The next evening...
Barry Quinton and Toby are waiting in the middle of a dark alley, alone with the shy mathematician holding the bottle with the acid inside. They are currently looking at the black cat sitting in front of them, far away.
" Barry... "
" What ? " Barry responds, frustrated but not stressed.
" You see, the black cat... "
" Don't care. " His answer provokes a silence lasting a dozen of seconds before Toby talks again.
" Black cats usually represent bad lucks ! "
" No shit... "
" Do you believe in destiny and fate ? "
" I'm a damn scientist. What do you think ?! "
" I know... Stupid question. "
" Next time... If you wanna talk about this, talk to Cody. "
" But he is a dog... " Barry turns his gaze away from his friend.
Suddenly, two black vans arrive in the meeting point. They park in front of the two citizens, making the black cat flee.
" Run, little boy. " Barry comments while he leaves.
After that, two masked men get out from each van and come to them.
" Acid. " Toby quickly gives the bottle. One of them takes it, opens it and stares at the inisde. " That's good. " He closes it and everyone goes back to the van.
" Hey ! " Barry stops the four of them, who turn around.
" What again, fucker ? "
" We gave you a very dangerous acid. Don't you think we deserve a little something ? "
" Right... Since you insist so much... " One of them, probably the leader, walks forward, takes out a gun from his back pocket and aims at Toby. " It's been a year that we waited for you ! Time to be punished... "
As he was gonna shoot, under Toby's traumatism and Barry's surprise, the boss suddenly gets his pistol stolen... by a whip. The whip quickly climbs back up. Everyone looks up... but no one is seen... until one of the thieves screams. They look at his direction... bur he has disappeared.
" Delta ! Fuck where are you ?! Beta, get the acid into the truck ! Charlie, take your gun and cover Beta ! " As Beta runs to the truck, the boss and his goon cover him, pointing their gun before them. All of a sudden, a plastic ball hits Beta's head... and this one accidentally spills all the acid onto the floor. He and the bottle fall to the floor and while the object rolls away, the fallen man gets some of the acid onto his face and his torso.
" FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK ! FUUCK ! FUCK FUCK ! ALPHA ! I'M BURNING ! " He screams very loudly as his boss keeps aiming. Meanwhile, his mask, his pullover, his skin and his face slowly burn into the acid.
" Shit... Charlie, help him. " Charlie runs to his partner but a shadow suddenly flies by his side and double kicks him away. Both disappear and at the end, Charlie reappears, unmasked and tied up. Charlie pleads his boss to come to their rescue but this one prefers to run away... until he faces, at a few inches away, the Black Cat (supervillain, not the cat from earlier), in her best shape.
The woman waits Alpha to make a move, fists on her hips. Then immediately, Alpha gets his courage back and attempts a punch. But the woman dodges five of his punches before counterattacking : she punches the belly first, then the jaw before ending with a rondhouse back kick. She walks away... until Alpha gets up unexpectedly. She runs to him and performs a swift Hurricanrana, like in pro wrestling.
The last thief rolls away until bumping against a dumpster. Then he collapses. After that short fight, the Black Cat heads to the man hit by the acid. He is now unconscious and his body is now away from the liquid. The woman analyzes the scene.
" Threat neutralized. It's gonna take two minutes before it disappears. " She comments. Then she meets the two witnesses, with Toby trembling. Meanwhile, Barry only hopes that this scene ends quick so that he heads back home.
" Your wallets, gentlemen. "
" And why's that... " Before Barry finishes protesting, Toby has thrown his wallet to the floor in front of the Cat.
" Thank you, honey. " She grabs it, opens it and takes only the money before throwing the wallet with the rest to his owner. " That'll be enough. " She goes to walk away until Barry calls her.
" Ms... "
" What is it, darling ? "
" Why have you come here ? "
" Secret mission. Call the police and wait here... And call also an ambulance for this poor sir. " She is mentioning the acid victim.
After that, she uses her whip to reach the rooftop and disappear.
" Gonna say, she is damn sexy ! " Toby comments happily.
A few minutes later...
The police has arrived while the ambulance brings the injured man to the hospital. Meanwhile, Barry and Toby leave freely the place.
" Thank god the police believed us and let us go ! " Toby says.
" Let's just head back home and forget about all of this ! "
" Forget... Dude that was the best moment of my life ! We've come close to the Black Cat ! If I hadn't given that acid late... "
" By the way... " Quinton uses his finger to lead Toby against the nearest wall. " How wasn't I informed about this ? It was since last year... "
" Listen... You don't know how much I'm sorry... But could I really tell you that I would be killed by gangsters ?! "
" Why didn't you say so ? "
" You wouldn't have cared. Plus you didn't want to be implicated into troubles ! "
" You're right. "
" About what ?! " Toby asks, surprised.
" I don't give a shit. Let's go ! " Both head to their apartment.
