Hi everyone, how are you?
I've gladly found some time between my maths problems to update this story.
I didn't get many feedback with the last chapter so I'm a bit down... Please drop a comment and tell me how the story is going and if you like it.
Enjoy chapter 3!!!
TEEN IN LOVE
At the end of the lesson, Donna quickly headed out and went to get a snack from the machine. When she bent to take her snack out, she saw Harvey's reflection on the glass of the machine.
"Donna" he greeted her.
"Harvey" she turned around and unconsciously put the lock of hair fallen in front of her eye behind her ear and bit her bottom lip.
"Should we set a date to start with the project?" Harvey asks as Donna walks to a little table and sat down.
"Yes, of course. When are you free?"
Harvey sits down and gives her his signature smile, "What about tomorrow? If it's not too early"
"I'm sorry but I can't, I already have an appointment with Rachel" she lies. She has to bring her mother to therapy on Thursdays.
"Oh, well, then what about Friday?"
"That's perfect for me"
"At my house?" he smirks and lifts his eyebrows.
Donna shooks her head but smiles because she finds it cute when he tries to hit on her even if he knows it won't go well.
"I think it's better if we meet at the library"
"Neutral zone huh? Afraid you'd fall for me?" he leans forward and gets close to her.
Donna decides to play along and leans in too, just enough that their faces are mere centimetres apart.
"Trust me, if anybody is falling for anybody, it would be you for me" she whispers and smirks when she sees how it all affected him. She stood up and collected her things from the table before going away and turning around just to wink at him.

Two days later she entered the library just to found Harvey seated at one of the tables in the study area of the building.
"Hey" she said and sat in the chair next to him.
"Hey" he replied.
"So"
"So"
"I think we should start choosing the country we're going to work on" Donna proposes.
"Yes, we're looking for a rich one or a less wealthy one?"
"I don't know. I'd say we eliminate American's countries. It's just too boring"
"Agreed, I don't want a lame one"
"How about a challenge?" Donna asks and sees the light in Harvey's eyes at the idea, "What's the most economical difficult country you can think about?"
"Err… Chad, Estonia, Congo-" he starts to list all the countries but she stops him.
"There, Congo. I like it, it's difficult, nobody will choose it" Donna points out, "You up for a challenge Specter?"
"I'm always ready for that" Harvey opens his laptop, "let's start"
Donna nods and stares at Harvey as he concentrates on his search and writes down on his notebook data of different years. She was amused by him. When she thinks she figured him out he does something to surprise her.
It's weird for her, she sees someone, she analyzes them and then she just knows what to do, how to behave. But he seems different. She keeps her guard up but after a sentence or two from him and a grin, her guard falls.
And she likes it but she is also kinda scared of it.
He senses she is looking at him and frankly it's quite a bit she is staring but her thought brought her far from the library.
"Can I help you?" he tries.
She snaps into reality again and blushes, turning her head and looking down and stares at a letter on her notebook hoping he will just drop it.
And he does, but the smirk on his face tells her he knows what she is doing.
They work surprisingly well together, they wrote down some notes and then set a calendar with the dates they can meet. They worked in sincro. Harvey making dirty comments and hitting on her, Donna rolling her eyes but something shifting inside her every time his pinky meets hers on the table.
"Hey, you need to go home already?" Harvey asked as both got out of the building.
"Well, not necessarily, it's still early"
"Good, come with me" he takes her hand and starts walking. Donna laughed at the sudden movement and had no other choice than follow him.
He eventually stops in front of a colorful building.
"What's this?" she asks.
"Giulia's, the best ice cream place you can find in Boston" he smiles, "and in the world, if you ask me"
"I guess we have no other option than to enter, huh?" Donna smiles too.
"I like the way you think Paulsen" he winks before pulling her inside the ice cream shop.
Harvey pays both their ice creams and they go sit on a bench near Giulia's.
"Oh my God, this is awesome" Donna squirts when she takes a first lick and smiles excitedly at Harvey.
"Told you"
He took a cone with a scoop of chocolate and a vanilla ball and she took a cone with two balls of Chunky Monkey. They stayed there some time, just enough to finish their ice cream and then Donna stood up from the bench.
"Thank you for the ice cream but I really need to go now" she leans on him and leaves a quick kiss on his cheek before smiling and turning around to head home.
When she gets home, she is wearing the biggest smile her mother has ever seen on her daughter's face in months, years maybe.
"You're home. Finally" Bethany exclaimed when Donna sat on the couch next to her.
"I left a note this morning saying I didn't know when I would be back. Why? Are you okay? Something happened?" Donna worried.
"No, no, don't worry… just observing"
"Oh, okay. The professor gave us an assignment to do in pairs and me and my partner met today. It went well we work good together" and there it is she is smiling ear to ear again.
"And this partner is the reason for your smile?"
"What smile?"
"That happy face you have now"
"What happy face?" she shook her head, "I have no happy face" Donna stood up and collected her things before running upstairs.
"No happy face… sure" her mother talked to herself shaking her head and smirking happily.
When upstairs Donna takes her notebook dedicated to her drawings and takes a pencil from her pencil case.
She draws line after line and shade after shade.
She loses herself in her imagination and concentres all her focus on the piece of paper in front of her. So much that she doesn't notice her mother calling her from downstairs nor her mother entering her room and stopping behind her.
Bethany watches her daughter as she draws. A portrait, a male face.
"Who is this?"
Donna literally jumps in her chair turning around and putting a hand on her chest to feel her heartbeat increase.
"What the hell mom?! You want me to die?"
"We both know I am the one closer to death" Beth jokes.
"Do not joke over it" Donna points a finger to her. She hates when her mother does that, humoring her situation.
"Okay" her mother nods then her attention shifts again to Donna's drawing, "Who is he?"
"Nobody" Donna turns the piece of paper upside down.
"Oh really? It looks like you're drawing him a lot lately" Beth smirks taking in her hands the other piece of paper spread all over her daughters' desk, all representing the same person.
"He has just good face lines. He's easy to draw"
"He looks pretty" her mothers continues to tease her.
"Stop mom! Weren't you here because dinner is ready? Let's go, we don't want dinner to get cold, do we now?"

Some days after, Donna was getting ready in the bathroom applying more mascara than the usual when she heard someone knocking at the door.
"Mom, could you go see who it is?" Donna screamed from the bathroom, trying to adjust her hair.
She hears her mother great whoever it is at the door and a male voice doing the same.
The redhead was looking at the screen of her phone when she got out of the bathroom and blindly took her bag in the living room.
"Hey, mom, who was at-" she looked up from her device and froze on the spot. Wide eyes looking at first at her mother and then locking with the eyes of the person just outside her house.
Thank you if you arrived here.
?- Who do you think is at the door?
