(Vincent's Pov)
I woke up to my alarm going off, interrupting the music that was playing and I sighed a bit as I slowly got up from the bed and looked around to see I was in the Motel, yesterday was flooding back and I couldn't help but smile at the memory and I shake my head a bit as I got up and got ready for the day. I had taken my shower and looked at my hair again and decided to shave my beard. I grabbed the razor from my bag along with the shaving cream. When I was done, I felt around my face a bit to make sure I had gotten all the hair and I nod as I am happy with the cut. I put my things back into my bag and looked at the time and so I headed out the room and to my car. I went back to the diner and asked for Bonnie again, we talked for a bit over the coffee and I smiled as she went to get my usual food. I decided to look at my phone again to see if there were any updates to the band.
"Update, we have yet to find a new guitarist/Singer so we will be putting the concert in Virginia on hold, we are sorry to disappoint the fans but don't worry we will be there as soon as we can, if you would like a refund on your ticket that is understandable, if you have gotten a ticker and still want to come when we do arrive you do not have to worry about it being expired, the security will be told about the issue and should be reasonable, if they aren't please report them to us and we will fix the issue." I read the post Brody had made and I felt kind of bad for all the people that were waiting, I know those tickets were sold months ago. I looked up to see Bonnie coming back with the food and I set my phone down as I ate just a bit.
"You doing ok Shug?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea… well no, I don't know." I say as I set my fork down and just look to the plate a bit.
"What's wrong?" She asked and I sighed as I rubbed my head a bit.
"I feel like I let people down… I left the band during the big American Tour we were supposed to have, and because of that there are people who bought tickets in advanced that might not be going because the band can't find a new member on time." I say and look up to her.
"Sacrifices have to be made sometimes, I think people would understand if you explained things, but then again some people might not, but that's how they are." She says and I had to agree with that because she was right and I just looked to my phone.
"Do you think I should go on the radio show then?" I asked her.
"That's up to you, I can't tell you what to do, but I will say that it might seem like the best option you do have, and hey you should do it before your ex goes on and makes up a bunch of lies… but you should really do it if you're ready, not because you feel obligated to do so." She says and I nod and think a bit.
"Yea… alright, thank you Bonnie." I say to her.
"No problem, I know how people are, been around a lot of bad apples to." She says and I nod as I finished the food and left her another tip as I paid for the meal. I then decided to go drive around a bit and set my eyes on a park. Not that many people were around so I got out my car and headed over to the pond where the ducks were, it was quiet relaxing to just sit here and watch the animals swimming around a bit that is. I then hear kids laughing and playing and turn to see one kid run into the lake to scare the ducks. His mom scold at him for doing so but another kid was also in the water as his dad came up. The man was very familiar and I recognized him as Clementine's father.
"Dad look that's the guy Clem was with, right?" I hear the boy say and I turned to look back at the lake.
"It seems so but- AJ come back." I hear and turn to see the boy come up to me and I look at him as he was soaked and he looked to me and smiled.
"Hi I'm AJ, I'm Clem's little brother." He says and holds his hand out and I smiled and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you AJ I'm Vincent." I introduced myself as well, and he smiled a big smile. I then saw his dad come up to us as he looked to AJ.
"AJ don't run off like that." He says and I stand up to look at the man. He was a bit taller than I was, he had a goatee going on and I hold my hand out to him.
"Nice to meet you sir." I say and he shakes my hand.
"Nice to meet you too Vincent, Clem has told me a lot about you, and I do apologize for AJ he gets a bit excited when he sees any of Clementine's friends." He explained.
"Oh no it's fine, didn't know he would be that excited." I say.
"But you're cool, and Clem said she wanted us to meet you so." AJ says and both me and his father laughed at this.
"Blunt but he is right, I hope I didn't scare you yesterday." The man says and I shook my head.
"No not at all, I know how dads are with their daughters, trust me I expected that." I tell him and he nods.
"Lee's fun though." AJ says.
"Oh right, I'm Lee, or Mr. Everett." He says and I think a bit.
"Wouldn't happen to be related to the older couple that owns the Drug Store in town, would you?" I asked.
"Yep, those are my parents, you probably haven't met my brother yet but he works there as well." He explained and I nodded at this.
"When will you be coming over to our house?" AJ asked and I looked to him.
"Uh, I think when Clementine thinks it's appropriate for me to come and visit, though that might not be for some time." I tried to explain to him and he looked a little disappointed.
"But she talks about you a lot." He says and I turned a bit red at this and I looked to Lee who was smiling at the interaction and I coughed a bit and rubbed my neck.
"Uh well um." I tried to speak but couldn't.
"I think we should leave Vincent alone now AJ." Lee says and I watch the boy as he nods and I looked to Lee.
"It was nice to meet you Vincent and I do hope we meet again soon." Lee says and I nod in agreement and AJ waves to me and I waved back.
