Sam peaked inside the classroom and found no one there. She smiled. She subtly closed the door behind her and placed her bag beside it.
She doesn't want to tell anyone about her hobby. Not yet, anyway. If she tells anyone, her parents will get the news, one way or another, and she'd be shipped off to attend a music boarding school.
She took a violin from its stands and gently played the strings to see if it was tuned, and to her delight, it was.
She started to play a melody, a soft tune she heard when she was young. Despite her love for rock and metal music, she was still attracted to the magical strings of the violin. It was like a de-stress to her, a way to let go of the pent-up anger she had of her parents without blabbering to her friends until their ears fell off.
Sam finished, feeling lighter than usual and a beautiful smile on her face. But her moment of peace was replaced when she heard clapping. "Wow!" her audience exclaimed, and her voice was sickly familiar.
She turned around and her face contorted in a look of fear as her purple eyes landed on the smiling blonde beside the doorway. "That was beautiful!" exclaimed Star.
