My mentor, Jenna was also there. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. "Do you think that that guy, Nevel from Natrona Heights would have outsmarted me as far as trivia goes?" Carly asked. "I don't think so, Carly," Spencer replied. "Hold on... who's Nevel? I don't remember him." "He was an old friend of ours who was often seen around the neighborhood," Mr. Benson explained. "I don't even remember when the last time I even did trivia was," Max admitted. "I think that you would have to go all the way back to summer post 11th grade when I did trivia formally." "You did trivia more recently than that, Max," Justin pointed out. "I remember." "I know that I am up for a good old-fashioned game of trivia," Alex stated. We divided into teams and named them after the artists behind our favorite dance anthems. Sarah, James, Henri, and I were on Team Santana, Carly, Spencer, and Freddie were on Team NSYNC, and Alex, Justin, Max, and Jenna were on Team 98 Degrees. First up was Team Santana. The categories featured were Pittsburgh Neighborhoods, Pittsburgh Municipalities, Birthday Celebrations Around the World, Sleepover Guidelines, and Party Food and Drinks. "Wasn't that a great game, or what?" Sarah asked. "Imagine if Betsy were on my team," James pointed out. "Wait a minute... who is Betsy again?" Henri asked. "I don't remember her." "She was the girl that I asked out to the school dance, remember?" James asked. "I know one person I would NOT want to have on my team, and his name is Nathan," Sarah admitted. "I know how you feel, Sarah," I empathized. "He would be nowhere near eligible for trivia- either professional or casual!" Then, Team NSYNC got a chance at the categories. "It felt unfortunate that I was no longer going to hear music from Justin Timberlake once I heard that he was retiring from music," Carly stated. "At least, he still did the voice of a few animated characters." Finally, Team 98 Degrees took their turn. "Wow, it does feel like a hot day out there, with the humidity index being a steamy 98 Degrees," Alex joked. "It reminds me of the marvelous spring and summer of 2010 where we always had great weather!" "You're funny, Alex," Jenna pointed out. "Seriously, though, I love the band and their music is so incredibly good," Alex stated. We found out that Team Santana beat Team 98 Degrees by 2 points. After trivia was over, Jenna drove me back to their apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
