Every time Rick is done with his chores, he would visit you in your farm to help you with your chickens which you find sweet. This time you were able to finish tending to the farm early thanks to Rick's help. "Hey thank you so much for the help, I don't know how to repay you, you've done so much for me already", "You really wanted to repay me?" Rick chuckled. You nodded "I can't sleep knowing I owe someone a lot!" Rick moved closer to you, very close that he leaned his forehead against yours. Your eyes widen and blushed with how close you two are. "W-what exactly do you want me to repay you?" you managed to gulp. Rick smirked "How about…" he said slowly antagonizing you, "About what?" you said impatiently, with your heart racing and thinking if he'll ask for a kiss or something else. "How about…. You treat me to lunch?" He beamed and laughed at your disappointed reaction. "What's with the long face?" He laughed while wrapping one of his arms around your neck, ruffling your hair. "Y-you didn't have to scare me like that!" You complained trying to pry him off.
"You're cute when you're getting all flustered", he smiled. Your stomach starts to rumble which made you hurry in putting the shipment into the bin for Zack to collect. "Come on hurry! I'm starving" you nudged Rick as he was carefully placing each egg "Tch. I'll race you to the Inn then!" you said as you went ahead already, with Rick trailing behind chuckling. You two had a good lunch as you talked about your lives, Rick asked you about your life back in the city while he told you stories about his childhood and his family. Ran the bartender and Dudley, her dad who owns the inn happily watched you two talk like a couple. After lunch, Rick walked you back home, "We should do this again sometime", "Y-yeah I like that", you smiled back warmly when suddenly he pecked you on your cheek. Eyes widened, you looked at him bewildered and blushing, as he laughed at your state he began to walk back to his farm. You touched the cheek which he kissed and went back inside your house, skipping like a happy kid.
Back in the Inn, Karen, the girl who gave you free grass seeds before when you were broke walked in, greeting Ran. "Hey Karen! What took you so long? It's been a while since you came here!" Karen rolled her eyes "You would not believe this Ran, they actually grounded me for sneaking a bottle of dad's wine and giving it to Rick! They didn't even let me out for 2 weeks, they said it was some sort of vintage they can't get anymore" she plopped down on her seat as Ran poured her some whiskey and slid it over the counter to her. "You would not believe what me and my dad just saw earlier" Karen looked at Ran while taking a sip from her whiskey glass. "Rick and that new farmer girl is dating!" Karen almost spit out the whiskey in surprise and listened intently to Ran "They ate lunch here together earlier, and if you only see it with your own eyesss my goood they're teasing each other like couples, they're actually cute! I'm envious, I wish me and Cliff can be like that", Karen took a sharp inhale "You wish you two were like that, you're dad's gonna kill you if they even see you hold hands with him". She drank the whiskey in one gulp and stood from her seat "Are you ok Karen? You're acting weird", Ran stated before she can get out of the inn. "I just..need a little fresh air, I'm going to the beach", "Is it because of Rick? I thought you were over him already?" , "Shut up Ran, you don't know anything" Karen snapped as she went out of the inn.
