Flashes of color woke me up. My head felt like it was being crushed be a boulder. My vision was spotty. I tried to stand, but fell back to the ground. My muscles barely having enough strength to support my weight. I hit the ground and heard the crash of metal against the ground.
I began to take in my surroundings. I was on my knees with chains around my neck, ankles, and arms that connected to a solid stonewall. I did not notice the metal bars in front of me. The bars separated the dimly lit room. My head hurt and made it very hard to focus on one thing. I tried again to stand, but failed. My face landing into my paws, that I now noticed, were covered with dried blood. I
I looked at my own bloody paws in fear. What did I do? My heart started to race as my imagination began to run wild. Did I kill someone? How many did I kill? Why am I still alive? Stop it you need to calm down. Maybe you were trying to save someone by covering a bleeding wound.
My mind believed the phrase, but my heart did not. I sat there in my cage and inspected myself further. I found different markings placed all over my body. An orange flame marking was under my right forearm, a two layered diamond was place on my left side, and this weird letter 'F' with a hoop at the end of it in a lighter blue color. Who placed these here? Ugh there are too many questions and no answers to get rid of them.
I heard a bang of metal from outside of the bars that kept me captive with the sound of paws and claws scraping the stone floor. My ears perked up in anticipation. The midday sun finally bringing in enough light to see the large metal door that had opened before and who had entered.
I knew exactly what it was. An umbreon stood right outside of the bars. It's front right leg was wrapped in bandages, but she stood on it like nothing was wrong. It's red eyes were glaring at me with such rage. It made me think that I had done something wrong.
"So the monster shows us it's true form." The umbreon said.
The voice told me it was a girl for sure.
"What? What happened?" I asked while going up to the edge of the bars
The umbreon started to cry and then, she reached through the bars and wrapped her sharp jaws around my neck in one swift motion. I didn't dare move because of the fear of her closing her jaws around my neck.
"Merria! It's not your call. We have to let the council decide his fate." Another feminine voice said.
I heard Merria sniffle and felt her tears fall from her cheeks onto my shoulders. She slowly moved her head away from my neck. She walked back to stand next to the female lucario.
I fell to the ground with fear and watched as the two girls walked up to the bars. The umbreon was still crying, causing streaks to form in her already dark fur. The lucario girl just stared at me with a straight face as she opened the cage door. She threw something at me and I coward in fear, but all that happen was the sound of a bucket full of water hitting the ground.
"Get the blood off your face and paws, unless you like looking like a murderous lucario." The female lucario said.
I didn't move until they both left. I went up to the bucket and saw my bloody reflection. What did I do? I grabbed the bucket and drenched myself. I scrubbed as hard as I could to get the blood out of my fur.
I finished getting all of the blood out of my fur and heard the door to my cage open. I saw the lucario standing there holding the door open.
"Stand. The council has summoned you." She said.
I stood and slowly walked towards the door. When I got really close to the lucario, in one swift motion she grabbed my arms and put me into iron chains. She still had the calm stare, which scared me. She shoved me forward out of my prison.
We walked outside into the setting sun. We stood in the middle of a village. Everyone stopped what they were doing, which was rebuilding their village. The villagers stared at me and some began to cry, where others just gave me death glares. All types of pokemon stared at me. All I could do was stare at the ground with my ears drooping over my head.
We walked through the crowd of pokemon that made a path for us through them. Everyone were giving me their own personal glares of rage. I felt bad for some reason, like I deserved them. I looked at my blood-caked paws. Was this my blood or someone else's?
We stopped in what looked like the center of town. My guards shoved me to my knees and tied me to stakes in the ground. I didn't want to resist. I was still confused. My mind was slowly clearing up, but it wasn't happy memories that came out of the fog. I could hear screaming, destruction, and carnage,
A Lycanroc stepped from out of the crowd. He had a stern face and stood with power.
"We are gathered here to witness the trial of this monster who has laid waste to our village. We have seen the beast and have proof on sight of the blood that has been shed. What will be his punishment?" The Lycanroc asked the crowd.
I looked down at the blood. This was the blood of the villagers. I had killed.
"Wait how can you prove this?" I asked. "This could have been placed on me."
A huge roar of rage sounded from the lycanroc. He charged forward and slammed his stone spikes against my face. I laid down on the ground in pain. My face forehead leaking my blood. I felt my blood run down my face.
"My proof is the death of my daughter. You killed her you soulless monster. You have taken something from all of us." The lycanroc said while readying another strike, but the Umbreon from before stepped in front of the lycanroc.
"This is not how we do things Luke. Even this thing deserves a trial." She said.
"Even if this monster killed Patricia and destroyed your home?" Luke asked.
"Wait. I k-killed Patricia?" I asked from down on the ground.
Both Luke and Meria looked at me with surprise.
"You really don't remember do you?" the lucario said now standing out of the crowd.
I looked from her to everyone else. Many had a look of anger on their face and others were trying their best to hold back their tears.
"Let me show you." The lucario said while reaching forward with her paws.
She touched my bleeding forehead and then images poured through my head of the carnage. I saw a large monster with dark crimson eyes, blood dripping from it's mouth, and screams all around. The image then changed to Patricia laying in the rubble of what was her little hut.
The images left and I felt tears stream down my cheeks, mixing with my blood. I dropped my head to the floor and cried. I have no memories from my childhood and now I feel my mind with the memories of death and pain. I deserved whatever punishment they were going to give to me.
"I am sorry. I am sorry." I kept repeating under my tears.
"I think the council should take care of this." I heard the lucario say.
Luke stomped his feet on the ground and growled, "He has destroyed our village. We must be allowed to punish him be it death or prison."
"He has power that will change the world Luke. The council should at least give you advice." Meria chimed in.
I continued to cry as they dragged me away and there me back into my cell. I felt the dead inside. Seeing the carnage and blood run through may head over and over again was haunting me. I drifted into nightmares as I lay on the cold stone of my cell.
