Two Days Later(Underground Facility)
Hisashi let out a frustrated sigh "You knew damn well that was experimental." He jerked wires off his son without compassion, enjoying the grimaces "But went ahead and used it anyway and for what?" He gave Izuku a sly grin "To save a pretty girl~" he teased, helping his son off the table
A light blush adorned Izuku's cheeks before huffing "She wasn't the only one there."
Hisashi's grin widened "Ah but she was the reason you noticed."
Refusing to rise to the bait Izuku ignored his father while he stood on his two feet once more. There had been longer lasting damage than he thought. Though he attributed this to having low energy in the first place. There was no real way to recharge his system outside of rest. Usually after a normal nights sleep he'd be back to one hundred percent capacity, but since he nearly fried his body he needed more time to recharge. The HardLight was using energy to repair itself alongside its host. As of right now he was at fifty percent and stiff as a board being stuck to a table for the past two days.'
Hisashi wiped the grin off his face before giving a piercing glare "You're lucky that I convinced your mother that it was just a small issue and you only needed rest." He whacked the upside of his son's head
"Ow!"
"As it is you'll need to rest more, and by tomorrow you'll be back to perfect condition." Hisashi shook his head and walked over to the monitor that showed Izuku's internals "You were lucky that your quirk decided to make a buffer on the fly otherwise you would've fried yourself completely and most likely be in a coma for who knows how long."
Izuku looked down at his feet in frustration, clenching his fists together "I just chose the best course of action…" He felt a comforting hand on his shoulder and shifted his gaze to meet his father's understanding eyes
"I know that my son." Hisashi chuckled "But there is always another way. While you may have saved them, you left yourself vulnerable and with them being injured wouldn't have helped matters." Hisashi made sure Izuku was looking at him "What if the enemy was still in fighting condition? Not only would the others be injured, they would have to try and protect you while protecting themselves and other civilians." He saw Izuku's eyes widened, "You must always take in the bigger picture." He patted his son's shoulder and smiled "Now let's go eat. Your mom made Katsudon to celebrate your acceptance into U.A."
Izuku raised an eyebrow "I haven't received any notifications that I've been accepted?"
Hisashi gave his son a blank stare "If you're not accepted into U.A. I'll post my research for the entire world."
. . .
Later That Week
Yui floated around Izuku's head, as he dozed off lazily, before speaking 'The letter should be here any day now right?'
"Uhuh…" Izuku yawned sleepily, his eyes struggling to keep open
'So shouldn't you be hovering by the door?' Yui asked curiously 'I've seen the videos of other students acting as such for their own acceptance letters.'
"Uhuh…" Izuku's eyes fluttered shut as his mumbled reply came through his lips
Yui pouted down at Izuku crossing her arms in a huff 'Stupid Big Brother…"
As he slowly fell asleep Izuku began to see images of his friend Kyoka. Her smile shining through as they listened to the latest album that came out. Her embarrassed reaction upon realizing she was nerding out on music. Her ear jacks poking together while she showed him her costume design. Then it was just her smiling at him with a light pink blush adorning her cheeks she began to lean forward and….
"IZUKUUUUUUU!"
"GAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Launching straight upwards Izuku had latched onto his ceiling while after a short moment later the door to his room slammed open showing a heavily breathing and shaking Inko. After a moment Inko frowned not seeing her son before looking up. She saw the wild look in his eyes as he twitched and gazed down at the sudden movements.
Stifling a giggle Inko calmed herself before asking "What are you doing up there?"
Izuku craning his neck slowly facing Inko gave her a blank stare "I was taking a nap…. And then there was yelling…."
Trying to control her laughter, she held out an envelope in her hand "Well maybe this will convince to come down?"
Izuku looked back at his hands then back to his mother "I don't know… pretty nice up here actually."
Now it was Inko's turn to give him a blank stare before raising an eyebrow "Even if the letter's from U.A.?" She was met with silence
There was quiet creak….. "Uh oh…" His fingers slipped "Damn it…"
. . .
The sound of waves lightly running over the beach head greeted Izuku's ears as he sat above the beach near the boardwalk. The smell of the sea calmed his nerves as he gazed out to the horizon contemplating his acceptance letter.
