Sonic and Tails arrive back to their apartment and hook up the flash drive to the computer. Once they do, Tails looks into the files about the grimm and prepares to restore them.

Tails: Okay. Just give me about a day or two to look into all these files and it should be done.

Sonic: We're counting on you, Tails. You're our brains, after all.

Tails: Yep. Got it. Oh, and do me a favor. Order us a pizza. Stuffed crust, extra bacon.

Sonic: You got it.

After calling in for a pizza, the blue hedgehog rushes over to Pizza Hut to pick it up.

Sonic: Amazing how they are opening these in other countries now besides America. Well, better head back now.

Just as he was about to roll on back, he is stopped by a woman who grabs his arm from behind.

Sonic: Huh?

And that woman so happens to be Robotnik's current companion.

Sonic: You're... Cinder Fall?

Cinder: This will be easy for you if you listen to me right now.

Sonic: And why should I? We know you and Eggman are planning something big.

Cinder: I really do not want to fight you. But I will if I have to. Just hand over the drive and everything will be okay.

Sonic: Not a chance.

She creates a fireball with her hand. With that, the Hedgehog jumps away from her.

Sonic: Just a second.

He speeds up to the rooftop and puts the pizza in a safe spot. Then, he heads back down to the street.

Sonic: Okay. I'm ready.

Cinder starts shooting fireballs at him. He quickly dodges as he approaches her, using his spin attack. That makes her jump on top of a street lamp.

Cinder: You're incredibly fast.

Sonic: Says it right in my name. So who are you even working for anyway? And why are you working for them?

Cinder: You've figured that much out, have you. I can't tell you who I'm working for. And as for why I'm working for them, that's not your concern.

Sonic: You look like you're desperate for something.

She shoots a beam of fire at him, and he jumps out of the way.

Sonic: You definitely look desperate.

Cinder: That's not your concern! Hand over the drive now!

Sonic: No way!

He dashes behind her, and uses his spin dash, throwing her at a wall.

Sonic: Can we wrap this up quick? The pizzas are getting cold.

Cinder: Sorry, but I need that drive.

Sonic: We'll decide if you tell us what's going on. Besides, nobody's going to trust you if you don't speak up.

Cinder: You may be right. But this is very important to me. If they find out then they'll...

She quickly shuts her mouth and doesn't say anything else.

Sonic: Then what?

Cinder: Tch!

She makes her escape with smokescreen.

Sonic: Hmm...

The hedgehog arrives back to the apartment with the pizza.

Sonic: I'm back!

Tails: What took you so long?

Sonic: I had a bit of a run with Cinder Fall.

Tails: Cinder?! Don't tell me she found out about the drive!

Sonic: She did. But something was odd when I encountered her.

Tails: What?

Sonic: She seemed rather, desperate.

Tails: Desperate?

Sonic: You know how Cinder is working for someone on whatever crusade this is?

Tails: Yeah?

Sonic: I'm not jumping to conclusions, but she might have a reason. But I don't know what it is.

Tails: A reason? Hmm, well Emerald has Cinder's diary. Maybe she knows.

Sonic: Maybe. I'm just worried about what Cinder might do if we don't know her story.

Meanwhile, Cinder sits down on a rooftop, sighing.

Cinder: What am I going to do?

?: You seem to be in a bit of a pickle.

A woman with long lavender hair walks up to her.

Cinder: Who are you?

?: You could say I'm a friend of the army.

Cinder: You're working for them too?

?: Why yes. Now I see you have ran into that blue hedgehog. He's quite a nuisance is he?

Cinder: You've met him before, have you?

?: Yes. But in another world not too long ago.

Cinder: I see.

?: Do you wish to get rid of them?

Cinder: No. I don't want to kill them. I just want them out of my way.

?: Well, let's make a deal. I can give you what it is you wish for, only if you help me kill that blue rat and a certain black-haired boy.

Cinder: Kill? Who are you?

?: Hehehehe. You may call me... The Administrator.

In her room, Emerald takes a browse through Cinder's journal, looking for a reason as to why she's working with Eggman, and whoever it is that hired her.

Emerald: Hmm...

Mercury: So, you find anything useful yet?

Emerald: Well she's definitely talking about that company she's working for. Looks like it's called the... Subspace Army?

Mercury: Subspace Army?

Emerald: Yeah, but... Wait.

She takes a look at a certain page.

Emerald: No way!

Mercury: What is it? What's wrong?

Emerald: Mercury. You're not going to believe this, but...

Mercury: But what?

Emerald: Cinder has... a daughter!
