The Witch
King Grimkin then sees a necklace that is very beautiful. It sparkles and is as if dancing in the moonlight. It pulls him in very shortly. Then he takes it and is putting it away in his pocket.
Unfortunately, it was a witch's necklace. Later he sees the witch. She has changed herself into a beautiful young girl. She is full of bewitching powers. She radiated with sexuality and an air of danger. She was beautiful, young and white with tender blonde waving hair. She seemed to radiate the hope that of never ending pleasure. Yes, it was the witch that he had taken the pretty necklace from after finding it on the ground. It had not been a good idea.
She motioned with a wave of her hand for him to come down. "Come down and see me handsome man," she said coyly with a little smile. He then noticed her cherry red lips and was enchanted again. He was enchanted, but that was really quite an easy thing for her. The witch was wearing a gold dress and her hair was done up in large curling waves. Her white skin shone and she was smiling at him.
"Jump down," she said to him. She was still smiling a little but it was fading. She was getting more serious now.
"I'm coming now, watch out," said the king. He was really quite pleased with himself. It would make such a joyous conquest for him. He fell down for about fifty feet. It was a nasty fall but there was the hay. Still it was very dangerous. Once he was down there was no way out. He was stuck there. He thought he was alone but then he felt as if someone or something was there. It nudged toward him and he felt something furry. It was a rat and really a couple of them. They seemed a little frightened in the dark. The king was getting a bit alarmed thought. He did not really want the rats all over him at all.
The witch was still there. She had turned back into a witch. She was quite pleased with herself and the disaster that she was causing. A curious cackle from her could be heard in the wind nearby. She may have been on a broom. There is no way of being sure of that. That is because of her being invisible by her spell.
"Cackle, cackle," can be heard as if it came from the wind about there and the little witch. It came out softly and the wind came up as the sky was darkening for the night.
She cackled and held onto her sides from her bursting with laughter. She stared down at the king. She was still invisible to anyone there now. She could still see the king. As the king attempted to get up, he was stuck. There was nowhere for him to go but up. He realized he needed help somehow. There was an atmosphere there of deep foreboding. He tried to get up with all of his strength. He was also afraid of someone seeing how stupid he looked in the hay. Finally he was able to escape from the hay and the witch. He ran back home.
The king at this time runs back to his castle. He is very happy to get back to it. He wonders to himself what to do next. "What is to become of me he thought. A witch or someone like that has come to get me. There is not way out. I will have to think of something and use all of my wits to get out of this mess."
The king rushes past so he can be safe as it were, back in his castle.
The girl (in disguise as she is really a witch) pleasantly asks the servant there if she can go in since she has an appointment. "May I please come in?", she states in a fairly important manner.
"Yes, of course," the kind servant says nicely as he opens the door for her with a smile.
"Thank you," says the witch politely as she is being let into the castle.
"I hear cackling from somewhere, it's very loud. Do you hear it?," asks the stable hand.
"Yes, I heard something," another man answers, "I wasn't sure at all what it was." "How is the king doing now, he looked rather worried?,"
"Oh, he's fine, he will be just fine the king," the maid said, "He probably just has other things on his mind."
Now the king had gotten his special witch protector defender magical amulet object out and put it on his door. But as we know now that had all not worked fast enough. The little witch had gotten in already. She was again in the disguise of a beautiful lady.
"Is it a necklace?," asks the king, when he sees the strange object just hanging around his neck. The witch had put it out using her magical powers.
"No, it's not," states his humble servant Sylvester, "It looks really like a noose from somewhere. I will get you help," states the servant.
"What will I do now?," this is terrible, "help, help," screams the king in a moment of fear and destiny all at once.
The little witch pulls him up by magic means to hang him. She is still there by supernatural means. The king is almost killed but he is able to pull himself out of it. The witch just laughs as at a funny joke by herself. The king is still alive almost by supernatural means. The witch may have just let him go. It was like a cat letting a mouse go to play with it a little longer. "Cackle, cackle," says the witch with glee.
Later she is even more bad and results are more dire. She states then that she will turn him into a turnip. "I think I will turn you into a big turnip right now," the witch cackles. The people don't hear her saying that.
With great glee Violet as she is called, turns him into a turnip. "See how you like this," she cries back at him. "Cackle cackle," is heard from the witch.
The king is now beside himself. He is indeed a turnip. It is a little purple the turnip. It is a big fat turnip. Fear has come all over his body. "Help, help me," cries the king. He now may be looked on as maybe even a mad person. People can hear him but he just looks like a turnip.
There is a cook nearby unfortunately, and he goes in to get the turnip. "No, no," screams the king. He tries to call for his sister or anyone. "Help, someone get help," he cries.
"It is talking," says the slave standing by the cook.
"Just ignore it says the cook," as he slams his knife down into the turnip.
"Help, help," screams the king as his little body is filled with pain.
"Cackle, cackle," says the witch. She now looks about with a pleased manner. She even figures that she may now have had her revenge on the king. But she will still go to look for her necklace.
Later the spell is changed from the king paying for an expensive spell to stop the witchcraft. But it was not an easy thing for him to do at all. He had to go out and look for different things for it such as Deadly Nightshade. He of course, had to return the necklace also.
