Bet you weren't expecting another chapter today huh? well I got bored and wrote this today and thought might as well release it as well so here
(Izumi POV)
Mustutafu SuperMarket
"Remind me again on why we need half a pallet of hot sauce and 3 gallons of orange juice?" Sero asked while pushing the shopping cart as we added the said contents into the cart.
"Lida's quirk drains him of his stamina after using it for continous running after a while or if kept using recipro burst too many times in a short period, so we figured out that orange juice is the best way to replenish his energy in a short amount of time. So he drinks alot of it after his morning running and after trainings". I explained as I placed the last carton of juice into the cart.
"And the hot sauce?"
"Bakugo" I replied. Mina came around the corner with a few boxes of cereal in hand. "Figured he's the one who asked for that. The hothead basically drowns everything he eats in this stuff, like seriously the man drinks it like water" the pink girl commented.
"Well his quirk does basically needs him to sweat a lot for it to work, as far as I remember spicy food never really bothered him even as kids he would always add hot chili oil to every meal he ate" I stated. As far as I remember Kacchan always spiced up everything he ate, in middle school he carried around a bottle of sriracacha hot sauce for lunch and the times he came over and ate he would add chili pepper toppings on my mom's katsudon.
Kirishima then came back with a few bags of vegetables for the dorm as I checked off another item off the list. "BakuBro has a iron stomach, I would say its manly but everytime we eat together the smell of the stuff he eats burns my nose and my eyes water".
"Alright, thats another off the list and that leaves the last few things to grab are..." mumbling a bit as a couple more stuff get placed into our cart.
"you can check off bread and Sato's baking supplies off the list as well, Midoriya" Momo told as she placed numerous baking products and loafs on top on the now stacked cart of groceries. To say our grocery runs
"Alright that leaves us with just getting the meat and we'll be done guys!". Heading off to the meat section the two guys of our group push on ahead while mina, momo, and I followed short. As moved to the back of the store to where we needed to go, Mina slings an arm around me and Momo. "It's so good to be back together in school with everyone! Can you believe it? we're finally second years!". Me and Momo both shared a look and smiled at Mina's excitement.
"It's good to be back in school with everyone, after all what we went through as first years was honestly too hectic. But nonetheless we persisted and have definitely improved as students" Momo said. I nodded along listening to her words. recalling the events that happened. 'U.A entrance exam, The USJ incident, Stain, All might's battle with all for one, The Shie Hassaikai raid' the memories flashing in my brain as we talked. Events that no one should have to go through even as heroes but thats what we chose this line of work, in order to stop these things from happening and to give those in need hope. "So Momo when are you and Todoroki gonna announce you two are going out huh?" Mina teased. Momo gave a slight blush before dismissing her. "Mina! we are not dating... as of yet. Shoto has not even asked me out and it would be a detriment on our studies if we went out right now" she stated.
"as of yet she says" Mina whispers into my ear as I chuckled at both the girls.
As we neared the meat section, glass shattering could be heard in the distance and screams of terror were cried out. Peering over from down the aisle towards the front of the store I could only see a lady running in panic to where we were before a voice rang out.
"Everybody on the ground! Nobodys leaving the store until we say so, This is a robbery"
My eyes widened before I looked back at everyone, we all shared a look between us before nodding and quietly moving towards the front of the store. I motioned for everyone to follow me as I silently moved along the left side of the market along the vegetable aisle. Moving towards the end of the aisle, I peaked around the corner to get a look at the situation at hand.
At first glance, I saw people laying on the ground with their hands above their head, some were shaking and scared at what was occuring. Looking up I saw three men standing over the people laying on the ground as one other person was holding a cashier at gunpoint. One of the guys had a bull like head with horns sticking out on each side of his head, while another man had what appears to be a bag over his head with slits cut out for his eyes and mouth. The three man were going around taking wallets and other valuables from the people lying down completely unaware of us off to the side.
I pulled back as I turned back to the others. "From what I saw, its four people in total. three of them overlooking the people on the ground and one holding a worker at gunpoint. Mina, Kirishima you should go behind the counter and try to get behind them but wait for my signal". The pair acknowledged me before moving along and quietly making their way behind the deli counter, looking for a way to get to the front unoticed.