He let out a sigh before grumbling "All Might needs to learn to keep his mouth shut…."
Flashback
Upon fixing the small holes in his ceiling he sat down in front of his desk and opened the letter. What he didn't expect was to the principal of U.A. greeting him with a smile. After the apparent traditional greeting for accepted students as well revealing the 'Rescue' Point system that was in place. Then his grin got predatory.
"Now on to a more serious matter of your quirk. I heard from a recent new addition to our staff that your quirk is rather unique. One could say it's artificial." Nezu's grin seemed to grow as if he knew what Izuku's reaction would be.
True to form Izuku's face paled considerably, no one was supposed to know. Exceptions were his family and All…. Might….. "Damn loud mouthed idol….."
"So I would like to extend an invitation to our campus." Nezu's grin eased "I understand it is a sensitive topic for you, and that you don't want this information getting out." Nezu's arms opened in a welcoming gesture "I assure you there will be no testing of any sort. Just more of a demonstration, and few questions that I would like answered." Clasping his arms behind his back he continued "I have put a date of your appointment in the envelope. I look forward to meeting you Midoriya."
Flashback End
Continuing his forward gaze at the rolling waves he felt a slight pressure on his shoulder as Yui took her seat. Her gaze held her worry for her brother. It wasn't often that her brother was in a situation that wasn't in his control. Izuku had to admit that it was an unpleasant feeling of being in someone else's palm.
He chuckled quietly "It's a feeling that I'm going to have to be used to sadly." His gaze shifted to Yui, he smiled and placed a small finger on her head and rubbed it softly "It'll be alright Yui, the principal doesn't seem to be a bad racoon...dog...bear...thing…."
U.A. Hero Academy Day Before Classes
Izuku gazed up at the imposing gates of U.A. with excitement clearly written across his face. Despite the situation the sheer aura of the Hero Academy before him lifted his spirits high. Upon arrival he waited in front of the gates waiting for his chaperone to guide to the training grounds. After a few moments the gates let out a hiss and the gates opened revealing a very familiar figure.
"Whoa…." Izuku was star struck as his eyes landed on one of his personal favorite Heroes "Power Loader!"
The revealed hero chuckled lightly with his metallic helmet gleaming in the sun "Hoh oh? You recognize me eh?" He walked forward stuck out a hand in greeting "Nice to meet ya kid. I heard that you had quite the brain in there." He pointed at Izuku's head jokingly "Shame you're becoming a hero. Could've used a mind like yours in the Support Course."
Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "I thought about it once upon a time before my quirk activated."
A chuckle came from Power Loader's helmet "Yeah activated." He chuckled again at Izuku's glower "In any case, I'm here to escort you to Training Ground Beta. Everyone's waiting so let's hop to it." Power Loader turned and gestured for Izuku to follow
Izuku nodded and walked leisurely a step behind Power Loader, his gaze looking across the campus taking in the sights of his future Academia. He noticed a few students and teachers milling around with tasks or perhaps training in mind. He happened to catch a glimpse of a familiar figure from the previous years Sports Festival. His blonde hair and imposing figure was hard to miss as he walked around with a confident smile.
Upon noticing he was being watched he turned and his smile turned into a friendly grin as he waved. Responding in kind he waved with a smile before turning to keep up with Power Loader.
After a few more minutes of gazing he felt a question bubble up "So is it common for students to be present during school break?"
Power Loader let out a chuckle and nodded his head "Who are we to not let students better themselves for their future in Heroics? Even the other courses come in to work on their skills for their future careers." He gestured to all the facilities they were passing "The campus is open for all students to improve themselves. All we ask is a little moderation and keep yourselves from being seriously injured." Power Loader looked back at Izuku with a serious look "Many student careers have ended before they even begin. Even too far for Recovery Girl to heal them."
On that note the trek to the training ground was spent in silence. Izuku contemplated the words of warning from the teacher before him, and began to think of measures to try to avoid an early end to his career. Upon reaching Ground Beta, Power Loader stopped and gestured towards the door of the facility.
