"Do you know why they're arguing this time?" Monse asked. I snorted. "Who knows, could be about the party or about Mario leaving. You get used to it after a while." Laying my head back I sighed. Monse leaned her head on my shoulder. "You ready for this summer?" I asked smirking at her. She groaned dropping her head in a pillow. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and frowned pulling it out and looking at it. Rolling my jaw, I sat up. "I'll be back." I stood and headed to Mario's room answering the phone.

"You shouldn't be calling." I spoke softly. "You answered." Sighing, I leaned against the door. "I get out soon." Looking down at my shoes, I frowned. "So." I heard him laugh. "Princessa, that means I'll see you soon." "Oscar." "Elizabeth." Rolling my eyes, I stood straight. "We are not together anymore, that means you won't see me." He laughed again before his voice got deeper. "Tell me Princessa, do you still wear my ring? How about that necklace?" Huffing I hung up. "Asshole." Running my hand through my hair, I sat on Mario's germ-infested bed before the phone rang once more. Don't answer. Don't answer. Don't answer. I shook my head before answering. "I'll be seeing you soon my Princessa." There was silence. Taking a deep breath and closing my eyes, I answered. "See you soon Oscar." This time he hung up.

I groaned letting my hands fall in my hands. A moment later the door opened. "We broke up." "Again?" I said sitting up. "This time for real." "You said that last time. And the time before that and the time before that oh and the time before that. You guys are stuck together." Mario paced the room. "This time for real. We're done. She thinks she's all that because she beautiful." I gave a deadpan look. "Mario, I love you, I do but you can be stupid sometimes. You guys will either get back together in like a week or two or by like spring break, you guys will get back together. Point is you guys are going to be together forever."

He started crying for a second but stopped. "It's okay to cry Mario." He shook his head. "I'm good, I'm good." Standing up, I held out my arms and he came to hug me crying. Mario's little brother Ruby passed the room and saw my exasperated look. "Help me." I mouthed. He sighed. "Hey Mario, Jamal wanted to know if you had anymore tips for school." Mario nodded and wiped his face and walked towards the living room. I laughed to myself before following, I've got to hear this.

"Liz table six ready." "Got it!" Rush hour was just finishing up and we were slowing down fast. Getting the food, I headed to table six. "Cheese-burger and fries?" "Right here." "Salad with French dressing?" "That's mine." "Wings?" "Right here." "Alright, here's some napkins, let me know if you need anything else." Turning I went to a new table to check on everything and give more napkins. Looking at the time, I sighed in relief before heading to the back. "Dad, it's two-thirty. I'm heading out." I called out. "Okay be safe." "I will." I grabbed my stuff before heading home to change. I stopped spotting the cherry red car parked outside.

Shaking my head, I opened my door and headed to my room. Closing my door, I crossed my arms seeing the male before me. "You do know, you can't just break into someone's home, right?" "You do know I came to see my girl, right? And Jamal let me in. I scare him." I scoffed. "I'm not your girl, Oscar." He smirked before standing and coming close. "Stop it." Oscar picked up my left hand and looked at my ring finger. He kissed it before stepping even closer and pulling my collar down a little to see his necklace. "I thought so."

"Oscar." "Elizabeth." He looked down at me and wrapped his arms around me. "Kiss me Princessa." "I'll be late for class." He smiled at my words. "Kiss me Princessa." He repeated.

"Your boyfriend scares me." I looked up from my textbook and sighed. "What?" Jamal came into my room and started pacing. "Monse came back. Cesar said something about Monse, but we didn't tell her but she's pushin', pushin' hard!" I narrowed my eyes.

"For the sake of my sanity and well-being, what are you talking about?" "Keep up girl!" Jamal squealed angrily. He took a deep breath and started, "Cesar said he smashed Monse over the summer and you can't just say things like that so Ruby and I didn't tell Monse." "Wait what? I thought you guys were all just friends." "We are-were. Anyway, Monse just got back and is asking question. I don't know how long I can keep it in me."

I frowned and made a face. "Just change the subject simple. Or just man up and tell her, you guys are friends just talk it out. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean it." Hands on his hips he nodded. "Okay. Okay. And tell Oscar I'm sorry, it's all cool." As he headed out. Blowing out a breath, I got up to lock the door.

Hearing laughter, I turned. Oscar stood in the middle of the room picking up his shirt off the floor. "I told you I scare him." Rolling my eyes, I sat back down on the bed. "That's not funny." "It is." He put on his shirt and I picked up my book. "Whatever. Now help me study." He smiled sitting down. "Okay but give it a second." He smirked stretching and leaning back on the bed.

Rolling my eyes, I picked up my book. "Section eight, let's go." I passed him the book. He nodded, still smirking and took the book. He eyed me waiting. "Studying, come on." I urged him. He pursed his lips before taking a deep breath. "Wait so Cesar and Monse?" He laughed before putting my notebook over the page and closing the book.