Momo I need you to make a set of tranquilizer darts to be ready to subdue them in case, Sero you are on capture tape duty once me, Mina, and Kirishima engage them... we just need some sort of distraction for the person at the register...". I pondered trying to come up with an idea until...
"Hey you! whaddya think you're doing?" I shuddered as I peaked around the corner. The bull headed man turned to the opposite direction of where we were and started walking down that direction. Pearing over i noticed the on the opposite side of the store there was guy looking at the shelves with a familiar looking black mini ponytail...
(Yoshi's POV)
How the hell does a store run out of hot sauce? I looked at the shelf, looking for any alternate solutions but sadly there weren't any. I had my earbuds in listening to some classic rock music when I felt a hand firmly grab my shoulder. I turn around and see man looming over me with what looks like a bull's head with horns for a head grab me and yell at me. too bad I couldn't hear him with my music blasting in my ears and shrugged at the man. He grows a look of anger and annoyance before making a gester of taking out one of my earbuds. I complied and pulled out one of my earbuds out before pausing my music.
"Can I help you?" I asked. He gestured for me to look around and then put out his hand expecting me to hand him something. I looked around and noticed people lying on the ground with their hands behind their back, looking to the front i noticed three other people where two were looting the people lying down and one person making a cashier empty out the front registers. "You can start by giving up your phone and wallet now" he demanded. 'Play this smart and try not to get anyone hurt, you got this'. I just stared at him with a questioning look as I tilt my head slightly.
"Are you robbing me?" I asked dumbly. The man blinked a couple times and his frown got even worse. "Are you slow or something kid? Yes I'm robbing you! Hand over your stuff or else!" He fumed. 'Get him angry and draw the rest of the villain's attention onto you' I devised. "Hmm, nah I don't think I will, but hey you know who you remind me of?" I asked the man as grabbed something from my shopping basket. He had a look of confusion until I showed him the item I grabbed and quickly morphed into a look of pure absolute rage. I pulled out a milk carton with a cartoonish brown cow that looked like it was laughing. "You look like the face of the milk company 'The Laughing Cow'! Can I get your autograph?" I smiled at him.
(Izumi's POV)
Internally I was screaming at the sight. 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOSHI?! WHY ARE YOU HERE? STOP MAKING HIM MAD! HE'S GONNA BEAT THE EVER LIVING CRAP OUT OF YOU. WHY DOES GOD HATE ME?'. This is not what I needed, ohgodohgodohgod. Pearing over me Sero was watching as he had a hand over his mouth trying to hold in a laugh at the joke from the man. I saw one of the robbers that was grabbing stuff from the people failed to hold it in and started laughing at the joke. "Quiet Juko! If you weren't deemed useful for our getaway I would have knocked you out and leave you here for the heroes to clean up your corpse!" The bull man yelled. He quickly turned back to Yoshi and made a fist. "So you're a funny guy eh? I'll show you who's laughing once I'm done turning you int-" He never finished as Yoshi splashed milk onto the guy.
'AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' my inner thoughts were screaming
(Yoshi's POV)
"You seemed like you needed to chill out, did you know that milk can help calm one's nerves and relieve strees?" I smiled at the man as i closed the lid of the milk container and placed it back into my basket. The man was basically seething with rage as I could hear his teeth behind grinded against each other and his face was turning red. His buddy from earlier started laughing uncontrollably. 'If only Emi could see me now, she would be proud'.
"UGHHH THAT'S IT, THE HEROES ARE GONNA A MOP CLEANING YOU UP ONCE I BEAT YOU TO A PULP". He reeled back a giant fist and brought it down on me.
'too easy' I grinned.
I caught the giant hand with my right arm and smirked at the hot head giant. A orange light enveloped my right arm as it traveled up my shoulder and around to my other arm before letting my left hand glow the same bright color as my other arm.
"Big mistake you made here Bessie, you know the old saying 'What goes around, comes around'? Well you about to find out" I said as I cocked back my left arm and thrusted forward into him. The punch connected with his stomach before the man was sent flying across the store and crashing into a shelf holding bread.
YOSHI REYES
QUIRK: "DOUBLE EDGE'
Yoshi is able to absorb physical and kinetic energy thrown at him and can use the energy he absorbs to either enhance his body or release it in powerful attacks.
