Life in the Bakugou household was going well. Izuku was messing around with his seventh Quirk Analysis notebook. Katsuki was using a new home gym that had been installed so that they wouldn't need to use the beach. Hitoshi was buying another Ventriloquist mask to 'decorate'. Then there was a knock at the door.
Mitsuki answered the door, only to be met by a sorrowful Miss Kuro. Mitsuki was quick to invite her inside before the two began talking. It wasn't long before the three boys were called into Mitsuki's office to meet with Miss Kuro.
"I'm sorry to say, but Hisashi had passed away due to injuries sustained from a structural collapse in the main office building." she broke the ice.
The three boys were shocked. Izuku's eyes began tearing up, before turning into a full tidal wave of tears. Katsuki just sat frozen as his brain processed the information; 'how could someone with a Quirk so powerful die so easily?' he thought. Hitoshi was the least hit, only really knowing Hisashi from a small set of calls when he was first adopted by Mitsuki, but he was still saddened that someone who had helped him gain a better life was now dead.
"What Happened?" Izuku asked between tears. Miss Kuro took a deep breath before speaking. "A few days ago there was a hero fight in the area and the building ended up collapsing. It took several hours to pull Hisashi out as he didn't want to reveal his Quirk"- She knew about Afo as well -"He was under intensive surgery too repair the damages he had sustained. Sadly he had passed away while in intensive care, I'm sorry I have to be the bearer of bad news." Miss Kuro bowed her head at the end.
Izuku just walked close to her and hugged her. No words were spoken as the group allowed silence to give respect to Hisashi. When it was broken Izuku wiped his tear stained face.
Miss Kuro would stay for a few days to sort some things out with Hisashi's will.
When it had been finalized it read as followed. There was a sizable fortune that Izuku would gain access to when he turned 18 but would be under Mitsuki's watch until then. Mitsuki herself would be recieving the remaining years of cheques as a single collective cheque. Katsuki and Hitoshi both had small amounts of money they would gain access to when they turned 18 as well. His business overseas would be turned over to the most eligible candidate within the company. Last of all would be the movement of all his possessions into the Bakugou household for what Izuku may choose to do with.
Miss Kuro left Mitsuki with her own personal card in case there was any problem she would need assistance with. She left Katsuki and Hitoshi with small notes relating to their inheritance. And she left Izuku with not just his own note, but a small vial that glowed like the infused items he made.
Then she left the house, but not for the last time.
Sometime later Katsuki and Hitoshi would find Izuku searching through various articles on Quirk law and Heroics. Then he turned to them, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "Kacchan, Hito, I have an idea.". The two brothers starred at him before turning to one another, then starring back at Izuku.
It was asinine, yet also brilliant. Vigilantism is the act of using one's Quirk against a criminal without a Hero License. Neither Katsuki nor Hitoshi had a Quirk, just some powerful support gear. Izuku's Quirk could be guarded with some special tools (smokebombs, flashbangs, etc). All they had to do was make some disguise, go out, and take out some low time criminals.
Izuku tore up anything he could get from the beach and built what what be considered a necessary for any vigilante. Katsuki was already quite fit fue to Izuku's training regiment for the Blast Gauntlets but both Izuku and Hitoshi themselves would need some work.
When everything was ready they each had boxy jackets and pants with layers of protective materials sewn within. Izuku modified a motorcycle helmet with a black lense and numerous little gadgets which he wore to cover his head. Hitoshi had his Puppet Mask on with his hair turned black by one of Izuku's Quirks. Katsuki wore a mouth guard with some built in tech and a set of goggles with built in ear protection while his hair was turned a fiery orange by the same Quirk.
They were about to leave for their first mission when Mitsuki caught them. She glared at them for a second, looking them up and down, then she gave them a warning. "I know I probably can't stop you boys from doing this, but if any of you die I'm clawing your soul out of hell for my own form of punishment." she spoke with great anger.
The boys nodded, scared more of their mother/auntie than any criminal they might run into.
It became clockwork as the three boys would leave the house every third day and patrolled different sections of the city each night.
They had gained a reputation as a trio of strange vigilantes, mostly due to limited usage of a Quirk from any of them.
Then they noticed something interesting. A pair of figures with far less gear were walking around the night as vigilantes near their patrol routes. The first one had a cheap full head motorcycle helmet and little armour while fighting with a wooden baseball bat. The second one had a similar helmet and armour, the difference being their usage of a taser for a weapon.
It didn't take long for Izuku to track them down and the trio prepared for what may be a violent encounter.
Only it wasn't.