"This is my stop, gotta finish prepping for the incoming Support Course." Hey swiped his card for the door to open "And perk up Young Midoriya, it's nothing serious I assure you. Everything discussed here will be completely confidential." With a nod Power Loader walked off with a wave
Izuku watched Power Loader leave before letting out a sigh. He was sure that was the case, yet he still didn't like discussing his abilities. The few times he'd done so it hadn't ended well. There was a reason why his father had to quit working at Vishkar. It wasn't because of the technology… it was because of how they wanted to use it.
Crossing the threshold of the sliding doors he was greeted with the sight of towering mountains of concrete. There was no real rhyme or reason to the madness of the field before him. From what Izuku could gather, it was to simulate a changing degree of height but without the cost of property damage. Walking a bit further in the doors closed behind Izuku and he shifted his gaze around before landing upon a group of familiar individuals.
"Ah Young Midoriya we meet again." All Might, in his muscle form, greeted with his ever present smile
Izuku gave All Might a blank stare that made the pro sweat "For someone who keeps secrets you're surprisingly loose with others…."
All Might coughed into his hand, looking away from Izuku "Admittedly that was a mistake on my part Young Midoriya, but one that needed to be addressed. The individuals here are aware of my predicament. So rest assured you are among trustworthy people."
Shifting his gaze slightly he met the gaze of the one who gave his acceptance letter and bowed respectfully "Pleasure to meet you Principal Nedzu."
Nedzu's grin slightly grew at the respect of the young man before him "Strong and polite too. A rare combination these days." He walked over with a grace one would think a creature of his size would not possess. "I've heard, and seen, a lot about you Young Midoriya. Your performance during the entrance ceremony was quite extraordinary."
Izuku gave a sheepish grin at that "Yeah it was a bit overkill. After a little bit of healthy criticism and self introspection I've found it wasn't the best course of action.
A glint shone in Nedzu's black eyes "Is that so? Why don't you share before we continue. I'm quite curious what the conclusion was."
"I learned that even though it was a powerful move it would leave me vulnerable if the enemy that I had defeated WASN'T finished…" Izuku looked down sadly "It would cause problems for the already hurt heroes nearby having to defend my useless body as well as everything else that is going on."
Towards the back of the teacher group a man with shaggy back hair and tired eyes gazed at Izuku, intently listening to his response. Nodding in acceptance the man was relieved that the young man had learned one of the more important lessons of being a hero that most today still had yet to learn.
Nedzu was silent for a moment before clapping his paws politely "Very well said Young Midoriya. You have possibly learned one of the most important lessons here at this Academia." Clasping his paws once behind his back he took on a more serious tone "Now onto the reason we are here. Your quirk and what it can do."
Izuku grimaced but nodded in understanding "I understand. Ask away and I'll do my best to answer."
Nedzu nodded "Smart boy he is. Making us ask questions upon what we want and not give unnecessary information." Smirking and chuckling internally "I look forward to our little mind games Izuku." He grinned "Very well. How do 'Quirk Cancellers' affect you?"
Izuku gave a shrug "Honestly don't know. Those types of quirks are somewhat rare and the capture equipment doesn't seem to affect me probably because it's not a true 'Quirk'"
Nedzu nodded in understanding "Well we can test that theory today. Shota if you please."
Tiredly walking forward in a slouch, a tall individual scraggly figure approached Izuku with a bored look in his eyes. His scarf hid his mouth as he gazed passively at Izuku who looked at the man with some intrigue as if he recognized him from somewhere.
The man tisked "Damn media outlets. I'm an underground hero for a reason."
Izuku snapped his fingers got a little excited "You're Erasurehead! A Pro-Underground Hero. You're quirk suppresses the 'Quirk Factor' for a period of time. A very handy quirk aside from your renowned Martial Arts skills."
Shota rose an eyebrow in tempered curiosity "Sadly my quirk is known, but I'm surprised you know about other set of skills." his voice drawled out nonchalantly hiding his questioning tone
Izuku sheepishly rubbed the back of his head "Well after seeing you the first time that night I did a little bit more research on the two of you. Just for my own curiosity of course."
Nodding in understanding Shota gave a slight smirk "How is the little one?"
