Here's Chapter 3! Things start to get juicy in this chapter! ;)
I still don't own WOWP.
Justin woke up at 6:30 startled by his alarm clock. He lazily hits it before getting up.
His heart sank as he remembered what he had done last night. He still didn't have an explanation of why he did it. It just felt like he had too. Like something was pulling him towards her. He had never ever thought about Alex in that way before and the guilt he felt made him sick to his stomach.
He had to figure this out. Why would he hurt her?
Justin pulled off his pajama pants and put on a pair of jeans and a green flannel. He put all of his books into his backpack and went downstairs to eat breakfast.
He noticed Alex wasn't there. This wasn't unusual though, she was normally late in the mornings and often showed up to school after first period.
"Is Alex up?"
Justin flinched and looked up at his father. Could they tell he was shaking?
"W-what?" Justin asked.
"Do they know what I did?" Justin thought to himself, "Alex wouldn't tell them, would she? If she did, I would definitely be disowned from the family by now"
"Your sister" Jerry says again "Is she awake? It's Friday and I got an angry email from the school saying that she's only showed up for one of her first block classes the whole week".
"Uh, yeah. I think so" Justin said quickly. He was bad at keeping secrets, and didn't do well with guilt either.
He pours himself a bowl of cereal and quickly sits down to eat it, to avoid any other questions revolving around Alex.
He needed to talk to her. This wasn't right. None of it.
He looked up quickly when he saw someone coming down the stairs, but settled back into his seat when he noticed it was only Max.
Max was talking about some weird creature that was apparently living under his bed but Justin blocked him out. All he could think about was how he hurt Alex.
He told the family that he had to get to school early today, and left. That was a lie, he just needed to clear his mind; and he was sure Alex would not want to see him.
He couldn't clear his mind. He couldn't stop thinking about it, and the more he thought about it the more guilty and confused he felt.
At school, the teachers could even tell that something was a little off with Justin. When he answered a math equation wrong, he blamed it on lack of sleep.
At lunch, he sat with Zeke, who was talking nonstop, but Justin wasn't listening.
He looked around. Alex had the same lunch time as him and she was always at school by then. He didn't see her.
He decided to text her.
"Hey, are you here? We need to talk later"
When Harper came and sat across from him and Zeke, Justin's heart started pounding. If Alex told anyone, it would be Harper.
"Where's Alex?" she asks while opening a bag of Doritos.
Justin clears his throat. "I don't know, she didn't walk with me".
Harper seemed to buy it, as she pulled out her phone and didn't say anything else about it.
He was in his last class when it came across his mind. It was a spell. That had to be the cause, a spell made him do it. There was no other rational way that Justin could think of that would possess him to hurt her like that.
It was around 3:30 when Alex heard a knock on her door. She had told her parents that she wasn't feeling well today and couldn't go to school.
"Come in" she called out, expecting it to be one of her parents coming to check on her.
She gasps and sits up quickly.
"Justin" She inhales quietly as she sees her brother opening her door cautiously.
Alex sits up on the end of her bed, and Justin notices her hand snaking underneath her pillow slowly, grasping her wand, for a sense of comfort.
"Can I come in?" Justin asks softly, only to get a cold stare back in response.
He sighs as he takes in her appearance. She looked scared of him, but was trying to play it off like she wasn't. He could see through the act. Her face was flushed and puffy, like she had been crying earlier, and even the way she held herself was more timid and nervous than her usual confident self.
He did that to her. Justin's eyes started to tear up and she noticed. Instead of tearing up with him, she puffed out her chest and put on a false confidence.
"Alex, we need to talk." Justin tells her.
"I don't want to talk to you" She whispers back, confidence vanishing, as she returns back to how she looked when he first opened the door.
"I know" Justin sighs, "but- we have to... at least at some point- and I'd rather it be sooner than later".
Alex looks down, and fiddles with the green gem at the end of her wand.
