On One Condition

Darcy proposes to Elizabeth. She is willing to accept him but on one condition. I am glad some of you liked the first one. I nearly did not post that as I felt it had a tinge of sadness instead of my usual snarky shorts. Yes, it could be seen as silly or cheeky too. I originally had 4 standalone shorts but this “Saving Jane” snowballed unexpectedly. What do I do with the other 3?

3. Saving Jane - Part 3

"Fitzwilliam…"

"Perhaps another time, Elizabeth. I need to go --"

"Fitzwilliam!"

"Yes?"

"I need to talk to you urgently!"

"Have you changed your mind?"

"What do you mean?"

"I know you agreed to marry me because of Jane. I feel guilty that you had little choice--"

"Is that why you have been avoiding me?"

"I am sorry for being selfish. I did not want you to have the chance to break the engagement, but if you want to--"

"You are right. I have indeed changed my mind."

"… I understand…"

"And I have had a change of heart. I love you, Fitzwilliam."