"See you soon Vincent." AJ says and I chuckled a bit at this and I look back to the lake and I sit back down. I was just watching the ducks more as they finally got back into the water when the kids were gone. I watched as they swam around and I sigh as I looked back to my phone to see any updates.
"Today we got some more information on the band 'The Walking Dead' as stated by Minerva we have gotten some information on the break, but we won't reveal what that information is until the day of the interview, again we want to have Vincent on before anything is stated, we tried to contact him again but still no answer." I read the post and I looked to the comments.
"I think he's just scared he's going to get called out for abusing Minerva."
"You, dumbass, He isn't like that."
"I hope he goes on the WABE to clear his name; I don't think he's the type of person to abuse anyone, especially with how he grew up with his dad."
"He needs to go on, please Vincent if you are reading this, clear things up, we don't want you to look like a bad person to anyone."
"This is bullshit, if he doesn't want to go on, he doesn't have to, what is it with people these days."
"I think he should go on, it's best for us to have closure especially if he doesn't produce music anymore, but I agree if he doesn't want to go on he shouldn't feel obligated to do so." I read the comments and I sighed as I lean my head on my knees and I put my phone in my pocket and looked to see more kids playing so I get up and head back to my car. I drove around a bit and then went into the town and saw a barber shop and then decided to park my car and look at the shop before I went in and looked around.
"Hey there stranger." I hear and look to see a young woman who looked to be in her twenties, maybe early thirties.
"Hello." I say.
"You want a cut?" She asked and I think a bit and I nod as she takes me to a chair and she set everything up and I showed her how short I wanted my hair. She had began to cut my hair and I watched as it fell once cut, I looked in the mirror a bit as she did this and I looked around but not turning my head. It took a few minutes before it was finished and she put a mirror to the back of my head and I nod as it looked great. Once done I paid for the cut and then left. I ran my hand through my hair and smiled a bit at the feeling. My watch then went off and I looked to see it was time to go see Clementine. I got into my car and drove to her school, as I got into the parking lot I looked to the baseball field and saw Clementine still practicing, so I get out the car and head to the fence and watch a bit as Clementine went up to bat.
"Alright last hit of the practice show us what you got Clementine." I hear the coach say and watch as Clementine got ready to hit. The first ball was a strike and I just kept watching as the second ball was a strike. Finally, the last ball that was thrown, Clementine was able to hit it, once she did she ran to first place then decided to try and steal second. She was able to get to second base before the ball was caught by the baseman and she stayed on second.
"Alright, practice is done, remember we have practice tomorrow unless it rains." The coach announced and I watched Clementine as she went to the dugout to get her stuff. I decided to surprise her as I went over to the dugout and tapped her shoulder and she turned really fast and I smiled at her.
"Vincent, you made it… and you cut your hair." She says as she ran her fingers through my hair and I chuckled at this.
"Yea, got a clean shave too." I say and she touches my face and smiles.
"I like this." She says and I hear some kissing sounds and turn to see her teammates making the sounds and I turned red and looked back to Clementine who was glaring at them.
"Oooh does Clem have a boyfriend?" One of the girls said and I looked to her.
"No, he's just a friend." She tells them and I nod at this.
"We're just messing with you Clem." The girl said and she waves bye to Clementine and I looked to Clementine who went and grabbed her back and I decided to grab I for her.
"I'll set it in the trunk." I say and she nods as she grabbed her bat and gloves too. We headed to my car and I set the items in the trunk and I looked to Clementine as she set the rest of her things in the trunk as well. I looked to her as I closed the trunk and I leaned on it.
"So, you really like the cut?" I asked and she nods.
"Oh yea, most certainly." She say and runs her fingers through my hair again and I chuckled at this. It's normal for this to happen to me so I wasn't bothered by any of this.
"That's good." I say to her and we both laugh a bit at this, I then helped her into the car and I got in next. I began to drive as she looked out the window as the trees passed us by. She told me where to go and we finally got to the lake again, she went and grabbed her backpack and pulled out some books and I looked at the books and notes she had.
"Homework sucks." I muttered and she laughed.
"Well duh, but I have to do it." She says and I nod as I watch her then look to the lake a bit. I decided to play some soft music, it usually helps me when I had to do homework.
"This is a relaxing song." She says as she wrote down some answers and I nod in agreement.
"Yea just soft guitar tunes, use to help me when I had to study." I explained and she nods.
"I do the same thing, though mine was mostly piano, but then it made me tired so." She says and I chuckled at this.
"Yea it will do that to you." I say and watch her do another math equation. I was never good at math in all honesty I just knew the basics.
"I'm almost done sorry I wasn't able to finish this in class." She says and I shrug.
