Sun-hee POV

Today is my first day at UA. I will say I'm really nervous. But, I did have support from the Big Three, Mirio introduced me to Tamaki and Nejire. I was able to meet a few other pros through them and Nighteye. I had training in combat to bring my dancing flexibility to the fullest. I was walking to the UA campus to find a guy with red hair and a pink girl. Wait... MINA! She seemed to notice and recognize me.

"NO WAY, SUN-HEE!" She yelled as she ran up and crushed me in a hug.

"Hey... Mina," I gasped out since I couldn't breathe that well. "Good... to... see you... but... can't... breathe."

"Oh, sorry," she apologized as she let me go. "It's just I haven't seen you since you quit the dance studio. That was over a year ago. I didn't know you applied to UA."

Mina and I became friends when we were young. I had joined the dance studio when I was really young. A couple of years after, she joined and saw me alone in the corner solving my custom pastel Rubik's cube. She came up to me and asked me if I really know how to solve that. We became fast friends after that.

"Yeah, sorry. To tell you the truth, I'm actually one of the 5 recommendation students."

They both looked surprised. "Really! You're so cool! Though I can't say I'm surprised. You're a grade ahead for people your age and you're quirk is really cool!"

"Woah, really?! You're a year younger than us?!" The red hair boy asked.

"Oh, I should introduce you," Mina realizes. "Sun-hee, this is Eijiro Kirishima. Kirishima, this an old friend from the dance studio I took lessons from."

"Nice to meet you," we said in unison, we shook hands and started walking towards UA again.

"So, what class are you guys in?" I ask.

"We both got into 1-A," Kirishima answered.

"Cool, so we'll be in the Hero Course together."

We continued to talk, until we went to the unreasonably large door. We went inside and we waited.

I was currently sitting in seat #10. (Sato's seat, I'm replacing him with Sun-hee because he's one of the students that's just there for the sake of being there. For those who don't agree with me, this is just my opinion) A blue hair boy with glasses was trying to reprimand a guy with spiky blonde hair for having his feet on the desk. Then the blue hair boy brought all of our attention to a green hair boy standing in the doorway, who started to panic and stutter. I didn't really pay attention, I just wanted to start class. What caught my attention was a deep, sleepy voice coming from the door.

"If you're just here to make friends, you can pack your stuff now," it said. I then heard rustling and a zipper. The students at the door looked like a mix of weirded out and terrified. "It took right seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that." They all had slightly shocked expressions on their faces. I heard a few footsteps and a man clad in black, a silver scarf, and what looks to be a sleeping bag in his hand is visible to everyone. He then starts talking in a bored voice, "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa. Your teacher."

So this is our homeroom teacher. I heard of how he runs his class from Mirio. He said that he once expelled an entire class. That's a teacher who's really serious about who's a hero, wonder why?

He reached into his sleeping bag and pulled out the UA PE uniform. "Alright, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside."

"What? A quirk assessment test?"

The others were shocked by the idea of doing this on the first day. Me? I kinda expected this from his first impression. Although it doesn't look like a hero, his undertone sounded like he took this kind of thing really seriously.

"But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" A brown hair girl complains.

"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." He keeps making the other students gasp. Is it really that shocking? I get that ceremonies can be important for heroes, but they're not mandatory. "Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives. But never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day the Ministry of Education will learn." He then turned to the spikey blonde kid with an attitude. "Bakugou, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in junior high?"

"Sixty-seven meters, I think."

"Right. Try doing it with your quirk." He hands Bakugou a softball. Bakugou stepped in the throwing circle. "Anything goes, just stay in the circle. Go on. You're wasting our time."

Bakugou starts to stretch what I presume to be his throwing arm. "Alright, man. You asked for it." He starts setting up for the pitch. When his arm was reeled back, he brought down the calm demeanor and screamed "DIE!" Followed by a huge explosion. That's some quirk.

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities," Mr. Aizawa starts. "It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero." He held up his phone that showed a distance of 705.2 meters. Over 7 hectometers. Not bad. A guy praised Bakugou's score. Mina exclaimed how fun it looks. Oh no, Mina. I sighed, not thinking this will end well. "So this looks fun, huh?" The students looked confused as to what he meant. But I had an idea of what's coming. The world isn't all fun and games. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and play time?" He started smirking. "Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately." All the students yelped out in shock and retaliation. "Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand? If that's a problem, you can head home right now."

