Chapter 3: The Thing Inside the Egg
The incredibly large egg split into many different pieces and inside was something…deadly?
When the dust settled, six eyes gazed down upon the oddly small creature that hatched from the egg. This creature was about the same height as Tails and mostly composed of a purple-colored amorphous mass. It looked expectantly at the group.
"What are we supposed to do with it," asked Tails.
"I could take it back to my lab for studying," replied Eggman.
"No way Egghead, we don't want you to take it and use him for one of your evil schemes," retorted Sonic.
"Now why would I do that?"
"Because that's what you always do!"
"No way!"
"Yes way!"
"Nuh-uh!"
"Uh-huh!"
"Guys, where did the thing go?"
With Tails' words, Sonic and Eggman ceased their arguing and looked back at the egg to find that the creature was nowhere to be seen.
"Now, who's fault was this?" said both Sonic and Eggman in unison, and they glared at each other.
"Mine, actually. I was too busy studying the eggshell to keep an eye on the creature, and now it is gone," said Tails. Sonic shrugged in response.
The trio searched the nearby hills for an hour, but without a name to call, their search efforts were a bust.
"How are we going to find something that doesn't have a name?" asked Sonic.
"The being probably has a name, but we just never asked," sighed Tails. That was the first thing I should have done.
"That creature will be fine. Besides, it will probably end up in someone's care if it ended up in the city," said Eggman, pointing towards the distant skyline of Station Square.
Amy Rose was walking back to her apartment, groceries in hand.
"I can't believe that I finished all the tasks so quickly. It is not even noon yet! All I have to do is iron the rugs, vacuum the clothes, wash the birds, and feed the dishes, then I'll be done."
That doesn't sound right.
"You're right, strange voice! I got some tasks mixed up. Oops!"
Amy then thought, wait a second…Who did say that?
You'll find me soon enough.
Amy was confused and nervous by this sudden voice entering her head and correcting her. She didn't think much about it until when she got to her apartment door, and something fell from the sky and into a grocery bag she was carrying.
"GAH!"
