Matt drove his truck closely behind Stefan's as they traveled on the road. With his trustee friend by his side he expected the ride to be fun. But so far it was the complete opposite. Anytime he tried speaking to Caroline she would give him short and simple responses all while staring down at her notebook. He started growing annoyed from it but also curious about what she had been writing all this time.
Matt sighed. "Caroline, what are you writing?"
He used his right hand to lower the book away from her face. She smacked her lips at his interruption and looked to him
"I'm taking some notes." She said dryly.
Matt furrowed his brows. "On what?"
Caroline looked back at the notebook. "Bonnie." She said innocently.
Matt was still confused. "Bonnie? For what?"
Caroline was hesitant. She didn't know if it would be a good idea or not to tell Matt. This entire plan started of with just her and Elena. Then soon came Stefan. With Matt on their side, it could increase their odds. Caroline couldn't take failure. Getting Bonnie and Damon together would be her greatest accomplishment.
Caroline turned in her seat to face Matt.
"I'm making a plan for her and Damon. It'll give them a little push so they can confess their feelings for each other. Promise you won't tell her!" She said excitedly.
Matt looked horrified. "Bonnie and Damon?"
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Uh, yeah. We have to get them together."
Matt "Don't they hate each other? As in they'd kill each other if given the opportunity?"
Caroline pushed away his words. "That was in the past."
Matt looked at her skeptically. "And somehow they're different now?"
Caroline grinned. "Of course. People change."
Matt shook his head. "Caroline, I don't think you should intervene."
Caroline frowned. "Why?"
Matt blankly stared. "Care, c'mon."
Caroline groaned and slouched in her seat.
"They need my help." She whined.
Matt chuckled at the sight of her pouting. "No they don't. You should let them handle things like this on their own."
Caroline knew he was right but she really wanted to help.
"But Bonnie is my best friend and I'd do anything to make her happy." She contested.
Matt raised a brow. "Do you really think Bonnie is going to be happy that you devised some plan to set her up with Damon?"
Caroline looked unfazed.
"Yes." She said confidently.
Matt huffed. "Caroline, if she wants a relationship with Damon, she'd do it on her own terms."
Caroline looked disappointed. "Fine, okay. You're right. I'll tell Stefan and Elena to call it off."
Matt's eyes widened. "Stefan and Elena are involved?"
Caroline shook her head. "Duh, who else would help me?"
Matt chuckled again. "You're crazy for this."
"I'm dedicated." She corrected.
Matt grinned "What are the plans when we get to the cabin?"
Caroline's face lit up. "You're gonna help set up Bonnie and Damon!?"
Matt gave her a stern look. "No way."
Caroline then went back to pouting.
Ding!
Caroline pulled out her phone and checked the notification.
"Bonnie texted me." She smiled.
Matt grinned. "What did she say?"
Caroline looked down at her phone.
"She said that she beat Damon in a game of chess. He thinks that she cheated so now he won't shut up about it. She wants us all to celebrate by drinking his bottle of bourbon." She read then laughed.
Matt gave her cheeky smile. "They're having fun."
Caroline nodded. "I wish we were there to see it."
Matt snickered. "The look on Damon's face must be priceless."