"No rush, take your time." I tell her and she nods as she finished up her last problem and She put the books away and I smiled as she got out the car and I followed her as we sat on the boat ramp again and looked at the water as the waves hit the ramp a bit.
"So, what made you want to cut your hair? Other than the constant wind blowing it in your face." She jokes and I laughed.
"Just wanted to do something new is all, besides feels a hell of a lot lighter." I explained and looked at the water some more.
"Well, it suits you." She says and I nod as I looked to her.
"That's good." I say to myself and I think as I take my shoes off and I set my feet into the water and I hear Clementine laugh a bit as I laid back and looked up to her to see her doing the same and I watch her.
"Feel good?" I asked and she nods as she closes her eyes and I smiled as I close my eyes and listen to anything.
"It's fun hanging out with you in all honesty." I hear her say.
"Is that so?" I asked.
"Yea, if I hang out with anyone Gabe has to be involved and it kind of bothers all of us, he acts as if we can't do anything without him." She says and I sit up a bit as I opened my eyes and I look at her as I lean on my hand.
"Is he really that bothersome?" I asked and she nods as she opened her eyes and looked up at me.
"Yea, just imagine he listened to me more than his uncle, just because he had a crush on me, and that was coming from Mariana." She says and I think.
"That's honestly creepy if you ask me." I say and she nods at this and looks back up to the sky.
"I know, but he used to be nice before we dated, after that I couldn't do lots of things like hang out with Duck by myself, and I have known Duck longer than him, he even tried to get me to stop hanging out with Sarah." She says and I felt a bit angry at this.
"The hell? She's a nice girl why the hell would he do that?" I asked and she shrugged.
"I have no idea, he just told me one day to not hang around Sarah and I told him off about it." She tells me and I nod.
"I agree with you on that, he shouldn't be controlling."
"Then he has to try and get into people's business, or try to find out if someone shouldn't hang around me, you'd think he'd be more worried about his sister than an ex-girlfriend." She says and I nod in agreement.
"I'm sorry for ranting about this stuff." She apologized.
"No, no it's all good let it out." I tell her and I think a bit.
"I use to fight a lot with Minerva, even to the point where she didn't want me to be around anyone but her… hell before we got engaged, she thought I was cheating on her with Brody." I tell her and she sits up really fast to the pint I had to move back a bit.
"Wait what?" She asked and I laughed.
"You're serious?" She asked and I nod.
"Oh yea, I have been friends with Brody longer than Minerva, she thought I had a major crush on her." I explained.
"Did you?" She asked and I rubbed my neck.
"I mean yea but Brody is straight… or Bi? I don't want to assume but I think she's straight." I say as I think.
"Well damn." She says and I laughed at this and she looked at me.
"Yea, she was upset with Brody because I would hang out with her more, but again I hadn't asked her to marry me yet." I say.
"Why did you ask her to marry you?" She asked and I think.
"I thought she was the one for me, but I was wrong, really wrong on that." I say and I felt my phone vibrate a bit and looked at it to see a notification on the bands Instagram. It was a photo of Louis playing the piano and Brody sitting next to him as he taught her how to play, even though she was also a singer she still wanted to play the piano at one point. I think a bit and I get an idea as I look to Clementine.
"Hey do you mind if I take a photo of us?" I asked and she looked at me.
"Sure, you posting it somewhere?" She asked and I nod as I turn the camera to face us as we had the sun setting in the background and the water was also in the background with the small islands in the lake. I take the photo as we smile and I look at it as I put a caption on it. I then look to Clementine before posting.
"Want to be tagged?" I asked.
"Sure, if that's ok." She says and tells me her Instagram name and I smiled as I posted the photo and instantly the notifications went wild and we both couldn't help but laugh at this.
"See people still love you." She says and I nod as I looked at the photos and she saw some of the comments and we laughed at some of them.
"OH MY GOD DOES VINCENT HAVE A NEW GIRLFRIEND?!"
"Who is that chick she looks hot."
"Holy crap that's a good photo."
"VINCANT SHAVED?!"
"Nice haircut man."
"Where are they at, that place looks nice." I chuckled a bit at the comments, that is until I saw Minerva's comment.
"WHAT THE FUCK?! YOU'RE WITH ANOTHER GIRL THAT FAST AFTER OUR BREAK?!" I looked to Clementine as she read the post and I looked at it as I think a bit about to reply but Clementine stops me.
"Nah let her think like that, it shows how ignorant she is, and how she can't read captions." She says and I read the caption again.
"Hanging out with my friend 'I'm Not An Orange' having a relaxing day at the lake." I read and I look to Clementine and I nod as I shut my phone off and look to her.
"First time I posted something in months and this is the reaction she has." I muttered as I looked back to the lake as the stars start to come out and I sighed a bit.
"Come on, I know a place that can cheer you up." She says and I look to her as she gets up and I follow her as we head to my car and I looked to her.
