As they re-entered the TARDIS, Curristan and Jadena both sagged in relief. The ordeal had been one of cat and mouse, which had made Jaden feel like she had been in a living nightmare. She nodded weakly and Curristan as he looked at her, before making her way back to her room.

Curristan watched her go before setting the controls for takeoff, feeling a sense of grim satisfaction that the threat had been dealt with and Laotia being now secure. On the other hand, he felt that he had slipped into a dark moment. But in the end, his actions had been necessary to save the colony world.

Walking back to his room he felt drained. He felt extremely angry at what the Kasprasians had done and knew that one day he would have to deal with them again at some point. However, he did not know about the events that were now taking place back in Loatia.

Back in Loatia, a task force of soldiers had just arrived from their capital to the affected settlement. They found the crashed vessel along with the two dead Kasprasians. A message was sent back to the capital revealing what they had found.

Several hours later, the Loatian government had issued orders to bring the Kasprasians and their damaged vessel back to be examined. The ramifications of this incident were to force unfortunate consequences, though right now that was not seen.

Events were about to escalate.

The Governor Jaskan Karest was worried. The alien incursion had come without warning and he knew that he was being looked to for strong leadership. However, it wasn't simple. The technology of the Kasprasians was better than what Loatia had, but the Earth Empire would be able to assist with weapon shipments and better technology.

But that would take time, which he felt he didn't have. He would have to play for time and hope that there would not be a Kasprasian invasion in the meantime. He was determined to be a great leader in this crisis.

It was evening and he sat in his office. He had ordered all military branches to send reports of their current status and any equipment requests. He also had sent the message asking the Earth Empire for assistance.

It would soon be war.

Curristan was now back awake and unaware of what was being unleashed elsewhere. He sat in the dining area eating his favourite meal of a pie and mashed potato which he was eating with gusto. At the same time though had felt that the situation he had left behind on Loatia was not a good one.

However, he had to accept the consequences as he felt he could dare not interfere further just in case he made even more damage to the timeline on that planet. Sometimes you just had to accept defeat and withdraw.

'I suppose I did what I could, the two Kasprasians we found were probably up to something and were prevented...I won't ever know but in the end, I know I did the right thing.'

Far behind Curristan, the war between the Earth Empire and the Kasprasian Empire over the Loatian incident had begun. Millions would die and Loatia would become a frontline planet. However, the Kasprasian infiltration plan had been thwarted by Curristan and the outcome changed from their surprise attack and victory to a more prepared Earth Empire defeating them. So without him knowing it, Curristan had somehow changed things this time for the better.