Izuku gave a genuine smile "One hundred percent better. Even has her quirk under control now." With the change of topic Izuku relaxed and opened his fingers showing the basic formation of his quirk "This is my medium for HardLight. It lessens the toll on my reserves, and allows for more streamlined construction."
The disc hovered towards the teachers slowly building up a solid light structure of a cube in front of them. Once it approached Shota, he reached out and prodded the object with mild curiosity. Feeling that it was solid his gaze shifted towards Izuku who was gazing at Shota waiting for his critique.
Activating his quirk staring at the cube, he wasn't surprised that it didn't even flicker "No surprise that the object isn't affected, thought maybe the disc itself would be affected but that appears to not be the case." Shifting his gaze at Izuku who met his gaze head on and surprisingly the disc didn't disappear nor did the construct disappear "Could it be just an augmentation then?"
Izuku shook his head "No it is a quirk. Genetically my quirk will be passed along, we found out after taking a sample." Izuku blushed and turned his head scratching the back of his neck
Aizawa frowned "Then why doesn't my quirk shut it off? It's been tested that my quirk suppresses the quirk factor gene."
Izuku gave a weak smile, "You can't suppress what isn't there Eraserhead-sensei."
. . .
First Day of Classes U.A. Entrance
Gazing up at the school, as he passed through the metal gates, Izuku couldn't help but still be amazed at the prestigious academy's campus. To think that the main building here was only a fraction of what U.A. had was astonishing.
Shuffling his duffle bag, he began his walk to his classroom "Classroom 1-A. Hard to believe that there are only two 'Hero' classes. Then again less students means more effort goes into the ones that they have."
'According to the pamphlets and past student testimonials the school gives their teachers free reign on how they teach since they're all pro heroes.' Yui mentally communicated 'It also shows that of all the years in this school the first year is the hardest. The first year teachers are extremely harsh and have been known to expel students frequently. It quotes "This is where your potential is to be shown. If you don't have it or decide not to perform 'Plus Ultra' at all times then you have no place here or in the Hero Profession."' Yui explained while Izuku nodded in agreement
"They're not wrong. It may be harsh, but the sooner they realize they can't skate by then maybe that'll lessen the death toll."
With that sobering thought Izuku finally approached his class room door. Raising an eyebrow at the uniquely large door, he began to open the door. As the door he began to hear shouting from inside. Resisting the urge to grimace once he heard a voice he hoped he wouldn't have to listen to so soon.
"Please remove your feet at once from that desk!" A tall muscular, yet seemingly robotical, student admonished the current student of Izuku's ire "It is disrespectful to our upperclassmen and the craftsman whom made these desks!"
"Hah?!" A blonde spikey haired individual, known as Katsuki Bakugo, snarled "Who are you extra? Matter of fact what school did you come from?!"
The young man from before straightened and introduced himself "I am Tenya Iida, and I hail from Somei Private Academy."
"Somei?! You damn elitist, I'll enjoy squashing you like a bug!" Bakugo's hand spasmed wishing to unleash an Explosion.
"Like a bug?!" Tenya seemed appalled at the individual in front of him "You truly wish to become a hero?!" His attention switched to the door that was opening that revealed Izuku to the classroom, before straightening further, if that was possible, and marched towards the door "Greetings I'm…"
"Tenya Iida, from Somei." Izuku raised his hand for a handshake in greeting "I just heard, my apologies for cutting you off."
A slight smile came on Iida's face as he grasped Izuku's hand "It is no problem. I remember you from the entrance exam. You saved quite a few of examinees from injury."
Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "It wasn't a big deal really. It's what we're aspiring to be in the future. Doesn't matter if they were 'competition'."
Tears seem to cascade Iida's eyes as gripped his into a fist "Such a noble outlook. Your aspirations have inspired me to go even further!"
Izuku chuckled as he shifted his gaze among his other classmates and felt a frown come onto his face "Where's Kyoka? She said she passed… don't tell me she's in the other class? I was looking forward to having classes together…"
"Oi Izuku you're blocking the door." a familiar voice teased from behind Izuku
Turning, and stepping to the side, Izuku gave a small smile "Good to see you Kyoka. For a moment I was afraid you were in a separate class."
