Amy's POV
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and I have come to save the forest. Tails shows horrible images of vast areas of tree trunks left behind by robot cutters. We think the robots' presence means that Eggman is behind this.
We soon come to the first area of deforestation. Sonic starts hitting on the robots, the bystanders cheer him up. We want to travel toward the next woodcutter camp when a big mass of civilians calls for Sonic, buses has stopped to allow their passenger to come to us, the drivers of the nearby cars shout for him, and the pedestrians just add to the number. All of this delays us, as Sonic gives them part of his time.
It seems to be like more than half an hour, when we Metal Sonic surprises us. Straight away, the boys pursue him. I try to catch up, but this people do not let me pass.
I try to walk over them, but I fell and then they start yelling at me. I push, push and push; suddenly a way opens, I move through it only to realize they are gone. Well, I may catch them up, and I run, walk, sit, and run again, until far away, I distinguish, Shadow! He is here too, probably wanting to help!
I run to him; he enters a soup kitchen.
"Shadow!"
He sees me, then he asks me to wait while he tries to remember me.
"Rose!"
"Amy Rose," I correct him.
"Aren't you with Sonic?"
"I am, yes... I got lost," I confess.
"Can't you call him?" He says nonchalantly.
"I have no roaming. Could you lend me your phone?"
He lends me his phone and then say "hide!"
"Why!?" I ask nervously.
"Dating Sonic's girlfriend!" says the voice of no other than Eggman.
"EGGMAN!" I yell.
"You are allowing Sonic to stop the deforestation," he protests. "I am taking ownership of this place."
"Doctor, this is not what it seems," Shadow tells him.
"Oh, of course, you both are playing house," he snaps his fingers, "I get it, you owe her money," continues Eggman sarcastically.
"I am talking about everything," Shadow yells, clearly annoyed. "She is lost, and I cannot stop Sonic, except if the mayor wants us to intervene. GUN is here, but he must authorize us."
"You are with him!?" I interrupt.
"He is with the... city, I am with the city, all of us are with the mayor, I mean city," he declares annoyed.
"He is doing something really wrong to the forest," I protest.
"The city wants it like that," he counters.
"You cannot be serious!" I protest.
"Shut up!" shouts the unpolite fat man.
"GUN will be over you!" Shadow tries to convince him to stop.
"Would you stop me?" Eggman asks teasing Shadow.
"I wouldn't try it," Shadow answers, hopefully lying.
"Because Sonic, right?" Continues Eggman pressuring for an answer.
Shadow shakes his head and gives him the silent treatment. Eggman leaves.
"What is in that area?" Shadow asks to himself.
I leave the place to be alone while I call Sonic, to inform him of the current events. A minutes later, people looking like gangsters enter the soup kitchen. Are they from Eggman? I quickly go to check on Shadow. He is coming out with them, he sees me.
"Hold me this," he gives me his Chaos Emerald.
He proceeds to beat them. "Is that all?" he mocks them.
Then, it happens, BANG! From a far, above, he is shot. He is hurt, bleeding, and other gangsters start approaching.
"Where is the closest hospital?" I yell into the kitchen. "12 blocks east," was the answer. I have his phone and Chaos Emerald, hopefully that is all. I run toward him, grab him in my arms and run, as fast as I can.
Couple of blocks away, I see groups of gangsters coming for me. I cannot make a straight line to the hospital. I go north, one block, and they are still blocking me, then north again. This time they are not on time in the other end of the block, probably I am faster. North again, but now I go east, I cannot waste more time.
Reaching the other end, I turn to see my pursuers, none in sight. They probably are going toward the entrance of the hospital. I keep running. When I reach the hospital, there are GUN soldiers securing the place. I enter the hospital and gives them Shadow, who looks like is on the fence between this life and the other.
