"You got any ID on you?"

"Yes, sir!" Mr. Goku raised his lanyard up for the cashier to study. Once he saw the identification wasn't fraudulent, he gave him the buy one get one free pizza deal.

The custodian paused at a table near the door of the Family Fun Center and pulled back the lid to snap a picture of the personal-sized pizza. The steam rising from the delicious pie fogged up his phone's lens and it took him longer than he expected to get a non-blurry photo. Once he got one he was pleased with, he sent it to Miss Chi-Chi.

I could eat five of these and still be hungry.

Goku slid his phone inside his back pocket and carried his bag of dinner back to his car. As soon as he sat down and put the key in the ignition, his phone was buzzing.

Bing!

If you need more food, let me know! I'll cook something up :)

"Darn it," Goku grumbled while staring at her message. The last thing he wanted was for Chi-Chi to think she needed to cook something for him. His thumbs started typing back furiously.

Kidding! :D

(He really wasn't. These things were tiny.)

Bing!

"Geez, she sure types back quick," Goku chuckled to himself while picking up his phone again. He took it as a good sign, though. She was interested enough in talking to him to respond just as excitedly as she talked to him in person.

I wasn't ;)

Can't text & drive. See you soon.

Ooh I love a responsible man!

Goku shook his head with a grin and threw his phone down on the passenger seat. It was almost seven o' clock and he cut it close getting to the Family Fun Center. The sky was pitch black already, and Goku was all too familiar with where Chi-Chi resided. He got there in record time - going the speed limit, of course - and parked as close as he could to the pool. After locking his car twice, he paused by the gates and pulled his phone out again.

What did you say your apt number was?

"Mr. Goku!"

The custodian slightly jumped at the sound of his name and saw Chi-Chi waving from the second floor of building D. He dropped his phone onto the grass beneath him at seeing what she had on. Gone were her jeans and sweater from earlier. She had on a thin-strapped red dress, and her dark hair was now curly.

Keeping a steady eye on her, Goku squatted down and blindly felt around for his phone. He stood once he had his device back and waved it at the young teacher.

"Must be nice living on the second floor!"

"Well, moving was hell but it is nice not having to listen to anyone thump around your ceiling!" Chi-Chi called back. "Come! I have something special for you!"

Ignoring a million thoughts running through his mind of what he wanted it to be, Goku jogged up the stairs to find out for himself. He was quickly greeted by an enthusiastic Chi-Chi who squeezed him just as tightly as she did before. Holding the bag of small pizzas made it hard for him to hold her in return, so he just accepted his fate with a blush.

"The kids made you something today! We wanted to give it to you earlier but the paint was still wet."

"Aw, you didn't have to do that!" Goku really wished he could hug her back. "Custodian Appreciation Week was months ago, and if I remember correctly, your kiddos made those cute drawings I have hanging up."

Chi-Chi's face was warm once she pulled away, realizing she had been hugging him for far too long. She kept a small, shy smile and held his hand to lead him inside. He placed the bag on her coffee table as soon as they entered the living room. Sprawled out on the couch was a large banner with eighteen little handprints with individual names written uniquely and large words with a special message.

We Appreciate You, Mr. Goku! i

"Aw, would ya look at that!?" Goku's eyes lit up as he looked at the thoughtful gift. Even after getting plenty from his little admirers at school, each gift meant so much to him. This one, in particular, tugged at his heartstrings. He was a sucker for handprints. "I love it. I'll have to do something special for your class tomorrow."

Chi-Chi hummed to herself while her eyes darted around the room. "Wellllll… I kinda had an idea."

"Why Miss Chi-Chi you sly dog," Goku raised an eyebrow in amusement after gently rolling up the banner to make room on the couch. "Don't tell me this sweet gesture had an ulterior motive behind it."

"I was wondering if there was any chance you could come read to my class tomorrow? You know, if you're not busy…" When Chi-Chi's eyes settled on him, there were tiny beads of sweat on her forehead as if he would turn her down. The custodian considered messing around with her but wasn't sure how she'd take it looking this nervous. So instead, he draped an arm around her for a side-hug.

"It would be my pleasure, Miss Chi-Chi! Just give me a time!"

The teacher rested her head against his shoulder, enjoying his comfort. After a too quick of a minute passed, she cleared her throat and he removed his arm.