"Alex, I really am truly sorry. I- I don't know why it happened- and I promise you I have never ever had any thought like that go through my mind- and-" He trailed off as he saw she was shaking her head.
"Justin- you hurt me." She said looking up at him with tears in her eyes. "I trusted you, and you hurt me. You can say sorry all you want, but- I can't forgive you. At least not yet".
Justin nods, a tear sliding down his face.
There's a tense silence for a moment until Justin speaks up again.
"Alex, what if you get pregnant?" He asks.
She looks up at him quickly, then back down to her wand.
"I won't" She mumbles.
"How do you know-?"
"I just do"
"Alex, are you sure?"
"I can't."
"You don't know that"
"I took care of it Justin. I'm not getting pregnant." She says looking back up at him.
"What do you mean you took care of it?" He asks, taking a step closer to her, the concern clear on his face.
"I just- I took care of it, okay? Don't worry about it" She looks away from him again.
"Alex- what did you do?" He asks more sternly.
Now he was just pissing her off.
"Damnit Justin" She says standing up "Fine. Since you suddenly care about everything that has to do with me I'll tell you."
He looks at her, shocked by her sudden outburst.
"I found a spell" She told him.
"A spell?" He questioned.
"Yes, If you haven't noticed, we're wizards and do those sometimes." She said sarcastically.
"It just works like a morning after pill... I'm not getting pregnant". She says.
He looks at her and smiles a little.
"Oh, that's good" he shrugs. "Hey, um, since we're on the topic of spells, I uh- think that's the reason why we're in this mess in the first place".
"What?" Alex says.
"I think- someone put a spell on me- and it made me hurt you. That's- what it felt like" Justin tells her.
Alex's eyebrows furrow and she shakes her head.
"No- no you don't get to do that." She stutters. "You can't just do- that- to me and then say someone put a spell on you and expect everything to go back to normal."
"Alex, I don't expect everything to go back to normal, but I've been thinking about it and it's the only reason I could come up with". He says.
"Really!" Alex laughs in frustration, throwing her hands up into the air. "Do you know how crazy you sound right now?"
Justin stares back at her. He thought by telling her this, she would be relieved.
"First of all, who would put a spell on you? Because I for sure know it wasn't me, and Max can barely tie his own shoes- without magic. And who does that leave?" Alex stares at him intensely.
He just shakes his head in response.
"Oh right. No one! And second of all Justin, I'm no spell book but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a 'rape your sister spell". Her eyes go wide at that last part, and a hand cups over her mouth.
Justin's eyes grew wide as well, and were watering like crazy. She said the word. The word that the both of them were too scared to even think about. She said it out loud. It all felt so much scarier and real once it came out of her mouth.
She collapsed back onto her bed, shoulders heaving as she sobs into her hands.
"Alex" Justin starts, voice cracking and a few tears falling down his own face. He steps closer to her, reaching his hand out to put on her shoulder.
"Don't touch me!" She squeaks, flinching away from his hand. She looked up at him in pure horror.
Justin pulls his hand back.
"I hate you" She whispers, eyes flashing a dark look at him.
He takes a step back and blinks.
"I hate you!" She sobs again, breaking down and burying her face in her arms.
Justin was shocked. She couldn't mean that, right? She could never hate him.
"Get out!" she cries, reaching blindly for her wand, her face still buried into her arms, with her legs tucked up to her chest.
"Oh, I- uh" Justin stutters, snapping out of his shock.
"Please. Get out- now" Her voice didn't hold such a coldness to it as it just had. It sounded broken and traumatized.
Justin swallowed and nodded, turning around to leave her room. He glances at her broken state once again before closing the door behind him.
He hears a muffled scream through her door, as if she was screaming into a pillow, followed by a fit of sobs.
Justin stands outside of her door listening for a few more moments, tears now streaming down his face as well, before heading back to his own room.
"I hate you" She had told him. Her words kept playing through this head over and over. He deserves it though.
He broke her.