"You can't send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair!" The brown hair girl argues.

"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or power hungry villains? Hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try to combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So, go beyond. Plus- Ultra style. Show me it's no mistake that you're here." I'll make everyone that supported me to be here proud. "Now then. We're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin."

Since the 50 meter dash was first, I weighed out my options. I have on my necklace my cloud cube, the four elements, and my special cloth cube. For this one, I think the clouds are the safest bet. It should get me there in three seconds at its fastest. Soon enough it was my turn, I was against a guy with what looks to be a very hard head. I enlarged my cub and started solving it at a medium speed as I walked over. I could feel people questioning my actions, but I just ignored them. I was finished a little before the gunshot and threw the cube up. It glowed, fell, and turned into a cloud. When it did go off, I sprinted and jumped as far as I could, the cloud breaking my fall. I made it go as fast as possible. When I crossed the end line, the machine yelled "3.50 seconds." One of the fastest scores. I really have gotten better over that year of training. Some people can go over to me and praise me for my efforts and quirk. The tests went on, and people kept praising me for my impressive scores.

Grip Strength: 117 kg

Standing Long Jump: Passed the sand

Repeated Side Steps: A little above average

When it was the green hair kid's turn, before the ball was thrown out of his hand, I saw Mr. Aizawa use his quirk. Midoriya looked at his hand, questioning what happened.

"I erased your quirk," he announced. Our homeroom teacher: Shota Aizawa. Hero Name: Erasure Head. Although he keeps away from the media, I do know about him. "The judges for this exam were not rational enough." After that he was out of my hearing range. A couple minutes later he let Midoriya do his throw. I could see that Bakugou was pissed. Seeing how rash he is, I decided to take out my special fabric cube. It was a normal Rubik's cube with atomic structures written in the middle of every side. I slowly started to solve it. When he threw it, it went pretty far.

"705.3 meters," the device read. 10 more centimeters than Bakugou. Oh no. I started solving the cube a bit faster than before.

"Mr. Aizawa," I heard Midoriya say as he turned around. "I can still move." He was twitching, I saw that his finger was purple. So his quirk has that big of a drawback? Is his body not used to his quirk or something? A couple questions ran through my head, when I heard crackling. I look to see Bakugou start running towards Midoriya. One last turn and it's solved.

"HEY!" Bakugou yells as I wrap some of the fabric around my hands as fast as possible. "DEKU, YOU BASTARD! TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR YOU'RE DEAD!" I then launch the fabric at him and it wraps around his upper body. "Why the hell is this damn scarf so strong?" He strained, probably thinking it was Mr. Aizawa.

"It's made with carbon fiber and a metal alloy, meant to be a capture weapon like Mr. Aizawa's scarf," I explain with a stern voice. Everyone looked at me with surprised expressions. The scarf was white, with the other colors of the Rubik's cube flying around it. My hair was the standard colors of a Rubik's cube, but mainly my normal white hair. "We get it, you're pissed. But remember, this is a school still. Harming other students isn't tolerated, unless we're doing combat training. But last time I checked, this is a quirk assessment test and you've already had your turn. So I suggest you go back to the group and wait for the next task."

"She's right," I heard Mr. Aizawa agree. I look to see him using his quirk on Bakugou, but he was careful enough to not cancel my quirk. "Stand down. It would be wise not making me use my quirk so much. It gives me serious dry eye." I let Bakugou go as Mr. Aizawa turned his quirk off and waved him off. "Whoever's next can step up."

Midoriya came up to the group and I walked up to him. My special fabric cube was back on my necklace and I had my water cube in my hand. "Midoriya," I called. He looked at me.

"Oh, hello. Sorry, I don't remember your name," he greeted.

"Sun-hee Jin. Can you hold out your hand?" He looks confused, but does it anyway. I solved the cube in about 10 seconds and the cube turned into water with my hair turning bright blue. He has a look of awe on his face. I control a small amount of water to wrap around his finger and freeze, creating a frost on his finger. "This will be cold enough to stop the swelling for the remainder of the events. When it turns back into a cube, just give it back to me." I walk away and wave him off.

The tests were finished and Mr. Aizawa pulled up the rankings. I was tied for first with Momo Yoayurozu.