Knocked out and passed out was the bull man as he laid against the broken shelf of the store as I turned to focus on the rest of his partners in crime as they had looks of shock now seeing the muscles of their group got knocked in one punch. I took one step forward and saw the man holding the cashier hostage throw him to the side as he aimed his gun at me. The other two villains noticed the other man's reaction and regained focus back onto me, each of them going into a fighting stance and eyeing me cautiously. "Y-you little shit! Stay back, stay away from us" One of the villains said as he out stretched his arm towards me. 'Can't risk anything else if I don't know whats his quirk'. I thought as I stopped in place. Then a all too familiar voice cried out.
"NOW"
(Izumi's POV)
I watched as the buff bull headed man crashed into the wall next to us as I stared in surprise at what occured. turning back around I saw Yoshi then turn back to the other robbers still up as they grew looks of shock and fear as they realized as well that their comrade was taken down easily. "Y-you little shit! Stay back, stay away from us" one of the villains called out as he stretched out his arm towards him cause Yoshi to stop moving forward. 'He must not want to risk causing any harm to the people around him, we don't know any of the villain's quirks'. Just then I spot Kirishima and Mina by one of the close registers away from where the original spot of the cashier was being held hostage at. I turned around to both Momo and Sero who regained focus and were ready to move on my command. Momo had a tranquilizer darts ready as she loaded one into a blowdart tube. I looked back towards Kiri and Mina and nodded at them as they nodded back, ready to move as well. I breathed in a frest breath of air.
"NOW"
Green lightning encased my body as I sprung forward, Momo stood up and shot a dart at the man's neck who was laughing earlier and he put a hand against his side feeling something pierce his neck as he began to wobble around a bit, Sero following up and shot out tape to wrap around him and subdue the tranquilized man. Mina and Kirishima had sprung out and rushed the man with the gun. Mina throwing a wad of acid at the man's hand causing him to drop the pistol as Kirishima rushed forward before hardening a fist and sucker punching the man in the mouth. The man dropped to the floor out cold soon after.
All the left was the man with his hand stretched towards Yoshi, I quickly ran at the man readying a detroit smash as he quickly started turning his arm towards me. Too bad I was faster. "DETROIT SMASH" I yelled as my fist connected with the side of his him in the head and sent him skidding across the store floor until he hit the side of one of the aisle shelves.
"Everyone alright?" I called out.
"We're good over here" Kirishima called out.
"Both guys over here subdued and taped up" Sero called as I saw he wrapped up the man that momo tranquilized.
"The large man over here is secured" Momo replied as she stood by the man that Yoshi took out earlier.
I sighed in relief as the villains are taken down and no one was hurt.
"Well if it aint Greenie herself"
The Cops came soon after and subdued the villains before loading them into the police van. After each of us giving a statement and showing our provisional licenses the cops thanked our efforts in protecting the people before checking the scene around them and gathering any other information they need.
"Fancy seeing you again so soon Greenie". I heard behind me. Hearing the familiar voice I turned around to meet the same man who gave me a ride this morning and helped save a grocery store full of people.
"Reyes! It's you again, what are you doing here?" I asked, little bit anxious meeting him sooner than expected.
"Oh you know buying food for dinner and ... taking down villains. typical hero stuff" He replied with a smile.
"Just buying some groceries for my dorm and- wait hold on. What were you thinking earlier? getting the big guy with horns all riled up for? You could've gotten hurt or something" I told him.
He scoffed and just waved it off "I knew he was gonna go for me if I made him angry enough, I needed all their focus on me instead of the civilians. It's better if they all had their attention on me plus it worked out in the end when you jumped out and took care of the rest"
"But still are you alright? he land a hit on you didn't he? what about your arm he hit you on"
I asked concerned and checking for any injuries. "Chill out greenie I'm fine, he didn't even lay a scratch on me. See?" He showed me his right arm where the man had tried clobbering him on and revealed no marks, no signs of any damage, no bruised skin, nothing. "Your quirk... I saw your arms glow a bright color when he hit you and before you punched him back. If you don't mind me asking but whats your quirk? I-If it's not too much to ask" I asked shyly.
"No it's fine really, if you must know my quirk is called "Double Edge" it allows me to absorb energy in which i can use to enhance my body or dish it back out in attacks at enemies. It's pretty neat quirk as lot of times attacks on me don't really have that much effect on me and leave any type of marks." He explained. 'Such a versatile quirk, He can absorb physical attacks like fatgum meaning he can absorb kinetic energy but is limited to only kinetic energy or other energies as well? like electric energy, thermal energy, what if he gets hit with a fire attack or a energy attack like aoyoma muttermuttermutter..."