As soon as they enter their house, Cody licks Toby's face while Barry quickly goes to sleep with his current clothes.
" Barry, the best thing to do is to change clothes. " Toby asks kindly.
" Don't care. Goodnight. " He answers, already sleeping.
Toby sighs and plays a little bit with Cody.
" At least, you aren't grumpy... " Despite that, Cody prefers to leave to the kitchen.
" Here I am... Alone... What a life... Bright side : I will masturbate myself thinking about Black Cat's sexy body. Now where are the handkerchieves ? "
Somewhere, in the hospital of Manhattan...
A nurse is walking through the empty corridor of the hospital with the lights on. She is holding a dark document holder with a few papers inside. As she was heading to the end of the corridor, she suddenly notices sounds in one of the patients' rooms, precisely the door 208. But she is aware that there shouldn't be any sound inside this specific room, especially because the patient 208 is in a deep coma.
So she lookd through the window, but the curtains were closed. Suddenly they open themselved by the force of the wind. But she quickly looks at the window of the room and it's closed. So she takes a look at the patient into the coma and something shocking occurs : the patient - supposed to be into a coma - is awaken, but she is spilling a great amount of wind which sweeps every object of the room, no exception.
The nurse takes one of the walkie-talkies provided by the hospital and calls her superior.
" Doctor... It's the patient 208. She is awaken. "
" Excellent news ! Let her rest a while, after that... "
" That's not it. "
" What is it ? Is she okay ? "
" That's the issue : she seems to... spill a lot of wind from her mouth which makes fly everything in the room. "
" Are you inside ? "
" No, thank god... " Suddenly a chair hits the window next to the nurse, scaring her and making her scream.
" You okay ?! "
" Yeah... Just the window... "
" Who does she think she is ?! Tornado ! She has to stop... "
" That's not volunteer ! "
" What ?! Are you sure ?! "
" According to what I see, the patient... seems... to be dead and that a mysterious force makes her use that wind... Have you seen The Exorcist ?! "
" Seriously ! Stay where you are !... "
" Wait ! If we wait long, she might kill someone... or herself. I'll see what I can do... "
" NURSE ! DON'T GO IN THERE ! " She puts the machine away and courageously enters in the room.
Inside, it's like a tornado is attacking the room. The nurse tries to reach the patient, but the wind is too powerful. So she decides to hang on the bar usually used for patients with leg issues. She advances slowly but surely... Until the wind makes her fly to the air... hopefully she is still hanging.
But the wind doubles its strenght... that everything attached to a wall gets unhooked... Even the bars with the nurse. This one loudly screams, knowing she'll die. She flies to the top of the patient and suddenly... gets propulses to the wall at the other side. The extremely violent shock breaks her skull and kills her. She falls on the floor, lifeless before flying with the other objects.
And then... the patient finally wakes up and opens his eyes. At the same time, the storm stops and everything falls to the floor, even the corpse. He stands up and witnesses, shocked, at the damages that occured. The patient has no memory of anything that happened in his former life... or right now. He looks around and the person looks at his forearm to see a familiar name : Jessica Harrington. So she remembers who she was.
" My name... is Jessica Harrington... What... What happened ? " She is whispering. Then she looks at the door and believes that anyone has heard the mess. She tries to scream.
" Hel... " As soon as she nearly finishes the word, a strong force field comes out of her mouth and propulses the dead body against the wall. Horrified, Jessica screams and this time, the force field sends a violent series of invisible circles blocking the corpse against the wall.
As soon as she closes her mouth, the power stops and the corpse falls. She puts her hands on her mouth, traumatized, and slowly gets up from her bed. After painfully freeing herself from the material on her body, she slowly walks out of the room. Because of the coma, she has issues remembering how to walk, after 37 years. So when she gets out of her room, she immediately falls on the floor. In a hurry, she decides to crawl to the exit.
But she is intercepted by a male nurse who gets her up. He alse sees she is into a patient attire.
" Miss... Why are you out of your room ?! Why are you out of your room ?! "
" I want out... " She desperately whispers.
" Easy ! You must return to your room. "
" I want out... "
" You aren't in capacity of walking... I gotta bring you... "
" I WANT OUT ! " Suddenly a giant force field projects the man away from the patient. He falls to the floor, unconscious. More horrified, the woman tries to flee... only to fall down. She crawl to the exit, desperately... until she finds two abandoned crutches. She decides to use them to get herself up. With that, she slowly heads with worry in her mind to the exit, at the back of the hospital, to avoid being spotted by the staff.
Meanwhile...
The leading doctor and a few nurses walk fastly to the room 208. The boss uses his master key to open the room. As he looks inside, he notices three important things : the mess, the dead body and the disappearance of the patient.
He stands at the door, petrified.
" Nurse... Call the police. Tell them that one of our patients has fled after murdering a staff member. Precise, please, that she can manipulate the wind and that she just woke up from a coma... " He says, without moving any part of his body.
