"You are right, but this is where, according to Lord Otto, we would find the location of the 2nd Key." Rita told Beverly, who looked less than impressed.
"Did that old codger, get the information right?" Beverly asked Rita when all of a sudden they hear a purring sound and turned around to see a cat with a white and black coat and some odd tattoo like markings on it's forehead, ears and tail.
"A... cat?" Beverly asked in bewilderment a look that was shared by Rita.
"I thought you couldn't bring a pet into the Museum." Rita commented as she knew that it was forbidden to bring a pet inside the Museum.
"Could it that this cat belongs to Catherin?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Perhaps..." Rita said when all of a sudden the cat was engulfed in a bright light catching both Rita and Beverly by surprise
And in the place of the small cat stood a Honkai Beast with the visage of a cat.
"I'd bet that Gwen would have loved this cat as her pet." Beverly thought to herself as she recalled her cousin's fondness of cats.
But her train of thought was interrupted when the cat jumped to attack them.
"Good Kitty." Said Beverly in a playful tone as she and Rita looked at the cat that all of a sudden transformed into a Honkai Beasts.
"Meow (Your cockiness will be your undoing little female)" Was The cats answer as it lunged at Beverly and Rita, who narrowly managed to dodge it's attack again and again but the duo managed to evade it, although the same cannot be said about the artifacts that are currently scattered about the floor.
"So... did Otto know anything about a transformable Honkai Beast?" Asked Beverly.
"No, lady Beverly but let go and take out this bag of diseases." Rita said.
"Meow (Very impressive female, that you managed to evade all of my attacks.) The cat meowed when it's "HUD" assessed Beverly's and Rita's threat level, which both were critical.
"Meow (I can smell the Honkai coming off of you females. Every Valkyrie has a Battlesuit I'd like to see yours." The cat mewed, with a slight blush, as both Rita and Beverly switched to their battlesuits.
Rita's was wearing a lunar-like suit, her headband will be replaced by ice-colored spines and her left arm will be decorated with blue and white metal wings. She also wears a black and white lace around her neck, her coat is a white armor, a black skirt with white lines and two white and blue thighhighs. And at her hands a scythe with a blue blade appeared in her hands.
As for Beverly, her bettlesuit consisted of a body-glove which connected the armor pieces which covered her legs and humeri, along with a double-sided pauldron, she was also wearing a pair of black and blue gauntlets with a bright blue crystal in the middle the hand, a small white half-cape with the Schicksal's coat of arms along with a Kama that covered her armored thighs for extra protection.
And in her right hand a large Greatsword appeared in her hands it's entire body, from blade to crossguard were red and the inner parts along with the handle were decorated by black and silver lines.
"Well then let's get this party started then shall we? And then we will go and continue our search." Said Beverly as she aimed her sword at the large cat.
"Agreed." Rita said as both Valkyries charged at the cat.
"Meow(A fine battlesuit you've got Valkyries but can you survive this?)" The Cat "said" as it brought up it's tail and released a large honkai energy attack at both Beverly which then caused a large explosion, getting the attention of the people passing by.
Suddenly the crystal in the cat's collar began to beep until the honkai beast reverted back into a normal cat.
"Meow(Curse this unreliable tool that Human gave me. Well... It'd appear that we have to post pone this match of ours at a later date.) Meow Meow! (Before I leave, know that My name is Stan, We shall meet again at a later date.)" And with that Stan left the museum's grounds.
As the cat left the rubble that Beverly and Rita were in due to the energy blast caused by Stan turned into red dust like matter that began to shroud the Greatsword in Beverly's hands as if it were an Aura of blood.
"Well it is official cats bad, dogs good." Beverly said as she and Rita dispersed their gear and were in the normal clothing.
"Indeed, we truly underestimated that Honkai Cat, and we never expected it to have such destructive ." Rita agreed with Beverly.
"Miss Beverly, Miss Rita..." The Valkyries turn around to see Catherine who seemed to have a less than pleased look on her face.
"I am sorry to intrude but I believe that you owe me *and* many people an explanation as to what transpired here." The Director said in a restrained tone.
"Of course Director Catherine, we do apologize for this little mess, and all your losses will be fully compensated for by Schicksal." Rita said with a smile.
As for Beverly she thought that something bigger was going to happen, and that her and Bianca were at the center of it.
Minutes later after the Police arrived
"Well... that was a hot mess." Bevery said as she sat on the stairs.
After they explained the situation to Catherine the two Valkyries were now back in the clothing that they used before the Cat's attack.
"I do have to agree with you on the matter Madam Beverly, although it could have gone worse." Rita said making Beverly quirk her eyebrow.
"Oh? And what could have gone worse, Rita?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Well... first off would could have been killed by that Artificial Honkai beast." Rita said.
"And second?" Beverly asked as she decided to humor Rita.
"And secondly, the cat may have gone and killed other civilians." Rita said causing the American Valkyrie to chuckle.