"Would you like some water? Juice? Beer?"

Goku scrunched his eyebrows together while taking a seat on her leather couch. "You have beer in your fridge?"

"No!" Chi-Chi giggled. "I could get some from across the street if you wanted some, though."

"Actually, I don't drink," Goku told the truth. "I was just surprised to hear you suggest it. You don't seem like a beer drinker."

"I'm not a drinker either," Chi-Chi gasped and her expression turned into excitement. "And here I thought I was the odd one out on campus. I'll go get us some water."

Goku pulled the coffee table toward the couch so they had a nice space for enjoying dinner together. Her apartment was just as clean as his own. She took good care of herself and her belongings, as he expected. When she returned, the custodian took a mental video of her walking toward him with that gorgeous simper on her face.

"Here you go." Chi-Chi placed the cold glasses on the coasters of her table and sat down without looking. Both the teacher and the custodian turned redder than her dress when they realized where she ended up.

"I know I forgot to shave today," Goku's voice was calm despite what her current position was doing to him. "But do I look that much like Santa Claus you had to sit in my lap?"

"S-Sorry!" Despite being in frantic mode, Chi-Chi remained frozen where she was and even had her arms wrapped around his neck to support her. "I wasn't paying…"

Her voice trailed off as she searched his eyes. The way those brown eyes bore into him was like the sun shining through a glass of his father's whiskey. They were setting each other on fire. Goku slowly ran the hand that rested on her waist up to her face and held her burning cheek. Once she brought her lips towards his, Goku claimed her with his mouth. That first kiss was a long one, and the ones that followed were even longer.

Both the custodian and teacher were excellent with time management.

Bing!

Goku groaned as he flipped over to look at who was texting him this early. His alarm wasn't set to go off until 4:00 and it was 3:50. Someone was interrupting those precious ten minutes that made a difference. Once he squinted against the brightness at the name, his features softened.

Been up all night thinking about you. I hope that kiss didn't freak you out too much…

You mean kisses?

Goku :/

Kidding. Of course not. Waiting patiently for the next one!

Not seeing the three little dots pop up anymore, Goku figured she fell back asleep and placed his phone back down on the stand. Once he closed his eyes and could feel himself beginning to drift off into bliss, his phone went off yet again.

Would it be weird for you to take me to work this morning?

I go in at 5. You sure?

It would be a great start to my day.

How could he turn that down?

Sure thing, Miss Chi-Chi. I'll be at your door at 4:50.

Once she sent a single kissy-face emoji, Goku figured she was getting rest while she could or was getting herself ready. Knowing he wouldn't get the rest he had lost - and not minding at all given the beautiful reason - the custodian got out of bed and stretched with a loud yawn. If he could shower quickly, he'd have enough time to get the teacher a coffee and donut to make her morning even better.

Just as he was searching his closet with the water warming up in the bathroom, his phone went off again. He walked towards it holding his clothes underneath his arm.

Can you look at the pics I'm about to send you and tell me which one looks better? Be honest please!

Curious as to what was going to pop up on his phone, Goku sat on the edge of his unmade bed and waited.

Bing!

"Whoa…"

In both photos she sent, the teacher looked good in either hairstyle she was debating for the day but the second one was doing something for him. She had a large red bow clipped in and it reminded him of the dress she wore last night.

The bow looks nice :)

Knowing how lame and bland his words sounded, Goku shook his head and threw his phone down on his bed instead of waiting for her response. He was going to end up getting fired with all these distractions. As he washed his hair and body as clean as he kept everything else in his life, his thoughts couldn't help but drift to the dirty side.

"Is that for me?"

"Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!"

Chi-Chi accepted his treats and they went down the stairs together. "You gonna say that every day, huh?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

They paused on the grass so Chi-Chi could do a taste test. Her eyes widened at the flavor. "You had it made just the way I like it!"

The custodian winked and tapped his temple with his index finger. "Yes, ma'am. I've got a great memory."

Unable to help herself, Chi-Chi had to stand on her tiptoes - despite wearing heels - to kiss him sweetly on the cheek. She kept her balance long enough to whisper close to his ear.

"I appreciate you, Mr. Goku."

She turned around and started walking towards the parking lot, assuming he was following right behind her. As she unknowingly talked to herself, the custodian held his warm cheek and watched her red bow get further away.