"And I was lying, no one's going home," Mr. Aizawa announced. What? My face was composed but questions were racing through my mind. Does he really see Midoriya to have that much potential? I look over to Midoriya, to see him freaking out. "That was just a rational deception to make sure to make sure you have it your all on the tests."

"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure it out. I'm sorry," the girl I believe is Momo Yoayurozu apologized. "I guess I probably should've said something."

But, he wasn't lying before. He really would've expelled Midoriya if it hadn't been for his throw. He's lying now.

"That's it, we're done for the day. Pick up a syllabus in the classroom. Read it over before tomorrow morning." And with that, Mr. Aizawa walked away. He also gave Midoriya a slip for the nurse's office.

"That was nerve-racking," Mina huffed. "I don't know how you keep your composure, Sun-hee."

"Being around my parents is nerve-racking enough," I replied. Mina then had a look of realization and started chuckling, and I chuckled with her.

Time Skip

I was walking toward the gate, when I heard someone call out my name. I turn to see Midoriya jogging towards me, with my cube in hand.

"Hey, Jin. Thanks for frosting my finger earlier," he thanked.

"It's no problem," I blandly said. I take the cube from his hand and clip it back on my necklace.

"You're Sun-hee Jin, right? Your quirk is awesome! How are you able to solve that cube so fast?" The brown hair girl asks.

"Years of practice," I say. "I'm sorry, I don't exactly know any of your names."

"Oh, I'm Ochako Uraraka!"

"Nice to officially meet you." I look at my phone and notice the time. "Sorry, I have to hurry to the station. There's gonna be a rush at my parent's diner and I wanna be there to help out. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I turn to leave and block out everything.

Time Skip

I was currently writing in my idea book. It's filled with my ideas for songs, dance, and hero stuff. My phone rings and I look to see the contact as Sir Nighteye. I press the pick up button.

"Hey, Nighteye," I greet. Nighteye has gotten close to my family and I. He occasionally comes and stays for dinner. My sister adores him. He prioritizes humor and positivity as well as the normal hero basics like quirk control. She enjoys his company as much as I do.

"Hello Sun-hee. How was your first day at UA?"

"Interesting, to say the least." I told him all about the quirk assessment test and my classmates. He would occasionally put in his input. But, when I got to Midoriya, he went silent.

"Sir?"

"It seems that you'll have an interesting year," he finally answered.

I then remembered a phone call I overheard a couple of months into my training.

Flashback

I was walking back to Nighteye's office from the bathroom. I was on break for training, when I heard him yelling.

"YOU'RE PASSING YOU'RE ONE FOR ALL ONTO A QUIRKLESS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT?!" I heard Nighteye's voice from the hall. There was a pause. He's on a phone call. "HE CAN'T DO THAT WITH INTENTIONS ALONE! THERE ARE ANY NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE MORE SUITABLE! I'M TRAINING SOMEONE WHO'S WORTHY! SHE CAN WIELD ONE FOR ALL, SO YOU SURVIVE AND SHE MEETS YOUR DAMN CRITERIA!" After that, he paused for a moment and hung up. What was Sir talking about? Why was he yelling? Who was he talking to? What is One For All? Is he training me just for that reason? Questions were speeding one after the other. I shouldn't focus on that. Even if he trained me just for that reason, he's doing it to save someone's life. He never has malicious intentions, so I shouldn't bother him about it. I took a breath to bring back my composure, and opened the door.

"Sir, is everything alright? I heard you yelling outside."

"Oh, yes Sun-hee. Everything's fine, now let's get back to training."

Flashback over

From then on, I never asked. But it was always at the back of my mind. Should I ask him about it now? I then remembered something I heard Bakugou say to Iida. It was during Midoriya's turn in the softball throw.

"He's a quirkless loser!"

Was the quirkless middle school student Midoriya?

"Sun-hee!" I was brought out of my thoughts by Sir's voice.

"Sorry, Nighteye. I spaced out there."

"You need to stay focused. You're in the top school now."

"Of course, Sir."

"It's late. You should go to sleep."

I look to see the time is 10:32. "Yeah, thanks for checking up on me. Good night, Sir."

"Good night, Sun-hee."

After I hung up, I closed my song book and climbed into my bed. My questions were still in my mind, but I was also pretty tired. I'll sleep it off. And I drifted into slumber.