"You like Ice-Cream?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea, favorite is Mint Chocolate Chip." I say as I drive.
"Rocky Road is better in my opinion." She says and I glare at her playfully.
"Oh, come on, it's the best out of Chocolate maybe but it can't beat Mint Chocolate Chip, not even Cookie Dough." I say as I drive and the radio goes off and we look down at it.
"We have gotten some new information on Vincent, due to a recent post he had just made on Instagram with a girl at the lake with him, we don't know the girls real name only what she goes by on said social media platform, it seems many people think that Vincent is dating this girl even Minerva has made a comment about it on her Instagram as well, though the caption has stated that Vincent is hanging out with a friend, we hope Vincent comes onto the show to talk about this next month, we are happy that he is relaxing though and we know that he is ok." We both heard and I looked to the road as I drove more.
"Well, that is interesting." She says and I think as I lean back into the seat a bit.
"I was thinking about going on the show but I'm not to sure just yet." I tell her honestly and I looked to her then to the road.
"It's really up to you on weather you go or not, you don't have to if you don't want to." She says and I nod and I think as I finally get to the Ice-Cream shop and park the car.
"I think I should…. I wouldn't want anyone making up lies." I say as I think of what Minerva would say and I looked to the building a bit.
"Then you should go on, but again I can't tell you what to do." She says and I nod.
"I'll think on it more… so Ice-Cream?" I asked and she nods as we head in and I looked at all the flavors they had set out.
"Hello you two what can I get you?" I hear and look to see a teenager as he stood at the counter.
"Hello, john could I get the usual?" Clementine asked and he nods as he makes her Ice-Cream and I keep looking.
"And you?" He asked and I looked to the Mint Chocolate Chip.
"Uh Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake please." I tell him and he nods as he gets to work on that and I looked to the other forms of Ice-Cream. Once we paid for our Ice-Cream we headed out to the patio and ate or drank in my case our Ice-cream.
"So did you like hanging out today?" I hear Clementine ask and I smile as I nod.
"Yea, it was really fun…. Especially with the photo." I say and she smiled back at me and I looked at her. We talked for a bit as we finished our food and I looked around a bit then to Clem as she took a quick look at her phone for the time.
"I have to go back home." She says and I nod as I threw away the cup and we went to my car. I drove for a while to her house and I look to see her dad out on the porch with AJ who gets up and runs to the car and I couldn't help but laugh at this as I got out the car with Clementine and he ran up and hugged his sister.
"CLEM'S HOME!" AJ announced and we laughed at this and he looks to me.
"It's Vincent." He says and he comes up and hugs me and I just look down at him and pat his head. I'm not much when it comes to hugs, though you would think that with my fans hugging me all the time.
"Hey how do you know?" Clem tried to ask as AJ let go of me.
"We saw him at the park today." AJ says and I look to her and nod and she giggles a bit.
"Well, isn't that fun." She says and I look to see Lee coming over to us.
"Hello Vincent." He says and I shake his hand as he held it out to me.
"Nice to meet you again Mr. Everett." I say and he nods and looks to Clementine.
"You two have fun today?" He asked and we both nodded.
"Yea, it was fun, we might hang out tomorrow." Clem says as she looked to me and I nod at this.
"Did you finish your homework?" Lee asked her and she nods.
"Alright, you know homework comes first you know that." He says and she nods and smiles.
"I know dad." She says and I chuckled. We talked for a little while before I had to head out and I drove back to the motel. Once in the room I looked at my phone and I called Brody.
"VINCENT WHO IS THAT GIRL ARE YOU DATING AGAIN?!" She yelled and I chuckled at this.
"Nice to talk to you too Brody." I say.
"I'm sorry, you know I just want to know what's going on, so who is that girl?" She asked and I think.
"She's a friend, and no I'm not lying we are just friends." I tell her.
"Do you have feelings for her?" She asked.
"No, like I said she's just a friend, she's been showing me around her town a bit that's all." I tell Brody.
"Oh… you know Minerva is pissed about this." She says and I sit up a bit at that.
"I saw her comment, though she shouldn't be mad, she said she regretted our engagement so she's just being an idiot." I say as I looked around a bit.
"Let's get off this topic, I see you shaved and got a haircut." She says and I nod.
"Yea, it was getting bothersome so I just cut it." I say as I looked to the window as a car light passed by.
"Are you having fun though?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea, I am I uh…. I'm thinking about going to the interview so if I do, I'll see you guys in a month." I tell her.
"I'll make sure to keep Minerva at bay, Louis will help too." She says and I nod.
"That would be great, thank you."
"I'm going to let you go it's getting late, night Vincent." She says.
"Night Brody talk to you tomorrow maybe?" I asked.
"Of course." She says and we both hang up and I lay back in the bed and close my eyes as I fall asleep for the night and to get ready for tomorrow's events.