She smirked and stepped into the classroom fist pumping with Izuku along the way "Nah just browsing the campus before class."
It was then that Tenya reintroduced himself, "Greetings I am Tenya Iida, I look forward to learning to be a greater hero along with you."
"Alright?" Raising an eyebrow, Kyoka turned her gaze to Izuku who just shrugged at Tenya's unique behavior "Well likewise, the name's Kyoka Jiro."
Tenya nodded and proceeded to go about lecturing another student about sitting on their desks. Gazing around the class I noticed a few other familiar faces from the Field Exam such as the one with Frog-like mutation quirk and a…. sparkly gentleman? To Izuku it would seem they would have an interesting highschool career with equally interesting classmates.
"If you're here to socialize I suggest you leave." Jumping slightly both Izuku and Kyoka turned and found….a talking caterpillar? "It took you ten seconds to quiet down…. Highly irrational. You are Hero students in training. This isn't going to be an easy career so you can forget about taking it easy as if this was middle school." Walking to the podium in the middle of class, after stepping out of his sleeping, scraggly and exhausted looking man addressed the class "My name is Aizawa Shota. I'll be your homeroom for as long as you show potential for Heroics."
Meanwhile Izuku was shocked to learn that his teacher was going to Erasurehead "He never mentioned he was a teacher… let alone being my teacher."
After letting the information sink he reached beneath the podium and pulled out a box containing uniforms, pulling one out he drawled out "Put these on and meet out on the practice field immediately. There will be no need for the Orientation. We don't have the time necessary for something so trivial. Now move!"
. . .
Watching the students rush out to the field Aizawa nodded in approval "Good you're learning. Now…" he gazed over the class before locking eyes with Izuku "Midoriya, step forward." Without hesitation he did, "You scored first on the exam. What was your softball throw in highschool?"
"During the end of year Physical Tests for High Schools I managed Seventy-Five meters." Izuku stated, of course that was after training, before that it was only Thirty-Five meters
"That was without your quirk correct?" Aizawa asked looking at Izuku with a raised eyebrow
Izuku nodded "That's correct, the middle school didn't want interference unless it couldn't be helped."
"Oi, what the hell are you talking about?!" The whole class looked over to see an enraged Bakugou "Who the hell do you think are Deku?! You've been quirkless and that hasn't changed you damn nerd!" He launched forward in an attempt to bull rush Izuku before he was restrained by Aizawa who had a whole new look.
His eyes glowed red, his hair defying gravity as it hung in the air, and standing straighter with a strong grip on his now apparent capture device.
"I suggest you calm down and shut your mouth." Aizawa growled out, as he glared at Bakugou "I don't know what flew at your middle school, but I will not tolerate this behaviour. Bakugou do I make myself clear?" He received a glare, and so pulled harder on the capture device "Am. I. Clear."
He received a grunt and Bakugou stopped resisting. Letting out a gruff grunt, Aizawa pulled out a bottle of eye drops complaining about irrational kids and his dry eyes. Now with Bakugou back with the other students, said individuals were looking at Izuku with confused looks while shifting back to Bakugou who was giving Izuku a death glare.
"You may as well explain to them otherwise we'll never get anywhere." Aizawa drawled out shifting his attention to Izuku who was waiting patiently
Nodding in understanding he gave his rehearsed story "It's true." Making eyes go wide eyed "I was quirkless for fourteen years. Even though I don't have the Toe-Joint for whatever reason I didn't have a quirk." He shrugged "That is till this past Summer vacation. My dad came home from his overseas job for the first time in a few years. A byproduct of my dad's quirk gave off a blue sort of light that could be manipulated by the hand until it dispersed. While my mother's quirk is minor telekinesis."
Most of the class was listening intently while Bakugou grudgingly seemed to nod in acceptance so far with the explanation. He already knew Izuku's dad worked overseas and was rarely ever home if at all for years at a time.