"Holy Crap, you guys are that blank trio that everyone talks about." the shorter one said. The taller one shook his friends shoulders before turning to the trio. "Sorry about him, he likes to talk a lot." he said while holding his hands up in surrender. "I told you they were guys, just like us." the smaller one kept going.
The trio could only stare at the pair before Izuku spoke up. "Do.. Do you guys have a more private place where we can talk?". The taller one nodded, the shorter one spoke. "Yeah, we've got the house." he was shaken once more by his partner for that.
So the trio followed the new pair of vigilantes (?) to a run down building in the much wilder part of the city. When they got deep enough the shorter one removed his helmet, a set of yellow-blonde hair was freed alongside a set of orange eyes. The taller one followed suite with black hair and black eyes alongside a sharp chin.
"So, what is it you guys wanted to talk about?" the blonde one asked. "Hold one, we took off our masks, so why don't you guys do the same?" the black haired one piped up. Izuku nodded before taking off his helmet, snickering at the victorious look on the blonde's face while the black haired one just sighed. Katsuki and Hitoshi followed suite as they now all stood in the room, no one disguised.
Izuku cleared his throat before speaking; "Lets introduce one another, then we can talk.". "Ok, the name's Denki Kaminari and this guy is Hanta Sero." Denki introduced them both. "Alright, my name is Izuku Midoriya and with me are Katsuki and Hitoshi Bakugou.". Both guys nodded while Katsuki just shook his head.
"Why did you guys start going out as vigilantes?" Izuku started. "Well, we saw you guys a couple weeks ago and thought that it was a good way to be heroes." Denki answered. "So, why are you guys vigilantes?" Sero asked back. "Cause Deku had a crazy idea and we stuck with it." Katsuki chimed in. Both boys seemed confused before Hitoshi pointed at Izuku and said; "That's Deku, it's a nickname.".
The two nodded before Izuku spoke up again. "So, you guys live here?" he was looking all around the run down building. Before Sero could clamp Denki's mouth shut he answered; "Yep.". Katsuki laughed at Sero's misfortune while Hitoshi put his mask back on; "I'm going to check our surroundings, make sure it's safe for what I think you're about to do.".
With that he walked off; leaving a confused pair of boys, a Bakugou stuck in realization, and a smirking Izuku.
"Would you two like to get better equipment?" he asked, seemingly innocent. Both boys nodded. "Alright, meet us at Takoba beach on Saturday and prepare yourselves." with that Izuku put his helmet on and left, Bakugo not far behind him.
"You sure they'll accept Deku?". "Of course, you saw the look in their eyes, they want to be heroes and I have the means to improve their chances out here.". "Let's just hope they don't rat you out for their secret." . "Don't worry, they won't." he said as Hitoshi rejoined them.
To Katsuki's surprise they turned up at the beach on Saturday. Their eyes eager for the surprise that would be given to them. Izuku just smiled before pulling out a notebook and interviewing them on what they would like for gear.
Katsuki just groaned before heading to a more secluded part of the beach with his Blast Gauntlets. He didn't realise Izuku was following him withr he two boys in tow. He fired it off numerous times, not knowing that Izuku had to hold their jaws up to keep them from hitting the ground.
He only realised he had been seen using it was when he turned to find a smiling Izuku and the pair of boys with stars in their eyes. He just watched as Izuku used it all as a sales pitch to the duo.
It was going to be a long week.
The pictured evidence of their reaction to Izuku actually having a Quirk would forever by saved in a small stage that Katsuki would keep in the back of his closet.
After some time Izuku managed to get then equipped eith upgrades putting their old gear through a similar process as their own gear. He had given Denki a modified taser (he called it the Stun Gun) and a pair of bracelets with small outcrops and nozzles filled with electrified wires (The Shock Bracelets). Sero had forgone his old bat for a pair of gauntlets filled with infused fabric (The Tape Gauntlets) and a pair of infused boots with simple levitation (The Boots).
It wasn't long before they were patrolling in organized pairs with Izuku directing them from a broad. They had started getting a name for themselves as well, The Band they called them.
No vigilante/s had just one name so they could live with that.
Soon their patrols came across something interesting.
They saw the boy defending his friend, some girl with pink skin and hair, with nothing more than his body from a pair of muggers. His defense didn't last long as one mugger used a paralysis Quirk to freeze him in place while the other went for his friend.
It was at this time that the group jumped in. Sero and Denki being first with a combination of fabric and taser gun being used to disable the paralysis one. Katsuki was next up as he jumped down and landed right on the other mugger with his shoulder out. Neither mugger had enough time to react before consciousness left them.
The pair just looked in awe as Izuku and Hitoshi came down with a set of clips to cuff the muggers. They heard he boy mutter out something along the line of "Manly" as his friend tried to get him moving. checked on the pair before instructing the girl to call the cops and stay there. The girl nodded as the boys returned to the rooftops and continued on patrol.
