Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Grim Reaper and Supersoldier. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
Most of the orphanage was known to Gabriel. He knew enough about them to predict what they would say, what each person would do at the moment. That much was known to him, it was easily something that he was scared of.
Then there was HER, the one person he couldn't accurately pin down. An enigma to which he couldn't fathom no matter what. Something that interested him more than anything.
"Who's that?" Gabriel questioned, his head tilting to the side as he blinked.
"You mean Riela?" Gabriel heard from one of the staff and was greeted by a nod. "Nobody really knows, dear. Why don't you introduce yourself?" Gabriel heard to which he nodded.
He liked new people. New people were interesting. They weren't boring, Gabriel didn't know her… And that interested him more than anything else.
He slowly walked across the room, taking time only to pause and look around. Not much had changed, this place was weird. Gabriel still called it home despite that, because it was home to him. He had no idea why he wouldn't call it home or something similar.
"Hi!" Gabriel said as he looked at the girl with interest. "I'm Gabriel, what's your name?" Gabriel asked before blinking.
"Riela…" The girl said before frowning. "GO AWAY, YOUR GOING TO BULLY ME." Riela hissed before Gabriel blinked.
"Why?" Gabriel asked, his head tilting again as he slightly raised a eyebrow. "Why would someone bully you?" Gabriel asked, the innocence in his voice something only a child like him could conjure up.
"Because of my hair!" Riela hissed as she tried to tug at the grey locks. "Everyone says it weird and makes fun of me. Your going to say it looks silly." Riela said to which Gabriel blinked.
"It looks cool." Gabriel said to which Riela blinked in shock. "You look like a princess. I thought those people are cool, right?" Gabriel asked as Riela turned to him with interest in her eyes.
"You… Don't think it's dumb?" Riela asked, the shock in her voice making her seem younger then she was.
"Nobody else here has sliver hair." Gabriel said and smiled. "I think it makes you look cool! You look really tough because of it!" Gabriel said to which Riela could only blush.
Nobody had said that about her besides the staff. Everyone seemed to either think it was weird because nobody else had it… Or that it was stupid, it wasn't fair. She didn't ask for hair like that.
"Do you want me to go away?" Gabriel asked while tilting his head. "I came over because I haven't seen you before. I like new people, their just friends you haven't made yet." Gabriel said while Riela shook her head.
"You can s-stay…" Riela said to which Gabriel sat down in front of her. "Nobody said my hair is nice besides the doctors." Riela said as Gabriel hummed.
"Then their stupid." Riela heard from Gabriel as he smirked, his teeth sparkling from too much toothpaste. "You stand out! Their just jealous your so cool because of that!" Gabriel said with a smile.
Riela blushed some more and pushed the boy over. Gabriel blinked as he hit the ground and turned to see Riela blushing in shock.
"I…" Riela said before quieting down. "Thank you." Riela said while smirking to herself as Gabriel hummed and started to sit up.
"Anyway, I'm Gabriel." Gabriel said, jabbing a thumb into his chest at the moment. "And your Riela. That's a cool name, your friends must…" Gabriel stated to say before Riela looked away.
This annoyed the young boy. Did she not have friends? Were the people here THAT rude that they didn't even want to hang out with her? Why were the people here so stupid? Did they believe she was that weird?
Then they were missing out! Gabriel didn't care what those people thought, he knew a good friend when he saw when.
"Ri." Gabriel said and blinked. "Or Rie… Or Rie-Rie!" Gabriel said to which Riela blinked with confusion.
"I gave you a nickname!" Gabriel said before pointing a finger at himself. "That's what friends do so they don't forget each other. Your my friend, now you give me a nickname so you don't forget it." Gabriel said to which Riela could only blink at.
This was NOT what she expected at all. Then again? She didn't really know what to expect.
"Hmm…" Riela said as Gabriel blinked once again.
He heard a lot of people used to blink, but he did it all the time. Maybe he was just that much cooler.
"Gabe." Riela said and then smiled again. "Or Gabby! I like Gabby!" Riela said to which Gabriel pouted.
"Gabby is silly!" Gabriel said as Riela smiled. "Your being teasy." Gabriel said as Riela smiled.
"No, Gabby because you talk a lot." Riela said and grabbed at Gabriel's cheeks. "And because you smile a lot. Gabby!" Riela said with a giant smile.
Gabriel tried to pout and swat at Riela who only giggled. He felt blood rush to his cheeks.
"That's not funny!" Gabriel said and pulled away while rubbing at his face. "Your just saying that to mess with me, aren't you?" Gabriel asked only to get a smile from Riela who said nothing at the moment.
"Maybe?" Riela said to which Gabriel crossed his arms. "Your silly when your mad." Riela said and blinked.
"And your funny when your being silly." Gabriel responded and rubbed at his face. "Gabby… Fine, but don't tell anyone. I don't want them making fun of me. People already do, they say I spend too long trying to understand stuff they don't understand, it's so stupid." Gabriel said and frowned with annoyance despite himself.
He looked at Riela and realized he couldn't find himself being mad. He liked hanging out with this girl, she was nice. She didn't seem upset by how he kept looking at her weird.
He questioned why people thought he looked weird. Was it because he was too curious? Maybe that was it, he couldn't help it. Gabriel liked figuring things out. It made him feel smarter when he did that. He linked being smarter like that.
"Pinkie promise?" Riela said to which Gabriel blinked at before. "You don't know what a pinkie promise is?" Riela said to which Gabriel hummed and nodded despite himself.
Then again? He could only ponder what happened next. He looked at Riela's finger she held up.
"Isn't that when you get something in your eye?" Gabriel said only for Riela to roll her eyes and flick him on the head with annoyance.
"That's pink eye, dummy!" Riela said as Gabriel rubbed at his head with annoyance. "Pinkie promise, ok?" Riela said to which Gabriel nodded with interest.