Izuku chuckled "It was kind of funny. My dad used his quirk in the home, much to mom's annoyance, and was attempting to pull it out of the house. I happened to be passing by when she was pulling it." Opening his palm revealed a black disc that had a light blue glow along the edge "Thus my quirk: HardLight born. Apparently in my dad's quirk the byproduct was literal nanomachines that broke down outside of the body. With mom pulling it inside my body it was a chain reaction within it. Let me tell you though it wasn't without costs. It wrecked my body."
After that, the class seemed pacified with the answer while Bakugou was scowling. He didn't like the answer, but he seemed to begrudgingly accept it for now. Letting a sigh escape through his lips, Izuku turned to face his teacher who seemed to be giving a look between impressed and wishing he had a shorter explanation.
"Now that's done, no more questions." Aizawa growled out before tossing a ball at Izuku "You're going to rethrow that ball, but this time using your quirk. While the Department of Education may be complacent with quirks not being involved in middle school, I am not. You may use your quirk any way you see fit so long as you don't leave the circle."
Raising an eyebrow Izuku walked to the circle all the while creating several discs and having them floating about the air, at the questioning look from Aizawa he answered "They monitor my physical health and keep footage for later analysis."
Blinking for a few seconds Aizawa gave a response "I want you to monitor all students here and give me the footage later with physical fitness evaluations."
Now it was Izuku's turn to blink in surprise "I can do that, but I'll have a guest do the monitoring to take a load off." Pinching his fingers together another disc, thicker this time, and let it hover next to him "Yui, I'll leave you to the individual processes for my classmates."
Blue light began forming to reveal a pixie sized girl with long hair and simple dress 'Of course Big Brother.' Flying up towards the other discs, she formed a chair and control panel and began the monitoring process.
Walking forward away from the gawking class, he entered the circle and contemplated on how he wanted to complete the objective. Did he want to be flashy or do the smart and energy efficient method. After another few moments of contemplation he made a simple black disc and put the ball in the center and watched it fit to the size of the ball and watch it lazily float away from the circle up into the sky.
Shifting his gaze to Aizawa and raising an eyebrow "How long do you want to wait… I can go into space if I want too. Tried it once."
Aizawa blinked before frowning "You displayed quite some power at the exam. Are you holding back?"
Izuku got the hidden message "Tell them what you learned." nodding in understanding he explained his execution "While that is true, I made several mistakes. First and foremost I made myself useless. With the overload my body was paralyzed. If for any reason that robot was intact and functioning, already injured heroes would have to protect me, civilians, and each other while destroying the threat. Not something Heroes want to have to deal with. Also that move took far too long to use and such would've given villains more than enough time to counter me if they were real." Shaking his head he continued "Not to mention my quirk has energy limitations. As I grow my reserves will as well. Right now they are healthy, but the lower my reserves get the more detrimental and errors I'm going to have in the long run."
Izuku took a breath and pointed up to the sky "So I decided to take the most energy effective method. I have no range limit on my discs, and the energy they use to travel is negated by my passive recovery." Izuku grinned at Aizawa "It's more logical to take the path with the least energy consumed. That's if the situation allows it of course."
Aizawa gazed blankly at Izuku for a moment before a creepy grin spread across his face "Listen well students, those words are something to live by." His gaze shifted over to the class as a whole "Now with that out of the way we will begin these tests. First up 100 Meter Dash."
A female student with pink skin spoke amongst the others "This is going to be fun!" Some agreed with smiles on their faces
An ominous aura fell onto the class as they turned and saw Aizawa with his eyes shadowed "'Going to be fun' huh… As of this moment the student who scores the lowest on these tests in total will be deemed to have zero potential and will be expelled from the Hero Program."
"What?!" the majority of the class exclaimed while a few remained stoic
"Y-you can't do that!" the same female pink student from before shouted
"Here at U.A. teachers have the full authority to train heroes-in-training as they see fit." Izuku stated, pulling up a screen made of HardLight that showed a page from the student handbook "That includes expulsion, punishment (as long as it is morally right), and rewards (barring certain exceptions)." Izuku continues to read "The expelled student may try to remain at U.A. and be a part of the General Studies, Business Course, or the Support Program."
The class gazed at Izuku in shock for confirming their fears, and some had small glares aimed at him. Izuku stood stoic ignoring their plight. He didn't like it anymore than they did, but he learned that the truth is more productive than giving lies.