"Some of the guys were eyeing Monse so he claimed her." He answered. "What? Claimed her." Oscar sighed and nodded. "Remember sophomore year when you went on a date with that loser?" "The one you beat up for me?" He nodded. "That's the one. Remember what we did after?" I hit his shoulder. "That has nothing to do with your brother and Monse." He laughed before puling me down to him. "I see where your mind is Princessa, give me a moment. Let me finish explaining first." I hit his shoulder again as he held me.

"Oscar."

"I meant us hanging around each other. We went on dates, that means you were in the process of being mine and still up for grabs. So, you went on a date with that loser. I claimed you from other guys." "You guys are disgusting." He kissed my neck making me shiver.

"When a person in a gang dates someone without making it official, it means you're a target. They're friends, they might have something going on, but they're friends. Him claiming her gives her protection." I nodded somewhat understanding.

"So that means, you told everyone after that night." Smirking Oscar kissed me. "I didn't have to. Let me refresh your memory Princessa."

"Oscar!"

"How was your test?" "I passed thanks to you." "Glad I could help." I smiled walking towards my house. "Hey, come over, I'll make dinner." "What will you make?" "It's a surprise Princessa." I heard the smile in his voice. "I've got to go." I frowned at his words. "Be careful okay. Stay safe Oscar, I mean it." "I always am." I sighed as he hung up.

Putting my phone away, I opened the door and saw my parents in the living room. "Hey." "Hey sweetie, how was class?" "Slow and tiresome." I said hanging up my coat. Mom laughed. I kissed their heads as I passed them and headed to my room.

Once inside I locked the door, I dropped everything and headed to my bed. Falling on it, I got comfortable before taking a nap. It wasn't long before my phone rang. Sighing, I dug in my pocket and looked at the screen. Groaning, I got up and went out my room and down the hall. I opened Jamal's door and frowned at him. "What happened now?"

"I didn't know you were home." He hung up his phone before pulling me in and closing the door. "I quit football." I sat on his bed. "And?" Jamal shifted his eyes before putting his hands on his hips. "What do you mean, and?" I sighed. "I mean, what else has you freaking out."

"I didn't tell mom and dad." "Oh, interesting." I folded my hands. "What-you're tired aren't you? You're always cranky when you're tired." I nodded before standing up and heading back to my room. Yawning, I locked the door after I went inside and threw myself on the bed.

It was the knocking on my window that woke me up. Groaning, I sat up and looked at my phone. Shit! I looked to my window and peaked outside to see Oscar. I lifted the shade and opened the window so he could climb in. "I thought you were sleep." "Sorry I was tired. I'll come over tomorrow or well later today." I watched as he closed the window and closed the shades.

"Are you okay, Oscar?" Ignoring my words, Oscar pulled me close as kissed me. "Oscar?" He looked down at me and said nothing. I looked at him. "Are you alright?" "Yes, Princessa." He said nothing after that. "You're doing the eye thing. What's wrong?"

"Something you need to tell me?" I eyed him curiously. "I'm not pregnant." That made him roll his eyes. "Not yet you aren't." I hit his arm. "Don't even think about it. Just tell me what's wrong." "The party. The guys said you were with some guy." Snorting I rolled my eyes. "You were locked up, Mario and Angie thought I needed cheering up. Apparently, I became a hermit and they got this guy to try to talk to me. It was only like two minutes before your goons scared him off. They even shot at him."

"You still wear my ring." Rolling my eyes yet again, I put my arms over his shoulder and pulled him close. "I still wear your ring." His grip on me tightened and he pulled me in to kiss him roughly. Pulling back, Oscar took my hand and kissed it. "Lizzy." I met his eyes. "Spooky?" He frowned, "It's Oscar to you." I grinned and stepped back to get ready for bed. "Stay the night and cuddle." I offered. He snorted.

"You thought I was leaving?" It was my turn to snort. Putting on one of his old shirts, I got in bed and waited. "Come on, chop, chop." I snuggled into my covers and waited. He smirked before stripping and getting into bed. "You were a hermit?" "Shut up." I felt him smile before he held my hand in his. He was quiet for a moment.

"Princessa?" "Oscar?" I moved to look at him in faint light. He took my chin between his fingers while still holding me. "Casate conmigo?" Rolling my eyes, I grinned. "I already said yes before." He shook his head smiling. "Elizabeth Turner, casate conmigo?" "Yes, I'll marry you, Oscar."

He caressed my face. "I'll get you a house one day soon. A nice one, with a big backyard and everything." I giggled. "Close to the beach?" He grinned. "Close to the beach." I held my hand to his face and met his eye. He sighed, both of us knowing our dream wouldn't happen. I sat up and looked at him. "I'll marry you, Oscar." "Soon." He promised. "Soon." I confirmed leaning down to kiss him. He held me and we fell asleep.