They were unaware of the awe in the boy's face as he looked at their disappearing forms.
It was barely a week when they would see he boy again. This time he had a Crimson Riot mask on his face and a baggy hoodie. They were quick to catch the boy before he rushed towards the sound of distress. Izuku had the others go after who was in trouble while he intervened for the boy. He could see the looks behind his friend's disguises as they saw him eyeing the boy.
When Izuku dropped down in front of him, the boy stopped rather quickly. "So, you followed our modo?" was the first words out of his mouth as the boy just nodded.
"Well I have an offer for you."
It barely took much to get the boy, Kirishima was his name, to join the others on the beach. He was in awe at Katsuki's Blast Gauntlets and the many other tools that Izuku had made from the bits and pieces littered around the beach. He was the most enthusiastic of any of them as Izuku got him prepped for a set of gear to his request.
(He was actually calm when Izuku's Quirk was revealed to him, strangely enough).
Rather than the armoured jackets that the rest of them wore he had a sort of armoured vest with many infusions that would serve as a heavy defense. Izuku had been pushing the limit of Infusion as he created the vest (especially the shock absorption Quirk he infused in there), so when they tested just how strong it was with a sledgehammer he was a but worried.
That worry was gone when the sledge (being driven by Katsuki with all his might) lost all momentum the moment it hit the vest while Kirishima was wearing it. Izuku was quick to dub his creation the Unmovable Vest and armed Kirishima with a pair of spiky Gauntlets which Kirishima actually named; The Rock Gauntlets.
Of course this sparked a conversation. "We could name the stuff you made us?" Denki asked. "Yes, I just gave them a decent title that says what it can do." Izuku rubbed the back of his neck with embarrassment.
Though no one renamed any of the stuff Izuku made for them, they would definitely get to name any stuff he made for them personally.
Izuku sat at the beach, deep in thought as he looked down at his notebook. There was a list of things he needed that went as followed.
-Funds
-Gear for mobility (grappling hook?)
-Information Network
-More parts for making items
-Proper home for Sero and Denki
-A doctor who would not rat them out.
His rapidly growing collection of vigilantes had him running low on supplies that were available on the beach. He looked down at his notebook before another idea clicked. He's going to need to get back home and set up an anonymous account (and get a license for what he's about to do). He could do it all online, and it pays well enough to fund their growing collection of vigilantes.
After all, people pay top dollars for quality Quirk analysis. And if no one knows that he's a guy then there will be fair pay.
He had noticed some new Analyst on the forums. A fast riser was making big online with extremely detailed analysis. They were doing any sort of job that didn't involve the Quirks of heroes or being there in person. They were known for being polite and professional, with a pension for all Quirks being treated equally.
An insistence on being anonymous was also present, but he could understand that. Even if it was a slight problem for his plans.
This new analyst was almost perfect for helping his sister with her newly developed Quirk. The Quirk had a tantrum when it first manifested, his sister stopped sleeping in the dark after that. Any specialist they had gone to was stumped with how to even get this Quirk to work properly. Dark Shadow was a becoming a problem for his sister, even if it didn't mean to. So he hopes he could get the Analyst in person to help his sister.
He calmly got up from his computer, rubbing his eyes and running a hand through his black hair as he did so. He walked out of his room and to down the hall before coming to another room. As he pushed the door open he saw his sister; she was hugging her knees while a small bird made of shadows harrassed her.
Tokoyami just pointed a glared at the troublemaker before taking a seat next to his sister. "I found someone who might help us, the issue is that they don't like meeting in person." he started. "Why?" was her only question. "Probably just being cautious, they might be more understanding if we explain why we need them.". His sister just nodded before the shadow bird was back at it.
"What, you trying to get rid of me?" it spoke in a snarky voice. Tokoyami just stared at it before sighing. "No Dark Shadow, just trying to find someone who won't call you a villainous Quirk." he calmly explained. The Quirk just crossed its arms(?) and huffed.
Tokoyami sighed, it was going to take a lot to get this analyst to help.
It's going to take a lot to convince people that Dark Shadow isn't a villainous Quirk.
He just sighed before heading out of the room and back to his room. He cracked his knuckles before typing a message to the new Analyst. After that was finished he closed the tabs... and entered a pin on one of his folders. The computer turned dark for a second before he was greeted by the familiar sight of the underground's network. Tokoyami was done for the day, it was time for Shadow to get back to work.
He we go. Denki and Sero are Homeless but doing well. Kirishima was doing well before. Prepare to see Tokoyami soon.
Hope you all have a good day.