Aizawa nodded in appreciation before glaring "Now quit wasting time!"
A collective shiver went down the entire class at Aizawa's tone. After that the physical exams began. It was obvious from the beginning that some exams allowed certain students to shine. Though there was a collective bunch that maintained high standards and a very promising standard for the future.
Izuku showed his prowess in using his HardLight discs in unique ways. For the long jump he threw a disc forward that expanded and caught him mid jump. Another infinitive score under his belt. He was followed by a female student by the name of Momo Yaoyorozu. Her quirk Creation was incredibly versatile as his own. The only task that seemed to have a clear show that their quirk was made for it was the side-step. Minoru Mineta, Quirk: Pop-Off.
If Izuku was honest he could see how the shrimp passed the entrance exam. If only for the fact his…. Balls…. Were incredibly sticky and could be used to destroy the robots with ease. That was all the credit he was going to give. The shrimp was incredibly perverted and lacked common decency.
The string of tests lasted for most of the morning into the early afternoon. Only a select few were tired from the tests. Izuku, Momo, and several others weren't winded at all. Not to say they didn't give their all, but they took Izuku's words to heart and used the least energy intensive solutions to pass their tests. Now all stood before a black board awaiting for the results.
. . .
It actually happened. A student was expelled from the Hero's Program. On day one. While Izuku was the one that stated the rule, part of him still believed that it was meant to push them to do their best. Though the student expelled wasn't a surprise to Izuku: Minoru Mineta. Apparently Aizawa had been keeping tabs on the uncouth behavior of the Hero hopeful.
While true we are young and hormonal, it was no excuse for the excessiveness the boy was showing. It was not something that should've driven someone to be a Hero. Definitely not for a school that was as prestigious. Least to say that sobered up Izuku and his classmates that this school meant business. If you were in the Hero course you were meant to give your all.
Izuku walked down the empty halls of U.A. He had stayed behind to get information from the Orientation. Which included an Itinerary of the school year, subject to change of course, and other interesting options for everyone to partake in. While Hero students tended to mostly focus on their Hero Studies and Physical training it was still important not to burnout.
Izuku let out a sigh "I get the feeling that things are going to be tense tomorrow."
Yui, floating next to him, nodded 'Everyone is going to be on edge afraid of being the next one expelled.'
"That's the thing though… you have to take risks in order to go farther." Shaking his head Izuku pulled up some music to lighten his mood. "Shame Jirou left early. I figured we would hang out after school."
'She said her folks called her early wanting to celebrate her passing her Sensei's test. Apparently they heard about the test.' Yui supplied him an answer
"Haah…" Izuku let out a sigh as he exited the building walking up to the gates "Oh well there's always next time." He walked a few more feet before coming to a stop "You going to come out? It's not like you to keep to the shadows… Katsuki."
Stepping out of the tree line Katsuki stood behind a feet away from Izuku with a resting look of neutrality on his face "Took you damn long enough to leave."
A frown adorned Izuku's face as he turned to meet the red eyes of Katsuki "I'm sorry, but I don't abide by your schedule. What do you want? I doubt that this is just a 'friendly' chat."
Katsuki's lip twitched before speaking once more "How long have you lied to me? How long have you made fun of me?" His voice rose as his anger flared and a scowl adorned his face "How long have looked DOWN ON ME?!"
Izuku looked dumbfounded before scowling himself "Made fun of you? Looked down on you?! Are you an idiot?!" Izuku shook his head before turning away "You're so delusional about yourself it's ridiculous. I have never looked down on you or made a single negative comment about your skills. Your temper and bullying tendencies are the only things I belittle which sadly is most of your character!" Izuku snarled and glared back at Katsuki "But I never treated you the way you treat everyone else! I will never be like you. I will always be better than you, for the sole fact you care not for others but only for yourself!"
Izuku stormed off, with music pounding in his ears to try and calm him. Katsuki stood in his spot, his previous scowl gone. Calculating eyes stood watching Izuku's retreating form. Katsuki's fist tightened as he slowly walked forward to go home.