"Oyy, Earth to greenie" a hand waving in front of my face broke me out of my muttering trance as I stared up at Yoshi before blushing and looking down.
"S-Sorry, I have a bad habit of muttering a lot and I just really am interested in quirks! I just got super into knowing about your quirk and all" I told him.
"It's fine really, you just really like talking about quirks I can guess right?" He said and I nodded in reply.
"Plus" I looked up at him. "I think its kinda cute how you look when you mumble" He said as he gaved me a cheeky smile.
'Brain. Function. negative. shutting down' my face heated up as i felt steam coming out of my ears and I just looked down in embarassement.
"Izumi.." I muttered.
"What's that?" he asked
"Izumi... Izumi Midoriya is my name. You kept calling me greenie and I realized i never told you my name this morning after you gave me a ride" I explained. I looked up and saw his eyes widen in surprise before he looked away and rubbed the back of his neck.
"O-Oh um well nice to finally know your name greenie. I-I mean Midoriya" He said and I smiled before realizing something. "Oh I almost forgot I still have your jacket from this morning! oh shoot if I had it with me I could have given it to you"
"Oh that, please it's no big deal really, but hey since we actually met up again miraculously, how about I give you my phone number and we can schedule to meet another time? you could give it to me then" He proposed.
"No no thats a great idea, I can let you know the next time I'm free and we can meet up somewhere" I said as I shyly scratched my head.
"Great! it's a date then"... I stopped scratching my head and looked at him, 'd-d-d-d-d-dd-DATE?'. He just smiled at me as my brain once again stopped functioning at the word date.
"Izumi-chan!" I heard my name called out as I slowly turned my head. Moving in was the rest of Class 1-A grocery store retrieval team as the other four walked up to me.
"There you are! we been looking- oh hello there" Mina said now noticing another guy was present. "You're the one who punched the Bull headed fellow and I see you talking to my friend here. What's your name?"
"I'm Yoshi Reyes, and you must be Izumi's... classmates? Am I right?" He answered. "Yoshi you say? You wouldn't happen to be the same guy that gave our little green cinnamon bun a ride to school are you?" Mina questioned as I now realized what she was asking Yoshi. 'Oh no' i thought.
"Oh she told you guys? Yeah I heard she was gonna be late for school if she didn't have a way other than the train so I offered to help her out" He answered. I looked over to Mina as I see her face lit up like a neon sign. As soon as he answered he took out his phone and looked at it for second before looking back at us.
"Sorry I have to take this, it will be a quick sec" he told us before turning around and answering the phone walking away. Mina then turned back to me as she then began to smirk.
"Well he's a cutie. Nice catch Izumi" Mina gave me a thumbs up as I began to blush again.
"Mina we aren't dating! please stop it. Momo help me out here" I turned to the raven haired girl for support. "Well I mean... You two definitely would look good together" she said shyly.
"Plus did you see the way he punch out that man earlier! that was so manly, he looks strong" Kirishima added. "Not you too Kiri!".
"Plus he's kinda seem like the funny type so you lucky enough to have a guy make you laugh" Sero joined in. "Sero!" I complained. the four of them just stood there and looked at each other before looking back at me and giving me a thumbs up.
"We approve" they said in unison. I sighed in defeat as I knew I couldn't argue with them any longer. "Please guys just don't make this anymore awkward and ask him weird questions" I pleaded as Momo rubbed my back.
By then, Yoshi returned back after finishing his phone call and sighed. "Well looks like I have to get going, my guardian wants me back home soon after getting informed by the police that I was involved today" He informed us before taking out a piece of paper and writing something down on it and handing it to me. "Here you go. Hope to hear from you soon Izumi. I'll catch you another time" He said as he picked up his bag of groceries and walked away. Soon after I heard the familiar sound of a motorcycle engine come to life and leave.
I stared down at the piece of paper he gave me and saw that he had written down his phone number on it and gave it
'(XXX)-(XXX)-(XXXX) -Yoshi!'
... "Are you sure, you're not gonna go out with him"
'Please god just strike me down'...