"My, you really have make nice gallows humor." Beverly said with a smile on her face.
"Well, there nothing that can be done about it." Said Rita.
"Hey Rita, Beverly, how did the mission go?" Cam the voice of Bianca, as both Rita and Beverly looked up to see the Blond Valkyrie.
Hey Bianca how did your sightseeing go?" Asked Beverly as she looked at her friend.
"Well it could have gone worse." Said Bianca as she stepped towards Beverly and Bianca.
"Oh, and by the way what's with the leukoplast tape around your hand?" Asked Beverly causing Rita to look at her charge and saw that there was a Luekopolast tape around her hand
"Oh, this? It's nothing really." Bianca said as she showed her hand.
"What about you guys?" Bianca asked them
"Well our tale began with a cat..." Rita said as she showed the back of her hand which had a scar on it, though she was interrupted as Bianca placed her hand on Rita's shoulder.
"Cats? Don't worry Rita , I know a lot about the cats of London." Bianca said with a stern voice, causing Rita to look at her team leader with a questioning look.
" I see, that's good to hear... I guess." Rita said.
"Is it because you got attacked by a stray cat that you tried to pet Bianca, that you suddenly became an expert on how London cats behave?" Beverly said with a bit of humor, trying to raise this depressing atmosphere.
"...No." Was Bianca's reply.
"Banter aside, this museum attack was carried out by an artificial Honkai Beast that is affiliated with an unknown party, and Schicksal seems to be their target. They'll try and attack again if Beverly and I were to continue our mission." Rita said.
"You two don't have to do it on your own you know?" Bianca said as she looked at her teammates.
"Really? Hmm... While Beverly and I would appreciate your help, I believe that you should enjoy your well earned Holiday, Master Durandal." Rita said.
"What she said." Beverly said in agreement with Rita.
"Well... if you say so, though if there is anything you need help with, don't hesitate to call me, alright?" Asked Bianca as she got up on her feet.
"We'll keep that in mind, Master Durandal." Said Rita with a smile on her face.
As for Beverly was convinced that Rita had a thing going on for Bianca.
Later
"So Beverly how as the test run?" Asked Otto as he looked over at Beverly through the Holoscreen.
"The test run of the Greatsword and the Gauntlets?" Beverly asked the Overseer who simply nodded.
"Yes." Otto responded with a nod of his head.
"Well there isn't much to say really I didn't "really" make a proper shakedown run as the fight was so fast and that the cat managed to escape before we could make a proper fight." Beverly explained.
"I see." Otto responded with and let out a sad sigh.
"Although..." Beverly said as she managed to grab Otto's attention.
"Yes?" Asked Otto
"The Greatsword it had something strange about." Beverly said.
"Strange?" Otto asked as he quirked and eyebrow.
"How do I put this... It felt as if I was listening to thousands of voices in the background." Beverly answered as she recalled the voices she heard from holding the greatsword.
"Continue." Otto said as she got invested.
"And... that it strangely can turn other matter like the rocks me and Rita were trapped in into a sort of matter that spiraled around it like it was a sort of Aura or "Veil". I... don't know how to put it better than that." Beverly told Otto, who simply nodded in understanding.
"Understood, other than that you and Rita may continue your investigation for the 2nd Key, Have a good Day." Said Otto as he shut down the comm channel.
Elsewhere
Location Unknown
"Well done Stan,You have managed to wound two Schicksal Valkyries." Sad a Woman, who was wearing a Jackal's mask, as she was petting Stan.
"Meow ( You gave me a faulty device, human. 5 five more seconds and those Valkyries would have been Dead." Stan "said" angrily.
"Here's your reward, we will work on your limited and extend your combat duration." The woman said as she gave Stan a bowl of Cat food, to which Stan didn't find rather delighting.
"Hrrrrr.(You made me miss my prey, and now you placate me with this?!" Stan exclaimed as he jumped off of the table.
"Wait, where are you going?" The woman said as she looked at Stan that was leaving.
"Meow!(I'm getting more training to enhance my Honkai Adaptability, human." Stan "told" the woman who simply stood there quizzically.
"Did it just ignore it's master? Did it pick on another cat's scent?" The woman said as she let out a sigh. "Cats are such complicated creatures." She said to herself as she turned her attention to the board where there was a photo of Rita and Beverly hanging on it.
"No worries, that was a simple test run. We have a far more special present in store for these Schicksal Valkyries." The woman said with a hint of mischief in her tone.
With Catherine
"Hello Miss Rita? It's me Director Catherin." Said Catherine.
"How may I be of service Director?" Rita asked the director.
"First of I wanted to say that we appreciate your prompt Payment, and secondly I believe that you and Miss Beverly have gotten into a major bottleneck and I've been wondering if you need some help from my side." Catherine said as she managed to grab the Maid's attention.
"Very well, Director Catherine, your services would be greatly appreciated." Rita said.
"Marvelous, see each-other tomorrow morning." Catherine said.
"Indeed." Rita agreed.
